Description

A light string structure Technical Field

[0001] The present invention relates to the field of decorative lighting electronics, and in particular to a lamp string structure. Background Art

[0002] In the decorative lighting market, with the maturation of automated soldering and SMD component soldering, two types of LED light strings have emerged: "hide-wire" and "exposed" (also called "perforated) lights. Hide-wire lights primarily utilize SMD component soldering to directly solder SMD LEDs to transmission lines; exposed lights primarily utilize two-pin, in-line LEDs soldered to a circuit board, then automated soldering technology to solder the transmission lines to the board. Both of these light strings can be created using LEDs of varying colors and combined with various shapes (such as animals, text, trees, and buildings) to create vibrant and colorful designs.

[0003] Currently, exposed light strings can only be connected in parallel. This parallel connection leads to high current flowing through the transmission line, limiting the number of exposed lights connected in parallel and restricting the length of the string. Decorative light strings also suffer from the same drawback. While these can achieve higher voltages by first connecting in parallel and then in series, this approach limits the length and prevents trimming (as trimming would also change the string's supply voltage), making installation inconvenient. Furthermore, there is room for improvement in the circuit structure and other aspects of decorative light strings. Summary of the Invention

For example, a first element may also be referred to as a second element, and similarly, a second element may also be referred to as a first element without departing from the scope of the present disclosure.

[0041] 1 to 8 , in some embodiments, the present invention discloses a light string.

[0042] Referring to the first embodiment shown in Figures 1 to 4, it includes: a first substrate 10a, a second substrate 10b, and a third substrate 10c with three different circuits, and a light-emitting diode D1 is provided on the substrate. Referring to Figure 3, the material of the substrate can be a common PCB circuit board material, and the PCB circuit board material is provided with a copper layer. The user solders the anode and cathode of the light-emitting diode D1 to the PCB circuit board. Combined with Figure 3, it can be seen that the light-emitting diode D1 is arranged vertically relative to the substrate. The substrate is not limited to the PCB circuit board material, and can also be other non-conductive materials. The two poles of the light-emitting diode D1 are fixed on the non-conductive material. Referring to Figures 1 to 2, the light-emitting diode D1 can also be directly fixed to the substrate on the first substrate 10a through materials such as metal wires.

[0043] Continuing with reference to the first embodiment of Figures 1 to 4, for two adjacent substrates (for example: the first substrate 10a and the second substrate 10b, the second substrate 10b and the third substrate 10c, the third substrate 10c and the first substrate 10a of the next light string group), the fourth connection point of the previous substrate is connected to the first connection point of the next substrate through a first wire 10; the sixth connection point of the previous substrate is connected to the third connection point of the next substrate through a second wire 20; and the fifth connection point of the previous substrate is connected to the second connection point of the next substrate through a third wire 30.

[0044] The second connection points and the fifth connection points between the plurality of adjacent substrates are connected in series via a third wire 30 to form a light string group 40. The first connection point and the fourth connection point of the substrate form one electrode of the light string group 40 via a first wire 10; the third connection point and the sixth connection point of the substrate form another electrode of the light string group 40 via a second wire 20. Referring to the electrical schematics of Figures 1 and 2, and in particular to a group of light string groups 40 in the embodiment of Figure 2, a group of light string groups 40 includes a first substrate 10a, one or more second substrates 10b, and a third substrate 10c. The plurality of light-emitting diodes D1 can be provided individually on a single substrate, or one light-emitting diode D1 can be provided on a single substrate. As long as the light-emitting diodes D1 are connected via the third wire 30, the electrodes at both ends of the group of light string groups 40 are energized with direct current at both ends, thereby lighting up the group of light string groups 40. The material of the third wire 30 is selected from flexible conductive wires, flexible circuit boards, and the like for energizing.

[0045] As shown in the electrical schematic diagram of Figure 1, the electrodes at both ends of multiple light string groups 40 are respectively connected in parallel with the first power supply wire 10 and the second power supply wire 20 to form a light string structure. In the embodiment of Figure 1, it is shown that the first power supply wire 10 and the second power supply wire 20 can be energized by flexible conductive wires, flexible circuit boards and other materials. The wire corresponding to the first power supply wire 10 is connected to the positive pole of the power supply, and then the wire corresponding to the second power supply wire 20 is connected to the negative pole of the power supply for power.

[0046] The light string disclosed in the above invention allows users to cut the light string group at the back of the light string according to the actual length of use; and in the actual production process, the manufacturer can freely set the number of light-emitting diodes connected in series in the light string group to adapt to light strings with different power supply voltages; and the substrate cooperates to support the light-emitting diodes, so that the light-emitting diodes are not easily damaged by touching the light source body during use.

[0047] 2 , a first resistor R1 is also included. In the light string group 40 , the anode of the light-emitting diode D1 on the first substrate is connected in parallel with the first wire 10 , the cathode of the light-emitting diode D1 is connected in series with one end of the first resistor R1 , and the other end of the first resistor R1 is connected in series with the anode of the adjacent light-emitting diode D1 .

[0048] Continuing with Figure 2, a second resistor R2 is also included. In the light string group 40, the cathode of the light-emitting diode D1 on the second substrate is connected in parallel with the second wire 20, the anode of the light-emitting diode D1 is connected in series with one end of the second resistor R2, and the other end of the second resistor R2 is connected in series with the cathode of the adjacent light-emitting diode D1.

[0049] As shown in Figure 3, the first resistor R1 and the second resistor R2 can be soldered to the PCB circuit board using surface mount resistors. In a set of light strings, a constant voltage is applied to both ends of the first wire 10 and the second wire 20. The resistors are connected to the light strings to increase the resistance of the light strings and reduce the current flowing through the light strings. This reduces the current flowing through the PN junction of the light-emitting diode D1, reduces heat generation at the PN junction, prevents the light-emitting diode D1 from burning out, and effectively extends the service life of the light strings.

[0050] As shown in the first embodiment in Figure 3 , a first connection point 11a, a second connection point 12a, and a third connection point 13a are respectively provided on one side of the first substrate 10a, the second substrate 10b, and the third substrate 10c. As mentioned above, if the substrates are PCBs, the first connection point 11a, the second connection point 12a, and the third connection point 13a can be provided on the same side of the PCB using copper clad blocks.

[0051] Continuing with FIG3 , as shown in the first embodiment, a fourth connection point 14a, a fifth connection point 15a, and a sixth connection point 16a are respectively provided on the other sides of the first substrate 10a, the second substrate 10b, and the third substrate 10c. As noted above, if the substrates are PCBs, the first connection point 11a, the second connection point 12a, and the third connection point 13a can be arranged on the same side of the PCB using copper cladding. As noted above, if the substrates are PCBs, the fourth connection point 14a, the fifth connection point 15a, and the sixth connection point 16a can be arranged on the same side of the PCB using copper cladding.

[0052] In the light string assembly 40, the two electrodes of the light-emitting diode D1 on the first substrate 10a are connected to the first connection point 11a and the fifth connection point 15a, respectively. Specifically, as shown in FIG2 , the anode and cathode of each light-emitting diode D1 are connected to the first connection point 11a and the fifth connection point 15a, respectively. Similarly, the cathode of one electrode of the light-emitting diode D1 can also be connected in series with the first resistor R1 and the fourth connection point 14a. In conjunction with the embodiment of FIG3 , the light-emitting diode D1 can be soldered to the copper clad blocks corresponding to the first connection point 11a and the fifth connection point 15a via pins.

[0053] In the light string assembly 40, the two electrodes of the light-emitting diode D1 on the second substrate 10b are connected to the second connection point and the fifth connection point, respectively. Specifically, referring to FIG2 , the anode and cathode of the light-emitting diode D1 in this substrate are connected to the second connection point 12a and the fifth connection point 15a, respectively. In conjunction with the embodiment of FIG3 , the light-emitting diode D1 can be soldered to the copper clad blocks corresponding to the second connection point 12a and the fifth connection point 15a via pins.

[0054] In the light string assembly 40, the two electrodes of the light-emitting diode D1 on the third substrate 10c are connected to the second connection point 12a and the sixth connection point 16a, respectively. Specifically, as shown in FIG2 , the anode and cathode of the light-emitting diode D1 on this substrate are connected to the second connection point 12a and the sixth connection point 16a, respectively. Similarly, the anode of one electrode of the light-emitting diode D1 can also be connected in series with one end of the second resistor R2, and the other end of the second resistor R2 is connected to the second connection point 12a. In conjunction with the embodiment of FIG3 , the light-emitting diode D1 can be soldered to the copper clad blocks corresponding to the second connection point 12a and the sixth connection point 16a via pins.

[0055] In summary, in the parallel connection of the first wire 10 and the second wire 20 in multiple light string groups 40, the light emitting diodes D1 in the multiple light string groups 40 can be connected in parallel with the first wire 10 or the second wire 20 with a common anode or a common cathode respectively.

[0056] 2 in combination with FIG4 , the first connection point 11a is electrically connected to the fourth connection point 14a. As shown in FIG4 , in an embodiment of the first substrate 10a in which a PCB circuit board is used as the substrate, the first connection point 11a and the fourth connection point 14a can be electrically connected by welding a wire passing therethrough, or the first connection point 11a and the fourth connection point 14a can be electrically connected by directly connecting the two through a wire in other ways.

[0057] 2 in combination with FIG4 , the third connection point 13a is electrically connected to the sixth connection point 16a. As shown in FIG4 , in an embodiment in which a PCB circuit board serves as the first substrate 10a, the third connection point 13a and the sixth connection point 16a can be electrically connected by welding a wire passing therethrough, or the third connection point 13a and the sixth connection point 16a can be electrically connected by directly connecting the two through a wire in other ways.

[0058] 2 in combination with FIG4 , there is a short circuit between the second connection point 12a and the fifth connection point 15a. As shown in FIG4 , in an embodiment in which the PCB circuit board serves as the first substrate 10a, the second substrate 10b, and the third substrate 10c, the PCB circuit board itself is an insulating material, and the second connection point 12a and the fifth connection point 15a are separated by the PCB circuit board itself, resulting in a short circuit.

[0059] 4 , in two adjacent substrates, the fourth connection point of the preceding substrate and the first connection point of the following substrate are connected in parallel via a first conductive wire 10 .

[0060] 4 , in two adjacent substrates, the fifth connection point of the preceding substrate and the second connection point of the following substrate are connected in series via the third wire 30 .

[0061] 4 , in two adjacent substrates, the sixth connection point of the preceding substrate and the third connection point of the following substrate are connected in parallel via the second conductive wire 20 .

[0062] In the embodiment of FIG. 4 , the first wire 10 , the second wire 20 and the third wire 30 are all flexible wires. The three-wire system connects the first substrate 10 a and the light emitting diode D1 to form the light string.

[0063] Referring to Figures 5 to 8 , the present invention discloses a second embodiment of a light string. The substrates for the three different circuits are each packaged, including a first package 20a, a second package 20b, and a third package 20c. Each package is provided with a light-emitting diode (LED) D1. Referring to the embodiment of Figure 5 , LED D1 is encapsulated within the package. The package is provided with two electrodes for LED D1, including an anode and a cathode. In the light string group 40, the two electrodes of the light-emitting diode D1 are electrically connected to the following pins for packaging as follows: the two electrodes of the light-emitting diode D1 of the first package 20a are connected to the first pin 11b and the fifth pin 15b, respectively. Specifically, referring to FIG5 in conjunction with FIG6 , the anode and cathode of the light-emitting diode D1 of the package are connected to the first pin 11b and the fifth pin 15b, respectively.

[0065] The two electrodes of the light-emitting diode D1 of the second package 20b are connected to the second pin 12b and the fifth pin 15b, respectively. Specifically, referring to Figures 5 and 6 , the anode and cathode of the light-emitting diode D1 of this package are connected to the second pin 12b and the fifth pin 15b, respectively. Referring to the package shown in Figures 5 and 6 , the pin portion is the metal portion inside the package 10b, with six pins extending from either side of the package 10b.

[0066] The two electrodes of the LED D1 of the third package 20c are connected to the second pin 12b and the sixth pin 16b, respectively. Specifically, referring to FIG5 and FIG6 , the anode and cathode of the LED D1 of the package are connected to the second pin 12b and the sixth pin 16b, respectively.

[0067] 6, the first connection point 11b and the fourth connection point 14b of the first package 20a, the second package 20b, and the third package 20c are connected, the third connection point 13b and the sixth connection point 16b are connected, and the second connection point 12b and the fifth connection point 15b are disconnected.

[0068] As shown in Figure 7, the second connection point 12b and the fifth connection point 15b between multiple adjacent packages are connected in series through a third wire 30 to form a light string group 40, the first connection point 11b and the fourth connection point 14b of the package form one electrode of the light string group 40 through the first wire 10; the third connection point 13b and the sixth connection point 16b of the package form another electrode of the light string group 40 through the second wire 20.

[0069] Referring to the electrical schematics of Figures 1 and 2, especially a group of light string groups 40 in the embodiment of Figure 2, the light string group 40 can have multiple light-emitting diodes D1. Multiple light-emitting diodes D1 can be provided in a single package, or one light-emitting diode D1 can be provided in a corresponding package. As long as the light-emitting diodes D1 are connected through a third wire 30, the electrodes at both ends of this group of light string groups 40 are respectively energized with direct current at both ends, and the light string group 40 of this group can be lit. The material of the third wire 30 is selected from flexible conductive wires, flexible circuit boards, or even copper-clad circuits for powering.

[0070] As shown in the electrical schematic diagram of Figure 1, the electrodes at both ends of multiple light string groups 40 are respectively connected in parallel with the first power supply wire 10 and the second power supply wire 20 to form a light string structure.

[0071] In the light string disclosed in the second embodiment of the invention, users can cut the light string group behind the light string according to the actual length of use; and in the actual production process, the manufacturer can freely set the number of light-emitting diodes in series in the light string group to adapt to light strings with different power supply voltages; in the context of large-scale mechanized production of leather-line lamps, packaged light-emitting diodes are more conducive to large-scale production.

[0072] Referring to FIG. 2 in conjunction with FIG. 5 , a first resistor R1 is also included. In the light string assembly 40, the first resistor R1 is encapsulated within the first package 20a. The anode of one electrode of the light-emitting diode D1 within the first package is connected in parallel with the first wire 10, the cathode of the other electrode of the light-emitting diode D1 is connected in series with one end of the first resistor R1, and the other end of the first resistor R1 is connected in series with the anode of an adjacent light-emitting diode D1. Of course, the first resistor R1 can also be connected in series between two other light-emitting diodes D1, or between the first wire 10 and the first light-emitting diode D1, or in other locations.

[0073] Referring to FIG2 in conjunction with FIG5 , a second resistor R2 is also included. In the light string group 40, the second resistor R2 is encapsulated in a third package 20c. The cathode of one electrode of the light-emitting diode D1 in the second package is connected in parallel with the second wire 20, the anode of the other electrode of the light-emitting diode D1 is connected in series with one end of the second resistor R2, and the other end of the second resistor R2 is connected in series with the cathode of the adjacent light-emitting diode D1. Of course, the second resistor R2 can also be connected in series between other two light-emitting diodes D1 or between the second wire 20 and the last light-emitting diode D1.

[0074] As shown in FIG3 , a first resistor R1 and a second resistor R2 can be encapsulated in a package. In a light string group, a constant voltage is applied to both ends of the first wire 10 and the second wire 20. A resistor is connected to the light string group to increase the resistance of the light string group and reduce the current flowing through the light string group. This reduces the current flowing through the PN junction of the light-emitting diode D1, reduces heat generation at the PN junction, prevents burnout of the light-emitting diode D1, and effectively extends the life of the light string.

[0075] In summary, in the parallel connection of multiple light string groups 40 with the first wire 10 and the second wire 20, the light emitting diodes D1 in the multiple light string groups 40 can be connected in parallel with the first wire 10 or the second wire 20 with a common anode or a common cathode respectively.

[0076] 2 in combination with FIG5 to 6 , the first pin 11 b of the package is electrically connected to the fourth pin 14 b, and the third pin 13 b of the package is electrically connected to the sixth pin 16 b. Referring to FIG5 to 6 , in the second embodiment, the first pin 11 b and the fourth pin 14 b can be welded together by passing a wire to provide electricity, or the first connection point 11 a and the fourth connection point 14 a can be directly connected to each other by a wire in other ways to provide electricity. FIG6 shows that the first connection point 11 a and the fourth connection point 14 a are connected by a metal wire.

[0077] 2 in combination with FIG5 to 6, the second pin 12b and the fifth pin 15b of the package are disconnected. Referring to FIG5 to 6, in the second embodiment of the package, the second pin 12b and the fifth pin 15b are disconnected, which is directly in the disconnected state.

[0078] As can be seen, the internal structure of all packages is the same. The first, last, and middle LED units in the light string are distinguished. By encapsulating the LEDs or the first and second resistors, the packaged LED units of the present invention are obtained. The universal package allows for more flexible production management.

[0079] 7 and 8 , in two adjacent packages, the fourth lead 14 b of the preceding package is connected to the first lead 11 b of the following package via a first wire 10 .

[0080] 7 and 8 , in two adjacent packages, the fifth lead 15 b of the preceding package is connected to the second lead 12 b of the following package via a third wire 30 .

[0081] 7 and 8 , the sixth lead 16 b of the previous package is connected to the third lead 13 b of the next package via a second wire 20 .

[0082] In some embodiments, the first wire 10 , the second wire 20 , and the third wire 30 are all wires, and the first wire 10 , the second wire 20 , the third wire 30 and the bottom of the package are all covered with an insulating outer covering to form an integrated light string.

[0083] In some embodiments, the LED D1 includes multi-color LEDs and single-color LEDs.
