[0015] Hereinafter, embodiments of the present disclosure will be described with reference to the drawings. In the description of the drawings, the same parts are designated by the same reference numerals and the description thereof will be omitted.
[0016] [Summary] The present disclosure focuses on the behavior of living organisms to quickly detect changes that occur in living organisms and their environments. By focusing on the behavior of living organisms, changes in living organisms in particular can be quickly detected. When the habitat environment changes, the living organisms living there change their behavior, which is reflected in the species, habitat distribution, appearance period, etc.
[0017] Therefore, in the present disclosure, living organisms are continuously observed using sensor terminals installed at multiple locations, and behavioral data of the organisms is detected from the observation data using a detection device. After that, changes in the organisms are detected from the behavioral data using the detection device, and changes in the environment at that time are detected.
[0018] In this way, the process of observing living organisms is automated by the sensor terminal, and the process of detecting the behavior of living organisms from the results of observation of the organisms, the process of detecting changes in living organisms from their behavior, and the process of detecting changes in the environment from environmental transitions are automated by the detection device, making it possible to detect changes in living organisms and the environment simultaneously and more quickly than if each process were performed manually.
[0019] [System Configuration] FIG. 1 is a diagram showing an example of the configuration of a detection system according to this embodiment.
[0020] The detection system is a system that operates continuously and detects changes that occur in an organism in real time based on the organism's behavior and detects changes that occur in the environment in real time. The detection system includes, for example, a detection device 1 and a plurality of sensor terminals 2.
[0021] The sensor terminals 2 are installed at multiple locations and are terminals that observe living organisms at each location. The sensor terminals 2 include, for example, an observation unit 21 that observes living organisms and a communication unit 22 that transfers observation data of the observed living organisms to the detection device 1 wirelessly or via a wired connection.
[0022] The type of the sensor terminal 2 may be any type, such as an acoustic device, a hydrophone, an ultrasonic device, a radar, an acceleration sensor, an imaging device, etc. The shape of the sensor terminal 2 may be either a floating type (a buoy, an unmanned aerial vehicle, etc.) or a fixed type (fixed to land, fixed to an artificial object, etc.).
[0023] The detection device 1 is a device that continuously detects the behavior of living organisms and detects changes in the organisms and changes in the environment using observation data of the organisms observed by the sensor terminal 2, various databases within the detection device 1, and data on the Internet. When the user starts operation, the detection device 1 displays the detection results of the detected changes in the organisms and changes in the environment on the screen. The detection device 1 also has an alert function that automatically issues an alert without user operation.
[0024] The detection device 1 may be mounted on any medium such as a server device, a personal computer device, a smartphone terminal, or a tablet terminal.
[0025] The detection device 1 includes, for example, a species data DB 11, an observation data DB 12, a map data DB 13, a land use status data DB 14, a biological behavior detection unit 15, a biological change detection unit 16, an environmental change detection unit 17, a display unit 18, and an alert output unit 19.
[0026] The species data DB 11 has a function of storing species data relating to species of organisms, such as the species name of the organism, the habitat distribution area of the organism, etc. The species data DB 11 is used, for example, when the organism behavior detection unit 15 identifies the organism species, and when the display unit 18 displays the organism species on the screen.
[0027] The observation data DB 12 has a function of storing observation data of living organisms continuously transferred from each of the plurality of sensor terminals 2. The observation data DB 12 is used, for example, when the living organism change detection unit 16 detects a change in a living organism.
[0028] The map data DB 13 has a function for storing map data for all parts of the country. The map data has a data structure that includes the names and locations of roads, buildings, etc. Topographical information is also stored so that land and ocean can be identified. The latest map data is obtained from a map data management device (not shown) on the Internet 3 and stored together with past map data. The map data DB 13 is used, for example, when the environmental change detection unit 17 detects environmental changes and when the display unit 18 displays map data on the screen.
[0029] The land use status data DB 14 has a function of storing land use status data related to land use status, such as land use status maps and soil contamination status investigation reports provided by administrative agencies. The land use status data DB 14 also stores land use status information acquired from outside as information on human activity, such as carbon dioxide emissions, wastewater volume from facilities, and aircraft and ship traffic. The land use status data DB 14 is used, for example, when the environmental change detection unit 17 detects environmental changes.
[0030] The organism behavior detection unit 15 has a function of detecting (generating) organism species behavior data relating to the behavior of the organism species by calculating the organism behavior amount and the like using the species data DB 11, observation data DB 12, and map data DB 13 based on the organism observation data transferred from the multiple sensor terminals 2. The organism behavior detection unit 15 may be provided in each of the multiple sensor terminals 2.
[0031] The biological change detection unit 16 has a function of detecting changes in organisms based on behavioral data of a biological species, using the species data DB 11, the observation data DB 12, and the map data DB 13. For example, the biological change detection unit 16 compares the current behavioral data of a biological species with past behavioral data of the same biological species, and detects changes in the organism based on differences between the behavioral data.
[0032] The environmental change detection unit 17 has a function of detecting environmental changes related to the habitat of the organism by using the map data DB 13 and the land use status data DB 14. For example, the environmental change detection unit 17 compares current environmental data with past environmental data, and detects environmental changes related to the habitat of the organism based on the differences between the environmental data.
[0033] The display unit 18 has a function of using the map data DB 13 to allow the user to select a desired location and display a map image on the screen. The display unit 18 has a function of using the species data DB 11 to display on the screen a plurality of biological species that inhabit a location or area selected by the user. The display unit 18 has a function of passing the biological species selected by the user to the biological behavior detection unit 15.
[0034] The display unit 18 has a function of displaying on a screen the changes in the organisms detected by the organism change detection unit 16. The changes in the organisms are displayed for each organism species selected by the user. For example, the display unit 18 displays the amount of change in the organisms' changes obtained from the changes in the organism's behavioral data over time as a numerical value, superimposed on a map image showing the habitat of the organism.
[0035] The display unit 18 has a function of displaying on a screen the environmental changes detected by the environmental change detection unit 17. For example, the display unit 18 displays the changed environmental information superimposed on a map image showing the habitat of the organism, and displays text information indicating the environmental change on the screen.
[0036] In this way, changes in living organisms and environmental changes are displayed together on the screen, allowing users to become aware of changes in both the organisms and the environment. For example, users can notice that "the behavior of horse mackerel near the fishing port has changed. This may be due to the installation of wind power generation equipment."
[0037] The alert output unit 19 has a function of determining whether the amount of change in the organism detected by the organism change detection unit 16 exceeds a preset threshold. If the amount of change in the organism exceeds the threshold, an alert indicating that there has been a change in the organism's behavior is autonomously issued. If the amount of change in the organism does not exceed the threshold, no alert is issued.
[0038] Fig. 2 is a diagram showing an example of installation of sensor terminals 2. Multiple sensor terminals 2 are installed throughout the country and are communicatively connected to the detection device 1 via a dedicated or public wireless or wired communication network 4. Fig. 2 shows an example in which a total of nine sensor terminals 2 are installed in a 3x3 arrangement on land and in the ocean near a fishing port in order to conserve endangered fish species.
[0039] [Operation] FIG. 3 is a diagram showing the flow of the organism observation process performed by the sensor terminal 2.
[0040] The observation unit 21 continuously observes various organisms present in the installation area, such as on land or sea, and generates observation data of the organisms at any time, including the sounds, images, acceleration, and observation time of the observed organisms (step S101).
[0041] Every time the observation data of a living organism is generated, the communication unit 22 transfers the generated observation data of the living organism to the detection device 1 (step S102).
[0042] The plurality of sensor terminals 2 are always in operation, and each executes the above process in its respective installation area. The organism observation data transferred from each of the plurality of sensor terminals 2 is received by the organism behavior detection unit 15 of the detection device 1, and stored in the observation data DB 12 in association with the ID of the sensor terminal 2.
[0043] FIG. 4 is a diagram showing a process flow for detecting changes in a living organism performed by the detection device 1.
[0044] The biological behavior detection unit 15 receives biological observation data from the sensor terminal 2 or acquires the latest biological observation data from the observation data DB 12, and uses the species data DB 11 and map data DB 13 to calculate the biological species, population density, population density distribution data, number of individuals, biological location information, biological orientation, biological posture, biological activity level, biological activity amount, etc., and detects them as biological species behavior data (step S201).
[0045] The organism behavior detection unit 15 determines whether behavior data of all organism species in the area has been detected (step S202). If behavior data of all organism species has been detected, the process proceeds to step S203. If behavior data of all organism species has not been detected, the process returns to step S201.
[0046] The biological change detection unit 16 uses the species data DB11, observation data DB12, and map data DB13 to compare the current behavioral data of the biological species generated in step S201 with past behavioral data based on past observation data of the same area and the same biological species, and detects changes in the organisms from differences in the behavioral status, population, etc. of the biological species (step S203).
[0047] FIG. 5 is a diagram showing a process flow for detecting a change in the environment, which is performed by the detection device 1. As shown in FIG.
[0048] The environmental change detection unit 17 uses the map data DB 13 to compare the current map data with map data from two years ago, and detects environmental changes from differences such as the presence or absence of newly constructed structures (step S301).
[0049] Even if there are no new structures, environmental changes may be detected based on the land use status map in the land use status data DB 14 if there are candidate facilities that may have a negative impact on living organisms, if the use pattern of the land or facilities has changed, or if the topography of the land or river has changed. Environmental changes may also be detected based on the soil contamination status survey results report, based on the presence or absence of construction work on the land or structures and the level of soil contamination. Any method capable of detecting environmental changes may be used.
[0050] The environmental change detection unit 17 may extract in advance facilities that may have an impact on living things based on land use maps, soil contamination survey results reports, etc., and store in advance a list including the names of these facilities in the land use data DB 14. Note that methods for determining the level of soil contamination, etc., from reports, etc., can be realized using existing technology.
[0051] FIG. 6 is a diagram showing the flow of the alert output process performed by the detection device 1.
[0052] The alert output unit 19 receives the detection result of the biological change from the biological change detection unit 16 (step S401).
[0053] The alert output unit 19 determines whether the amount of change in the organism exceeds a preset threshold (step S402). If the amount of change exceeds the threshold, the process proceeds to step S403. If the amount of change does not exceed the threshold, the process ends.
[0054] The alert output unit 19 notifies the user of an alert indicating that there has been a change in the behavior of the living thing (step S403).
[0055] FIG. 7 is a diagram showing a process flow of a user's operation performed on the detection device 1.
[0056] The living organism behavior detection unit 15 repeatedly sends an acquisition request to all the sensor terminals 2 at regular time intervals to acquire observation data of the living organism (step S501).
[0057] The living organism behavior detection unit 15 determines whether or not the living organism observation data has been acquired from all the sensor terminals 2 (step S502). If the living organism observation data has been acquired from all the sensor terminals 2, the process proceeds to step S503. If the living organism observation data has not been acquired from all the sensor terminals 2, the process returns to step S501.
[0058] The display unit 18 retrieves the map data from the map data DB 13 and displays the retrieved map data on the screen (step S503).
[0059] The display unit 18 accepts the user's selection of a detection target area for the displayed map, and displays the map of the detection target area selected by the user on the screen (step S504). For example, a map of the vicinity of a fishing port shown in Fig. 8 is displayed. At this time, the display unit 18 uses the species data DB 11 to display all biological species inhabiting the detection target area on the same screen.
[0060] The display unit 18 accepts the selection of a biological species by the user (step S505).
[0061] Steps S201 to S203 and step S301 are executed for the biological species selected by the user (step S506). That is, for each generation species selected by the user, behavioral data of the biological species is generated, and changes in the organism are detected based on the results of comparing the current behavioral data of the biological species with past behavioral data of the same biological species in the same area. Furthermore, changes in the environment are detected based on the results of comparing the current environmental data with past environmental data.
[0062] The display unit 18 superimposes the behavioral data of the biological species for each biological species selected by the user on a map of the detection area, including artificial structures (for example, roads and buildings on land, or marine facilities and undersea cables on the sea), superimposes a numerical value representing the amount of change in the biological species, and superimposes changes in the environment (step S507).
[0063] For example, as shown in Fig. 9, "15" is superimposed on the A1 column of the map to indicate a change in the living organisms. In the comments column, "The facilities in this vicinity are a fishing port, a fish pen, and a wind power generation facility. A wind power generation facility was installed six months ago." is displayed to indicate a change in the environment.
[0064] Finally, steps S401 to S403 are executed for the biological species selected by the user (step S508). That is, if the amount of change in the biological species exceeds the threshold, an alert is sent to the user indicating that there has been a change in the behavior of the biological species.
[0065] For example, as shown in Fig. 9, the "30" in column B2, which exceeds the threshold, is surrounded by a rectangle, and the comment column displays "A change in behavior was observed in B2." The user can realize that "the behavior of living creatures has changed near the fishing port, but the pollution status of the most recent fishing port showed a bad value, and it is possible that this has caused the behavior of living creatures to change."
[0066] [Effects] According to this embodiment, in a detection system comprising a detection device 1 and a sensor terminal 2, the sensor terminal 2 comprises an observation unit 21 that observes organisms and a communication unit 22 that transfers observation data of the organisms that have observed the organisms to the detection device, and the detection device 1 comprises a organism behavior detection unit 15 that detects behavioral data of a biological species related to the species of the organism based on the observation data of the organism, an organism change detection unit 16 that compares current behavioral data with past behavioral data of the biological species and detects changes in the organism based on differences between the behavioral data, an environmental change detection unit 17 that compares current environmental data with past environmental data and detects changes in the environment related to the habitat of the organism based on differences between the environmental data, and a display unit 18 that superimposes the changes in the organism and the changes in the environment on a map image showing the habitat of the organism.
[0067] In other words, the process of observing living organisms is automated by the sensor terminal 2, and the process of detecting the behavior of living organisms from the results of observation of the organisms, the process of detecting changes in living organisms from their behavior, and the process of detecting changes in the environment from changes in the environment are automated by the detection device 1, making it possible to detect changes in living organisms and the environment simultaneously and more quickly than if each process were performed manually.
[0068] [Other Embodiments] In the present embodiment, the detection device 1 and the sensor terminal 2 are configured separately, but an integrated device or apparatus may be used that includes both the detection device 1 and the sensor terminal 2. For example, a plurality of identical detection devices 1 may be configured, and each detection device 1 may be equipped with a sensor terminal 2.
[0069] [Others] The present disclosure is not limited to the above-described embodiments. Numerous modifications of the present disclosure are possible within the scope of the gist of the present disclosure. The present disclosure is applicable to organisms living in various places, such as on land, underground, on the sea, underwater, and in the air.
