Description

medium-duty tires

[0001] The present invention relates to a medium-load tire having improved pattern rigidity and suppressing irregular wear, and more specifically, to a medium-load tire having improved pattern rigidity and suppressing irregular wear while improving drainage properties.

[0002] In general, in order to secure various performances such as drainage performance, braking performance, and heat generation of a medium-duty pneumatic tire, a plurality of grooves are provided in the tread of a vehicle pneumatic tire, and a plurality of blocks are formed by being divided by the grooves.

[0003] Among the important performances of tires, the improvement of moisture absorption and drainage functions on wet roads is gradually being emphasized, and technology that improves these moisture absorption and drainage functions while maintaining or increasing the durability of tires is required.

[0004] For this purpose, a technology has been developed to form a separate hidden path in the groove of the tire.

[0005] These hidden euros have the effect of improving mileage, driving performance, rolling resistance, and improving the rigidity of the pattern.

[0006] However, this technology had the problem of reducing drainage due to a decrease in the area of the grooves in the early stage of wear.

[0007] In addition, the hidden euro was revealed when the wear rate exceeded 70%, which improved drainage, but conversely, there was a problem that irregular wear occurred and driving performance was reduced as the pattern rigidity decreased.

[0008] Therefore, a technology is required that improves drainage performance while not reducing pattern stiffness even after mid-wear.

[0009] The purpose of the present invention to solve the above problems is to provide a medium-load tire that improves drainage while simultaneously improving pattern rigidity and suppressing irregular wear.

[0010] The technical problems to be solved by the present invention are not limited to the technical problems mentioned above, and other technical problems not mentioned can be clearly understood by a person having ordinary skill in the technical field to which the present invention belongs from the description below.

[0011] According to one embodiment of the present invention, a medium-duty tire includes a block portion comprising a central rib and side ribs provided on both sides of the central rib; a main groove formed to partition between the central rib and the side ribs and extending in the circumferential direction of the tire; a hidden groove formed in the main groove; and a reinforcing rib formed in the main groove, wherein the hidden groove and the reinforcing rib are mutually spaced apart and formed in an intersection in the main groove.

[0012] The above hidden groove may include a hidden block forming a body; a hidden cuff formed to extend in the depth direction of the hidden block; and a hidden flow path formed at the lower portion of the hidden cuff.

[0013] The above hidden block can be formed to have a width of 100 to 200% of the width of the above reinforcing rib.

[0014] The above hidden path can be formed so that the widthwise cross-sectional area is 80% or less of the widthwise cross-sectional area of the main groove.

[0015] The above reinforcing rib can be formed to have a width of 70% or more of the width of the main groove.

[0016] The above reinforcing rib can be formed to have a height of 80 to 90% of the depth of the main groove.

[0017] The above reinforcing rib may be designed to be worn while maintaining a step difference of 2 to 3 mm with the adjacent block portion.

[0018] The above reinforcing rib may include a reinforcing body forming a body; a reinforcing groove formed on an upper surface of the reinforcing body; and a reinforcing cuff formed on a surface of the reinforcing body facing the block portion.

[0019] The above reinforcing body can be provided so that both sides are in contact with the central rib and the side rib, respectively.

[0020] The above reinforcing belt part may be formed such that the reinforcing grooves are formed at equal intervals on the upper surface of the reinforcing body and have a depth of 0.5 mm or less.

[0021] According to one embodiment of the present invention described above, the rigidity of the pattern is improved by allowing the central rib and the side rib to contact each other from a transverse perspective through the hidden groove and the reinforcing rib, thereby providing the effect of improving driving performance and rolling resistance.

[0022] In addition, according to the present invention, since the reinforcing ribs disperse and absorb the force generated in the central rib and the side ribs during driving and braking, irregular wear of the central rib and the side ribs can be reduced.

[0023] In addition, according to the present invention, since the reinforcing rib maintains a 2 to 3 mm step difference with the adjacent central rib and side rib while distributing force and wearing out, it provides an effect of improving drainage performance compared to when there is only a hidden groove.

[0024] The effects of the present invention are not limited to the effects described above, and should be understood to include all effects that can be inferred from the detailed description of the present invention or the composition of the invention described in the claims.

[0036] Hereinafter, the present invention will be described in more detail with reference to the accompanying drawings showing embodiments of the present invention.

[0037] FIG. 1 is an exemplary diagram of a medium-load tire having improved pattern rigidity and suppressed irregular wear according to an embodiment of the present invention, FIG. 2 is a top view of a main groove, a hidden groove, and a reinforcing rib according to an embodiment of the present invention, and FIG. 3 is a cross-sectional view of the main groove taken along line AA of FIG. 2.

[0038] Referring to FIGS. 1 to 3, a medium-duty tire (100) having improved pattern rigidity and suppressed irregular wear may be composed of a tread, a sidewall, and a bead portion, and may include a block portion (110) partitioned by the main groove (120) on the surface of the tread.

[0039] In addition, a medium-load tire (100) that improves pattern rigidity and suppresses irregular wear may include a hidden groove (130) and a reinforcing rib (140) formed in the main groove (120).

[0040] More specifically, the block portion (110) may be composed of a central rib (111) and side ribs (112) provided on both sides of the central rib (111).

[0041] The central rib (111) is positioned at the center of the width of the tire and may extend in the circumferential direction. The central rib (111) may be composed of a plurality of blocks divided by transverse sipes.

[0042] The side ribs (112) are positioned on both sides of the central rib (111) and may be formed to extend in the circumferential direction. The side ribs (112) may be composed of a plurality of blocks divided by transverse sipes.

[0043] The above main grooves (120) are provided as a pair to divide the central rib (111) and the side ribs (112) formed on both sides of the central rib (111), and can be formed to extend in the circumferential direction of the tire.

[0044] Fig. 4 is a BB cross-sectional view of Fig. 2 of the hidden groove.

[0045] Referring to FIG. 4, the hidden groove (130) is formed in the main groove (120), and may be formed at regular intervals along the length direction of the main groove (120).

[0046] The above hidden groove (130) may include a hidden block (131), a hidden cuff (132), and a hidden flow path (133).

[0047] The above hidden block (131) is provided to form the body of the above hidden groove (130), and may be formed to extend by a certain length along the longitudinal direction of the above main groove (120). For example, the above hidden block (131) may be formed to extend by a length less than or equal to the tire circumferential length of the block forming the above central rib (111).

[0048] In addition, the hidden block (131) can be formed with a width such that both sides are in contact with the central rib (111) and the side rib (112).

[0049] The hidden block (131) provided in this manner has the central rib (111) and the side rib (112) in contact with each other from a lateral perspective, thereby improving the rigidity of the pattern and, accordingly, providing the effect of improving driving performance and rolling resistance.

[0050] The above hidden cuff (132) can be formed to extend in the depth direction of the above hidden block (131).

[0051] Specifically, the hidden cuff (132) may be formed to extend from the center of the hidden block (131) in the depth direction of the hidden block (131). In addition, the hidden cuff (132) may be formed to extend while being bent or curved in one direction or the other when extending in the depth direction of the hidden block (131).

[0052] The above hidden euro (133) may be formed in the hidden block (131), but may be formed to extend to the lower portion of the hidden cuff (132).

[0053] The hidden channel (133) may be provided so that its width gradually increases from the lower end of the hidden cuff (132) to the lower end of the hidden block (131). In addition, the hidden channel (133) may be provided so that its width gradually increases until it reaches a maximum width and then is maintained at a constant width, and then has a round shape corresponding to the lower round shape of the main groove (120) at the lower end.

[0054] However, the shape of the above hidden euro (133) is not limited to this.

[0055] Meanwhile, the hidden block (131) is formed to have a width of 100 to 200% of the width of the reinforcing rib (140), and the hidden flow path (133) can also be provided to have a corresponding width.

[0056] In addition, the hidden channel (133) may be formed so that the widthwise cross-sectional area is 80% or less of the widthwise cross-sectional area of the main groove (120). To satisfy this, the width of the hidden channel (133) and the depth ratio of the hidden channel (133) and the hidden cuff (132) may be controlled.

[0057] Fig. 6 is a longitudinal cross-sectional view of a reinforcing rib according to an embodiment of the present invention, and Fig. 7 is a CC cross-sectional view of the reinforcing rib of Fig. 2.

[0058] Referring to FIGS. 6 and 7, the reinforcing ribs (140) are formed in the main groove (120), and may be formed at regular intervals along the length direction of the main groove (120).

[0059] The above reinforcing rib (140) may include a reinforcing body (141), a reinforcing groove (142), and a reinforcing cuff (143).

[0060] The above reinforcing body (141) is provided to form the body of the reinforcing rib (140), and may be formed to extend by a certain length along the longitudinal direction of the main groove (120). For example, the reinforcing body (141) may be formed to extend less than the tire circumferential length of the block forming the central rib (111).

[0061] More specifically, the length of the upper surface of the reinforcing body (141) can be formed to be as small as 2 mm, which is 0.8 times the tire circumferential length of the block forming the central rib (111). However, the length of the upper surface of the reinforcing body (141) is not limited thereto.

[0062] In addition, the reinforcing body (141) is provided so that the length in the direction of the main groove (120) increases as it goes downward, and the angle for the increasing length can be provided so that it is 5 degrees or less.

[0063] In addition, the reinforcing body (141) may be formed to have a width of 70% or more of the width of the main groove (120). At this time, when the reinforcing body (141) is formed to have the maximum width, both sides may be provided to be in contact with the central rib (111) and the side rib (112), respectively.

[0064] The reinforcing body (141) provided in this manner has the central rib (111) and the side rib (112) in contact with each other from a lateral perspective, thereby improving the rigidity of the pattern, and thus providing the effect of improving driving performance and rolling resistance.

[0065] In addition, the reinforcing body (141) may be formed to have a height of 80 to 90% of the depth of the main groove (120). The reinforcing body (141) provided in this manner may be provided to wear out while maintaining a step of 2 to 3 mm with the adjacent block portion (110).

[0066] The above reinforcing grooves (142) are formed at equal intervals on the upper surface of the reinforcing body (141) and can be formed to have a depth of 0.5 mm or less. In addition, the reinforcing grooves (142) can be formed so that the lower surface is rounded with an R of 0.5.

[0067] The above reinforcing cuff (143) may be formed on the surface of the reinforcing body (141) facing the block portion (120). Specifically, the reinforcing cuff (143) may be provided so as to extend in a direction of depth of the reinforcing body (141) while being bent or curved in one direction and the other.

[0068] As described above, the hidden groove (130) and the reinforcing rib (140) are formed to intersect the main groove (120), and the hidden groove (130) and the reinforcing rib (140) can be formed to be spaced apart from each other.

[0069] The present invention, thus prepared, can reduce irregular wear of the central rib (111) and the side rib (112) because the reinforcing rib (140) disperses and absorbs the force generated in the central rib (111) and the side rib (112) during driving and braking, thereby causing wear.

[0070] In particular, even when the hidden groove (130) is worn out and the hidden path (133) is exposed, the stiffness of the pattern can be maintained even in the later stages of wear because the reinforcing rib (140) disperses and absorbs the force.

[0071] In addition, according to the present invention, since the reinforcing rib (140) maintains a 2 to 3 mm step difference with the adjacent central rib (111) and side rib (112) while dispersing force and wearing out, water may flow into the step part thereof. Accordingly, it provides the effect of improving drainage performance from the initial stage of wear compared to when only the hidden groove (120) is present in the main groove (120).

[0072] While the technical concepts of the present invention described above have been specifically described in preferred embodiments, it should be noted that the above embodiments are intended for illustrative purposes only and are not intended to be limiting. Furthermore, those skilled in the art will appreciate that various embodiments are possible within the scope of the technical concepts of the present invention. Therefore, the true scope of technical protection of the present invention should be determined by the technical concepts of the appended claims.
