Description

[0001] HYBRID GENERATOR SYSTEM

[0002] Technical Field

[0003] The invention relates to a hybrid generator system that uses solar energy from renewable energy sources.

[0004] The invention relates particularly to a hybrid generator system that provides maximum benefit from solar energy by suitably using off-grid solar and diesel generator together in places where there is no electricity grid, minimises the need of the generator and provides clean and uninterrupted energy.

[0005] State of the Art

[0006] Today, there are 48VDC alternator or 230VAC low-power hybrid generator systems formed by placing solar panels on the generator cabin. The limited space on the generator cabin causes the solar panel to remain at low power. The diesel generator is at the centre of the energy source of said systems. For this reason, it generally works as 10-40% solar energy and 60-90% generator.

[0007] In the state of the art, 48VDC hybrid generators are designed only for telecom systems. Since telecom systems begun to need 230V-400V AC voltage due to the developing technology, current hybrid generators are not suitable for the operation of telecom systems.

[0008] Again, in state of the art, 48VDC hybrid generators are not preferred today because it is very difficult to find spare parts for the alternator, motor and electronic components used.

[0009] Since the primary energy source in today's hybrid generators is designed as the generator, 10%-40% benefit can be obtained from the solar energy source. This situation causes the hybrid generator to cause more carbon emissions. In addition, since the diesel generator works more in said hybrid generators, it requires more frequent maintenance. This situation creates more waste and more maintenance costs. Hybrid generators are not produced in large powers. (They are generally produced in the 3kVA-30kVA range.) In addition, they do not have the feature of being connected to the electrical grid network.

[0010] During the research conducted in the state of the art, the application numbered TR2015 / 04438 was found. The application relates to a portable hybrid electric generator. In this system, the energy coming from the wind and water turbine is stored, converted and used. However, the application does not include the use of off-grid solar and diesel generators together.

[0011] Conclusively, due to the above-described problems and the insufficiency of the existing solutions made it necessary to make an improvement in the relevant technical field.

[0012] The Aim of the Invention

[0013] The invention is inspired by current situations and aims to solve the above-mentioned drawbacks.

[0014] In the invention, instead of placing solar panels on the solar hybrid diesel generator cabin, the required solar panels are installed on the building roof or on the ground. The solar hybrid diesel generator has a 230V-400V AC alternator. In the invention, up to 90% of the energy need is met by solar panels and up to 10% by the diesel generator. Thus, especially in places where there is no grid electricity, uninterrupted, economical, efficient and environmentally friendly energy is provided.

[0015] Since the primary energy source in the solar hybrid diesel generator system of the invention is solar energy, up to 90% of the use comes from the solar energy and up to 10% from the diesel generator. Thus, lower fuel consumption provides lower carbon emissions.

[0016] In the solar hybrid diesel generator system, less maintenance is needed, less maintenance costs and less waste is generated due to the less work of the diesel generator. The solar hybrid diesel generator system can be made up to 7kVA-2750kVA.

[0017] The invention can prioritise energy sources by being connected to the electrical grid network. As energy source, it can use solar + storage / solar + electric grid network / electric grid network + storage etc. Priority is to meet the energy need from solar, then from lithium batteries if there is no sun, then from the electric grid network when lithium batteries have no energy left, and finally from the diesel generator if there is no electric grid network.

[0018] Since the invention is produced with industrial diesel generators and standard alternators, it does not have a spare parts problem.

[0019] The aim of the invention is to create smart micro grids. Said system can be used as a reliable energy source in places where the electricity grid is problematic.

[0020] Another aim of the invention is to provide clean and safe energy independent of the grid.

[0021] The structural and characteristic features and all the advantages of the invention will be more clearly understood by means of the figures given below and the detailed description written with references to these figures, and therefore the evaluation should be made by taking these figures and the detailed explanation into consideration.

[0033] 6. Diesel generator Detailed Description of the Invention

[0034] In this detailed description, the preferred embodiments of the hybrid generator system which is the subject of the invention are explained only for the purpose of better understanding the subject.

[0035] The invention is a hybrid generator system that provides maximum benefit from solar energy in places where there is no electricity network, and in which automation and control are carried out by the control unit (4), comprising solar charge controller (2) that converts the current coming from solar panels installed on the roof or on the ground; On / Off grid inverter (1) that provides energy by converting the current received from the solar charge controller (2) into suitable AC current; lithium battery (3) where the excess energy generated in the inverter (1) is stored; and diesel generator (6) that delivers suitable AC current to the inverter (1) when sufficient energy cannot be provided from the solar panels and the energy of the lithium battery (3) drops to a critical level

[0036] In the invention, all energy management is provided via the inverter (1). The excess energy coming from the sun is stored in the lithium battery (3). The automation and control of the system that is the subject of the invention is carried out by the control unit (4). The control unit (4) transmits data such as solar production, generator, tank fuel amount, consumption data, production reports, etc. to the user via the screen it has. In addition, data can be controlled via the application loaded onto the mobile device.

[0037] The connection to the consumption point is made by the output switches (5). A diesel generator (6) is used for 230VAC / 400VAC electricity production in the system.

[0038] In an environment where there is no grid energy, the consumption point is connected to the output switch (5) of the On / Off grid inverter (1) located in the solar hybrid diesel generator (6) to meet the energy need. The 90-450VDC current coming from the solar panels is converted to 48VDC by the solar charge control device (2) and the lithium batteries (3) are charged and connected to the inverter (1).

[0039] The inverter (1) meets the energy demand by converting the 48VDC current to 230VAC / 400VAC current. The energy coming from the solar panels is first met by the inverter (1) and the excess energy is stored in lithium batteries (3). When the solar panels do not produce energy (at night, etc.) or are insufficient, the energy demand is met by the energy stored in lithium batteries (3). In cases where the energy stored in lithium batteries (3) is not enough to meet the energy coming from solar panels (indoors, high energy consumption), when the energy of the lithium batteries (3) drops to a critical level, the diesel generator (6) automatically starts operating and transmits the 230VAC / 400VAC current it produces to the inverter (1) to which it is connected. The inverter (1) meets the energy demand at the output with this current and at the same time charges the lithium batteries (3) to which it is connected with 48VDC. When the charge of the lithium batteries (3) reaches the desired level, the diesel generator (6) automatically shuts down. Energy consumption continues to be provided by the inverter (1) and lithium batteries (3). All this automation is controlled by the control unit (4).
