Abstract

The invention relates to a measuring tool for walls, designed to allow a single person to draw horizontal lines for skirting and / or to cut off the upper projecting part of a vinyl, PVC or any other type of sheet in a perfectly horizontal manner, the measuring tool being used to cove the junction of a wall and a floor. The measuring tool comprises a fixed lower section (3) provided with rolling means including wheels (6) with shafts (60) that are parallel to each other and perpendicular to the wall (100), and an upper section (4) joined to the lower section (3) by height-adjustable means and provided with a lateral blade (5).

Description

[0001]STENCILS FOR WALLS Description Object of the invention The present invention relates to a template for walls, usable to draw horizontal lines with respect to the floor level, and to horizontally cut off the excess in the formation of sanitary copings materialized in flexible sheets of PVC, vinyl or similar. Background of the invention Currently, in certain activities carried out in premises, sanitary copings are used, which are curved terminations of the agreement between the floor and the wall, avoiding 90-degree agreements that are more difficult to clean, and prone to the accumulation of dirt. For this reason, it is frequent, and even mandatory by regulations in some activities (catering, health, etc.), the termination of the agreements between walls and floors by means of said sanitary copings. These copings are sometimes separate pieces, made of ceramic or other materials; but very frequently, they are made with vinyl or PVC sheet flooring. The sheet flooring is installed over the subfloor and extended into the first few centimeters of the wall, creating a curved shape, forming the coping itself. Once glued, the excess is trimmed horizontally above the desired centimeters of overlap on the wall. Currently, this trimming is done using rulers and levels, which requires leveling the ruler and holding it with one hand while passing a blade with the other. The ruler can become dislocated and the work ruined by a cut with one hand. Alternatively, two people can be used for this task, which also does not guarantee 100% that there will be no misalignment or unevenness during the cutting.Likewise, when constructing any type of baseboard, it is frequently necessary to draw horizontal lines on the wall. This can currently be done using optical levels, which are expensive and delicate devices, or using ordinary levels and drawing with a chalk-impregnated cord, which is laborious and, depending on the length of the wall, requires the intervention of two people. Description of the Invention The wall template of the invention has a configuration that allows a single person to draw horizontal lines for baseboards and / or to perform the perfectly horizontal trimming of the excess upper portion of a vinyl, PVC, or any other type of sheet used to create a cove where a wall and floor meet.According to the invention, the template comprises a fixed lower section provided with rolling means, and an upper section connected to the lower section, preferably through height adjustment means, and provided with a side blade. In this way, the template is positioned parallel to the wall whose scotia has just been configured, with the height of the upper section previously adjusted to that required for the blade to reach the predetermined height for the upper cut of the scotia. In contact with it, and by rolling the assembly along the wall, the blade sections the excess material at the desired height, comfortably, quickly, precisely, ergonomically, and accurately. For drawing horizontal lines, the blade simply marks the horizontal line on the plaster. Figures 1 and 2 show views from different points of view of the template of the invention, where in Figure 2 it can be seen that the upper sector is adjusted to a greater height than in Figure 1. Figure 3 shows a view of the use of the template of the invention during the trimming of the upper excess of a scotia materialized in PVC sheet Description of a practical embodiment of the invention The template (1) for walls of the invention comprises a fixed lower sector (3) provided with rolling means, and an upper sector (4) connected to the lower sector through height adjustment means, and provided with a lateral blade (5). Preferably, the rolling means comprise wheels (6) with axles (60) parallel to each other and perpendicular to the wall (100), since in this way the parallel trajectory to the wall of the template is facilitated, when moving it during use.Furthermore, in this preferred embodiment, the height adjustment means comprise a scissor lift (7), since it provides good stability of the upper sector with respect to the lower sector. Said scissor lift (7) ideally comprises a spindle (70) that is connected to two moving parts (71, 72) thereof, and is provided with an actuation knob (73) to facilitate continuous and exact height adjustment. Additionally, the provision of additional locks (8) of the relative height between the lower sector (3) and the upper sector (4) is preferred, to perfectly immobilize the height if the template has to be handled with force. Said locks (8) comprise parallel plates (80) with slots (81) in which locking screws (82) with tightening wing nuts (83) are arranged. For its part, it is preferred that the blade (5) is mounted in the upper sector (4) through an adjustable slide (40), in order to be able to regulate the lateral projection of the blade. Finally, it should be noted that it is preferred that the lower sector (3) and the upper sector (4) are configured in the form of parallel plates, since this facilitates the implementation of the height regulation means. Figure 3 shows how the excess (200) of the execution of the scotia (201) can be easily trimmed. Having sufficiently described the nature of the invention, as well as the manner of carrying it out in practice, it should be noted that the provisions indicated above and represented in the attached drawings are susceptible to detailed modifications as long as they do not alter the fundamental principle.
