Description
Detection system, sensor terminal, detection device, observation method, detection method, observation program, and detection program
[0001] The present disclosure relates to a detection system, a sensor terminal, a detection device, an observation method, a detection method, an observation program, and a detection program.
[0002] From the viewpoint of biodiversity conservation, it is becoming increasingly important to accurately detect changes occurring in organisms and the environment. One method for doing so is to predict the rate of change in environmental observation values and detect sudden environmental changes (Patent Document 1). In addition, in the aquaculture and livestock industries, there are systems that constantly monitor information on organisms and the environment and issue alerts when abnormalities are detected.
[0003] JP 2016-114495 A
[0004] However, it is difficult to apply the above-mentioned conventional technologies to natural environments where various biological species and environmental information coexist. This is because monitoring a single biological species or simple environmental conditions only provides a partial understanding of the wide-area natural environment. Therefore, the accuracy of these technologies is insufficient to detect changes in organisms and the environment in the natural environment.

[0016] [Summary] In the natural environment, it is necessary to comprehensively grasp the changes that have occurred in living organisms and the environment, taking into consideration human activities (urban development, leisure, water and soil pollution, etc.).
[0017] Therefore, the present disclosure focuses on the reasons for the behavior of living organisms and detects changes that have occurred in the organisms and the environment. That is, human activities that may be factors in the behavior of living organisms are estimated as the reasons for changes that have occurred in the organisms and the environment, and the estimated human activities are displayed together with the changes that have occurred in the organisms and the environment.
[0018] In this way, human activities that may be factors in the behavior of living things are displayed together with changes that have occurred in the living things and the environment, so that changes that have occurred in the living things and the environment can be accurately detected.
[0019] [System Configuration] FIG. 1 is a diagram showing an example of the configuration of a detection system according to this embodiment.
[0020] The detection system is a system that operates continuously and accurately detects changes that occur in an organism based on the organism's behavior in real time and accurately detects changes that occur in the environment in real time. The detection system includes, for example, a detection device 1 and a plurality of sensor terminals 3.
[0021] The sensor terminals 3 are installed at multiple locations and are terminals that observe living organisms at each location. The sensor terminals 3 include, for example, an observation unit 31 that observes living organisms and a communication unit 32 that transfers observation data of the observed living organisms to the detection device 1 wirelessly or via a wired connection.
[0022] The type of the sensor terminal 3 may be any type, such as an acoustic device, a hydrophone, an ultrasonic device, a radar, an acceleration sensor, an imaging device, etc. The shape of the sensor terminal 3 may be either a floating type (a buoy, an unmanned aerial vehicle, etc.) or a fixed type (fixed to land, fixed to an artificial object, etc.).
[0023] The detection device 1 is a device that continuously detects the behavior of living organisms using observation data of living organisms observed by the sensor terminal 3, various databases within the detection device 1, and data on the Internet, detects changes in the living organisms and changes in the environment, and estimates and calculates the reasons for each change. When a user starts operation, the detection device 1 displays the detection results of the detected changes in the living organisms and changes in the environment on the screen, and also displays the reasons for each change on the screen. The detection device 1 also has an alert function that automatically issues an alert without user operation.
[0024] The detection device 1 may be mounted on any medium such as a server device, a personal computer device, a smartphone terminal, or a tablet terminal.
[0025] The detection device 1 includes, for example, a species data DB 11, an observation data DB 12, a map data DB 13, a land use status data DB 14, an ecosystem risk data DB 15, a biological behavior detection unit 16, a biological change detection unit 17, an environmental change detection unit 18, a behavior reason estimation unit 19, a display unit 20, and an alert output unit 21.
[0026] The species data DB 11 has a function of storing species data relating to species of organisms, such as the species name of the organism, the habitat distribution area of the organism, etc. The species data DB 11 is used, for example, when the organism behavior detection unit 16 identifies the organism species, and when the display unit 20 displays the organism species on the screen.
[0027] The observation data DB 12 has a function of storing observation data of living organisms continuously transferred from each of the plurality of sensor terminals 3. The observation data DB 12 is used, for example, when the living organism change detection unit 17 detects a change in a living organism.
[0028] The map data DB 13 has the function of storing map data for all parts of the country. The map data has a data structure that includes the names and locations of roads, buildings, etc. Topographical information is also stored so that land and ocean can be identified. The latest map data is obtained from a map data management device (not shown) on the Internet 5 and stored together with past map data. The map data DB 13 is used, for example, when the environmental change detection unit 18 detects environmental changes and when the display unit 20 displays map data on the screen.
[0029] The land use status data DB 14 has a function of storing land use status data relating to land use status, such as land use status maps and soil contamination status survey results reports provided by administrative agencies. The land use status data DB 14 also stores land use status information acquired from outside as information on human activity, such as carbon dioxide emissions, wastewater volume from facilities, and the number of aircraft and ship traffic. The land use status data DB 14 is used, for example, when the environmental change detection unit 18 detects environmental changes, and when the behavior reason estimation unit 19 estimates and calculates human activities that are factors in the behavior of living organisms.
[0030] The ecosystem risk data DB 15 has a function of storing candidate information on risks to ecosystems caused by human activities. The ecosystem risk data DB 15 is used, for example, when the behavior reason estimation unit 19 estimates and calculates human activities that are factors in the behavior of living organisms.
[0031] The organism behavior detection unit 16 has a function of detecting (generating) organism species behavior data relating to the behavior of the organism species by calculating the organism behavior amount and the like using the species data DB 11, observation data DB 12, and map data DB 13 based on the organism observation data transferred from the plurality of sensor terminals 3. The organism behavior detection unit 16 may be provided in each of the plurality of sensor terminals 3.
[0032] The biological change detection unit 17 has a function of detecting changes in organisms based on behavioral data of a biological species, using the species data DB 11, the observation data DB 12, and the map data DB 13. For example, the biological change detection unit 17 compares the current behavioral data of a biological species with past behavioral data of the same biological species, and detects changes in the organism based on differences between the behavioral data.
[0033] The environmental change detection unit 18 has a function of detecting environmental changes related to the habitat of the organism by using the map data DB 13 and the land use status data DB 14. For example, the environmental change detection unit 18 compares current environmental data with past environmental data, and detects environmental changes related to the habitat of the organism based on the differences between the environmental data.
[0034] The behavior reason estimation unit 19 has a function of estimating and calculating human activities that are factors in the behavior data of biological species (reasons for the behavior of organisms) as reasons for changes in organisms and the environment, using the species data DB11, observation data DB12, map data DB13, land use status data DB14, and ecosystem risk data DB15.
[0035] The display unit 20 has a function of using the map data DB 13 to allow the user to select a desired location and display a map image on the screen. The display unit 20 has a function of using the species data DB 11 to display on the screen a plurality of biological species that inhabit a location or area selected by the user. The display unit 20 has a function of passing the biological species selected by the user to the biological behavior detection unit 16.
[0036] The display unit 20 has a function of displaying on the screen the changes in the organisms detected by the organism change detection unit 17. The changes in the organisms are displayed for each organism species selected by the user. For example, the display unit 20 displays the amount of change in the organisms' changes obtained from the changes in the organism's behavioral data over time as a numerical value, superimposed on a map image showing the habitat of the organism.
[0037] The display unit 20 has a function of displaying on the screen the environmental changes detected by the environmental change detection unit 18. For example, the display unit 20 displays the changed environmental information superimposed on a map image showing the habitat of the organism, and displays text information indicating the environmental change on the screen.
[0038] In this way, changes in living organisms and environmental changes are displayed together on the screen, allowing users to become aware of changes in both the organisms and the environment. For example, users can notice that "the behavior of horse mackerel near the fishing port has changed. This may be due to the installation of wind power generation equipment."
[0039] Furthermore, the display unit 20 has a function of displaying on the screen the human activities estimated and calculated by the reason-for-behavior estimation unit 19. The human activities are displayed for each biological species selected by the user.
[0040] In this way, in addition to changes in the organisms and the environment, the human activities that caused those changes (the reasons for the organisms' behavior) are also displayed on the screen, so the user can be provided with accurate information about the organisms and the environment. For example, they can realize that "there is a possibility that increased electricity consumption has had an impact."
[0041] The alert output unit 21 has a function of determining whether the amount of change in the organism detected by the organism change detection unit 17 exceeds a preset threshold. If the amount of change in the organism exceeds the threshold, an alert indicating that there has been a change in the organism's behavior is autonomously issued. If the amount of change in the organism does not exceed the threshold, no alert is issued.
[0042] Fig. 2 is a diagram showing an example of installation of the sensor terminals 3. Multiple sensor terminals 3 are installed throughout the country and are communicatively connected to the detection device 1 via a dedicated or public wireless or wired communication network 7. Fig. 2 shows an example in which a total of nine sensor terminals 3 are installed in a 3x3 arrangement on land and in the ocean near a fishing port in order to conserve endangered fish species.
[0043] [Operation] FIG. 3 is a diagram showing a flow of a process of observing a living thing performed by the sensor terminal 3. As shown in FIG.
[0044] The observation unit 31 continuously observes various organisms present in the installation area, such as on land or sea, and generates observation data of the organisms at any time, including the sounds, images, acceleration, and observation time of the observed organisms (step S101).
[0045] Every time the observation data of a living organism is generated, the communication unit 32 transfers the generated observation data of the living organism to the detection device 1 (step S102).
[0046] The plurality of sensor terminals 3 are always in operation and execute the above process in their respective installation areas. The organism observation data transferred from the plurality of sensor terminals 3 is received by the organism behavior detection unit 16 of the detection device 1, and stored in the observation data DB 12 in association with the ID of the sensor terminal 3.
[0047] FIG. 4 is a diagram showing a process flow for detecting changes in a living organism performed by the detection device 1.
[0048] The biological behavior detection unit 16 receives biological observation data from the sensor terminal 3 or acquires the latest biological observation data from the observation data DB 12, and uses the species data DB 11 and map data DB 13 to calculate the biological species, population density, population density distribution data, number of individuals, biological location information, biological orientation, biological posture, biological activity level, biological activity amount, etc., and detects them as biological species behavior data (step S201).
[0049] The organism behavior detection unit 16 determines whether behavior data of all organism species in the area has been detected (step S202). If behavior data of all organism species has been detected, the process proceeds to step S203. If behavior data of all organism species has not been detected, the process returns to step S201.
[0050] The biological change detection unit 17 uses the species data DB11, observation data DB12, and map data DB13 to compare the current behavioral data of the biological species generated in step S201 with past behavioral data based on past observation data of the same area and the same biological species, and detects changes in the organisms from differences in the behavioral status, population, etc. of the biological species (step S203).
[0051] FIG. 5 is a diagram showing a process flow for detecting a change in the environment, which is performed by the detection device 1. As shown in FIG.
[0052] The environmental change detection unit 18 uses the map data DB 13 to compare the current map data with the map data from two years ago, and detects environmental changes from differences such as the presence or absence of newly constructed structures (step S301).
[0053] Even if there are no new structures, environmental changes may be detected based on the land use status map in the land use status data DB 14 if there are candidate facilities that may have a negative impact on living organisms, if the use pattern of the land or facilities has changed, or if the topography of the land or river has changed. Environmental changes may also be detected based on the soil contamination status survey results report, based on the presence or absence of construction work on the land or structures and the level of soil contamination. Any method capable of detecting environmental changes may be used.
[0054] The environmental change detection unit 18 may extract in advance facilities that may have an impact on living things based on land use maps, soil contamination survey results reports, etc., and store in advance a list including the names of these facilities in the land use data DB 14. Note that methods for determining the level of soil contamination from reports, etc., can be realized using existing technology.
[0055] FIG. 6 is a diagram showing a process flow of the detection device 1 for estimating the reason for a living creature's behavior.
[0056] The behavior reason estimation unit 19 receives behavior data of the organism from the organism behavior detection unit 16, and receives the detection result of the organism change from the organism change detection unit 17 (step S401).
[0057] The behavior reason estimation unit 19 determines whether or not there has been a change in the behavior of the organism based on the behavior data of the organism (step S402). For example, if the amount of change in the organism's behavior exceeds a threshold, the behavior reason estimation unit 19 determines that there has been a change in the organism's behavior. If there has been a change in the organism's behavior, the process proceeds to step S403. If there has been no change in the organism's behavior, the process ends.
[0058] The reason-for-behavior estimation unit 19 estimates and calculates human activities that are factors in the behavior of organisms (reason for the organism's behavior) based on the land use status information in the land use status data DB 14 and the risk candidate information in the ecosystem risk data DB 15 (step S403). For example, the reason-for-behavior estimation unit 19 estimates and calculates human activities that are related to the organism's behavior based on the proximity of a time or region in which a certain amount of carbon dioxide was emitted to the observation time or observation area of the organism.
[0059] The reason for behavior estimation unit 19 associates the estimated and calculated human activity with the detection result of the change in the living thing (step S404).
[0060] The reason for behavior estimation unit 19 passes the information relating the human activity to the detection result of the change in the living thing to the display unit 20 (step S405).
[0061] Here, we have explained a method for estimating the reasons for an organism's behavior in response to changes in the organism, but a similar estimation method can also be used to estimate environmental changes. For example, in response to an environmental change such as a change in water quality that occurred at a specific time, we can estimate a human activity such as wastewater from a factory that occurred at the same time and in the same vicinity. In this case, the estimated human activity can be associated with the detection result of the environmental change.
[0062] FIG. 7 is a diagram showing the flow of the alert output process performed by the detection device 1.
[0063] The alert output unit 21 receives the detection result of a biological change from the biological change detection unit 17 (step S501).
[0064] The alert output unit 21 determines whether the amount of change in the organism exceeds a preset threshold (step S502). If the amount of change exceeds the threshold, the process proceeds to step S503. If the amount of change does not exceed the threshold, the process ends.
[0065] The alert output unit 21 notifies the user of an alert indicating that there has been a change in the behavior of the living thing (step S503).
[0066] FIG. 8 is a diagram showing a process flow of a user's operation performed on the detection device 1.
[0067] The living organism behavior detection unit 16 repeatedly sends an acquisition request to all the sensor terminals 3 at regular time intervals to acquire observation data of the living organism (step S601).
[0068] The living organism behavior detection unit 16 determines whether or not the living organism observation data has been acquired from all the sensor terminals 3 (step S602). If the living organism observation data has been acquired from all the sensor terminals 3, the process proceeds to step S603. If the living organism observation data has not been acquired from all the sensor terminals 3, the process returns to step S601.
[0069] The display unit 20 retrieves the map data from the map data DB 13 and displays the retrieved map data on the screen (step S603).
[0070] The display unit 20 accepts the user's selection of a detection target area for the displayed map, and displays the map of the detection target area selected by the user on the screen (step S604). For example, a map of the vicinity of a fishing port shown in Fig. 9 is displayed. At this time, the display unit 20 uses the species data DB 11 to display all biological species inhabiting the detection target area on the same screen.
[0071] The display unit 20 accepts the selection of a biological species by the user (step S605).
[0072] The reason for behavior estimation unit 19 extracts land use status information of the detection target area from the land use status data DB 14 (step S606).
[0073] The reason for behavior estimation unit 19 extracts risk candidate information from the ecosystem risk data DB 15 (step S607).
[0074] Steps S201 to S203, step S301, and steps S401 to S405 are executed for the biological species selected by the user (step S608). That is, for each generation species selected by the user, behavioral data of the biological species is generated, and changes in the organism are detected based on the results of comparing the current behavioral data of the biological species with past behavioral data of the same area and the same biological species. Furthermore, changes in the environment are detected based on the results of comparing the current environmental data with past environmental data. Furthermore, human activities that are factors in the behavior of the organisms are estimated. Human activities are associated with changes in the organisms and changes in the environment.
[0075] The display unit 20 superimposes the behavioral data of the biological species for each biological species selected by the user on a map of the detection area, including artificial structures (for example, roads and buildings on land, or marine facilities and undersea cables on the sea), superimposes a numerical value representing the amount of change in the biological species, and superimposes changes in the environment (step S609).
[0076] For example, as shown in Fig. 10, "15" is superimposed on the A1 column of the map to indicate a change in the living organisms. In the comment column, "The facilities in this vicinity are a fishing port, a fish pen, and a wind power generation facility. A wind power generation facility was installed six months ago." is displayed to indicate a change in the environment.
[0077] The display unit 20 displays human activities related to changes in living organisms and environmental changes superimposed on a map of the detection target area (step S610).
[0078] For example, as shown in FIG. 11, a message "Power consumption at facilities near the selected location is increasing significantly" is superimposed on the map shown in FIG.
[0079] Finally, steps S501 to S503 are executed for the biological species selected by the user (step S611). That is, if the amount of change in the biological species exceeds the threshold, an alert is sent to the user indicating that there has been a change in the behavior of the biological species.
[0080] 10 and 11, for example, the number "30" in column B2, which exceeds the threshold, is surrounded by a rectangle, and the comment column displays "A change in behavior was observed in B2." The user can realize that "the behavior of living creatures has changed near the fishing port, but the most recent pollution status report for the fishing port shows a bad value, and power consumption has increased significantly, which may have caused the behavior of living creatures to change."
[0081] [Effects] According to this embodiment, in a detection system comprising a detection device and a sensor terminal, the sensor terminal 3 comprises an observation unit 31 that observes organisms and a communication unit 32 that transfers observation data of the organisms that have observed the organisms to the detection device, and the detection device 1 comprises a organism behavior detection unit 16 that detects behavioral data of the organism species related to the behavior of the organism species based on the observation data of the organism, an organism change detection unit 17 that detects changes in the organism based on the behavioral data of the organism species, an environmental change detection unit 18 that detects changes in the environment related to the habitat of the organism, a behavior reason estimation unit 19 that estimates and calculates human activity that is a cause of the behavioral data of the organism species as the reason for the change in the organism and the change in the environment, and a display unit 20 that displays the change in the organism, the change in the environment, and the human activity on a screen.
[0082] That is, human activities that are factors in the behavior of living things are displayed together with changes that have occurred in the living things and the environment, so that changes that have occurred in the living things and the environment can be accurately detected.
[0083] [Other Embodiments] In the present embodiment, the detection device 1 and the sensor terminal 2 are configured separately, but an integrated device or apparatus may be used that includes both the detection device 1 and the sensor terminal 2. For example, a plurality of identical detection devices 1 may be configured, and each detection device 1 may be equipped with a sensor terminal 2.

Numerous modifications of the present disclosure are possible within the scope of the gist of the present disclosure. The present disclosure is applicable to organisms living in various places, such as on land, underground, on the sea, underwater, and in the air.
[0085] The detection device 1 of the present embodiment described above can be realized using a general-purpose computer system including a CPU 901, a memory 902, a storage 903, a communication device 904, an input device 905, and an output device 906, as shown in Fig. 12. The memory 902 and the storage 903 are storage devices.
