[0001] CROSS-REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATIONS
[0002] This application claims priority to Chinese patent application No. 202322194453.X, filed on August 15, 2023, entitled “Battery and Electrical Device,” the entire contents of which are incorporated herein by reference. Technical Field
[0003] The present application relates to the field of batteries, and in particular to a battery and an electrical device. Background Art
[0004] With the development of new energy technology, batteries are used more and more widely, for example, in mobile phones, laptops, electric vehicles, electric airplanes, electric ships, electric toy cars, electric toy ships, electric toy airplanes and power tools.
[0005] In batteries, the casing is an important component, and its assembly efficiency directly affects the production efficiency of the battery. Therefore, how to effectively improve the assembly efficiency of the casing is an urgent problem to be solved in battery technology.
[0006] Summary of the Invention
[0007] The present application provides a battery and an electrical device, which can improve the assembly efficiency of the battery box.
[0008] In a first aspect, the present application provides a battery comprising a battery cell and a housing. The housing comprises a first plate, a second plate, and at least one side plate, the first and second plates being arranged opposite each other, the at least one side plate being connected to the first and second plates and enclosing the first and second plates to form a receiving cavity, in which the battery cell is disposed. The first plate has a recessed portion on the side facing the second plate, and the at least one side plate is inserted into the recessed portion and connected to the first plate.
[0009] The recessed portion can position the side panels during the box assembly process, thereby achieving connection between the first panel and the side panels, improving the box assembly efficiency and battery production efficiency. The first panel can limit the portion of the side panel inserted into the recessed portion, thereby improving the connection strength between the first panel and the side panels, improving the stability of the box and the reliability of the battery.
[0010] In some embodiments, the battery further includes a gel, at least a portion of which is accommodated in the recess and bonds the side plate to the first plate.
[0011] Using a colloid to bond the first and side panels reduces material requirements for the first and side panels, allowing for greater flexibility in material selection. The colloid can also fill the gap between the first and side panels, providing a seal and improving the enclosure's tightness. The recessed portion provides space for the colloid, reducing its footprint in the enclosure's battery storage space, thereby improving space utilization and the battery's energy density.
[0012] In some embodiments, the density of the side plate is less than that of the first plate. The side plate may have a smaller density to reduce the weight of the side plate and increase the energy density of the battery 2.
[0013] In some embodiments, the side panels are made of plastic and connected to the first panel via injection molding. Plastic is lightweight, and using plastic side panels can reduce their weight and increase the battery's energy density. Directly connecting the side panels to the first panel via injection molding simplifies the molding process, increases the strength of the connection between the side panels and the first panel, and improves sealing.
[0014] In some embodiments, the first plate and the side plate are both made of metal, and the thickness of the side plate is smaller than the thickness of the first plate.
[0015] Metal has high strength. Using metal for the first and side panels improves the overall structural strength of the box and enhances battery reliability. Since the side panels don't need to support battery cells, their strength requirements are lower than those for the first panels. Therefore, the side panels can be thinner, reducing weight and increasing energy density while still meeting strength requirements.
[0016] In some embodiments, the first plate includes a supporting wall and a connecting wall. The supporting wall is disposed opposite the second plate and connected to the battery cell. The connecting wall is connected to an edge of the supporting wall and forms a recessed portion. The recessed portion is recessed relative to a surface of the supporting wall facing the second plate. At least a portion of the connecting wall protrudes from a surface of the supporting wall facing away from the second plate. The connecting wall is connected to the side plate.
[0017] By bending the connecting wall to form a recess, the resulting loss of strength to the first plate can be minimized. At least a portion of the connecting wall protrudes from the surface of the load-bearing wall facing away from the second plate, increasing the depth of the recess and improving the connection area and strength between the connecting wall and the side plate. Using the connecting wall to connect the side plate reduces the risk of interference between the side plate and the battery cells, increasing the internal space of the box.
[0018] In some embodiments, the connecting wall includes a first portion and a second portion that are continuously arranged. The first portion is connected to the supporting wall and forms a recessed portion. The second portion extends from an end of the first portion away from the supporting wall and protrudes from a surface of the supporting wall facing the second plate. The side plate is connected to the first portion, and the second portion is located on a side of the side plate away from the accommodating cavity.
[0019] The portion of the side panel that extends into the first recess can be connected to the first portion to secure the side panel to the first panel. The second portion can limit the side panel from the outside, thereby limiting deformation of the side panel away from the accommodating cavity, improving the stability of the connection between the side panel and the first panel and enhancing battery reliability.
[0020] In some embodiments, the battery further includes a reinforcing plate, which is disposed on a side of the carrying wall facing away from the second plate and is fixed to the carrying wall.
[0021] The reinforcement plate can improve the bearing capacity of the bearing wall, reduce the deformation of the bearing wall when the battery is subjected to external impact, reduce the risk of failure of the connection between the battery cell and the bearing wall, and improve the stability of the battery cell and the reliability of the battery.
[0022] In some embodiments, the connecting wall has an end surface at an end away from the second plate, and the end surface is flush with a surface of the reinforcing plate facing away from the bearing wall.
[0023] During the production, transportation, installation or use of the battery, the reinforcing plate and the end face can be in contact with the external supporting mechanism at the same time. The supporting mechanism can support the reinforcing plate and the connecting wall at the same time, thereby reducing the pressure on the reinforcing plate and the connecting wall, reducing the risk of deformation of the connecting wall and the reinforcing plate, and improving the reliability of the battery.
[0024] In some embodiments, the battery further includes a reinforcing plate, which is disposed on a side of the first plate facing away from the second plate and is fixed to the first plate. The reinforcing plate can improve the load-bearing capacity of the first plate, reduce deformation of the first plate when the battery is subjected to external impact, and improve battery reliability.
[0025] In some embodiments, the reinforcement plate includes a flow channel for a heat exchange medium. As the heat exchange medium flows through the reinforcement plate and the first plate, it exchanges heat with the battery cells, keeping the battery cells operating within a suitable temperature range and improving their cycle performance. The reinforcement plate combines both reinforcement and heat exchange functions, simplifying the battery structure, improving battery integration, and increasing the battery's energy density.
[0026] In some embodiments, the battery cells are connected to the first plate. In the thickness direction of the first plate, the battery cells cover at least a portion of the recess. The battery cells can utilize the space above the recess, thereby improving space utilization and increasing the energy density of the battery.
[0027] In some embodiments, the box body includes a plurality of side panels, which are integrally connected to form a frame body. The recess is annular, and each side panel is inserted into the recess and connected to the first panel.
[0028] The recess can position the multiple side panels during the assembly of the box, thereby improving the assembly efficiency of the box and the production efficiency of the battery. The first plate can limit the frame, improving the stability of the box and the reliability of the battery.
[0029] In some embodiments, the frame has an opening at one end away from the first plate. At least a portion of the second plate is inserted into the opening and connected to the frame. Inserting at least a portion of the second plate into the frame can reduce the maximum size of the battery, improve space utilization, and increase the battery's energy density.
[0030] In some embodiments, a positioning protrusion is provided on an inner side of at least one side plate. The positioning protrusion is located on a side of the second plate facing the first plate and abuts against the second plate.
[0031] The positioning protrusion can limit the second plate during the process of inserting the second plate into the opening, reducing the risk of the second plate being over-inserted into the frame, thereby simplifying the assembly process and improving the assembly efficiency of the box.
[0032] In some embodiments, a receiving groove is formed between the portion of the second plate inserted into the opening and the inner surface of the frame. The battery further includes a sealant filled in the receiving groove.
[0033] The sealant not only connects the frame and the second plate, but also seals the gap between the second plate and the frame, improving the seal. Using the inner groove of the frame to accommodate the sealant can improve space utilization, reduce the maximum size of the battery, and increase the battery's energy density.
[0034] In a second aspect, the present application provides an electrical device, which includes a battery provided according to any embodiment of the first aspect, and the battery is used to provide electrical energy. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

In addition, the character " / " in this application generally indicates that the related objects are in an "or" relationship.
[0055] In the embodiments of this application, the same reference numerals represent the same components, and for the sake of brevity, detailed descriptions of the same components in different embodiments are omitted. It should be understood that the thickness, length, width, and other dimensions of the various components in the embodiments of this application, as well as the overall thickness, length, width, and other dimensions of the integrated device shown in the drawings are merely illustrative and should not constitute any limitation on this application.
[0056] The term "plurality" used in this application refers to two or more (including two).
[0057] In the embodiment of the present application, the battery cell may be a secondary battery. A secondary battery refers to a battery cell that can be continuously used by activating active materials by charging after the battery cell is discharged.
[0058] The battery cell can be a lithium-ion battery cell, a sodium-ion battery cell, a sodium-lithium-ion battery cell, a lithium metal battery cell, a sodium metal battery cell, a lithium-sulfur battery cell, a magnesium-ion battery cell, a nickel-hydrogen battery cell, a nickel-cadmium battery cell, a lead-acid battery cell, etc., and the embodiments of the present application are not limited to this.
[0059] A battery cell typically includes an electrode assembly. This assembly includes a positive electrode, a negative electrode, and a separator. During the charge and discharge process of a battery cell, active ions (such as lithium ions) are inserted and removed between the positive and negative electrodes. The separator, placed between the positive and negative electrodes, prevents short circuits between the positive and negative electrodes while allowing the active ions to pass through.
[0060] In some embodiments, a battery cell may include a housing. The housing is used to encapsulate components such as the electrode assembly and the electrolyte. The housing may be a steel housing, an aluminum housing, a plastic housing (e.g., polypropylene), a composite metal housing (e.g., a copper-aluminum composite housing), or an aluminum-plastic film.
[0061] As an example, the battery cell can be a cylindrical battery cell, a prismatic battery cell, a soft-pack battery cell or a battery cell of other shapes. The prismatic battery cell includes a square-shell battery cell, a blade-shaped battery cell, and a polygonal battery. The polygonal battery is, for example, a hexagonal battery, etc. There is no special limitation in this application.
[0062] The battery mentioned in the embodiments of the present application refers to a single physical module including one or more battery cells to provide higher voltage and capacity.
[0063] In some embodiments, the battery may be a battery pack, which includes a housing and battery cells, wherein the battery cells or battery modules are housed in the housing. The housing protects the battery cells, thereby reducing contamination of the battery cells by external impurities and extending the service life of the battery cells.
[0064] During the battery production process, the assembly efficiency of the box directly affects the production efficiency of the battery. During the box assembly process, the lack of positioning structure between the components of the box causes low box assembly efficiency.
[0065] In view of this, an embodiment of the present application provides a battery, which includes a housing and a battery cell accommodated in the housing. The housing includes a first plate, a second plate, and at least one side plate, the first plate and the second plate being arranged opposite each other, the at least one side plate being connected to the first plate and the second plate, and forming a receiving cavity together with the first plate and the second plate, and the battery cell being arranged in the receiving cavity. A recess is provided on the side of the first plate facing the second plate, and at least one side plate is inserted into the recess and connected to the first plate. By providing a recess on the first plate, the side plate can be positioned, which facilitates the connection between the first plate and the side plate, thereby improving the assembly efficiency of the housing.
[0066] The battery described in the embodiments of the present application is suitable for use in electrical devices that use the battery.
[0067] The battery cells, batteries, and electrical devices disclosed in the embodiments of the present application can be used in electrical devices that use batteries as power sources or various energy storage systems that use batteries as energy storage elements. The electrical devices can be, but are not limited to, mobile phones, tablets, laptops, electric toys, power tools, battery-powered vehicles, electric vehicles, ships, spacecraft, and the like. Among them, electric toys can include fixed or mobile electric toys, such as game consoles, electric car toys, electric ship toys, and electric airplane toys, and the like, and spacecraft can include airplanes, rockets, space shuttles, and spacecraft, and the like.
[0068] For the convenience of description, the following embodiments are described by taking a vehicle as an example of an electrical device.
[0069] FIG1 is a schematic structural diagram of a vehicle provided in some embodiments of the present application.
[0070] As shown in FIG1 , a battery 2 is provided inside the vehicle 1. The battery 2 may be provided at the bottom, head, or tail of the vehicle 1. The battery 2 may be used to power the vehicle 1. For example, the battery 2 may serve as an operating power source for the vehicle 1.
[0071] The vehicle 1 may further include a controller 3 and a motor 4 . The controller 3 is used to control the battery 2 to supply power to the motor 4 , for example, to meet the power requirements of the vehicle 1 during startup, navigation, and driving.
[0072] In some embodiments of the present application, the battery 2 can not only serve as the operating power source of the vehicle 1, but also serve as the driving power source of the vehicle 1, replacing or partially replacing fuel or natural gas to provide driving power for the vehicle 1.
[0073] Figure 2 is an exploded schematic diagram of a battery provided in some embodiments of the present application; Figure 3 is a cross-sectional schematic diagram of a battery provided in some embodiments of the present application; Figure 4 is an enlarged schematic diagram of Figure 3 at circle A; Figure 5 is a structural schematic diagram of the first plate of a battery box provided in some embodiments of the present application; Figure 6 is an enlarged schematic diagram of Figure 5 at the circle.
[0074] 2 to 6 , the battery 2 of the embodiment of the present application includes a housing 20 and a battery cell 10. The housing 20 includes a first plate 21, a second plate 22, and at least one side plate 23. The first plate 21 and the second plate 22 are arranged opposite each other. The at least one side plate 23 is connected to the first plate 21 and the second plate 22 and, together with the first plate 21 and the second plate 22, forms a receiving cavity S. The battery cell 10 is disposed in the receiving cavity S. A recess 211 is defined on the side of the first plate 21 facing the second plate 22. The at least one side plate 23 is inserted into the recess 211 and connected to the first plate 21.
[0075] The battery cell 10 may be the smallest unit constituting the battery 2 .
[0076] In the battery 2, there can be one or more battery cells 10. If there are multiple battery cells 10, the multiple battery cells 10 can be connected in series, in parallel, or in a hybrid connection. A hybrid connection refers to a combination of series and parallel connections among the multiple battery cells 10. The multiple battery cells 10 can be directly connected in series, in parallel, or in a hybrid connection, and then the entire battery cell 10 can be housed in the housing 20. Alternatively, multiple battery cells 10 can be first connected in series, in parallel, or in a hybrid connection to form a battery module, and then the multiple battery modules can be connected in series, in parallel, or in a hybrid connection to form a single unit and housed in the housing 20.
[0077] The first plate 21 and the second plate 22 are disposed opposite each other, and the battery cell 10 may be disposed between the first plate 21 and the second plate 22. The battery cell 10 may be fixed to the first plate 21, the second plate 22, or both.
[0078] The material of the first plate 21 and the material of the side plate 23 can be the same or different. The material of the second plate 22 and the material of the side plate 23 can be the same or different.
[0079] There can be one or more side panels 23. In some examples, there can be one side panel 23, which can be cylindrical. The side panel 23, the first panel 21, and the second panel 22 are connected to form a cylindrical box 20. In other examples, there can be multiple side panels 23, which are sequentially connected to form a frame 24. The frame 24, the first panel 21, and the second panel 22 are connected to form a prismatic box 20. Alternatively, there can be four side panels 23, and the box 20 can be rectangular.
[0080] It can be understood that the insertion of the side plate 23 into the recess 211 means that at least a portion of the side plate 23 is inserted into the recess 211 .
[0081] If the box body 20 includes one side panel 23, the side panel 23 is inserted into the recess 211 and connected to the first plate 21. If the box body 20 includes multiple side panels 23, one side panel 23 can be inserted into the recess 211, or two or more side panels 23 can be inserted into the recess 211.
[0082] The first plate 21 and the side plate 23 inserted into the recess 211 can be formed independently. For example, the two can be connected together by bonding, snapping, fastener connection, welding or other methods.
[0083] The second plate 22 and the at least one side plate 23 are formed independently, for example, the two can be connected together by bonding, clamping, fastener connection, welding or other means. Alternatively, the second plate 22 and the at least one side plate 23 are formed integrally.
[0084] In some examples, the first plate 21, the plurality of side plates 23, and the second plate 22 are all independently formed, and the plurality of side plates 23 are integrally connected to form the frame 24. In other examples, some side plates 23 are integrally formed with the first plate 21, and other side plates 23 are integrally formed with the second plate 22. The side plates 23 integrally formed with the second plate 22 are inserted into the recess 211 of the first plate 21. For example, there are four side plates 23, two of which are connected to the first plate 21 to form a U-shaped structure, and the other two side plates 23 are connected to the second plate 22 to form a U-shaped structure. In still other examples, the plurality of side plates 23 are integrally formed with the second plate 22, and the plurality of side plates 23 are independently formed from the first plate 21.
[0085] In the embodiment of the present application, the recess 211 can position the side panel 23 during assembly of the housing 20, thereby achieving connection between the first panel 21 and the side panel 23, improving the assembly efficiency of the housing 20 and the production efficiency of the battery 2. The first panel 21 can limit the portion of the side panel 23 inserted into the recess 211, thereby improving the connection strength between the first panel 21 and the side panel 23, improving the stability of the housing 20 and the reliability of the battery 2.
[0086] In some embodiments, the battery cells 10 are connected to the first plate 21 , and the first plate 21 can be used to bear the weight of the battery cells 10 .
[0087] After the battery 2 is installed in an electric device, the battery cells 10 may be located on the upper side of the first plate 21 or on the lower side of the first plate 21 .
[0088] In some embodiments, the first plate 21 and the second plate 22 are arranged along a first direction Z. For example, the first direction Z is parallel to a thickness direction of the first plate 21 and a thickness direction of the second plate 22 .
[0089] In some embodiments, the box body 20 includes a plurality of side panels 23 , which are integrally connected to form a frame body 24 . The recess 211 is annular, and each side panel 23 is inserted into the recess 211 and connected to the first plate 21 .
[0090] The recess 211 can position the side panels 23 during assembly of the box 20, thereby improving the assembly efficiency of the box 20 and the production efficiency of the battery 2. The first plate 21 can limit the frame 24, improving the stability of the box 20 and the reliability of the battery 2.
[0091] In some embodiments, there are four side panels 23 and the frame 24 can be a rectangular frame.
[0092] In some embodiments, adjacent side panels 23 are connected by rounded transitions.
[0093] In some embodiments, the box body 20 includes a lower box body, and the lower box body includes a first plate 21 and a side plate 23. The lower box body has a concave cavity, and the first plate 21 and the side plate 23 enclose and form the concave cavity with an opening.
[0094] If the lower case is an integrally formed structure, such as one-piece formed by extrusion, the dimension of the side panels along the first direction will directly affect their thickness. If the side panels along the first direction are relatively large, then due to the requirements of the extrusion process, the side panels also need to be relatively thick, resulting in a relatively heavy overall case.
[0095] The first plate 21 and the side plate 23 of the embodiment of the present application are formed independently, so that the thickness requirement of the side plate 23 can be reduced when the side plate 23 is formed, thereby reducing the increase in the weight of the box 20 when the size of the side plate 23 along the first direction Z increases, thereby improving the energy density of the battery 2.
[0096] In some embodiments, the first plate 21 and the side plates 23 may be made of the same material or different materials.
[0097] Optionally, the density of the side plate 23 may be lower than that of the first plate 21. The side plate 23 may have a lower density to reduce the weight of the side plate 23 and improve the energy density of the battery 2.
[0098] In some embodiments, the first plate 21 may be made of metal.
[0099] Metal material has high strength. Using metal material to make the first plate 21 can improve the load-bearing capacity of the first plate 21, improve the stability of the battery cell 10, and enhance the overall structural strength of the box 20, thereby improving the reliability of the battery 2.
[0100] Optionally, the first plate 21 may be made of steel, nickel-plated steel, aluminum, aluminum alloy, copper or other metal materials.
[0101] In some embodiments, the first plate 21 may be made of steel.
[0102] In some embodiments, the battery 2 further includes a colloid 30 , at least a portion of which is accommodated in the recess 211 and bonds the side plate 23 to the first plate 21 .
[0103] The colloid 30 may be entirely accommodated in the recess 211 , or only partially accommodated in the recess 211 .
[0104] Using the colloid 30 to bond the first plate 21 and the side plates 23 can reduce material requirements for the first plate 21 and the side plates 23, allowing for greater flexibility in material selection. The colloid 30 can also fill the gap between the first plate 21 and the side plates 23, providing a seal and improving the sealing of the housing 20. The recess 211 provides space for the colloid 30, reducing the space occupied by the colloid 30 in the housing 20 for accommodating the battery cells 10, thereby improving space utilization and the energy density of the battery 2.
[0105] In some examples, when assembling the box body 20, the side panels 23 may be first inserted into the recesses 211, and then glue may be injected into the recesses 211. After the glue solidifies, it forms a colloid 30, which bonds the side panels 23 and the first panel 21. In other examples, when assembling the box body 20, the glue may be first injected into the recesses 211, and then the side panels 23 may be inserted into the recesses 211. After the glue solidifies, it forms a colloid 30, which bonds the side panels 23 and the first panel 21.
[0106] In some embodiments, the first plate 21 and the side plate 23 are both made of metal, and the thickness of the side plate 23 is smaller than that of the first plate 21 .
[0107] Metal has high strength. Using metal to form the first plate 21 and side plates 23 can enhance the overall structural strength of the housing 20 and improve the reliability of the battery 2. The side plates 23 do not need to support the battery cells 10, and the strength requirements for the side plates 23 are lower than those for the first plates 21. Therefore, the side plates 23 can be thinner to reduce their weight and increase energy density while still meeting strength requirements.
[0108] In addition, the side plate 23 and the first plate 21 are independently formed, and thus, the side plate 23 may have a thickness smaller than that of the first plate 21 .
[0109] In some embodiments, the thickness of the side panel 23 is 0.2 mm to 2 mm. Optionally, the thickness of the side panel 23 is 0.2 mm, 0.5 mm, 0.8 mm, 1 mm, 1.2 mm, 1.5 mm, 1.8 mm or 2 mm.
[0110] In some embodiments, the thickness of the side panel 23 is 0.5 mm to 1 mm.
[0111] In some embodiments, the first plate 21 and the side plate 23 are both made of metal. The battery 2 further includes a colloid 30 . At least a portion of the colloid 30 is accommodated in the recess 211 and adheres the side plate 23 to the first plate 21 .
[0112] Compared to welding the first plate and side plates, using colloid 30 to bond the first plate 21 and side plates 23 can reduce the required thickness of the side plates 23. Specifically, if the first plate and side plates are connected by welding, both the first plate and the side plates need to have a certain thickness. If the thickness of the side plate or the first plate is too small, problems such as meltthrough and cracking are likely to occur. In the embodiment of the present application, using colloid 30 to bond the first plate 21 and side plates 23 can reduce the required thickness of the side plates 23, reduce the weight of the box 20, and increase the energy density of the battery 2.
[0113] In some embodiments, the battery cell 10 is connected to the first plate 21. The battery cell 10 covers at least a portion of the recess 211 in the thickness direction of the first plate 21.
[0114] The battery cell 10 can utilize the space above the recess 211 , thereby improving space utilization and increasing the energy density of the battery 2 .
[0115] In some embodiments, the first plate 21 includes a supporting wall 212 and a connecting wall 213. The supporting wall 212 is disposed opposite the second plate 22 and is connected to the battery cell 10. The connecting wall 213 is connected to the edge of the supporting wall 212 and forms a recessed portion 211. The recessed portion 211 is recessed relative to the surface of the supporting wall 212 facing the second plate 22. At least a portion of the connecting wall 213 protrudes from the surface of the supporting wall 212 facing away from the second plate 22. The connecting wall 213 is connected to the side plate 23.
[0116] Exemplarily, the carrying wall 212 is a main portion of the first plate 21 for carrying the battery cell 10 , and the thickness direction of the carrying wall 212 can be considered as the thickness direction of the first plate 21 .
[0117] There may be one or more connecting walls 213 .
[0118] In some examples, there are two connecting walls 213, which are connected to both ends of the supporting wall 212 along the second direction X. Each connecting wall 213 forms a recess 211, and the two side panels 23 are respectively inserted into the two recesses 211 and connected to the connecting walls 213. In other examples, there are two connecting walls 213, which are connected to both ends of the supporting wall 212 along the third direction Y. Each connecting wall 213 forms a recess 211, and the two side panels 23 are respectively inserted into the two recesses 211 and connected to the connecting walls 213. In some embodiments, there is one connecting wall 213 that surrounds the supporting wall 212, and the recess 211 is an annular structure, and each side panel 23 is inserted into the recess 211.
[0119] Exemplarily, the first direction Z, the second direction X, and the third direction Y are perpendicular to each other.
[0120] By bending the connecting wall 213 to form the recess 211, the resulting loss of strength to the first plate 21 can be minimized. At least a portion of the connecting wall 213 protrudes from the surface of the support wall 212 facing away from the second plate 22, increasing the depth of the recess 211 and improving the connection area and strength between the connecting wall 213 and the side plate 23. Using the connecting wall 213 to connect the side plate 23 reduces the risk of interference between the side plate 23 and the battery cell 10, thereby increasing the internal space of the housing 20.
[0121] In some embodiments, the connecting wall 213 surrounds the outer circumference of the supporting wall 212 . The recess 211 is an annular structure disposed around the supporting wall 212 .
[0122] In some examples, the connecting wall 213 includes a first portion 214 and a second portion 215 that are continuously arranged. The first portion 214 is connected to the supporting wall 212 and encloses the recess 211. The second portion 215 extends from the end of the first portion 214 away from the supporting wall 212 and protrudes from the surface of the supporting wall 212 facing the second plate 22. The side plate 23 is connected to the first portion 214, and the second portion 215 is located on the side of the side plate 23 away from the accommodating cavity S.
[0123] For example, the surface of the supporting wall 212 facing the second plate 22 may be the first surface 212a, and the surface of the supporting wall 212 facing away from the second plate 22 may be the second surface 212b. Optionally, both the first surface 212a and the second surface 212b are perpendicular to the first direction Z.
[0124] The first portion 214 may be a convex structure, and a side thereof facing the second plate 22 forms a concave portion 211. The first portion 214 at least partially protrudes from the second surface 212b.
[0125] The first portion 214 and the second portion 215 may be separated by the plane of the first surface 212a. The portion of the connecting wall 213 on the side of the interface facing the second plate 22 is the second portion 215, and the portion of the connecting wall 213 on the side of the interface facing away from the second plate 22 is the first portion 214.
[0126] The second portion 215 may be connected to the side panel 23 or may not be connected to the side panel 23. Optionally, at least a portion of the second portion 215 is bonded to the side panel 23.
[0127] The portion of the side panel 23 extending into the recess 211 can be connected to the first portion 214 to secure the side panel 23 to the first panel 21. The second portion 215 can limit the side panel 23 from the outside, thereby limiting deformation of the side panel 23 away from the accommodating cavity S, improving the stability of the connection between the side panel 23 and the first panel 21, and enhancing the reliability of the battery 2.
[0128] In some embodiments, the second portion 215 is perpendicular to the carrying wall 212 . In other words, the thickness direction of the second portion 215 is perpendicular to the thickness direction of the carrying wall 212 .
[0129] The second portion 215 can position the side panel 23 so that the side panel 23 is substantially perpendicular to the bearing wall 212 .
[0130] In some embodiments, the cross-section of the first portion 214 may be U-shaped.
[0131] In some embodiments, the first portion 214 includes a first section 214a, a second section 214b, and a third section 214c. The first section 214a is connected to the edge of the support wall 212, extends away from the second plate 22, and surrounds the support wall 212. The third section 214c surrounds the outside of the first section 214a and is spaced apart from the first section 214a. The second section 214b connects the first section 214a and the third section 214c. The first section 214a, the second section 214b, and the third section 214c form a recess 211. The second portion 215 is connected to the third section 214c. The side panel 23 is connected to the third section 214c.
[0132] In some embodiments, the third segment 214 c is perpendicular to the carrying wall 212 , and the second portion 215 extends along the first direction Z from an end of the third segment 214 c away from the second segment 214 b .
[0133] In some embodiments, the second segment 214 b is parallel to the carrying wall 212 .
[0134] In some embodiments, the battery cells 10 are bonded to the supporting walls 212. Optionally, the battery cells 10 are also bonded to the side panels 23. Simultaneously bonding the battery cells 10 to the supporting walls 212 and the side panels 23 can improve the connection strength between the battery cells 10 and the housing 20 and reduce the risk of failure in the connection between the battery cells 10 and the housing 20.
[0135] Optionally, the colloid 30 includes a first colloid 31 and a second colloid 32 . The first colloid 31 bonds the side plate 23 to the first plate 21 , and the second colloid 32 bonds the battery cell 10 to the supporting wall 212 and the side plate 23 .
[0136] For example, when assembling the battery 2, glue can be injected into the recess 211 first, and then the side panel 23 can be inserted into the recess 211. After the glue is cured, a first colloid 31 is formed. The first colloid 31 bonds the side panel 23 to the first panel 21 to form a lower box body; glue is applied to the supporting wall 212, and the battery cell 10 is pressed onto the glue. Under the action of pressure, the glue overflows between the side panel 23 and the battery cell 10; after the glue is cured, a second colloid 32 is formed. The second colloid 32 bonds the battery cell 10 to the supporting wall 212 and the side panel 23.
[0137] In some embodiments, the battery 2 further includes a reinforcing plate 40 . The reinforcing plate 40 is disposed on a side of the first plate 21 facing away from the second plate 22 and is fixed to the first plate 21 .
[0138] The reinforcing plate 40 can be integrally formed with the first plate 21 or can be formed independently. Optionally, the reinforcing plate 40 and the first plate 21 are formed independently, and the two can be connected by welding, bonding, clamping, fastener connection or other methods.
[0139] The reinforcing plate 40 may be a hollow structure or a solid structure.
[0140] By providing the reinforcing plate 40 , the bearing capacity of the first plate 21 can be improved, the deformation of the first plate 21 when the battery 2 is subjected to external impact can be reduced, and the reliability of the battery 2 can be improved.
[0141] In some embodiments, the reinforcing plate 40 is disposed on a side of the supporting wall 212 facing away from the second plate 22 and is fixed to the supporting wall 212 .
[0142] For example, the reinforcing plate 40 is attached to the second surface 212 b . In the first direction Z, the connecting wall 213 protrudes from the second surface 212 b by a height h, which may be greater than, equal to, or less than the thickness of the reinforcing plate 40 .
[0143] The reinforcing plate 40 can improve the bearing capacity of the bearing wall 212, reduce the deformation of the bearing wall 212 when the battery 2 is subjected to external impact, reduce the risk of connection failure between the battery cell 10 and the bearing wall 212, and improve the stability of the battery cell 10 and the reliability of the battery 2.
[0144] In some embodiments, the connecting wall 213 has an end surface 2131 at an end away from the second plate 22 . The end surface 2131 is flush with a surface of the reinforcing plate 40 facing away from the bearing wall 212 .
[0145] Exemplarily, the surface of the reinforcing plate 40 facing away from the bearing wall 212 and the end surface 2131 are both planes perpendicular to the first direction Z.
[0146] During the production, transportation, installation or use of the battery 2, the reinforcing plate 40 and the end face 2131 can be in contact with the external supporting mechanism at the same time. The supporting mechanism can simultaneously support the reinforcing plate 40 and the connecting wall 213, thereby reducing the pressure on the reinforcing plate 40 and the connecting wall 213, reducing the risk of deformation of the connecting wall 213 and the reinforcing plate 40, and improving the reliability of the battery 2.
[0147] FIG7 is another schematic cross-sectional view of a battery provided in some embodiments of the present application; FIG8 is an enlarged schematic view of the circle frame of FIG7 .
[0148] 7 and 8 , in some embodiments, a flow channel 41 for the heat exchange medium to flow is provided inside the reinforcing plate 40 .
[0149] When the heat exchange medium flows through the reinforcing plate 40, it can exchange heat with the battery cell 10 through the reinforcing plate 40 and the first plate 21, thereby ensuring that the battery cell 10 operates within a suitable temperature range and improving the cycle performance of the battery cell 10. The reinforcing plate 40 has both reinforcing and heat exchange functions, which can simplify the structure of the battery 2, improve the integration of the battery 2, and increase the energy density of the battery 2.

[0151] As shown in FIG. 9 , in some embodiments, the side plate 23 and the first plate 21 are directly connected.
[0152] In some embodiments, the side panels 23 are made of plastic. Plastic is lightweight, and using the side panels 23 made of plastic can reduce the weight of the side panels 23 and increase the energy density of the battery 2.
[0153] In some embodiments, the side panels 23 are connected to the first panel 21 by injection molding.
[0154] Directly connecting the side plate 23 and the first plate 21 by injection molding can simplify the molding process, increase the connection strength between the side plate 23 and the first plate 21 , and improve the sealing performance.
[0155] In some embodiments, the first plate 21 is made of metal. Metal and plastic are different materials and are difficult to weld. Therefore, injection molding can be used to connect the side plate 23 to the first plate 21.
[0156] In some embodiments, the first plate 21 may first be subjected to a nano-surface treatment to create nano-scale micropores on the surface of the first plate 21. The plastic side plates 23 are then connected to the metal first plate 21 through integrated injection molding. The nano-surface treatment of the first plate 21 increases the connection area between the first plate 21 and the side plates 23, thereby improving the connection strength between the plastic side plates 23 and the metal first plate 21.
[0157] In some embodiments, the side panel 23 completely fills the recess 211 .

The plate body portion 232 is connected to the second panel 22 .
[0159] In some embodiments, the thickness of the plate body 232 can be greater than the thickness of the first plate 21. The side panels 23 are made of plastic and are relatively light; provided that the weight of the side panels 23 meets the requirements, the plate body 232 can be relatively thick to increase the strength of the side panels 23.
[0160] In some embodiments, the second portion 215 is located on a side of the plate body 232 facing away from the accommodating cavity S.

[0170] In the embodiment of the present application, the positioning protrusion 233 can limit the second plate 22 during the process of inserting the second plate 22 into the opening 241, reducing the risk of the second plate 22 being over-inserted into the frame 24, thereby simplifying the assembly process and improving the assembly efficiency of the box 20.
[0171] In some embodiments, the frame 24 is provided with a plurality of positioning protrusions 233 , and the plurality of positioning protrusions 233 may be arranged at intervals along the circumference of the frame 24 . Optionally, each side plate 23 is provided with a positioning protrusion 233 .
[0172] In some embodiments, a receiving groove 50 is formed between the portion of the second plate 22 inserted into the opening 241 and the inner surface of the frame 24. The battery 2 further includes a sealant 60 filled in the receiving groove 50.
[0173] The inner surface of the frame body 24 is the surface of the frame body 24 facing the accommodating cavity S. The inner surface of the frame body 24 includes the inner surfaces of the plurality of side panels 23 .
[0174] Sealant 60 not only connects frame 24 and second plate 22, but also seals the gap between second plate 22 and frame 24, improving sealing. Using the receiving groove 50 inside frame 24 to dispose sealant 60 improves space utilization, reduces the maximum size of battery 2, and increases the energy density of battery 2.
[0175] Compared to the solution of providing a flange structure on the frame and achieving sealing by clamping the sealant between the second plate and the flange structure, the embodiment of the present application can reduce the maximum size of the battery 2 and improve the energy density of the battery 2.
[0176] In some embodiments, the receiving groove 50 surrounds the outer side of the second plate 22 .
[0177] In some embodiments, the outer periphery of the second plate 22 is bent to form a bent portion 221 . A receiving groove 50 is formed between the bent portion 221 and the inner surface of the frame 24 .
[0178] According to some embodiments of the present application, the present application further provides an electrical device comprising a battery according to any of the above embodiments, the battery being used to provide electrical energy to the electrical device. The electrical device may be any of the aforementioned devices or systems using the battery.
