[0023] According to the first embodiment of the present invention, provided an advertisement platform which is capable of a) receiving of media contents (advertisements) and preference data from the advertisers, b) managing display of media contents based on preference data across a network of electronic advertisement display systems, d) managing billing and payments of advertisers and customers, c) Optionally, the advertisement platform is further capable of collecting and processing data of media viewers (audience) to generate analytics and dynamically adapt advertisement parameters, Wherein, the preference data includes but not limited to advertiser’s selection of days, time slots, duration, display locations, subscription plans etc. The viewer data is collected using an Artificial Intelligence (Al) system, which recognize faces, age, gender, expressions, mood, impression, attentiveness etc. of media viewers (crowd). The media content includes ads, brand messaging, product info, menus, offers, discounts and schedules. Further, the customers include owners of property / building (having a suitable space for placing electronic advertisement display system, herein after referred as display space) or the owners of the electronic advertisement display systems (herein after referred as, ad display system) mounted at suitable locations.
[0024] The ad display system includes a digital display unit (LCD, Plasma, OLED, LED, CRT or digital projector), a communication unit. Further, the ad display unit includes optional systems i.e. an Al system, a CHIRP system, an loT system. The communication unit provides data connection between server of advertisement platform and ad display system. The communication unit have processing unit, storage, media coder / decoder unit, data encryption / decryption unit and multiple I / O ports (i.e., HDMI, Display port, USB, thunderbolt etc.). The multiple I / O ports enables connection with the digital display unit, Al system, CHIRP system and loT system of the ad display system. Instead of I / O ports the communication unit provide wired connectivity (LAN) or wireless connectivity (Wi-Fi) with the components of the ad display system. The communication unit connects with internet using any known technology including but not limited to cellular communication (3G, 4G, 5G etc.), satellite communication, cable, broad band, fiber-optic, ISDN, DSL or leased line.
[0025] The CHIRP system encodes data as an inaudible audio signal and broadcasts the inaudible signals in the vicinity of the digital display. Smartphones of viewers in the proximity of the display captures the inaudible audio signals using inbuilt microphone (s). Smartphone decodes the inaudible audio signals and provides notification related to the advertisement being displayed over the display. When interested viewer click on the notification a web / smartphone app opens and provides details of notification, also the viewer data (name, age, smartphone ID, email ID, contact details etc.) is collected by the ad platform. Viewer data is collected either by short distance communication with ad display system using Bluetooth, CHIRP, Zigbee, VLC, RFID, NFC, WiFi, WiFi Direct etc. Or by cellular data communication (4G / 5G).
[0026] In second embodiment of the invention, the advertisement platform allows customers to register their display spaces (Wall, windows, space for hoardings / billboards, or any interior or exterior surface of either of a building, office, house, mall etc.). The advertisement platform registers and / or approves the display spaces. The advertisement platform keeps data of registered display spaces in a database. The approval of display space is based on at least one of - size of the space, location of the space and crowd flow in front of the space. The advertisement platform also calculates a lease or purchase amount for the display space based at least one of the - size of the space, location of the space, crowd flow in front of the display space and demographics of the crowd among other factors. The advertisement platform can dynamically adjust the lease amount based on the analytics data from the Al system. Non-limiting example of analytics data includes total number of views, demographic information of passerby viewers, impact of the ad (viewer expression or impressions) etc. In third embodiment of the invention, the platform allows registration of glass facade of a building as a display space. After approval, the platform allows / provides installation of a digital projection module which converts the glass facade into the ad display system. The digital projection module includes a Polymer Dispersed Liquid Crystals (PDLC) film placed over (laminated) one surface of glass facade (glass wall or glass windows), a digital projector and a control module. The digital projector projects images / video over the PDLC film. The control module controls electric field across the PDLC film for changing refractive index of the liquid crystals of PDLC film (control of PDLC film transparency). The digital projection unit receives media data from platform severs to display. Additionally, an loT system detects the edges of the glass facade, and adjusts output of digital projection unit to fit according to the edges of the glass facade. The PDLC film (also known as smart film or switchable film) can be controlled for making glass facade into a transparent glass or into a one-way glass. Apart from the owners of the building, vehicle owners can also register their vehicles windows as advertisement display space (moving display spaces). Similar to the glass facade of buildings, glass windows of the vehicle are installed with digital projection module to convert the glass windows into advertisement display. Alternatively, transparent LCD or transparent OLED displays can be used. Building walls or non-transparent building structures, non-digital hoardings / billboards can also be converted into digital advertisement display surface by using projection unit and loT unit. However, the invention is not limited to digital projection of advertisements and LCD, Plasma, OLED, LED, CRT or any other electronic display systems can be used to implement the current invention.
[0027] In the fourth embodiment of the invention, the advertisement platform allows advertisers to upload their media contents (ads) to the platform. Further, the advertisers can select various subscription plans suitable to their needs. The subscription plans can be predefined by the advertisement platform or can be customizable according to the need of advertisers. The platform allows the advertisers to select time slots, subscription plans, geographic locations of displays or selection of individual displays (as desired) etc. The platform also allows a 3D map view of geographic locations having display spaces or ad display systems. The 3D view includes virtual view of geographic features and features emulating a crowd which is virtual representation of indicative average or peak crowed at the specific geographic location. Alternatively, the 3D view can have interactive panoramas (similar to Google Street View) of the specific geographic location. The user can navigate through the 3D map and select desired display spaces to add to his selection of display plan. The user can view the 3D map over a computer terminal (website), at smartphone or at a virtual reality system.
[0028] In fifth embodiment of the invention, the advertisement platform enables an Al engine for automated screening of uploaded media contents for filtering a) objectionable contents, b) contents violating government rules / guidelines, c) content violating rules of the advertisement platform. Alternatively, a manual screening is performed by human operators for filtering media contents. Alternatively, a primary screening is performed by the Al engine and violating media contents are passed on to manual review. Alternatively, in case of Al engine rejecting an uploaded media for violation, the advertisement platform notifies the advertisers and allows advertisers to request for a manual screening if the advertiser feel that the filtered media content is not an objectionable content. The advertisement platform may apply different content filtering parameters based on the different jurisdictions or geographic locations of display spaces. Furthermore, the platform keeps a database of digital fingerprints / file hash of uploaded media contents and corresponding screening results, so that the platform does not require to screen the same content each time advertisers upload them to the advertisement platform. Further, the advertisement platform stores the uploaded media contents, and allow advertisers to reuse the media content without re-uploading. The database also keeps record of advertisers who repetitively upload objectionable contents, and for such advertisers the platform performs stricter / robust screening of each new uploaded media contents. Alternatively, the platform block or suspend accounts of advertisers after certain number of objectionable media content uploads. In sixth embodiment of the invention, a drone (also known as unmanned aerial vehicle or UAV) carrying display hardware, flies to a desired location and provides advertisement display at the desired location. Wherein, the drone may carry the display system and displays advertisement over the location or the drone may carry a digital projector and projects images / video at suitable surfaces. The suitable surfaces include walls, doors, billboards, structures like pillar, statue, rock, mountain etc. The drone may also carry the loT system for identification of edges of suitable surface (i.e., walls, billboards, structures etc.) for adjusting the output from the digital projector. The drone further carries the Al system.
[0029] Alternatively, the current invention utilizes multiple drones equipped with programmable LED’s which fly in a coordinated fashion for creating a drone light show (i.e. Intel Drone Light Show), for advertisement display.
[0030] The drone-based advertisement may be deployed based on request (customer request, request from organizer of a public event) or based on identification of an advertisement opportunity by the advertisement platform itself. The identification of advertisement opportunity includes manual identification (an administrator may manually search (internet search, TV or newspaper advertisement / article) for an event schedule. Alternatively, the identification of advertisement opportunity includes automatic identification based on gathering of crowd. The automatic identification of crowd gathering includes processing realtime location data from smartphones (gathered directly via a smartphone app provided by the advertisement platform or sourced from third party location-based service providers). Alternatively, the loT system of drone can identify crowded locations while flying on a crowd sensing mode. The crowd sensing mode may include a predefined path or may have a dynamic selection of path. After the drone identify the crowded location the drone starts hovering over the crowded location. The drone identifies at least one structure near the crowded location and identify suitable surface of the identified structure (suitable surface can be a predefined surface forthat specific location or surface identified by the loT system) and adjusts hovering position based on the identified surface. The hovering position is adjusted in a way that enables the drone to project the images / video on to the suitable surface. The loT system carried by the drone have a program for crowd identification and works in crowd identification mode till the crowded location is identified. Once the crowded location is identified the loT system starts executing program for suitable surface identification. Alternatively, drone may carry a separate crowed sensing system. Alternatively, the loT system, Al system may share the same imaging device, sensors and processing unit. Further, the drone may have a navigation and / or collision avoidance system sharing imaging device, sensors with the loT system and Al system.
[0031] The dynamic selection of path in crowd sensing mode includes an algorithm for flight path planning based on at least one of the GPS data, map, time and day, nodes (locations having high crowd gathering probabilities), exclusion zones, geofence, flight endurance, whether and historical data.
[0032] The drone, when identify a crowded location may send request for more drones (based on availability) if the crowd size and / or distribution is more than a predefined threshold. In case of the drone battery drops below a certain threshold the drone flay back to its base and the platform deploy a replacement drone.
[0033] The drone may work in an online or offline mode. In online mode the drone has a link with the platform server. The drone receives navigation data, media content stream or data, other control command and / or data. The drone transmits back crowd data, battery status, GPS data, loT system data, Al system data etc. In the offline mode the drone travels in autonomous way, and displays media contents stored in an onboard data storage.
