Abstract
Description
Wind power fence
[0001] The present disclosure relates to wind powered fences.
[0002] Greenhouse gas emissions from the use of fossil fuels cause global warming. In recent years, power generation using natural energy sources has been attracting attention. Power generation using solar and wind power emits almost no greenhouse gases, making it possible to mitigate global warming. Furthermore, natural energy is a sustainable source and is necessary to realize a sustainable world.
[0003] Wind power generation facilities are installed on coasts or offshore where wind power is strong, generating large amounts of electricity (Non-Patent Document 1). In addition to offshore wind power generation using large propellers, there are also vertical wind power generation systems (Non-Patent Document 2).
[0004] Solar power generation systems are often used for natural energy generation at home (Non-Patent Document 3).

[0006] The penetration rate of solar power generation in homes remains at around 3% (Non-Patent Document 4). Solar power generation requires dedicated equipment. In apartment complexes, it is difficult for each household to install solar power generation equipment. In order to promote renewable energy generation at the residential level, the cost of power generation equipment and securing space are issues.
[0007] Although small wind power generators exist (Non-Patent Document 5), they require dedicated facilities for power generation, and the issues of cost and space cannot be resolved.Non-Patent Document 6 conducts wind tunnel experiments to examine the windbreak performance when a cross-flow wind turbine is installed on top of a windbreak fence.
[0008] The present disclosure has been made in consideration of the above, and aims to realize widespread use of wind power generation at the residential level.
[0009] A wind power fence according to one embodiment of the present disclosure includes a wind power generator having vertically long blades whose wind-receiving surface is arranged along the central axis of the generator, and multiple wind power generators are arranged side by side with their central axes upright.
[0010] According to the present disclosure, it is possible to realize widespread use of wind power generation at the residential level.
[0011] Fig. 1 is a diagram showing an example of the configuration of a wind power generation fence according to this embodiment. Fig. 2 is a diagram showing an example of the configuration of a vertically long blade wind power generation device.
[0012] Hereinafter, embodiments of the present disclosure will be described with reference to the drawings.
[0013] An example of the configuration of a wind power generation fence of this embodiment will be described with reference to Fig. 1. The wind power generation fence 1 of this embodiment is a fence, which is a residential facility, equipped with a wind power generator.
[0014] The wind power fence 1 includes a plurality of vertically long-blade wind turbines 10 arranged in a horizontal row at equal intervals within a frame 50. The vertically long-blade wind turbines 10 generate electricity using wind force. The vertically long-blade wind turbines 10 have vertically long blades whose wind-receiving surfaces are arranged along a central axis, and are arranged in a horizontal row with the central axis standing. When the vertically long-blade wind turbines 10 receive wind, the central axis rotates to generate electricity. The configuration of the vertically long-blade wind turbines 10 will be described later. The wind power fence 1 in FIG. 1 includes 12 vertically long-blade wind turbines 10, but the number is not limited to this. The vertically long-blade wind turbines 10 may also be arranged in two or more rows. For example, a plurality of vertically long-blade wind turbines 10 may be arranged alternately in two rows.
[0015] If the vertically long blade wind power generation device 10 itself does not have the strength and durability, it is advisable to provide the frame 50 with the strength and durability to ensure that the fence functions as a physical barrier to protect against unauthorized entry and danger.
[0016] Members such as poles and boards may be placed between the vertically long-blade wind turbines 10. By placing poles between the vertically long-blade wind turbines 10, the function of the fence as a physical barrier can be reinforced. Also, by placing boards between the vertically long-blade wind turbines 10, visual interference from the outside can be reduced and the function of the fence to protect privacy can be reinforced.
[0017] The front and back of the wind power fence 1 may be provided with a member such as wire mesh to protect the vertically long-blade wind power generation device 10. This reduces the risk of an object blown by the wind colliding with the vertically long-blade wind power generation device 10 and damaging the device 10. To facilitate maintenance of the vertically long-blade wind power generation device 10, wire mesh may be provided only on the front.
[0018] Each of the vertically long-blade wind turbines 10 is electrically connected in parallel to a storage battery 30. The storage battery 30 stores the electrical energy generated by each of the vertically long-blade wind turbines 10. The electric wires connecting the vertically long-blade wind turbines 10 and the storage battery 30 can be laid inside the frame 50, for example. The electric wires may be laid in an underground conduit, and the storage battery 30 may be installed at a location away from the fence. The electrical energy stored in the storage battery 30 may be used for outdoor electrical equipment such as outdoor lights.
[0019] The wind power fence 1 can be used as an exterior fence around a house, or as a balcony fence. In particular, installing the wind power fence 1 on a balcony on a high floor where strong winds occur can be expected to generate more electricity.
[0020] An example of the configuration of the vertically long blade wind turbine generator 10 will be described with reference to FIG.
[0021] The vertically long blade wind turbine 10 shown in Figure 2 includes a power generating unit 11, a central shaft 12, and two vertically long blades 13 and 14. One end of the central shaft 12 is attached to the power generating unit 11. The other end of the central shaft 12 is rotatably held by a frame 50. The vertically long blades 13 and 14 are attached along the central shaft 12. When the vertically long blades 13 and 14 receive wind, the central shaft 12 rotates, causing the power generating unit 11 to generate electricity.
[0022] To enhance the aesthetic appeal of the fence, unique designs may be applied to the vertical blades 13, 14. For example, applying richly colored and elaborate patterns to the vertical blades 13, 14 can attract people's attention. In the case of a wind power generation fence 1 installed on a balcony on a high floor, making the vertical blades 13, 14 transparent allows residents to enjoy the view.
[0023] The number of vertical blades 13, 14 may be three or more.
[0024] The power generation unit 11 may be housed within the frame 50. Alternatively, the power generation unit 11 may be buried in a base on which a fence is to be installed. For example, after the power generation unit 11 is buried in the base, the central shaft 12 with the vertically long blades 13, 14 attached is attached to the power generation unit 11. After the sides of the frame 50 are fixed to the base, the top side of the frame 50 is attached so as to hold the end of the central shaft 12.
[0025] As described above, the wind power fence 1 of this embodiment includes a vertically long-blade wind power generator 10 having vertically long blades 13, 14 whose wind-receiving surfaces are arranged along the central axis 12 of the power generating section 11. Multiple vertically long-blade wind power generators 10 are arranged side by side with their central axes 12 standing upright. This allows the wind power fence 1 to function both as a residential facility and a power generator, eliminating the need for a dedicated space for power generation. Furthermore, mass production of the wind power fence 1 as a housing material can reduce costs. Furthermore, unlike solar power generation, wind power generation can generate power 24 hours a day. By arranging multiple vertically long-blade wind power generators 10 side by side, sufficient power generation can be expected. As a result, wind power generation can be widely adopted at the residential level.
