[0001] The present invention relates to a composition containing a pigment. The present invention also relates to a film, an optical filter, a solid-state imaging device, and an image display device using the composition containing a pigment.
[0002] Color filters are manufactured using compositions containing coloring materials such as pigments.
[0003] Patent Document 1 describes an invention relating to a coloring composition for color filters that contains a diketopyrrolopyrrole pigment, a basic pigment derivative, and a resin-type dispersant.
[0004] Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2020-172563
[0005] In recent years, there has been a strong demand for smaller and thinner solid-state imaging devices. Therefore, in recent years, there has been a demand for thinner films containing color materials, such as color filters, used in solid-state imaging devices. To achieve thinner films while maintaining desired spectral performance, it is necessary to increase the color material concentration of the resin composition used to form the film.
[0006] However, when a colorant containing a pigment is used, increasing the colorant concentration in the composition relatively reduces the proportion of materials such as resins that can adsorb to the pigment, which makes the pigment more likely to aggregate during storage of the composition, and the viscosity of the composition tends to increase over time.
[0007] Therefore, an object of the present invention is to provide a composition having excellent storage stability, and a film, an optical filter, a solid-state imaging device, and an image display device.
[0008] The present inventors have conducted research and found that the above object can be achieved by using the composition described below, and have thus completed the present invention.
[0009] <1> A composition comprising: a pigment A; a compound B having a pigment structure, at least one structure selected from an aromatic ring and a heteroaromatic ring, and an acid group, and having a molecular weight of 122 or more but less than 2,000; a compound C having two or more amino groups per molecule and a molecular weight of 60 or more but less than 2,000; and a compound D having a weight-average molecular weight of 2,000 to 30,000, and having at least one structure selected from a polyester structure and a polyether structure, and at least one group selected from an acid group and a basic group. <2> The composition according to <1>, wherein the compound C is polyethyleneimine. <3> The composition according to <1>, wherein the compound C is a compound having a heteroaromatic ring. <4> The composition according to any one of <1> to <3>, wherein the amine value of the compound C is 800 mgKOH / g or more. <5> The composition according to any one of <1> to <4>, containing 10 to 150 parts by mass of the compound C relative to 100 parts by mass of the compound B. <6> The composition according to any one of <1> to <5>, containing 5 to 15 parts by mass of the compound B, 2 to 8 parts by mass of the compound C, and 30 to 50 parts by mass of the compound D relative to 100 parts by mass of the pigment A. <7> The composition according to any one of <1> to <6>, further containing a polymerizable compound and a photopolymerization initiator. <8> The composition according to <7>, in which the content of the pigment A in the total solid content of the composition is 50% by mass or more. <9> The composition according to any one of <1> to <8>, in which the pigment A contains at least one pigment selected from a diketopyrrolopyrrole pigment and a phthalocyanine pigment. <10> A film comprising the composition according to any one of <1> to <9>. <11> An optical filter having the film according to <10>. <12> A solid-state imaging device having the film according to <10>. <13> An image display device having the film according to <10>.
[0010] According to the present invention, a composition having excellent storage stability can be provided. The present invention also provides a film, an optical filter, a solid-state imaging device, and an image display device.
[0011] The present invention will be described in detail below. In this specification, the term "to" is used to mean that the numerical values before and after the term are included as the lower and upper limits. In the description of groups (atomic groups) in this specification, a term without specifying whether it is substituted or unsubstituted encompasses both unsubstituted groups (atomic groups) and substituted groups (atomic groups). For example, the term "alkyl group" encompasses not only unsubstituted alkyl groups (unsubstituted alkyl groups) but also substituted alkyl groups (substituted alkyl groups). In this specification, unless otherwise specified, "exposure" includes not only exposure using light but also drawing using particle beams such as electron beams and ion beams. Examples of light used for exposure include the bright line spectrum of a mercury lamp, far ultraviolet light typified by excimer lasers, extreme ultraviolet light (EUV light), X-rays, electron beams, and other actinic rays or radiation. As used herein, "(meth)acrylate" refers to either or both of acrylate and methacrylate, "(meth)acrylic" refers to either or both of acrylic and methacrylic, and "(meth)acryloyl" refers to either or both of acryloyl and methacryloyl. In the structural formulae herein, Me refers to a methyl group, Et refers to an ethyl group, Bu refers to a butyl group, and Ph refers to a phenyl group. As used herein, the weight-average molecular weight and number-average molecular weight are polystyrene-equivalent values measured by GPC (gel permeation chromatography). As used herein, the term "total solids" refers to the total mass of all components of a composition excluding the solvent. As used herein, the term "pigment" refers to a coloring material that is difficult to dissolve in a solvent. As used herein, the term "process" refers not only to an independent process, but also to a process that cannot be clearly distinguished from other processes, as long as the intended effect of the process is achieved.
[0012] <Composition> The composition of the present invention is characterized by comprising: pigment A; compound B having an acid group and at least one structure selected from a pigment structure, an aromatic ring, and a heteroaromatic ring, and having a molecular weight of 122 or more and less than 2000; compound C having two or more amino groups in one molecule and having a molecular weight of 60 or more and less than 2000; and compound D having a weight average molecular weight of 2000 to 30000, and having at least one structure selected from a polyester structure and a polyether structure, and at least one group selected from an acid group and a basic group.
[0013] The composition of the present invention exhibits good pigment dispersibility in the composition, can suppress an increase in viscosity over time, and has excellent storage stability. The reason for this effect is presumed to be as follows: Pigment A and either Compound B or Compound C are adsorbed to the pigment surface due to an anchoring effect or the like, and Compounds B and C are adsorbed via acid-base interaction. Furthermore, it is presumed that when Compound D is a compound having an acid group, Compound D is adsorbed to Compound C via acid-base interaction, and when Compound D is a compound having a basic group, Compound D is adsorbed to Compound B via acid-base interaction. Therefore, it is presumed that a strong network structure is formed between Pigment A, Compound B, Compound C, and Compound D in the composition. Furthermore, because Compound D has a relatively large weight-average molecular weight, it is presumed that Compound D can suppress aggregation between pigments. Therefore, it is presumed that the dispersibility of the pigment in the composition can be increased, the increase in viscosity over time can be suppressed, and storage stability can be improved.

[0196] As the photopolymerization initiator, a bifunctional or trifunctional or higher functional photoradical polymerization initiator may be used. By using such a photoradical polymerization initiator, two or more radicals are generated from one molecule of the photoradical polymerization initiator, thereby obtaining good sensitivity. Furthermore, when a compound with an asymmetric structure is used, crystallinity is reduced and solubility in solvents and the like is improved, making it less likely to precipitate over time, thereby improving the storage stability of the coloring composition. Specific examples of bifunctional or trifunctional or higher functional photoradical polymerization initiators include the compounds described in paragraph 0148 of WO 2022 / 065215.
[0197] The content of the photopolymerization initiator in the total solid content of the composition is preferably 0.1 to 20% by mass. [0199] The metal content of the organic solvent is preferably low. The metal content of the organic solvent is preferably, for example, 10 parts per billion (ppb) by mass or less. If necessary, an organic solvent with a mass ppt (parts per trillion) level may be used, and such an organic solvent is provided, for example, by Toyo Gosei Co., Ltd. (The Chemical Daily, November 13, 2015).

These substances are registered as environmentally restricted substances under the REACH (Registration Evaluation Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals) regulations, the PRTR (Pollutant Release and Transfer Register) Act, the VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds) regulations, etc., and their usage amounts and handling methods are strictly regulated. These compounds may be used as solvents when producing each component used in the composition, and may be mixed into the composition as a residual solvent. From the viewpoints of human safety and environmental considerations, it is preferable to reduce these substances as much as possible. Examples of methods for reducing environmentally restricted substances include a method in which the system is heated or depressurized to a temperature above the boiling point of the environmentally restricted substance, thereby distilling off the environmentally restricted substance from the system. Furthermore, when distilling off a small amount of environmentally regulated substances, it is useful to perform azeotropy with a solvent having a boiling point equivalent to that of the solvent in question in order to increase efficiency. Furthermore, when a radically polymerizable compound is contained, a polymerization inhibitor or the like may be added before distillation under reduced pressure to prevent intermolecular crosslinking due to the progress of a radical polymerization reaction during distillation under reduced pressure. These distillation methods can be used at any stage, such as the stage of raw materials, the stage of a product obtained by reacting the raw materials (e.g., a resin solution or a polyfunctional monomer solution after polymerization), or the stage of a composition prepared by mixing these compounds.

[0279] <Evaluation> (Storage Stability) The viscosity (mPa s) of the composition immediately after production was measured using an "RE-85L" manufactured by Toki Sangyo Co., Ltd. After the measurement, the composition was allowed to stand at 45°C, shielded from light, for 3 days, and the viscosity (mPa s) was measured again. The storage stability was evaluated based on the difference in viscosity (ΔVis) before and after the standing, according to the following evaluation criteria. The smaller the viscosity difference (ΔVis) value, the better the storage stability of the composition. All of the viscosity measurements were performed in a laboratory where the temperature and humidity were controlled to 22±5°C and 60±20%, with the temperature of the composition adjusted to 25°C. -Evaluation criteria- 4: ΔVis was 0.2 mPa·s or less 3: ΔVis was more than 0.2 mPa·s and 0.3 mPa·s or less 2: ΔVis was more than 0.3 mPa·s and 0.5 mPa·s or less 1: ΔVis was more than 0.5 mPa·s
[0280] (Brightness Unevenness) CT-4000 (manufactured by FUJIFILM Electronic Materials Co., Ltd.) was applied to a glass substrate by spin coating to a film thickness of 0.1 μm, and heated using a hot plate at 220° C. for 1 hour to form an underlayer. Each composition was applied to the glass substrate with the underlayer by spin coating, and then heated using a hot plate at 100° C. for 2 minutes to obtain a composition layer with a thickness of 0.5 μm. This composition layer was irradiated with light having a wavelength of 365 nm at an exposure dose of 500 mJ / cm. 2The substrate was exposed to light at 1000 K. Then, a hot plate was used to post-bake the substrate at 220°C for 300 seconds to form a film. The luminance distribution of the glass substrate (evaluation substrate) on which this film was formed was analyzed using the following method, and the luminance unevenness was evaluated based on the number of pixels whose deviation from the average was ±10% or more. The luminance distribution measurement method is described below. The evaluation substrate was placed between the observation lens and light source of an optical microscope, and light was irradiated toward the observation lens. The transmitted light state was observed using an optical microscope MX-50 (manufactured by Olympus Corporation) equipped with a digital camera. Photographs of five arbitrarily selected regions of the film surface were taken. The luminance of the photographed images was quantified as a density distribution of 256 gradations from 0 to 255 and saved. The luminance distribution was analyzed from this image, and the luminance unevenness was evaluated based on the number of pixels whose deviation from the average exceeded ±10%. The evaluation criteria are as follows: 4: The number of pixels whose deviation from the average exceeded ±10% was 3,000 or less. 3: The number of pixels that deviate from the average by more than ±10% is more than 3,000 and not more than 5,000. 2: The number of pixels that deviate from the average by more than ±10% is more than 5,000 and not more than 15,000. 1: The number of pixels that deviate from the average by more than ±10% is more than 15,000.
[0281] (Development Residue) An underlayer-forming composition (CT-4000, manufactured by Fujifilm Electronic Materials Co., Ltd.) was applied to an 8-inch (20.32 cm) silicon wafer using a spin coater so that the thickness after post-baking would be 0.1 μm, and the wafer was heated at 220° C. for 300 seconds using a hot plate to form an underlayer, thereby obtaining a silicon wafer (support) with an underlayer. Next, each composition was applied by spin coating so that the film thickness after post-baking would be 0.62 μm. Next, the wafer was heated at 100° C. for 2 minutes using a hot plate. Next, an i-line stepper exposure system FPA-3000i5+ (manufactured by Canon Inc.) was used to expose the wafer to 1000 mJ / cm of light with a wavelength of 365 nm. 2The silicon wafer with the exposed coating film formed thereon was exposed through a mask with a 1.0 μm square dot pattern at an exposure dose of 1000 μm. Next, the silicon wafer with the exposed coating film formed thereon was placed on the horizontal rotating table of a spin-shower developer (DW-30 model, manufactured by Chemitronics Corporation) and subjected to puddle development at 23°C for 60 seconds using a 60% diluted solution of CD-2000 (manufactured by Fujifilm Electronic Materials Co., Ltd.). The silicon wafer was then fixed to the horizontal rotating table using a vacuum chuck. While rotating the silicon wafer at 50 rpm using a rotating device, pure water was supplied in shower form from a spray nozzle from above the center of rotation to perform a rinse treatment, followed by spray drying. Further, a heat treatment (post-bake) was performed for 300 seconds using a hot plate at 200°C to form a pattern (pixels). The silicon wafer with the formed pixels was observed with a scanning electron microscope (SEM) (magnification 10,000x), and development residue was evaluated according to the following evaluation criteria. -Evaluation criteria- 4: No residue was found outside the pixel formation area (unexposed area) 3: A very small amount of residue was found outside the pixel formation area (unexposed area), but it was not a problem in practical use 2: A small amount of residue was found outside the pixel formation area (unexposed area), but it was not a problem in practical use 1: Significant residue was found outside the pixel formation area (unexposed area)
