Terms such as "first," "second," or "first" or "second" may be used merely to distinguish one component from another, and do not limit the components in any other respect (e.g., importance or order). When a component (e.g., a first component) is referred to as "coupled" or "connected" to another (e.g., a second component), with or without the terms "functionally" or "communicatively," it means that the component can be connected to the other component directly (e.g., wired), wirelessly, or through a third component.

[0070] The term "module" used in various embodiments of the present disclosure may include a unit implemented in hardware, software, or firmware, and may be used interchangeably with terms such as logic, logic block, component, or circuit. A module may be an integral component, or a minimum unit or part of such a component that performs one or more functions. For example, according to one embodiment, a module may be implemented in the form of an application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC).

[0071] Various embodiments of the present disclosure may be implemented as software (e.g., a program (#40)) including one or more commands stored in a storage medium (e.g., an internal memory (#36) or an external memory (#38)) readable by a machine (e.g., an electronic device (#01)). For example, a processor (e.g., a processor (#20)) of the machine (e.g., an electronic device (#01)) may call at least one command among the one or more commands stored from the storage medium and execute it. This enables the machine to operate to perform at least one function according to the at least one command called. The one or more commands may include code generated by a compiler or code executable by an interpreter. The machine-readable storage medium may be provided in the form of a non-transitory storage medium. Here, 'non-transitory' simply means that the storage medium is a tangible device and does not contain signals (e.g., electromagnetic waves), and the term does not distinguish between cases where data is stored semi-permanently or temporarily on the storage medium.

[0072] According to one embodiment, the method according to various embodiments disclosed in the present disclosure may be provided as included in a computer program product. The computer program product may be traded as a commodity between a seller and a buyer. The computer program product may be distributed in the form of a machine-readable storage medium (e.g., compact disc read-only memory (CD-ROM)), or may be distributed online (e.g., downloaded or uploaded) via an application store (e.g., Play Store™) or directly between two user devices (e.g., smart phones). In the case of online distribution, at least a portion of the computer program product may be temporarily stored or temporarily generated in a machine-readable storage medium, such as the memory of a manufacturer's server, an application store's server, or a relay server.

[0073] According to various embodiments, each component (e.g., a module or a program) of the above-described components may include one or more entities, and some of the entities may be separated and placed in other components. According to various embodiments, one or more components or operations of the aforementioned components may be omitted, or one or more other components or operations may be added. Alternatively or additionally, a plurality of components (e.g., a module or a program) may be integrated into a single component. In such a case, the integrated component may perform one or more functions of each of the plurality of components identically or similarly to those performed by the corresponding component among the plurality of components prior to the integration. According to various embodiments, the operations performed by a module, program, or other component may be executed sequentially, in parallel, iteratively, or heuristically, or one or more of the operations may be executed in a different order, omitted, or one or more other operations may be added.

[0074] FIG. 2 is a block diagram briefly illustrating the configuration of an electronic device according to one embodiment.

[0075] Referring to FIG. 2, an electronic device (200) according to an embodiment of the present disclosure may include a communication circuit (210), a memory (220), and a processor (230). However, the configuration of the electronic device (200) is not limited thereto, and may include only some of the components described above in FIG. 2, or may further include at least one or more other components (e.g., an antenna module or a display module) in addition to the components described above. For example, the electronic device (200) of FIG. 2 may correspond to the electronic device (101) of FIG. 1. Accordingly, the communication circuit (210) may correspond to the communication module (190) or the wireless communication module (192) of FIG. 1. Additionally, the memory (220) and the processor (230) may correspond to the memory (130) and the processor (120) of FIG. 1, and if the electronic device (200) further includes other components, the other components may also correspond to the components of FIG. 1.

[0076] The communication circuit (210) can support short-range wireless communication between the electronic device (200) and an external electronic device. For example, the communication circuit (210) can transmit and receive signals and / or data using a frequency band supported by wireless communication according to a prescribed wireless communication protocol with the external electronic device. In one embodiment, the communication circuit (210) can communicate with the external electronic device via a short-range wireless communication network such as ultra-wideband (UWB), Bluetooth, low-power Bluetooth, wireless fidelity (WiFi) direct, or infrared data association (IrDA). However, the short-range wireless communication network is not limited to the examples described above, and various types of short-range wireless communication networks can be used.

[0077] In one embodiment, the communication circuit (210) may include an UWB module. UWB is a wireless communication technology that uses a bandwidth of 500 MHz or more according to the IEEE 802.15.4 standard, and due to its characteristic of using a wide frequency band, it can be used to measure precise distances and angles. The IEEE 802.15.4z standard has enhanced security and increased usability by introducing a scrambled timestamp sequence (STS) function that prevents external attackers from accessing or manipulating UWB communications at the physical layer.

[0078] The memory (220) stores instructions for the operation of the electronic device (200). At least one instruction may correspond to the program (140) of FIG. 1. The instructions may be executed by the processor (230), and by executing the instructions by the processor (230), the electronic device (200) may perform operations according to an embodiment of the present disclosure.

[0079] The processor (230) can control at least one other component of the electronic device (200) and perform various data processing or calculations. For example, the processor (230) can execute instructions for controlling the communication circuit (210). By executing the instructions for controlling the communication circuit (210), the processor (230) can perform short-range wireless communication between external electronic devices.

[0080] In one embodiment, the processor (230) may perform location measurement by executing instructions. More specifically, the processor (230) may perform an operation of obtaining distance information of a target electronic device from a plurality of measurement locations, an operation of obtaining first location information of the target electronic device based on the distance information, an operation of identifying the accuracy of the first location information based on the plurality of measurement locations and the first location information, and an operation of determining the location of the target electronic device based on the accuracy of the first location information. Specific operations will be described in detail below.

[0081] According to one embodiment, the operations described as being performed by the electronic device (200) in the present disclosure may be understood to be performed by the processor (230).

[0082] FIG. 3 is a diagram illustrating a distance measurement operation between an electronic device and a target electronic device according to one embodiment.

[0083] The electronic device (200) can communicate with the target electronic device (300) using the communication circuit (210). The electronic device (200) can obtain the distance and / or direction to the target electronic device (300) using signals received from at least one antenna. In this case, the electronic device (200) may first establish a connection with the target electronic device (300) and then perform a measurement operation for the distance and / or direction.

[0084] The target electronic device (300) can support the short-range wireless communication supported by the electronic device (200) in the same manner. For example, if the electronic device (200) includes a UWB module and supports UWB communication, the target electronic device (300) also includes a UWB module and supports UWB communication, thereby being able to communicate with the electronic device (200). In one embodiment, the target electronic device (300) may include components for communicating with the electronic device (200), for example, a processor and an antenna module. However, this is only an example of the components of the target electronic device (300), and the configuration of the target electronic device (300) is not limited thereto, and may include only some of the above-described components, or may further include at least one or more other components in addition to the above-described components.

[0085] In one embodiment, the electronic device (200) can measure the distance to the target electronic device (300). For example, the electronic device (200) can estimate the distance from the target electronic device (300) based on the strength of a signal received from the target electronic device (300). Alternatively, the electronic device (200) can estimate the distance from the target electronic device (300) based on the transmission time of packets exchanged with the target electronic device (300).

[0086] In one embodiment, when the communication circuit (210) includes a UWB module, the electronic device (200) can measure the distance between the electronic device (200) and the target electronic device (300) using the UWB module. At this time, the electronic device (200) can measure the distance to the target electronic device (300) using a method such as single side two way ranging (SS-TWR) or double side two way ranging (DS-TWR), or can measure the distance between the target electronic device (300) and a plurality of target electronic devices using a method such as uplink time difference of arrival (UL-TDoA) or downlink time difference of arrival (DL-TDoA).

[0087] In order to measure the distance between the electronic device (200) and the target electronic device (300), the electronic device (200) may first establish a connection with the target electronic device (300) and then perform a distance measurement operation. At this time, the connection with the target electronic device (300) may utilize UWB communication, or may utilize another communication method such as Bluetooth, low-power Bluetooth, WiFi direct, or IrDA to perform the connection operation. The electronic device (200) may recognize the target electronic device (300) through this connection operation and then perform the distance measurement operation.

[0088] According to one embodiment, when using UWB communication, there is an advantage in that the delay time is short and the error is very small, so that the distance can be measured precisely. However, this is only an example of a method for the electronic device (200) to measure the distance to the target electronic device (300), and the electronic device (200) can measure the distance to the target electronic device (300) using various communication modules and communication technologies. For example, the electronic device (200) can also measure the distance to the target electronic device (300) using WiFi direct, Bluetooth, or IrDA.

[0089] FIG. 4 is a diagram illustrating an operation for determining the location of a target electronic device according to one embodiment.

[0090] Referring to FIG. 4, the electronic device (200) moves to positions A, B, and C, and at each measurement position, the position of the electronic device (200) (positions at A, B, and C) and / or the distance (41, 42, 43) between the electronic device (200) and the target electronic device (300) can be measured.

[0091] In one embodiment, the electronic device (200) can obtain its own absolute position (e.g., absolute coordinates) and / or relative position (e.g., relative coordinates) through various methods. For example, the electronic device (200) may include an AR module (not shown) and may obtain the position of the electronic device (200) using the AR module. Here, the AR module may play a role in supporting augmented reality (AR) by including a camera and a sensor. The AR module may independently include hardware such as a camera and a sensor, or may be configured using components of the electronic device (200) illustrated in FIG. 1. For example, the AR module may include a sensor module (176) and a camera module (180). In addition, the AR module may support augmented reality (AR) by using other components, for example, the sensor module (176) and the camera module (180), as a software module.

[0092] In addition, the electronic device (200) may obtain the absolute or relative position of the electronic device (200) by using an external electronic device that already has relative or absolute coordinates determined. In this case, the external electronic device may be described by various names such as an anchor, GPS, or external positioning device. In addition, the electronic device (200) may obtain the position of the electronic device (200) by using not only the AR module but also various devices (for example, a sensor module (176), a camera module (180), an audio module (170), or a GPS module (not shown)) provided by the electronic device.

[0093] In one embodiment, the electronic device (200) can measure the absolute position (e.g., absolute coordinates) or relative position (e.g., relative coordinates) of the target electronic device (300) using the distance between the electronic device (200) and the target electronic device (300). Generally, when the electronic device (200) measures the distance between the electronic device (200) and the target electronic device (300) at three locations, the two-dimensional coordinates of the target electronic device (300) can be obtained, and when the distance between the electronic device (200) and the target electronic device (300) at four or more locations, the three-dimensional coordinates of the target electronic device (300) can be obtained.

[0094] Referring to FIG. 4, when the electronic device (200) measures the position of the electronic device (200) at positions A, B, and C and the distance (43) between the electronic device (200) and the target electronic device (300), the position of the target electronic device (300) can be measured.

[0095] In this way, when measuring the distance between the electronic device (200) and the target electronic device (300) at three locations, the number of measurements can be minimized to quickly measure the location of the target electronic device (300), but the accuracy may be reduced for various reasons. For example, the distance may be measured incorrectly due to an obstacle on a specific path that prevents proper signals from being received, or the strength of the received signal may be reduced, and the error may increase depending on the arrangement of the measurement locations where the electronic device (200) measures the distance from the target electronic device (300). More specifically, the distance (42) between location B and the target electronic device (300) may be measured incorrectly due to a concrete wall or another device using a similar frequency between location B and the target electronic device (300), or a meaningful measurement value may not be obtained. Alternatively, if the measurement locations A, B, and C, where the electronic device (200) measures the distance to the target electronic device (300), are too close or are tilted in one direction relative to the target electronic device (300), the error may increase.

[0096] According to one embodiment of the present disclosure, if the accuracy of the measured location is determined to be low, the accuracy can be improved by measuring the distance between the electronic device (200) and the target electronic device (300) at at least one additional measurement location. For example, the electronic device (200) can additionally measure the distance from the target electronic device (300) at location D.

[0097] FIG. 5 is a flowchart illustrating an operation method of an electronic device according to one embodiment.

[0098] In operation 510, the electronic device (200) can obtain measurement location information including a plurality of measurement locations and distance information including a plurality of distances between the plurality of measurement locations and the target electronic device (300).

[0099] In one embodiment, the electronic device (200) can obtain location information for a plurality of measurement locations by measuring the location of the electronic device (200) at each measurement location. As described above, the electronic device (200) can obtain its own absolute location (e.g., absolute coordinates) and / or relative location (e.g., relative coordinates) through various methods. For example, the electronic device (200) may be equipped with an AR module (not shown) and may obtain the location of the electronic device (200) using the AR module. In addition, the electronic device (200) may also obtain the absolute location or relative location of the electronic device (200) using an external electronic device in which relative coordinates or absolute coordinates have already been determined. In this case, the external electronic device may be described by various names such as an anchor, a GPS, or an external positioning device. In addition, the electronic device (200) can obtain the location of the electronic device (200) by using not only the AR module but also various devices (e.g., a sensor module (176), a camera module (180), an audio module (170), or a GPS module (not shown)) that the electronic device has.

[0100] In one embodiment, the electronic device (200) can obtain a plurality of distances between a plurality of measurement locations and the target electronic device (300) by measuring the distance between the electronic device (200) and the target electronic device (300) at each measurement location. In one embodiment, the electronic device (200) can obtain distance information of the target electronic device (300) based on short-range wireless communication. At this time, the electronic device (200) can perform short-range wireless communication with the target electronic device (300) using the communication circuit (210) and obtain the distance information. For example, when the electronic device (200) includes a UWB module, the electronic device (200) can measure the distance to the target electronic device (300) using UWB communication.

[0101] At this time, the electronic device (200) can measure the distance to the target electronic device (300) using a method such as SS-TWR (single side two way ranging) or DS-TWR (double side two way ranging), or can measure the distance between the target electronic device (300) and a plurality of target electronic devices using a method such as UL-TDoA (uplink time difference of arrival) or DL-TDoA (downlink time difference of arrival).

[0102] In order to measure the distance between the electronic device (200) and the target electronic device (300), the electronic device (200) may first establish a connection with the target electronic device (300) and then perform a distance measurement operation.

[0103] According to one embodiment, when using UWB communication, there is an advantage in that the delay time is short and the error is very small, so that the distance can be measured precisely.

[0104] In one embodiment, the electronic device (200) may obtain a first position of the electronic device (200) and a first distance between the electronic device (200) and the target electronic device (300) at a first measurement location, move to a second measurement location different from the first measurement location, obtain a second position of the electronic device (200) and a second distance between the electronic device (200) and the target electronic device (300) at the second measurement location, and move to a third measurement location different from the first and second measurement locations, obtain a third position of the electronic device (200) and a third distance between the electronic device (200) and the target electronic device (300) at the third measurement location.

[0105] At this time, the measurement location information may include a first location, a second location, and a third location. For example, the electronic device (200) may acquire a first location from a first measurement location and store it as measurement location information in the memory (130), move to a second measurement location, acquire a second location, add the second location to the measurement location information, and store it in the memory (130), move to a third measurement location, acquire a third location, add the third location to the measurement location information, and store it in the memory (130).

[0106] Additionally, the distance information may include a first distance, a second distance, and a third distance. For example, the electronic device (200) may acquire a first distance at a first measurement location and store it as distance information in the memory (130), move to a second measurement location and acquire a second distance, add the second location to the distance information, and store it in the memory (130), move to a third measurement location and acquire a third distance, add the third distance to the distance information, and store it in the memory (130).

[0107] According to one embodiment, the electronic device (200) may also obtain the position of the electronic device (200) and the distance between the electronic device (200) and the target electronic device (300) at additional measurement locations, for example, the fourth, fifth, ..., and M-th locations (M is a natural number).

[0108] In one embodiment, the operation of measuring the position of the electronic device (200) at one measurement location and the operation of measuring the distance between the electronic device (200) and the target electronic device (300) may be performed sequentially or simultaneously. For example, after measuring the position of the electronic device (200), the distance between the electronic device (200) and the target electronic device (300) may be measured, or the distance between the electronic device (200) and the target electronic device (300) may be measured, and the position of the electronic device (200) and the distance between the electronic device (200) and the target electronic device (300) may be measured simultaneously.

[0109] In one embodiment, the plurality of measurement locations may include at least some of the locations for obtaining location information of the electronic device (200). That is, the electronic device (200) may measure the location of the electronic device (200) at a plurality of measurement locations for measuring the distance between the electronic device (200) and the target electronic device (300). When the electronic device (200) obtains its own location at N locations and measures the distance to the target electronic device (300) at M measurement locations, the M measurement locations may be some of the N locations (M and N are natural numbers).

[0110] For example, if an electronic device (200) is equipped with an AR module and a UWB module, and acquires the location of the electronic device (200) using the AR module and measures the distance between the electronic device (200) and a target electronic device (300) using the UWB module, the electronic device (200) may measure the distance between the electronic device (200) and the target electronic device (300) using the UWB module at some of the locations where the electronic device (200) acquires the location of the electronic device (200) using the AR module. At this time, the locations for acquiring location information of the electronic device (200) may be determined based on a sampling rate of an operation at which the AR module performs shooting and / or sensing to acquire the location information of the electronic device. In addition, the measurement position for measuring the distance between the electronic device (200) and the target electronic device (300) can be determined based on the sampling rate of the operation in which the UWB module performs distance measurement to measure the distance between the electronic device (200) and the target electronic device (300). In this case, the UWB module can measure the distance between the electronic device (200) and the target electronic device (300) based on the sampling rate of the least common multiple of the sampling rate of the AR module and the sampling rate of the UWB module.

[0111] In one embodiment, the plurality of measurement locations may be arranged at a predetermined distance or more. That is, after the electronic device (200) obtains the position of the electronic device (200) and the distance between the electronic device (200) and the target electronic device (300) at one measurement location, the electronic device (200) may move at a predetermined distance or more to obtain the position of the electronic device (200) and the distance between the electronic device (200) and the target electronic device (300). For example, the first measurement location and the second measurement location may be spaced apart by 20 cm or more.

[0112] In one embodiment, the operation of the electronic device (200) acquiring the location of the electronic device (200) and the operation of acquiring the distance between the electronic device (200) and the target electronic device (300) may be performed in parallel. For example, the electronic device (200) may acquire the location of the electronic device (200) using the AR module and may acquire the distance between the electronic device (200) and the target electronic device (300) using the UWB module. More specifically, the electronic device (200) may measure the location of the electronic device (200) according to the operation cycle or sampling rate of the AR module, while measuring the distance between the electronic device (200) and the target electronic device (300) according to the operation cycle or sampling rate of the UWB module. At this time, the operation cycle of the AR module may be shorter than the operation cycle of the UWB module. For example, the operation cycle of the AR module is very short, about 1 ms, and the operation cycle of the UWB module is relatively long, about 200 ms. Accordingly, the electronic device (200) can operate to measure the distance with the UWB module every 200 ms while measuring the position of the electronic device (200) every 1 ms. Each time the electronic device (200) measures the distance with the UWB module, it can check the position where the distance was previously measured and perform distance measurement when the distance is 20 cm or more away.

[0113] In one embodiment, accuracy may increase as the number of measurements increases and the distance between measurement locations increases. However, increasing the number of measurements or the distance between measurement locations may result in delays in the overall position measurement operation. According to one embodiment of the present disclosure, by minimizing the number of measurements, fast measurement speed and high accuracy can be achieved. This will be described in more detail below.

[0114] In operation 520, the electronic device (200) may obtain first location information of the target electronic device (300) based on the measured location information and distance information. Here, the first location information may include an initial location of the target electronic device (300) measured by the electronic device (200). In general, when the electronic device (200) measures the distance between the electronic device (200) and the target electronic device (300) at three locations, the electronic device (200) may obtain two-dimensional coordinates of the target electronic device (300), and when the electronic device (200) measures the distance between the target electronic device (300) and the target electronic device (300) at four or more locations, the electronic device (200) may obtain three-dimensional coordinates of the target electronic device (300). For example, the electronic device (200) may measure the absolute location (e.g., absolute coordinates) or the relative location (e.g., relative coordinates) of the target electronic device (300) through trilateration. However, without being limited thereto, the electronic device (200) can measure the position of the target electronic device (300) in various ways.

[0115] In one embodiment, the first location information may include measurement location information, i.e., a relative location or an absolute location based on a plurality of measurement locations. That is, the location of the target electronic device (300) may be expressed as a relative location with respect to a plurality of measurement locations. In this case, if the absolute location with respect to a plurality of measurement locations is known, the location of the target electronic device (300) may also be expressed as an absolute location or a relative location with respect to the plurality of measurement locations. In comparison, if the relative location with respect to a plurality of measurement locations is known with respect to a reference location, the location of the target electronic device (300) may also be expressed as a relative location.

[0116] In operation 530, the electronic device (200) can identify the accuracy of the first location information based on the measured location information, the distance information, and the first location information. In one embodiment, the electronic device (200) can obtain a DoP (dilution of precision) value based on the distance information and the first location information, and identify the accuracy of the first location information based on the DoP value.

[0117] DoP (dilution of precision) is a concept that mathematically represents the position measurement accuracy according to the geographical location of an artificial satellite when calculating the distance or distance difference between a device that receives signals from surrounding artificial satellites via GPS and an artificial satellite. In other words, DoP is a parameter that expresses the position measurement accuracy that varies depending on the arrangement of artificial satellites. The smaller the DoP value, the higher the position measurement accuracy, and the larger the DoP value, the lower the position measurement accuracy. In one embodiment of the present disclosure, by borrowing this DoP concept, the accuracy of the measured position of the target electronic device (300) can be identified. More specifically, the electronic device (200) can identify the accuracy of the measurement position that varies depending on the arrangement of a plurality of measurement positions that measure the distance to the target measurement device (300). DoP will be described with reference to FIGS. 6, 7A, and 7B.

[0118] Figure 6 is a diagram for explaining DoP (dilution of precision).

[0119] Referring to Fig. 6, each circle represents a distance from the electronic device to the target tank device, and the thickness of the circle (601) represents a measurement error of the electronic device. Since Fig. 6 assumes that the same electronic device is used to perform position measurements, the measurement errors are the same. The area where the distances measured by the electronic device at two measurement locations overlap, i.e., the area 611 and 621 where the two circles overlap, correspond to an area where the target tank device may exist. Therefore, the narrower the area where the two circles overlap, the narrower the area where the target tank device may exist, and the higher the precision of the position measurement.

[0120] 610 and 620 illustrate the operation of an electronic device performing position measurements at two different locations. Although the same device performs position measurements for a target electronic device through two position measurements at two locations, the size of the area in which the target electronic device can exist varies depending on the arrangement of the measurement locations. More specifically, when position measurements are performed at two measurement locations of 620, the area 621 where the two circles overlap appears larger than the area 611 where the two circles overlap when position measurements are performed at two measurement locations of 610. In other words, the precision may vary depending on the arrangement of the measurement locations at which the electronic device performs position measurements.

[0121] In one embodiment of the present disclosure, the electronic device (200) can identify the accuracy of the location of the target electronic device (300) measured using the DoP value.

[0122] The DOP value can be defined by [Mathematical Formula 1].

Also, (x, y, z) is the location of the target electronic device (300), and (X i , Y i , Z i ) indicates the measurement position of the electronic device (200). r i represents the distance between the electronic device (200) and the target electronic device (300). represents the approximate location of the target electronic device (300), and in one embodiment, may mean first location information, i.e., the initial location of the target electronic device (300) measured by the electronic device (200).

[0126] According to one embodiment of the present disclosure, the smaller the DoP value calculated by [Mathematical Formula 1], the higher the accuracy of the position of the target electronic device (300) measured by the electronic device (200), and the smaller the DoP value, the lower the accuracy of the position of the target electronic device (300) measured by the electronic device (200). In other words, the accuracy is in an inverse relationship with the DoP value.

[0127] According to one embodiment, the electronic device (200) can obtain a measurement location that can reduce the DoP value, i.e., increase accuracy, through [Mathematical Formula 1]. In one embodiment, the electronic device (200) can obtain preferred measurement location information related to the measurement location that can increase accuracy and output it. According to one embodiment of the present disclosure, the electronic device (200) can additionally measure the distance from the target electronic device (300) at an additional measurement location that can increase accuracy based on the output preferred measurement location information, thereby determining the location of the target electronic device (300), thereby providing high accuracy with a minimum number of measurements.

[0128] Returning to the description of FIG. 5 again, in operation 530, the electronic device (200) can identify the accuracy of the first location information based on the distance between the electronic device (200) and the target electronic device (300), whether the electronic device (200) and the target electronic device (300) are in a line of sight (LOS) environment, and the strength of the measurement signal. As the distance between the electronic device (200) and the target electronic device (300) increases, the accuracy of the first location information may decrease. In addition, when the electronic device (200) and the target electronic device (300) are in a line of sight (LOS) environment, the accuracy is high, but when they are in a non-LOS environment, the accuracy may decrease. According to one embodiment, the electronic device (200) can identify whether the electronic device (200) and the target electronic device (300) are in a LOS environment or a non-LOS environment by comparing a signal measured at a previous measurement location with a signal measured at a current measurement location. For example, if the signal strength is sharply lowered compared to the previously received signal, the electronic device (200) may determine that the electronic device (200) and the target electronic device (300) are in a non-LOS environment. If the strength of the measurement signal is strong, the accuracy may be high, and if the strength of the measurement signal is weak, the accuracy may be low. In one embodiment, when identifying the accuracy of the first location information, the electronic device (200) may identify the accuracy by reflecting the distance between the electronic device (200) and the target electronic device (300), whether the electronic device (200) and the target electronic device (300) are in a line of sight (LOS) environment, and the strength of the measurement signal.

[0129] In operation 540, the electronic device (200) may determine the location of the target electronic device (300) based on the accuracy of the first location information. In one embodiment, the electronic device (200) may additionally measure the distance from the target electronic device (300) at an additional measurement location based on the accuracy of the first location information, thereby determining the location of the target electronic device (300). An operation of determining the location of the target electronic device (300) will be described with reference to FIGS. 7A and 7B .

[0130] FIGS. 7A and 7B are flowcharts illustrating an operation for determining a location of a target electronic device based on the accuracy of first location information according to one embodiment.

[0131] FIG. 7a is a drawing detailing operation 540 of FIG. 5.

[0132] In operation 710, the electronic device (200) may compare the accuracy of the first location information with a threshold value. In one embodiment, the accuracy of the first location information may be identified based on a DoP value. In this case, the accuracy is inversely related to the DoP value.

[0133] In operation 710, if the electronic device (200) determines that the accuracy of the first location information is less than the threshold value, the electronic device (200) performs operation 720. For example, the electronic device (200) may determine that the accuracy of the first location information is less than the threshold value if the DoP value is greater than 20. Here, the value 20 is an exemplary value, and the DoP value for determining the accuracy may vary depending on the requirements of a device, system, application, program, or function that requires the location of the target electronic device (300).

[0134] In operation 720, the electronic device (200) may obtain additional measurement location information including at least one additional measurement location and additional distance information between the at least one additional measurement location and the target electronic device (300). At this time, the operation of obtaining the additional measurement location information and the additional distance information may use the operation of obtaining the measurement location and distance information in operation 510. For example, the electronic device (200) may obtain the additional measurement location by using various devices provided to the electronic device (200), such as an AR module, a sensor module (176), a camera module (180), an audio module (170), or a GPS module (not shown), and when the electronic device (200) includes a UWB module, the electronic device (200) may obtain additional distance information with respect to the target electronic device (300) by using UWB communication. In addition, the additional measurement location may include at least some of the locations for obtaining location information of the electronic device (200).

[0135] According to one embodiment, by acquiring additional distance information at an additional measurement location, the number of measurements can be increased, thereby increasing accuracy. However, since the number of measurements increases, a delay may occur in the overall location measurement operation. However, according to one embodiment of the present disclosure, by acquiring additional distance information at an additional measurement location only when the accuracy of the first location information, for example, the initial location of the target electronic device (300) measured by the electronic device (200), is less than a threshold value, the number of measurements can be minimized, thereby providing a fast measurement speed and high accuracy.

[0136] In addition, the electronic device (200) can obtain a measurement location that can reduce the DoP value, i.e., increase accuracy, through [Mathematical Formula 1]. In one embodiment, the electronic device (200) can obtain preferred measurement location information related to the measurement location that can increase accuracy and output the same. The electronic device (200) can obtain the preferred measurement location information using, for example, a Non Linear Least Square method or an Extended Kalman Filter.

[0137] According to one embodiment of the present disclosure, the electronic device (200) can provide high accuracy with a minimum number of measurements by additionally measuring the distance from the target electronic device (300) at an additional measurement location that can increase accuracy based on the output preferred measurement location information to determine the location of the target electronic device (300).

[0138] At this time, the electronic device (200) can output and provide preferred measurement location information to the user in various ways. For example, the electronic device (200) can display preferred measurement location information in the form of a graphic and / or text using the display module (160), or can output preferred measurement location information as a voice signal using the audio module (170). In addition, the electronic device (200) can transmit preferred measurement location information to another external device via the communication module (190).

[0139] In operation 730, the electronic device (200) may obtain second location information of the target electronic device (300) based on the additional measurement location information and additional distance information obtained in operation 720. According to one embodiment, the second location information may be obtained by performing measurements at more locations than when obtaining the first location information, for example, the initial location of the target electronic device (300) measured by the electronic device (200), thereby providing second location information having higher accuracy than the first location information.

[0140] In one embodiment, when acquiring second location information, the electronic device (200) may use the information used to acquire the first location information, for example, measurement location information and distance information, together or using only some of them, to acquire the second location information. For example, the electronic device (200) may acquire measurement location information and distance information at the first measurement location, the second measurement location, and the third measurement location to acquire the first location information, and then acquire additional measurement location information and additional distance information at the fourth measurement location, the fifth measurement location, and the sixth measurement location. At this time, the electronic device (200) can acquire the second location information by using only the measurement location information and additional distance information acquired at the fourth measurement location, the fifth measurement location, and the sixth measurement location when acquiring the second location information, and can acquire the second location information by using the measurement location information and distance information acquired at the first measurement location, the second measurement location, and the third measurement location and the measurement location information and additional distance information acquired at the fourth measurement location, the fifth measurement location, and the sixth measurement location, and can also acquire the second location information by using only the measurement location information and distance information acquired at the third measurement location and the measurement location information and additional distance information acquired at the fourth measurement location, the fifth measurement location, and the sixth measurement location.

[0141] According to one embodiment, the electronic device (200) may acquire second location information using only relatively recently acquired information by sequentially excluding old information, or, if it is determined that the accuracy is too low, may acquire second location information using only newly acquired information.

[0142] In operation 740, the electronic device (200) can identify the accuracy of the second location information based on the additional measurement location information, the additional distance information, and the second location information. In one embodiment, the electronic device (200) can obtain a dilution of precision (DoP) value based on the plurality of measurement locations, the additional measurement locations, and the second location information, and can identify the accuracy of the second location information based on the DoP value. For example, the electronic device (200) can identify the accuracy of the first location information based on the distance between the electronic device (200) and the target electronic device (300), whether the electronic device (200) and the target electronic device (300) are in a line of sight (LOS) environment, and the strength of the measurement signal.

[0143] In one embodiment, when the electronic device (200) acquires the second location information in operation 730, if the information used to acquire the first location information, for example, the measured location information and the distance information, are used together or only some of them are used together to acquire the second location information, the electronic device (200) may use the information used to acquire the second location information in operation 730 together when identifying the accuracy of the second location information in operation 740.

[0144] In operation 750, the electronic device (200) can determine the location of the target electronic device (300) based on the accuracy of the second location information.

[0145] In one embodiment, the electronic device (200) may repeatedly perform operations 710 to 740 based on the accuracy of the second location information identified in operation 740. That is, when it is determined that the accuracy of the location information of the identified electronic device (200) is less than a threshold value, the accuracy of the location information of the electronic device (200) may be increased by repeatedly performing operations 720 to 750.

[0146] In operation 710, if the electronic device (200) determines that the accuracy of the first location information is greater than or equal to a threshold value, the electronic device (200) may perform operation 760. For example, the electronic device (200) may determine that the accuracy of the first location information is greater than or equal to a threshold value if the DoP value is less than or equal to 20.

[0147] In operation 760, the electronic device (200) may determine the location of the target electronic device based on the first location information acquired in operation 520. For example, the electronic device (200) may determine the initial location as the location of the target electronic device (300) if the initial location of the target electronic device (300) has an accuracy greater than a threshold value. The electronic device (200) may determine the location of the target electronic device (300) as an absolute location (e.g., absolute coordinates) or a relative location (e.g., relative coordinates).

[0148] According to one embodiment, the electronic device (200) can provide high accuracy with a minimum number of measurements by repeating the above-described operations. However, the electronic device (200) can limit the number of repetitions of the operations to prevent the number of measurements from increasing excessively, thereby causing a delay in the overall location measurement operation. For example, the electronic device (200) can limit the number of operations for obtaining additional distance information or limit the number of times for identifying accuracy, and if the operations are performed more than a certain number of times, the electronic device can determine the location of the target electronic device based on the most recently obtained location information of the target electronic device.

[0149] Operations 510 to 540 in FIG. 5 and operations 710 to 760 in FIG. 7a may be executed sequentially, in parallel, repeatedly, or heuristically, or one or more of the operations described above may be executed in a different order, omitted, or one or more other operations may be added.

[0150] Figure 7b is a drawing for explaining the operation of the flowchart shown in Figure 7a.

[0151] Referring to FIG. 7b, in step 701, the electronic device (200) moves to positions A, B, C, and D, and at each measurement position, the electronic device (200) can determine the X position as the position of the target electronic device (300) using the position of the electronic device (200) and the distance between the electronic device (200) and the target electronic device (300). Thereafter, the electronic device (200) can obtain the accuracy of the X position based on the plurality of measurement positions (position A, position B, position C, position D) and the distance between the electronic device (200) and the target electronic device (300) at each measurement position and the obtained position of the target electronic device (300). At this time, the electronic device (300) can obtain the accuracy of the position of the target electronic device (300) using the DoP value described above. In FIG. 7b, it is described that the accuracy is determined based on the DoP value 20.

[0152] Since the DoP value calculated by the electronic device (200) in step 701 is 137, the electronic device (200) determines that the accuracy of the X position is less than the threshold value and can measure the position of the electronic device (200) and the distance between the electronic device (200) and the target electronic device (300) at the additional measurement position. At this time, the electronic device (200) can obtain preferred measurement position information related to the measurement position that can increase accuracy and output the same. For example, the electronic device (200) can determine the E position as the preferred measurement position and provide the E position to the user using the display module (160) and / or other internal devices or modules.

[0153] In step 702, the electronic device (200) can move to position E and measure the position of the electronic device (200) and the distance between the electronic device (200) and the target electronic device (300) at the position. That is, the electronic device (200) can obtain additional measurement position information at position E and additional distance information between position E and the target electronic device (300). The electronic device (200) can determine the Y position as the position of the target electronic device (300) by using a plurality of measurement positions (position A, position B, position C, position D), the distance between the electronic device (200) and the target electronic device (300) at each measurement position, the acquired position of the target electronic device (300), the additional measurement position (position E), and the additional distance between position E and the target electronic device (300). In step 702, it was explained that all information used in determining the X position is used when determining the Y position, but it is not limited thereto, and it may also be possible to use some of the information, for example, positions B, C, and D excluding position A, and the distance from the target electronic device (300) at the corresponding positions, and the additional measurement position (position E), and the distance from the target electronic device (300) at the additional measurement position (position E). In addition, when the position of the electronic device (200) and the additional distance between the electronic device (200) and the target electronic device (300) are obtained from a sufficient number of additional measurement positions, it is also possible to determine the Y position using only the additional measurement positions and the additional distance.

[0154] In step 702, since the DoP value calculated by the electronic device (200) is 26, the electronic device (200) determines that the accuracy of the Y position is less than the threshold value and can measure the position of the electronic device (200) and the distance between the electronic device (200) and the target electronic device (300) at the additional measurement position. At this time, the electronic device (200) can obtain preferred measurement position information related to a measurement position that can increase accuracy, similar to step 701, and output the same. For example, the electronic device (200) can determine the F position as the preferred measurement position and provide the F position to the user using the display module (160) and / or other internal devices or modules.

[0155] In step 703, the electronic device (200) can move to position F and measure the position of the electronic device (200) and the distance between the electronic device (200) and the target electronic device (300) at the position. That is, the electronic device (200) can obtain additional measurement position information at position F and additional distance information between position F and the target electronic device (300). The electronic device (200) determines the Z position as the position of the target electronic device (300) by using a plurality of measurement positions (position A, position B, position C, position D), the distance between the electronic device (200) and the target electronic device (300) at each measurement position and the obtained position of the target electronic device (300), and the additional measurement positions (position E, position F) and the additional distance between the target electronic device (300) at each additional measurement position.

[0156] Since the DoP value calculated by the electronic device (200) at step 703 is 13, the electronic device (200) determines that the accuracy of the Z position is greater than the threshold value and determines the Z position as the position of the target electronic device (300).

[0157] FIG. 8 is a diagram illustrating an operation of outputting measurement location information according to one embodiment.

[0158] In one embodiment, the electronic device (200) may output a measurement location, thereby prompting the user of the electronic device (200) or the electronic device (200) to move to the corresponding measurement location. Furthermore, in one embodiment, the electronic device (200) may output a preferred measurement location. In one embodiment, when the electronic device (200) determines that the accuracy of the first location information is less than a threshold value, the electronic device (200) may display the preferred measurement location with text (810) and an arrow (820) to prompt the user to an additional measurement location that can increase accuracy.

[0159] Referring to FIG. 8, the electronic device (200) can display a measurement location or a preferred measurement location with text and an arrow using the display module (160). In FIG. 8, the electronic device (200) is illustrated as displaying both text and arrows, but is not limited thereto, and may display only one of the text (810) or the arrow (820), or may display a shape other than the arrow (820). According to one embodiment, in addition to the method of displaying the preferred measurement location with text (810) and arrow (820) using the display module (160), it is also possible to output preferred measurement location information using a method other than the above-described method. The electronic device is not limited to the above-described embodiment and may output preferred measurement location information using various methods.

[0160] In one embodiment, when a user of the electronic device (200) or the electronic device (200) moves to a measurement location or a preferred measurement location, the electronic device (200) can measure the location of the electronic device (200) at the measurement location or the preferred measurement location and measure the distance between the electronic device (200) and the target electronic device (300) and store the measured location information and distance information.

[0161] FIG. 9 is a diagram illustrating an operation of outputting the location of a target electronic device according to one embodiment.

[0162] In one embodiment, the electronic device (200) may output the location of the target electronic device (300) through the electronic device (200) to provide the location of the target electronic device (300) to the user. At this time, the electronic device (200) may output the location of the target electronic device and provide it to the user in various ways.

[0163] Referring to FIG. 9, the electronic device (200) uses the display module (160) to indicate the location of the target electronic device with an arrow (910) containing text. In FIG. 9, the electronic device (200) is illustrated as displaying an arrow (910) containing text, but is not limited thereto and may display only one of text or an arrow, or may display a shape other than an arrow. For example, in addition to the method of displaying the location of the target electronic device with text and an arrow using the display module (160), it is also possible to output the location of the target electronic device using a method other than the method described above. The electronic device (200) is not limited to the above-described embodiment and may output the location of the target electronic device using various methods.

[0164] FIG. 10 is a diagram illustrating an operation for obtaining location information and distance information of an electronic device according to one embodiment.

[0165] Referring to FIG. 10, the electronic device (200) moves to position A, position A', position B, position B', and position C, and performs an operation to determine the position of the target electronic device (300). In one embodiment, the electronic device (200) obtains the position of the electronic device (200) and the distance between the electronic device (200) and the target electronic device (300) at one measurement position, and then moves beyond a predetermined distance to obtain the position of the electronic device (200) and the distance between the electronic device (200) and the target electronic device (300). As described above, the electronic device (200) determines the accuracy of the position of the target electronic device (300) obtained using the DoP value. If the measurement positions are too close, the DoP value may appear high, and therefore, the electronic device may guide the electronic device (200) to move beyond a predetermined distance, or measure the position of the electronic device (200) and the distance from the target electronic device (300) at a predetermined distance or more.

[0166] In addition, the tank device (200) can obtain two-dimensional coordinates of the target electronic device (300) when measuring the distance between the electronic device (200) and the target electronic device (300) at three locations, and can obtain three-dimensional coordinates of the target electronic device (300) when measuring the distance between the electronic device (200) and the target electronic device (300) at four or more locations.

[0167] In FIG. 10, the electronic device (200) can obtain the location of the electronic device (200) and the distance (41, 42, 43) from the target electronic device (300) at three locations, i.e., location A, location B, and location C, which are spaced apart by a predetermined distance or more to determine the location of the target electronic device (300).

[0168] Fig. 11 is a flowchart showing an operation method of an electronic device according to another embodiment.

[0169] In operation 1110, the electronic device (200) may execute a location confirmation service. The electronic device (200) may execute the location confirmation service based on user input, a device, system, application, program, or function requesting the location of the target electronic device (300).

[0170] In operation 1120, the electronic device (200) can obtain information for UWB communication from the target electronic device (300) using BLE communication. Furthermore, the electronic device (200) can perform a connection operation for performing UWB communication with the target electronic device (300) based on the obtained information. After recognizing the target electronic device (300) through this connection operation, the electronic device (200) can perform a distance measurement operation using the UWB module.

[0171] In operation 1130, the electronic device (200) can use the AR module to determine the location of the electronic device (200) and use the UWB module to measure the distance between the electronic device (200) and the target electronic device (300).

[0172] In operation 1140, the electronic device (200) can check the location and accuracy of the target electronic device (300). The electronic device (200) can determine the location of the target electronic device (300) based on the location of the electronic device (200) measured in operation 1130 and the distance between the electronic device (200) and the target electronic device (300). In addition, the accuracy of the location of the target electronic device (300) can be determined based on the location of the electronic device (200), the distance between the electronic device (200) and the target electronic device (300), and the determined location of the target electronic device (300).

[0173] In operation 1150, if the accuracy of the location of the target electronic device (300) is below a threshold, the electronic device (200) can measure the location of the target electronic device (300) again. At this time, the electronic device (200) can increase the accuracy by repeatedly performing operations 1130 and 1140 to determine the location of the target electronic device (300).
