Abstract
Description
Pixel arrangement structure, display panel and display device Technical Field
[0001] Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a pixel arrangement structure, a display panel, and a display device. Background Art
[0002] Organic Light Emitting Diode (OLED) display devices are actively emitting light and are one of the hot topics in the field of flat panel display research. Compared with liquid crystal displays (LCDs), OLED display devices have the advantages of low energy consumption, low production cost, self-luminescence, wide viewing angle and fast response speed. Currently, in the field of flat panel displays such as mobile phones, tablet computers and digital cameras, OLED display devices have begun to replace traditional liquid crystal displays (LCDs).
[0003] OLED is formed by a glass substrate and a thinner organic material film layer arranged on the glass substrate. When current passes through, the organic material will emit light. Therefore, the OLED display panel can greatly save electricity and can be made thinner and lighter.

[0040] Currently, to save production costs, most automakers use liquid crystal displays for display devices such as instrument clusters and central control systems. Organic Light Emitting Diode (OLED) displays, due to their advantages such as low energy consumption, low production costs, self-luminescence, wide viewing angles, and fast response times, have sparked a strong interest in OLED products among automakers. The use of OLED displays in automotive instrument clusters, central control systems, and passenger-side displays holds great market potential.
[0041] Compared to the traditional combination structure of a liquid crystal display (LCD) and a liquid crystal display lifting component (LCF), the design of using OLED display devices as a replacement for LCDs in automotive products can solve the problems of moiré patterns and insufficient display brightness when displaying images. However, the use of OLED as an automotive display device still has the following problems that need to be improved: Considering the particularity of automotive products, the pixel structure adopts a true RGB ternary pixel design, which will greatly affect the dark state display effect. Therefore, there is an urgent need for a pixel arrangement structure design that can solve the above-mentioned problems of OLED devices in automotive products. In addition, with the rapid development of display technology, consumers have increasingly higher requirements for the resolution of display screens. The current pixel arrangement method with high resolution is sub-pixel rendering (SPR). For example, adjacent pixel units will share at least one of the red sub-pixel R and the blue sub-pixel B.
[0042] The inventors of the present disclosure noted that a pixel arrangement structure can be designed so that the two second sub-pixels and two third sub-pixels included in the second display unit of a pixel group of the pixel arrangement structure are shared with the four adjacent pixel groups respectively. By borrowing the second sub-pixels and third sub-pixels in the adjacent pixel groups, the impact of the central color separation bright spots on the human eye can be reduced. When the display panel with this pixel arrangement structure is used in a vehicle-mounted system, the ambient light will not affect the driver's vision during the dark display process, thereby improving driving safety.
[0043] At least one embodiment of the present disclosure provides a pixel arrangement structure, which includes: a plurality of pixel groups arranged in an array, each pixel group including a first display unit and a second display unit, the first display unit and the second display unit both including a first sub-pixel, a second sub-pixel and a third sub-pixel emitting light of different colors; the first display unit includes a first sub-pixel, a second sub-pixel and a third sub-pixel, the second display unit includes a first sub-pixel and two second sub-pixels and two third sub-pixels arranged around the first sub-pixel, and the first display unit and the second display unit share a first sub-pixel, a second sub-pixel in the first display unit is one of the two second sub-pixels in the second display unit, and a third sub-pixel in the first display unit is one of the two third sub-pixels in the second display unit; the two second sub-pixels and two third sub-pixels included in the second display unit in a pixel group are respectively shared with the four adjacent pixel groups. This pixel arrangement structure allows a pixel group to include a total of five sub-pixels. Each pixel group includes a first display unit and a second display unit. The three sub-pixels of three colors included in the first display unit are shared with three of the five sub-pixels included in the second display unit, thereby reducing the number of sub-pixels. Furthermore, the first image display or the second image display can be displayed under different drive circuits. Thus, the sub-pixels in a pixel group achieve a high-resolution display effect from a low-resolution physical resolution through the principle of color borrowing, thus solving the technical problem of limited pixel resolution. Furthermore, the two second sub-pixels and two third sub-pixels included in the second display unit in a pixel group are shared with the four adjacent pixel groups, further reducing the number of sub-pixels. This simplifies the structure of each pixel group and the structural design of the entire display panel.
[0044] For example, when this pixel arrangement structure is used in the display area of a display product in the automotive field, the influence of the central color separation bright spot on the human eye can be reduced by borrowing sub-pixels, and the ambient light will not affect the driver's vision during the dark display process.
[0045] For example, FIG1 is a schematic planar structural diagram of a pixel arrangement structure provided in at least one embodiment of the present disclosure. As shown in FIG1 , the pixel arrangement structure 100 includes: a plurality of pixel groups 101 arranged in an array, each pixel group 101 including a first display unit 102 and a second display unit 103. That is, each pixel group 101 is a repeating unit, and the plurality of repeating units are arranged in an array along a first direction X and a second direction Y that intersect with each other. As shown in FIG1 , the first direction X and the second direction Y intersect but are not perpendicular to each other, and the angle between the first direction X and the second direction Y is an obtuse angle.
[0046] For example, FIG2 is a schematic diagram of the planar structure of a first display unit provided in at least one embodiment of the present disclosure, and FIG3 is a schematic diagram of the planar structure of a second display unit provided in at least one embodiment of the present disclosure. As shown in FIG2 and FIG3, the first display unit 102 and the second display unit 103 both include a first sub-pixel 104, a second sub-pixel 105, and a third sub-pixel 106 that emit light of different colors, except that the number and arrangement of the sub-pixels in the first display unit 102 and the second display unit 103 are different. The first display unit 102 includes a first sub-pixel 104, a second sub-pixel 105, and a third sub-pixel 106, and the second display unit 103 includes a first sub-pixel 104 and two second sub-pixels 105 and two third sub-pixels 106 arranged around the first sub-pixel 104. The first display unit 102 and the second display unit 103 share a first sub-pixel 104, and a second sub-pixel 105 in the first display unit 102 is one of the two second sub-pixels 105 in the second display unit 103. The first display unit 102 One of the third sub-pixels 106 is one of the two third sub-pixels 106 in the second display unit 103, that is, each pixel group 101 includes 5 sub-pixels, the second display unit 103 includes 5 sub-pixels from one pixel group 101, the first display unit 102 located in the same pixel group 101 as the second display unit 103 includes 3 sub-pixels from one pixel group 101, and the two second sub-pixels 105 and the two third sub-pixels 106 included in the second display unit 103 in one pixel group 101 are shared with the four adjacent pixel groups 101 respectively.
[0047] For example, in one example, the first sub-pixel 104, the second sub-pixel 105 and the third sub-pixel 106 can be a blue sub-pixel B, a green sub-pixel G and a red sub-pixel R, respectively, that is, the first display unit 102 includes a blue sub-pixel B, a green sub-pixel G and a red sub-pixel R, and the second display unit 103 includes a blue sub-pixel B and two green sub-pixels G and two red sub-pixels R arranged around the blue sub-pixel B. Of course, the embodiments of the present disclosure are not limited to this. The first sub-pixel 104, the second sub-pixel 105 and the third sub-pixel 106 may be a green sub-pixel G, a blue sub-pixel B and a red sub-pixel R, respectively, that is, the first display unit 102 includes a green sub-pixel G, a blue sub-pixel B and a red sub-pixel R, and the second display unit 103 includes a green sub-pixel G and two blue sub-pixels B and two red sub-pixels R arranged around the one green sub-pixel G; it may also be that the first sub-pixel 104, the second sub-pixel 105 and the third sub-pixel 106 are a red sub-pixel R, a green sub-pixel G and a blue sub-pixel B, respectively, that is, the first display unit 102 includes a red sub-pixel R, a green sub-pixel G, and a blue sub-pixel B, and the second display unit 103 includes a red sub-pixel R and two blue sub-pixels B and two green sub-pixels G arranged around the one red sub-pixel R.
[0048] For example, as shown in Figures 2 and 3, the area of each first sub-pixel 104 is larger than the area of each second sub-pixel 105, and larger than the area of each third sub-pixel 106. Since the blue sub-pixel B has the lowest luminous brightness, in order to ensure the uniformity of the white light displayed by the final display panel, it is usually necessary to define the first sub-pixel 104 with the largest area as the blue sub-pixel B, and one of the second sub-pixel 105 and the third sub-pixel 106 with smaller areas as the red sub-pixel R, and the other as the green sub-pixel G.
[0049] For example, as shown in FIG2 , a first display unit 102 is shown in a plane formed by a horizontal direction and a direction perpendicular to the horizontal plane. The third sub-pixel 106 is located on the horizontal plane, the plane on which the first sub-pixel 104 is located is perpendicular to the horizontal plane, and the plane on which the second sub-pixel 105 is located is perpendicular to the horizontal plane. The first sub-pixel 104, the second sub-pixel 105, and the third sub-pixel 106 included in the first display unit 102 are half-rectangular parallelepiped structures. The planes on which the first sub-pixel 104, the second sub-pixel 105, and the third sub-pixel 106 intersect at a point. The plane on which the first sub-pixel 104 and the plane on which the second sub-pixel 105 are located share an edge, the plane on which the second sub-pixel 105 and the plane on which the third sub-pixel 106 are located share an edge, and the plane on which the first sub-pixel 104 and the plane on which the third sub-pixel 106 are located also share an edge. However, the embodiments of the present disclosure are not limited to this.
[0050] It should be noted that although a box is set around the first sub-pixel 104, the second sub-pixel 105, and the third sub-pixel 106 in Figures 1, 2, and 3, these boxes are actually virtual boxes to more clearly illustrate the relationship between the sub-pixels. For example, the plane where the first sub-pixel 104 is located and the plane where the second sub-pixel 105 is located share a side that is shared by the box surrounding the first sub-pixel 104 and the box surrounding the second sub-pixel 105. The plane where the second sub-pixel 105 is located and the plane where the third sub-pixel 106 is located share a side that is shared by the box surrounding the second sub-pixel 105 and the box surrounding the third sub-pixel 106. The plane where the first sub-pixel 104 is located and the plane where the third sub-pixel 106 is located share a side that is shared by the box surrounding the first sub-pixel 104 and the box surrounding the third sub-pixel 106.
[0051] For example, when the pixel driving circuit drives the first display unit 102 to display, a first sub-pixel 104, a second sub-pixel 105 and a third sub-pixel 106 constitute a pixel point, and perform conventional R, G, and B primary color display.
[0052] For example, the second display unit 103 employs a Pentile display. Pentile display uses adjacent pixels to share subpixels, reducing the number of subpixels. This achieves the effect of simulating high resolution with low resolution, thereby achieving a higher visual brightness for viewers at the same brightness. Furthermore, this pixel arrangement reduces the cost of manufacturing the display panel. When the pixel driver circuit drives the second display unit 103 to display, a pixel in the Pentile display "borrows" the color of another adjacent pixel to form the three primary colors. The Pentile arrangement emerged with the advent of OLED display materials. For actively emitting OLED displays, the RGB colors of the OLED correspond to organic materials that emit red, green, and blue light, respectively. Current displays have high resolution requirements, which requires each luminescent material to be very small and densely integrated. This is complex in terms of manufacturing and has high production costs. By using a Pentile arrangement, where adjacent display units use subpixel borrowing, the area of the light-emitting layer of each subpixel can be increased, thereby reducing manufacturing complexity and production costs. Furthermore, the Pentile display has a higher pixel density, so it can better display high-resolution images and colorful graphics, and can also display images clearly under direct sunlight.
[0053] For example, FIG4 is a schematic diagram of a planar structure of another first display unit provided by at least one embodiment of the present disclosure. As shown in FIG4 , the first display unit 102 is shown in a plane formed by a horizontal direction and a direction perpendicular to the horizontal plane. The third sub-pixel 106 is located on the horizontal plane, the plane where the first sub-pixel 104 is located is perpendicular to the horizontal plane, and the plane where the second sub-pixel 105 is located is perpendicular to the horizontal plane. The plane where the first sub-pixel 104, the plane where the second sub-pixel 105 is located, and the plane where the third sub-pixel 106 is located intersect at a point. The plane where the first sub-pixel 104 and the plane where the second sub-pixel 105 are located share an edge, and the plane where the first sub-pixel 104 and the plane where the third sub-pixel 106 are located also share an edge. However, the plane where the second sub-pixel 105 and the plane where the third sub-pixel 106 are located do not share an edge. However, the embodiments of the present disclosure are not limited to this.
[0054] For example, FIG. 5 shows the connection structure of the geometric centers of the first sub-pixel, the second sub-pixel, and the third sub-pixel included in the first display unit in FIG. 2. As shown in FIG. 5, the triangle ABC formed by connecting the geometric center A of one first sub-pixel 104, the geometric center B of one second sub-pixel 105, and the geometric center C of one third sub-pixel 106 included in the first display unit 102 is an acute triangle. For example, <ABC, <ACB, and <BAC in this acute triangle are all acute angles, that is, all less than 90o. This kind of setting can make the structure of the first display unit 102 more compact, making the display screen more uniform when the finally formed first display unit 102 performs display.
[0055] For example, as shown in FIG. 5, in a first display unit 102, there is a first pitch L1 between the first sub-pixel 104 and the second sub-pixel 105, a second pitch L2 between the second sub-pixel 105 and the third sub-pixel 106, and a third pitch L3 between the first sub-pixel 104 and the third sub-pixel 106. The first pitch L1, the second pitch L2, and the third pitch L3 are all equal. This can make the distances between any two of the first sub-pixel 104, the second sub-pixel 105, and the third sub-pixel 106 equal, and can further ensure the uniformity of the display screen when the first display unit 102 performs display.
[0056] For example, FIG. 6 shows the connection structure of the geometric centers of one first sub-pixel, two second sub-pixels, and two third sub-pixels included in the second display unit in FIG. 3. As shown in FIG. 6, the quadrilateral formed by connecting the geometric centers M, N of the two second sub-pixels 105 and the geometric centers P, Q of the two third sub-pixels 106 included in the second display unit 103 is a parallelogram MNPQ, and the geometric center K of one first sub-pixel 104 included in the second display unit 103 coincides with the intersection of the two diagonals MN and PQ of the parallelogram MNPQ. This kind of structural design makes the structure of one first sub-pixel, two second sub-pixels, and two third sub-pixels included in the second sub-pixel 105 more compact, so that the display screen when the finally formed second display unit 103 performs display is more uniform, and it can make the pixel arrangement structure use as few sub-pixels as possible to achieve two different display modes.
[0057] For example, as shown in FIG. 6, in the second display unit 103, there is a fourth pitch L4 between the first sub-pixel 104 and any second sub-pixel 105, a fifth pitch L5 between the second sub-pixel 105 and the adjacent third sub-pixel 106, and a sixth pitch L6 between the first sub-pixel 104 and any third sub-pixel 106. The fourth pitch L4, the fifth pitch L5, and the sixth pitch L6 are all equal. This kind of design can make the display screen of the second display unit 103 more uniform when displaying images.
[0058] For example, in one example, in a pixel group 101, the two second sub-pixels 105 included in the second display unit 103 have equal areas and the same shapes, and the two second sub-pixels 105 are arranged opposite to each other on both sides of the first sub-pixel 104. For example, one of the two second sub-pixels 105 is on the left side of the first sub-pixel 104, and the other is on the right side of the first sub-pixel 104. The minimum distance between the second sub-pixel 105 located on the left side of the first sub-pixel 104 and the first sub-pixel 104 is equal to the minimum distance between the second sub-pixel 105 located on the right side of the first sub-pixel 104 and the first sub-pixel 104. The two third sub-pixels 106 have equal areas and the same shape, and the two third sub-pixels 106 are arranged opposite to each other on both sides of the first sub-pixel 104. For example, one of the two third sub-pixels 106 is on the upper side of the first sub-pixel 104, and the other is on the lower side of the first sub-pixel 104. The minimum distance between the third sub-pixel 106 located on the upper side of the first sub-pixel 104 and the first sub-pixel 104 is equal to the minimum distance between the third sub-pixel 106 located on the lower side of the first sub-pixel 104 and the first sub-pixel 104.
[0059] For example, in the structure shown in FIG6 , the first subpixel 104 is a blue subpixel B, the second subpixel 105 is one of a red subpixel R and a green subpixel B, and the third subpixel 106 is the other of a red subpixel R and a green subpixel G. For example, the first subpixel 104 is a blue subpixel B, the second subpixel 105 is a red subpixel R, and the third subpixel 106 is a green subpixel G. In the pixel group shown in FIG6 , the second subpixel 105 located to the left of the first subpixel 104 is shared with the adjacent pixel group located to the left of the pixel group. The second subpixel 105 located to the right of the first subpixel 104 is shared with the adjacent pixel group located to the right of the pixel group. The third subpixel 106 located above the first subpixel 104 in the pixel group shown in FIG6 is shared with the adjacent pixel group located above the pixel group. The third subpixel 105 located below the first subpixel 104 in the pixel group shown in FIG6 is shared with the adjacent pixel group located below the pixel group.
[0060] For example, in combination with Figures 1 and 6, multiple pixel groups 101 are arranged in an array in a first direction X and a second direction Y, the first direction X and the second direction Y intersect and are not perpendicular, and the geometric centers K of the multiple second display units 103 are arranged in an array in the first direction X and the second direction Y.
[0061] For example, in the structure shown in Figure 6, the planar shape of the first sub-pixel 104 is a rectangle, the planar shapes of the two second sub-pixels 105 and the two third sub-pixels 106 are all parallelograms, the area of the first sub-pixel 104 is larger than the area of any second sub-pixel 105, and the area of the first sub-pixel 104 is larger than the area of any third sub-pixel 106, and the shape of the arrangement structure of the five sub-pixels forming the second display unit is an irregular hexagon.
[0062] For example, Figure 7 is a schematic diagram of the planar structure of another second display unit provided by at least one embodiment of the present disclosure. As shown in Figure 7, the planar shape of the first sub-pixel 104, the planar shape of the second sub-pixel 105, and the planar shape of the third sub-pixel 106 are all rectangular. The two second sub-pixels 105 included in the second display unit 103 are equal in area and have the same shape, and are arranged opposite to each other on both sides of the first sub-pixel 104. For example, one of the two second sub-pixels 105 is on the left side of the first sub-pixel 104, and the other is on the right side of the first sub-pixel 104. The minimum distance between the second sub-pixel 105 on the left and the first sub-pixel 104 is equal to the minimum distance between the second sub-pixel 105 on the right and the first sub-pixel 104. The two third sub-pixels 106 have equal areas and identical shapes and are arranged in pairs on either side of the first sub-pixel 104. For example, one of the two third sub-pixels 106 is located above the first sub-pixel 104, and the other is located below the first sub-pixel 104. The minimum distance between the third sub-pixel 106 located above and the first sub-pixel 104 is equal to the minimum distance between the third sub-pixel 106 located below and the first sub-pixel 104. The long side of the first sub-pixel 104 is longer than the long side of the third sub-pixel 106, and the long side of the third sub-pixel 106 is longer than the long side of the second sub-pixel 105. The short side of the first sub-pixel 104 is longer than the short side of the second sub-pixel 105, and the short side of the second sub-pixel 105 is longer than the short side of the third sub-pixel 106. As can be seen in FIG. 7 , the area of the first sub-pixel 104 is larger than the area of each of the third sub-pixels 106, and the area of each of the third sub-pixels 106 is larger than the area of each of the second sub-pixels 105. In Figure 7, there is a fourth spacing L4 between the first sub-pixel 104 and any second sub-pixel 105, a fifth spacing L5 between the second sub-pixel 105 and the adjacent third sub-pixel 106, and a sixth spacing L6 between the first sub-pixel 104 and any third sub-pixel 106. The fourth spacing L4, the fifth spacing L5 and the sixth spacing L6 are all equal. This design can make the picture displayed by the second display unit 103 more uniform when displaying.
[0063] For example, FIG8 is a schematic diagram of a planar structure of another second display unit provided in at least one embodiment of the present disclosure. As shown in FIG8 , the planar shape of the first sub-pixel 104 is a rhombus, the planar shapes of the second sub-pixel 105 and the planar shapes of the third sub-pixel 106 are both parallelograms, and the maximum distance between the opposing sides of the first sub-pixel 104 is greater than the maximum distance between the opposing sides of the second sub-pixel 105, and the maximum distance between the opposing sides of the second sub-pixel 105 is greater than the maximum distance between the opposing sides of the third sub-pixel 106. As can also be seen from FIG8 , the area of the first sub-pixel 104 is greater than the area of each of the third sub-pixels 106, and the area of each of the third sub-pixels 106 is greater than the area of each of the second sub-pixels 105. In Figure 8, there is a fourth spacing L4 between the first sub-pixel 104 and any second sub-pixel 105, a fifth spacing L5 between the second sub-pixel 105 and the adjacent third sub-pixel 106, and a sixth spacing L6 between the first sub-pixel 104 and any third sub-pixel 106. The fourth spacing L4, the fifth spacing L5 and the sixth spacing L6 are all equal. This design can make the picture displayed by the second display unit 103 more uniform when displaying.
[0064] For example, in the pixel arrangement structure provided in at least one embodiment of the present disclosure, the planar shapes of the first sub-pixel 104, the second sub-pixel 105 and the third sub-pixel 106 may all include arc-shaped portions, which make the edges of the pixel openings smoother, thereby reducing the jagged effect of the displayed image.
[0065] For example, FIG9 is a schematic diagram of a planar structure of another second display unit provided by at least one embodiment of the present disclosure. As shown in FIG9, the planar shapes of a first sub-pixel 104, two second sub-pixels 105, and two third sub-pixels 106 are all elliptical, and the short diameter of the ellipse corresponding to the first sub-pixel 104 is greater than the short diameter of the ellipse corresponding to the second sub-pixel 105 and the short diameter of the ellipse corresponding to the third sub-pixel 106, and the short diameter of the ellipse corresponding to the second sub-pixel 105 is greater than or equal to the short diameter of the ellipse corresponding to the third sub-pixel 106; the long diameter of the ellipse corresponding to the first sub-pixel 104 is greater than or equal to the long diameter of the ellipse corresponding to the third sub-pixel 106, and the long diameter of the ellipse corresponding to the third sub-pixel 106 is greater than the long diameter of the ellipse corresponding to the second sub-pixel 105. Setting the planar shapes of the first sub-pixel 104, the two second sub-pixels 105, and the two third sub-pixels 106 to be elliptical can make the edges of each pixel opening smoother, thereby reducing the jaggedness of the displayed image. As can also be seen from FIG9 , the area of the first sub-pixel 104 is larger than the area of each third sub-pixel 106, and the area of each third sub-pixel 106 is larger than the area of each second sub-pixel 105. Furthermore, in FIG9 , a fourth spacing L4 is present between the first sub-pixel 104 and any second sub-pixel 105, a fifth spacing L5 is present between the second sub-pixel 105 and its adjacent third sub-pixel 106, and a sixth spacing L6 is present between the first sub-pixel 104 and any third sub-pixel 106. The fourth spacing L4, the fifth spacing L5, and the sixth spacing L6 are all equal. This design allows the second display unit 103 to display a more uniform image.
[0066] For example, FIG10 is a schematic diagram of a planar structure of another second display unit provided by at least one embodiment of the present disclosure. As shown in FIG10 , the planar shapes of a first sub-pixel 104, two second sub-pixels 105, and two third sub-pixels 106 are all circular. The diameter of the circle corresponding to the first sub-pixel 104 is larger than the diameter of the circle corresponding to the second sub-pixel 105, and the diameter of the circle corresponding to the second sub-pixel 105 is larger than the diameter of the circle corresponding to the third sub-pixel 106. In other words, the area of the first sub-pixel 104 is larger than the area of the second sub-pixel 105, and the area of the second sub-pixel 105 is larger than the area of the third sub-pixel 106. As shown in FIG10 , a fourth spacing L4 is defined between the first sub-pixel 104 and any second sub-pixel 105, and a fifth spacing L5 is defined between the second sub-pixel 105 and the adjacent third sub-pixel 106. Any two of the fourth spacing L4, the fifth spacing L5, and the sixth spacing L6 are not equal.
[0067] For example, in the embodiment shown in FIG. 10 , a sixth distance L6 is present between the first sub-pixel 104 and any third sub-pixel 106 , the fifth distance L5 is greater than the fourth distance L4 , and the fourth distance L4 is greater than the sixth distance L6 .
[0068] Of course, the embodiments of the present disclosure are not limited thereto. In the structure shown in FIG. 10 , any two of the fourth interval L4 , the fifth interval L5 , and the sixth interval L6 may also be equal.
[0069] It should be noted that, in the embodiment of the present disclosure, the embodiment in which the planar shapes of the first sub-pixel 104, the second sub-pixel 105 and the third sub-pixel 106 all include arc-shaped parts is not limited to the embodiments shown in Figures 9 and 10 above. As long as the planar shapes of the first sub-pixel 104, the second sub-pixel 105 and the third sub-pixel 106 all include arc-shaped parts, for example, the planar shapes of the first sub-pixel 104, the second sub-pixel 105 and the third sub-pixel 106 all include fan-shaped parts, bow-shaped parts or semicircular parts, etc.
[0070] For example, in the embodiments shown in Figures 6 to 10, the geometric centers M and N of the two second sub-pixels 105 included in the second display unit 103 and the geometric centers P and Q of the two third sub-pixels 106 form a quadrilateral MNPQ, and the geometric center K of a first sub-pixel 104 included in the second display unit 103 coincide with the intersection of the two diagonals MN and PQ of the parallelogram MNPQ.
[0071] For example, in the embodiments shown in Figures 6 to 10, the second display unit 103 includes a first sub-pixel 104, two second sub-pixels 105, and two third sub-pixels 106 located in a special-shaped hexagon. For example, Figure 11 is a schematic diagram of the structure of a special-shaped hexagon in at least one embodiment of the present disclosure. The special-shaped hexagon is shown in Figure 11, and two adjacent sides in the special-shaped hexagon are perpendicular to each other. For example, setting the outer contour of each pixel group to a special-shaped hexagon can make the overall structure of the pixel group uniform, and at the same time, the three primary colors of red, green, and blue can be more evenly distributed, so that the display effect is stable.
[0072] At least one embodiment of the present disclosure further provides a display panel. FIG12 is a schematic planar structural diagram of a display panel provided by at least one embodiment of the present disclosure. As shown in FIG12 , the display panel 200 includes a display area 201 and a non-display area 202. The display area 201 is provided with a plurality of pixel openings 203, and the plurality of pixel openings 203 have a pixel arrangement structure 100 as described in any of the above embodiments. Peripheral wiring is provided in the non-display area 202. The display panel 200 can achieve high resolution and high display PPI by sharing sub-pixels in one pixel group with sub-pixels in an adjacent pixel group. When a pixel group having this pixel arrangement structure is applied to a display panel, the edge display of the display panel is more uniform and has less jaggedness. Furthermore, when driven by different driving circuits, display can be achieved through the first display unit and the second display unit, respectively.
[0073] At least one embodiment of the present disclosure further provides a display device. For example, FIG13 is a block diagram of a display device provided by at least one embodiment of the present disclosure. As shown in FIG13 , the display device 300 includes a display panel 200 in any of the above embodiments and a driving circuit 400 for providing a driving signal to the display panel 200. The display device can be any product or component with a display function, such as a mobile phone, a tablet computer, a television, a monitor, a laptop computer, a digital photo frame, a navigator, or the like.
[0074] The pixel arrangement structure, display panel, and display device provided by at least one embodiment of the present disclosure have at least one of the following beneficial technical effects:
[0075] (1) In at least one embodiment of the present disclosure, a pixel arrangement structure is provided, wherein two second sub-pixels and two third sub-pixels included in a second display unit of a pixel group are shared with four adjacent pixel groups respectively. By borrowing the second sub-pixels and third sub-pixels in adjacent pixel groups, the influence of the central color separation bright spot on the human eye can be reduced. When a display panel having this pixel arrangement structure is used in a vehicle-mounted system, the ambient light will not affect the driver's vision during dark display.
[0076] (2) In at least one embodiment of the present disclosure, the pixel arrangement structure provided by the first display unit includes three sub-pixels of three colors and three of the five sub-pixels included in the second display unit, thereby reducing the number of sub-pixels and enabling the first image display or the second image display to be performed under the drive of different drive circuits. Thus, the sub-pixels in a pixel group achieve a high-resolution display effect from a low-resolution physical resolution through the principle of color borrowing, thereby resolving the technical problem of limited pixel resolution.
[0077] There are a few points to note:
[0078] (1) The drawings of the embodiments of the present disclosure only relate to the structures related to the embodiments of the present disclosure. Other structures may refer to conventional designs.
[0079] (2) For the sake of clarity, in the drawings used to describe the embodiments of the present disclosure, the thickness of layers or regions is exaggerated or reduced, that is, these drawings are not drawn according to the actual scale.
[0080] (3) In the absence of conflict, the embodiments of the present disclosure and the features therein may be combined with each other to form new embodiments.
[0081] The above description is only a specific embodiment of the present disclosure, but the protection scope of the present disclosure is not limited thereto. The protection scope of the present disclosure shall be based on the protection scope of the claims.
