Fig. 6 is a cross-sectional view taken at an angle different by 90° from Fig. 1. Fig. 7 is a cross-sectional view showing a state when a connecting operation is started from the state shown in Fig. 1. Fig. 8 is a cross-sectional view showing a state when the connecting operation has progressed further from the state shown in Fig. 3. Fig. 9 is a cross-sectional view showing a state when the connecting operation has been completed from the state shown in Fig. 4. Fig. 10 is a cross-sectional view taken at an angle different by 90° from Fig. 5.
[0023] Hereinafter, embodiments of the present disclosure will be described in detail with reference to the drawings.
[0024] As shown in FIGS. 1 to 6 , a male connector 1 according to one embodiment of the present disclosure is connectable to a female connector 2 having an elastic valve body 2 a, and includes a flow path pipe member 3 that defines a tip side and a base side and has an opening 3 a in the tip side portion, a hollow columnar elastic open-close part 4 having an outer peripheral surface 4 a and a tip surface 4 b, a biasing part 5 that can bias the elastic open-close part 4 toward the tip side, and a mating part 6 a that fits to the outer peripheral surface 4 a of the elastic open-close part 4 so as to move together with the elastic open-close part 4 toward the base end side relative to the flow path pipe member 3 against the biasing force of the biasing part 5. The elastic opening / closing part 4 has a movable body 6, and the elastic opening / closing part 4 has a compressed part 4c that protrudes distally from the engagement part 6a on the outer peripheral surface 4a, and the opening 3a of the flow path pipe member 3 is closed by the elastic opening / closing part 4 in a first configuration (see FIGS. 1 to 4), where the compressed part 4c is pressed proximally by the elastic valve body 2a and compressed, and the elastic opening / closing part 4 moves proximally relative to the flow path pipe member 3, whereby the distal end portion of the flow path pipe member 3 protrudes distally from the elastic opening / closing part 4 and the opening 3a of the flow path pipe member 3 is opened, changing its configuration to a second configuration (see FIGS. 5 to 6).
[0025] According to the above configuration, the compressed portion 4c protrudes distally beyond the engagement portion 6a on the outer peripheral surface 4a of the elastic opening-closing portion 4, so that when the compressed portion 4c is pushed proximally by the elastic valve body 2a in the first configuration (see FIG. 3), the elastic opening-closing portion 4 can be tightly fitted to the elastic valve body 2a at its outer periphery. Then, in this tightly fitted state, the second configuration can be established, allowing the male connector flow path C1 in the flow path pipe member 3 to communicate with the female connector flow path C2 in the female connector 2 through the opening 3a. This makes it possible to realize a male connector 1 that can suppress fluid leakage from the female connector 2 or the male connector 1 when connected to the female connector 2.
[0026] The diameter D1 (see FIG. 1) of the outer peripheral surface 4a of the elastic open-close portion 4 at the compressed portion 4c is larger than the diameter D2 of the outer peripheral surface 4a of the elastic open-close portion 4 at the portion that engages with the engaging portion 6a when the engaging portion 6a is engaged with the elastic open-close portion 4. According to the above configuration, when the compressed portion 4c is pressed toward the base end by the elastic valve body 2a in the first form, the elastic open-close portion 4 can be more closely attached to the elastic valve body 2a at its outer periphery. Note that the diameter of the outer peripheral surface 4a of the elastic open-close portion 4 may be constant over the entire outer peripheral surface 4a of the elastic open-close portion 4 before the engaging portion 6a is engaged with the elastic open-close portion 4.
[0027] The compressed portion 4c has a slit 4c1 through which the flow path pipe member 3 passes when the shape changes from the first shape to the second shape. According to the above configuration, the compressed portion 4c can be realized with a simple structure.
[0028] The shape of the tip surface 4b of the elastic opening / closing part 4 (compressible part 4c) is not particularly limited, and for example, as shown in the figure, the central part of the tip surface 4b may be conically protruding from the flat outer periphery, the entire tip surface 4b may be conically protruding, or the entire tip surface 4b may be flat. Furthermore, the protruding shape is not limited to a cone shape, and may be hemispherical, etc.
[0029] The movable body 6 has a receiving portion 6b that receives the female connector 2 when the compressed portion 4c is pressed toward the base end by the elastic valve body 2a and compressed (see FIGS. 5 and 6). According to the above configuration, the receiving portion 6b receives the female connector 2, thereby preventing excessive compression of the compressed portion 4c. This reduces the load on the elastic open-close unit 4, thereby improving durability. Furthermore, the compressed portion 4c can be compressed until the receiving portion 6b receives the female connector 2. This prevents fluid leakage due to compression of the compressed portion 4c.
[0030] In the first configuration, the receiving portion 6b does not receive the female connector 2 (see FIG. 4). According to the above configuration, in the first configuration in which the opening 3a of the flow path pipe member 3 is closed, the compressed portion 4c is compressed well, thereby achieving good suppression of fluid leakage.
[0031] The receiving portion 6b is compressed when the compressed portion 4c is pushed toward the base end by the elastic valve body 2a, and thus abuts against the female connector 2. According to the above configuration, the receiving portion 6b can be realized with a simple structure.
[0032] The engagement portion 6a is annular and surrounds the outer peripheral surface 4a of the elastic opening-closing portion 4. According to the above configuration, good engagement can be achieved at the engagement portion 6a.
[0033] The receiving portion 6b is cylindrical and has a larger diameter than the distal end of the mating portion 6a, and protrudes distally beyond the distal end of the mating portion 6a. According to the above configuration, it is possible to realize a receiving portion 6b with a simple structure that is not easily restricted in its radially outward deformation when the compressed portion 4c is compressed by being pressed proximally by the elastic valve body 2a.
[0034] The movable body 6 has a movable body restricting portion 6c that can restrict movement of the female connector 2 toward the tip side relative to the movable body 6 in the second configuration (see FIG. 5). According to the above configuration, when disconnecting the female connector 2 from the male connector 1 (not shown) from the second configuration (see FIG. 5) in which the connection between the female connector 2 and the male connector 1 is completed and the opening 3a of the flow path pipe member 3 is opened, for example, by pulling out the female connector 2, the female connector 2 moves toward the tip side at a speed that the returning action of the elastic open-close portion 4 by the biasing portion 5 cannot keep up with. Therefore, the movable body restricting portion 6c allows the movable body 6 to follow the female connector 2 together with the elastic open-close portion 4 until the first configuration is reached in which the opening 3a of the flow path pipe member 3 is closed, thereby suppressing fluid leakage.
[0035] The moving body restricting portion 6c restricts the movement of the female connector 2 by hooking onto the female connector 2. That is, the moving body restricting portion 6c has a moving body hooking portion 6c1 that hooks onto the moving body hooked portion 2b of the female connector 2. According to the above configuration, the moving body restricting portion 6c can be realized with a simple structure.
[0036] The moving body restricting portion 6c swings (see FIGS. 3 and 4) to hook onto the female connector 2. According to the above configuration, the hooking by the moving body restricting portion 6c can be achieved with a simple structure.
[0037] The movable body restricting portion 6c swings radially outward of the flow path pipe member 3 as it returns from elastic deformation, thereby releasing the hook from the female connector 2. According to the above configuration, the hook can be released by swinging with a simple structure.
[0038] The movable body 6 has a first movable body restricting portion 6c and a second movable body restricting portion 6c, and the mating portion 6a is located between the first movable body restricting portion 6c and the second movable body restricting portion 6c, or the first movable body restricting portion 6c and the second movable body restricting portion 6c are arranged to face each other. With the above configuration, with a simple structure, it is possible to effectively suppress leakage of fluid when the connection between the female connector 2 and the male connector 1 is released.
[0039] The first moving body restricting portion 6c has a first moving body hooking portion 6c1 that hooks onto the first moving body hooked portion 2b of the female connector 2, and the second moving body restricting portion 6c has a second moving body hooking portion 6c1 that hooks onto the second moving body hooked portion 2b of the female connector 2. With the above configuration, good hooking can be achieved with a simple structure.
[0040] The movable body restricting portion 6c has a fixed end 6c2 of the swing that is located closer to the base end than the end of the base end of the engaging portion 6a, and the movable body 6 has a movable body base 6d that connects the engaging portion 6a, the receiving portion 6b, and the fixed end 6c2 of the movable body restricting portion 6c. With the above configuration, it is possible to achieve good swinging of the movable body restricting portion 6c that is suitable for hooking with a simple structure.
[0041] The engaging portion 6a, the receiving portion 6b, the movable body restricting portion 6c, and the movable body base portion 6d integrally form the movable body 6. According to the above-described configuration, the movable body 6 can be formed by a simple manufacturing method such as injection molding.
[0042] The male connector 1 has a housing 7 that defines a hollow section S in which the flow path pipe member 3 is located, and the housing 7 has a housing restricting portion 7a that restricts movement of the female connector 2 toward the tip side relative to the housing 7 (see FIG. 6 ) when the configuration changes from the first configuration to the second configuration. With the above configuration, the second configuration can be maintained by restricting movement of the female connector 2 with the housing restricting portion 7a.
[0043] The housing restricting portion 7a restricts movement of the female connector 2 by hooking onto the female connector 2. That is, the housing restricting portion 7a has a housing hooking portion 7a1 that hooks onto the housing hooked portion 2c of the female connector 2. According to the above configuration, the housing restricting portion 7a can be realized with a simple structure.
[0044] The housing restricting portion 7a swings to catch on the female connector 2. According to the above configuration, the housing restricting portion 7a can be hooked with a simple structure.
[0045] The housing restriction portion 7a swings inward in the radial direction of the flow path pipe member 3 as it returns from elastic deformation, and thereby hooks onto the female connector 2. According to the above configuration, hooking by swinging can be achieved with a simple structure.
[0046] The housing 7 has a first housing restriction portion 7 a and a second housing restriction portion 7 a, and the flow path pipe member 3 is located between the first housing restriction portion 7 a and the second housing restriction portion 7 a, or the first housing restriction portion 7 a and the second housing restriction portion 7 a are arranged to face each other. With the above configuration, the second mode can be well maintained with a simple structure.
[0047] The first housing restricting portion 7a has a first housing hooking portion 7a1 that hooks onto the first housing hooked portion 2c of the female connector 2, and the second housing restricting portion 7a has a second housing hooking portion 7a1 that hooks onto the second housing hooked portion 2c of the female connector 2. With the above configuration, good hooking can be achieved with a simple structure.
[0048] The housing regulating portion 7a has a fixed swing end 7a2 located closer to the base end than the opening 3a of the flow path pipe member 3, and the housing 7 has a housing base 7b that defines the hollow portion S, and the housing base 7b connects the flow path pipe member 3 and the fixed end 7a2 of the housing regulating portion 7a. With the above configuration, good swinging of the housing regulating portion 7a suitable for hooking can be achieved with a simple structure.
[0049] The housing 7 has an operating portion 7c extending from the housing restricting portion 7a toward the base end side, and when the housing restricting portion 7a is operated radially inward relative to the operating portion 7c, the housing restricting portion 7a is elastically deformed to swing radially outward of the flow path pipe member 3, thereby releasing the hooking on the female connector 2. With the above configuration, it is possible to realize release of the hooking by swinging with a simple structure.
[0050] The housing 7 has a first operating portion 7c extending from the first housing restricting portion 7a toward the base end, and a second operating portion 7c extending from the second housing restricting portion 7a toward the base end, the first operating portion 7c and the second operating portion 7c being arranged to face each other. This configuration allows for good operation with a simple structure.
[0051] The flow path pipe member 3 and the base portion of the housing base 7b form an integrated member. With the above configuration, this member can be formed by a simple manufacturing method such as injection molding. The housing restricting portion 7a, the portion of the housing base 7b other than the base portion, and the operating portion 7c form an integrated member. With the above configuration, this member can be formed by a simple manufacturing method such as injection molding.
[0052] When the elastic valve body 2a is pressed against the compressed portion 4c of the elastic open-close portion 4, the elastic open-close portion 4 and the movable body 6 move toward the axial base end side relative to the flow path pipe member 3 against the biasing force of the biasing portion 5, causing the movable body restricting portion 6c to swing radially inward of the flow path pipe member 3 due to the radially inward resisting force from the housing 7 (housing base portion 7b) to a position where it can be hooked onto the female connector 2. With the above configuration, hooking by the movable body restricting portion 6c can be achieved with a simple structure.
[0053] To this end, the movable body restricting portion 6c has a guided portion 6c3 that is guided by a guiding portion 7b1 of the housing 7 (housing base 7b) during the connecting operation, and at least one of the guiding portion 7b1 and the guided portion 6c3 can have an inclined portion 8 that slopes radially inward from the distal end to the proximal end. With this configuration, as shown in Figures 3 and 4, the guided portion 6c3 can be guided radially inward by the guiding portion 7b1 during the connecting operation, allowing the movable body restricting portion 6c to swing radially inward. In this embodiment, the guided portion 6c3 has the inclined portion 8.
[0054] The first movable body restricting portion 6c has a first guided portion 6c3 guided by a first guiding portion 7b1 of the housing 7 (housing base 7b) during the connecting operation, and at least one of the first guiding portion 7b1 and the first guided portion 6c3 (the first guiding portion 7b1 in this embodiment) has a first inclined portion 8 that inclines radially inward from the distal end to the proximal end, and the second movable body restricting portion 6c has a second guided portion 6c3 guided by a second guiding portion 7b1 of the housing 7 (housing base 7b) during the connecting operation, and at least one of the second guiding portion 7b1 and the second guided portion 6c3 (the second guiding portion 7b1 in this embodiment) has a second inclined portion 8 that inclines radially inward from the distal end to the proximal end. This configuration allows the movable body restricting portion 6c to swing radially inward with a simple structure.
[0055] The elastic opening / closing portion 4 and the biasing portion 5 form an integral elastic member. According to the above configuration, the male connector 1 can be realized with a simple structure.
[0056] The male connector 1 is configured as a medical device. According to the above configuration, the male connector 1 can be realized as a medical device that can suppress fluid leakage when connected to the female connector 2.
[0057] The connection structure 9 according to this embodiment includes a male connector 1 and a female connector 2. According to the above configuration, the connection structure 9 can be realized which can suppress fluid leakage when the male connector 1 is connected to the female connector 2.
[0058] The movable body 6 has a receiving portion 6b that receives the female connector 2 when the compressed portion 4c is pushed toward the base end by the elastic valve body 2a and compressed, and the female connector 2 has a connecting portion 2d that forms the connection port P where the elastic valve body 2a is located, a mating surface 2e formed by the outer surface of the connecting portion 2d that can mate with the receiving portion 6b, and a step surface 2f that protrudes radially outward from the mating surface 2e and can abut against the tip end of the receiving portion 6b when the mating surface 2e mates with the receiving portion 6b (see Figures 5 and 6).With the above configuration, the mating surface 2e and the step surface 2f allow the receiving portion 6b to stably receive the connector.
[0059] The elastic valve body 2a has a slit 2a1 through which the flow path pipe member 3 passes when the elastic valve body 2a changes from the first configuration to the second configuration. According to the above configuration, the elastic valve body 2a can be realized with a simple structure.
[0060] The male connector 1 and the female connector 2 are each configured as a medical device. With the above configuration, a connection structure 9 can be realized that can suppress fluid leakage when connecting the male connector 1 as a medical device to the female connector 2 as a medical device.
[0061] The male connector 1 and the female connector 2 can form, for example, an infusion set. The infusion set includes, for example, the male connector 1, the female connector 2, an infusion container, a drip tube, and a medical tube. The fluid is not particularly limited and may be, for example, a medicinal solution (infusion solution, nutrient, anticancer drug, etc.), saline, etc.
[0062] Although the embodiments of the present disclosure have been described above, the present disclosure is not limited to the above-described embodiments, and the above-described embodiments can be modified in various ways without departing from the gist of the present disclosure.
