Description

Liquid-cooled high-voltage box and energy storage battery system

[0001] This application claims priority to the Chinese patent application filed with the China Patent Office on July 26, 2024, with application number 202421801121.1. The entire contents of the above application are incorporated by reference into this application.

[0002] Technical Field

[0003] The present application relates to the technical field of battery energy storage systems, for example, to a liquid-cooled high-voltage box and an energy storage battery system.

[0004] Background Art

[0005] The high-voltage box is a device used to house the battery management system. It houses the high-voltage components that control the battery's high-voltage system. These components generate significant heat during use. To prevent damage due to overheating, the high-voltage box must have excellent heat dissipation performance and a good seal.

[0006] Technical issues

[0007] The high-voltage box in the related art can usually only dissipate heat naturally, and the heat dissipation effect is poor. If the heat dissipation effect is to be improved, heat dissipation ports are often opened or heat dissipation devices such as fans are installed on the box body of the high-voltage box, which makes it difficult for the high-voltage box to have good sealing.

[0008] Technical Solutions

[0009] The present application provides a liquid-cooled high-pressure box, comprising a base plate, a cover plate and a frame. The base plate is arranged on a first side of the frame, and the cover plate is arranged on a second side of the frame. The base plate, the cover plate and the frame form a cavity for placing high-voltage components. At least a portion of the base plate is provided with a cavity for circulating coolant. The high-voltage components are arranged on the base plate, and some of the high-voltage components are located directly above the cavity for circulating coolant. The base plate is provided with an inlet for introducing coolant and an outlet for discharging coolant, and the inlet, cavity and outlet are connected in sequence.

[0010] The present application also provides an energy storage battery system, including a battery pack, high-voltage components and a liquid-cooled high-voltage box. The battery pack is arranged on one side of the liquid-cooled high-voltage box, the high-voltage components are arranged in the liquid-cooled high-voltage box, and the battery pack is electrically connected to the high-voltage components.

[0011] Beneficial effects

[0012] The beneficial effects of this application are:

[0013] By opening a cavity in the base plate and passing coolant into the cavity, the coolant is used to exchange heat with the high-voltage components in the liquid-cooled high-pressure box, so as to achieve the effect of heat dissipation of the high-voltage components, and the coolant with a lower temperature is continuously injected into the cavity through the inlet, and the coolant with a higher temperature that has absorbed the heat of the high-voltage components in the cavity flows out from the outlet, so as to achieve the effect of always maintaining the coolant in the cavity at a lower temperature; there is no need to open heat dissipation holes or install heat dissipation devices such as fans on the base plate, cover plate, or frame, thereby ensuring the sealing of the cavity surrounded by the base plate, cover plate or frame.

[0026] Modes for Carrying Out the Invention

[0027] 1 and 2 , the present application provides a liquid-cooled high-pressure box, comprising a base plate 1, a cover plate 2 and a frame; the base plate 1 is arranged on a first side of the frame, and the cover plate 2 is arranged on a second side of the frame; the base plate 1, the cover plate 2 and the frame form a cavity 5 for placing high-voltage components 18; a cavity 4 for circulating coolant is provided in at least part of the base plate 1; an inlet 6 for introducing coolant and an outlet 7 for discharging coolant are provided on the base plate 1, and both the inlet 6 and the outlet 7 are connected to the cavity 4.

[0028] The frame includes a plurality of side panels 3 that are enclosed and connected. The bottom plate 1, the cover plate 2 and the side panels 3 are all rectangular plates. The bottom plate 1, the cover plate 2 and the side panels 3 form a hollow cuboid. The side panels 3 can be connected to the bottom plate 1 by welding or integral molding. In this embodiment, the integral molding method is adopted. After the side panels 3 and the bottom plate 1 are integrally molded, the side panels 3 are bent upward to a degree perpendicular to the bottom plate 1. The top of the side panels 3 is bent toward the cavity 5 to form a connecting edge 8 that fits with the cover plate 2. The cover plate 2 is placed on the top of the side panels 3 and abuts against the connecting edge 8. The cover plate 2 is fixed to the connecting edge 8 by bolts, which also makes it convenient to open the cover plate 2 to repair the high-voltage components 18 in the liquid-cooled high-pressure box. The bottom plate 1 includes an upper plate 101 and a lower plate 102. There is a gap between the upper plate 101 and the lower plate 102, which is the cavity 4. High-voltage components 18 are mounted on upper plate 101, allowing direct heat exchange with the coolant within cavity 4 through upper plate 101. The coolant can be a liquid with a high specific heat capacity, such as ethylene glycol, glycerol, or water; water is used in this embodiment. During operation, the coolant within cavity 4 is maintained at a consistently low temperature by continuously injecting coolant at a lower temperature into the cavity 4 and allowing the higher-temperature coolant within the cavity 4, which has absorbed heat from the high-voltage components 18, to flow out of outlet 7.

[0029] 5 and 6 , in this embodiment, the cavity 4 includes a strong cooling zone 401 and a weak cooling zone 402 ; the cooling liquid flows through the strong cooling zone 401 .

[0030] Some high-voltage components 18 in the liquid-cooled high-voltage box generate relatively little heat during use, such as circuit breakers. Therefore, these high-voltage components 18 with less heat generation can be placed above the weak cooling zone 402; the remaining high-voltage components 18 with greater heat generation, such as fuses and pre-charge resistors, are placed above the strong cooling zone 401. This arrangement can achieve targeted cooling, minimize the use of coolant, and achieve the effect of cost savings. Referring to Figure 2, in this embodiment, the strong cooling zone 401 and the weak cooling zone 402 each occupy half of the cavity 4, that is, the strong cooling zone 401 and the weak cooling zone 402 are one to one. To prevent coolant from flowing from the weak cooling zone 402 into the strong cooling zone 401, an isolation strip 9 is further provided in the cavity 4. The isolation strip 9 is located between the strong cooling zone 401 and the weak cooling zone 402 and is arranged along the length of the bottom plate 1. The isolation strip 9 can be an additional strip welded into the cavity 4, or it can be formed in the cavity 4 by stamping the lower plate 102 of the bottom plate 1. In this embodiment, the isolation strip 9 is formed by stamping the lower plate 102. The top surface of the isolation strip 9 is welded to the upper plate 101, thereby separating the strong cooling zone 401 from the weak cooling zone 402.

[0031] In this embodiment, the strong cooling zone 401 is provided with a flow channel 10 configured to circulate the coolant; the inlet 6 is connected to the outlet 7 through the flow channel 10 ; and the flow channel 10 is distributed throughout the strong cooling zone 401 .

[0032] 5 and 6 , the flow channel 10 winds along the length of the strong cooling zone 401, achieving the effect of traversing the strong cooling zone 401. By providing the flow channel 10, the coolant can flow in an orderly manner from the inlet 6 to the outlet 7 in the cavity 4, ensuring that the coolant entering from the inlet 6 can completely traverse the strong cooling zone 401 and remove the heat from the high-voltage components 18 in the strong cooling zone 401. This avoids the situation where the coolant enters the cavity 4 from the inlet 6 and flows directly out of the outlet 7, while the coolant in the cavity 4 does not flow out in time.

[0033] In this embodiment, a plurality of partition bars 11 are provided in the cavity 4 . Two opposite side surfaces of the partition bars 11 are respectively connected to the bottom surface and the top surface of the cavity 4 . There is a gap between two adjacent partition bars 11 to form a flow channel 10 .

[0034] Referring to Figures 3 to 6 , a spacer 11 is arranged within the cavity 4 along the length of the base plate 1, and the spacer 11 is parallel to the length of the base plate 1. The ends of the spacer 11 do not contact the inner wall of the cavity 4, so that two adjacent flow channels 10 are in a connected state. The spacer 11 can be a strip welded to the bottom surface of the cavity 4, or it can be formed by stamping the lower plate 102 of the base plate 1. In this embodiment, the spacer 11 is formed by stamping the lower plate 102 of the base plate 1. The top surface of the spacer 11 is welded to the upper plate 101, ensuring that the coolant can only flow into the next flow channel 10 from the ends of the spacer 11, preventing the coolant from flowing between two adjacent flow channels 10 by passing over the spacer 11.

[0035] In another embodiment, the flow channel 10 can also be a pipe made of a material with high thermal conductivity, such as a copper tube or a stainless steel tube, and then the flow channel 10 is tightly attached to the upper plate 101 to reduce the distance between the flow channel 10 and the high-voltage components 18 and improve the thermal conductivity.

[0036] In this embodiment, a boss 12 is provided in the weak cooling zone 402 , and two opposite side surfaces of the boss 12 are connected to the bottom surface and the top surface of the cavity 4 respectively.

[0037] Referring to Figures 3 to 6, the boss 12 can be a square columnar object, welded to the bottom surface of the cavity 4, or can be formed by stamping the lower plate 102 of the bottom plate 1. The boss 12 in this embodiment is formed by stamping the lower plate 102 of the bottom plate 1. The extension direction of the boss 12 is parallel to the extension direction of the partition 11. The boss 12 is arranged on the bottom surface of the cavity 4 along the length direction of the bottom plate 1. The top surface of the boss 12 abuts against the top surface of the cavity 4, thereby providing support for the upper plate 101 of the bottom plate 1 in the weak cooling zone 402, avoiding the situation where the upper plate 101 in the weak cooling zone 402 is under too much pressure and becomes concave. At the same time, the upper plate 101 in the strong cooling zone 401 is supported by the partition 11.

[0038] In this embodiment, a liquid outlet pipe 13 and a liquid inlet pipe 14 are provided on the side panel 3; the liquid outlet pipe 13 is connected to the outlet 7; and the liquid inlet pipe 14 is connected to the inlet 6. Optionally, the liquid outlet pipe 13 and the liquid inlet pipe 14 are provided on the same side panel 3, and the liquid outlet pipe 13 and the liquid inlet pipe 14 are respectively located at the two ends of the extension direction of the side panel 3.

[0039] The liquid inlet pipe 14 and the liquid outlet pipe 13 both pass through the side panel 3 and pass through the upper plate 101 of the bottom plate 1 to communicate with the strong cooling zone 401 of the cavity 4. The side panel 3 provided with the liquid outlet pipe 13 and the liquid inlet pipe 14 is also provided with a plurality of interfaces for power lines to pass through or for installing operating buttons. In order to avoid affecting the user's wiring operation or affecting the use of the operating button, the liquid inlet pipe 14 and the liquid outlet pipe 13 can be set at both ends of the side panel 3 in the length direction. For example, the liquid inlet pipe 14 is set at the end close to the weak cooling zone 402, and the liquid outlet pipe 13 is located at the end close to the strong cooling zone 401. Such an arrangement can make the temperature of the coolant filled in the flow channel 10 close to the weak cooling zone 402 lower. On the one hand, it can help reduce the temperature of the weak cooling zone 402. On the other hand, since the temperature of the middle part of the entire liquid-cooled high-pressure box will be higher than the temperature of the edge position, such an arrangement can also improve the heat dissipation effect of the middle part of the liquid-cooled high-pressure box.

[0040] In this embodiment, a plurality of supporting protrusions 15 and a plurality of supporting plates 16 for increasing the strength of the bottom plate 1 are provided on the side of the bottom plate 1 facing away from the cover plate 2 .

[0041] The support plates 16 are arranged perpendicular to the spacer bars 11. They adhere closely to the bottom surface of the base plate 1 and are secured to the base plate 1 by welding. The number of support plates 16 can be arbitrary. In this embodiment, there are three support plates 16, arranged perpendicular to the direction of extension of the spacer bars 11, with the distance between adjacent support plates 16 being equal. The support plates 16 reinforce the structural strength of the base plate 1 and prevent deformation. The support protrusions 15 can be of any form, as long as they support the entire liquid-cooled high-pressure tank and provide a gap between the base plate 1 and the plane on which it rests. For example, the support protrusions 15 can be cylindrical or strip-shaped. In this embodiment, the support protrusions 15 are strip-shaped with a rectangular cross-section. They are arranged on both sides of the base plate 1 along the extension direction of the support plates 16, i.e., the extension direction of the support protrusions 15 is perpendicular to the extension direction of the support plates 16. Supporting the liquid-cooled high-pressure tank with the support protrusions 15 reduces the chance of scratches on the base plate 1 and protects it.

[0042] In this embodiment, a sealing strip 17 is installed between the cover plate 2 and the side plate 3. This strip is attached to the connecting edge 8 of the side plate 3 by means of adhesive. When the cover plate 2 is placed on the connecting edge 8, the strip fills the gap between the cover plate 2 and the connecting edge 8, achieving a sealing effect. The provision of the sealing strip 17 improves the waterproofing of the entire liquid-cooled high-pressure box.

[0043] 7, 8, and 9, this embodiment further provides an energy storage battery system, including a battery pack 19, high-voltage components 18, and a liquid-cooled high-voltage box 20. The battery pack 19 is disposed on one side of the liquid-cooled high-voltage box 20, and the high-voltage components 18 are disposed within the liquid-cooled high-voltage box 20. The battery pack 19 is electrically connected to the high-voltage components 18. The use of the liquid-cooled high-voltage box provided in this embodiment of the application to load the high-voltage components 18 can better control the operating temperature of the high-voltage components 18, preventing the high-voltage components 18 from overheating, thereby increasing the service life of the high-voltage components 18 and reducing the occurrence of operational failures. At the same time, the excellent sealing performance of the liquid-cooled high-voltage box can also prevent the high-voltage components 18 from contacting water, thereby improving the operating safety of the high-voltage components 18.
