Description

Display devices and electronic devices

[0001] The present disclosure relates to a display device and an electronic device.

[0002] Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open Publication No. 2019-83273 discloses a display device. A numerical control device provided in a machine tool is detachably attached to the display device. The display device is also provided with a connector. The display device is electrically connected to the numerical control device via the connector.

[0003] From the viewpoint of preventing damage, deformation, etc. of connectors provided in display devices, a better technique is desired.

[0004] A first aspect of the present disclosure is a display device that is detachable from a control device, and includes a connector unit having a connector electrically connected to the control device, and a support structure that supports the connector unit in a displaceable manner.

[0005] A second aspect of the present disclosure is an electronic device including the display device and the control device.

[0006] FIG. 1 is a rear perspective view of an electronic device according to an embodiment. FIG. 2 is an exploded view of the electronic device shown in FIG. 1. FIG. 3 is a further exploded view of the electronic device shown in FIG. 2. FIG. 4 is a rear view of a display device. FIG. 5 is an enlarged view of a portion of FIG. 4. FIG. 6 is an exploded view of a connector unit. FIG. 7A is a cross-sectional view of a display device. FIG. 7B is a cross-sectional view of a display device in a state different from that of FIG. 7A. FIG. 8 is a rear perspective view of a portion of a display device according to a first modified example. FIG. 9 is a cross-sectional view simply showing the inside of a control device according to a second modified example. FIG. 10 is a plan view of a portion of a control device according to a third modified example.

[0007] The display device may be provided with an engagement portion and a connector. The engagement portion is a member that can be engaged with a control device that is separate from the display device. The engagement portion is, for example, a snap fit that engages with a housing provided in the control device. The connector is electrically connected to the control device. The display device may be controlled by a signal supplied from the control device via the connector.

[0008] However, vibrations may be applied to the connector electrically connecting the display device and the control device. For example, the display device and the control device may be included in a numerical control device that controls a processing machine. Vibrations are generated when the processing machine operates. The vibrations are transmitted to the control device and the display device to which the control device is attached. In this case, engaging portions such as snap fits cannot adequately absorb the vibrations. As a result, forces due to the vibrations are applied to the connector electrically connecting the display device and the control device. The forces applied to the connector in this way may cause damage, deformation, etc. to the connector.

[0009] Based on the above preliminary description, one embodiment is disclosed below.

[0010] The X direction (left-right direction) used in the following description is a direction parallel to a horizontal plane. The X direction includes the X1 direction, which is the right direction when viewing the display device 14 (described later) from the front, and the X2 direction, which is the left direction. The Y direction (up-down direction) used in the following description is a direction perpendicular to the horizontal plane. The Y direction includes the Y1 direction, which is the upward direction, and the Y2 direction, which is the downward direction (direction of gravity). The Z direction (front-back direction) used in the following description is a direction parallel to the horizontal plane and perpendicular to the X direction. The Z direction includes the Z1 direction, which is the forward direction, and the Z2 direction, which is the backward direction.

[0011] (One embodiment) Fig. 1 is a rear perspective view of an electronic device 10 according to one embodiment. Fig. 2 is an exploded view of the electronic device 10 shown in Fig. 1. Fig. 3 is a further exploded view of the electronic device 10 shown in Fig. 2.

[0012] The electronic device 10 is, for example, a numerical control device provided in a machine tool. The machine tool is provided with the electronic device 10 and a processing machine (not shown) controlled by the electronic device 10. The processing machine is a machine that processes a workpiece using a tool. The processing machine is, for example, a machining center, but is not limited to this. As shown in FIG. 1 , the electronic device 10 includes a control device 12 and a display device 14.

[0013] 2, the control device 12 includes a housing 16 separate from the display device 14, a plurality of control boards 18 (181, 182), and an external connector 20. The housing 16 includes the plurality of control boards 18 therein.

[0014] The multiple control boards 18 include a backboard 181. The multiple control boards 18 other than the backboard 181 are connected to the backboard 181. As a result, the multiple control boards 182 other than the backboard 181 can be connected to each other via the backboard 181. A control circuit (not shown) is mounted on the multiple control boards 18. The control circuit includes an electric circuit (electronic circuit) for controlling the processing machine and the display device 14 described above.

[0015] The external connector 20 is a connector for electrically connecting to the display device 14. The external connector 20 may be mounted on any of the multiple control boards 18 as appropriate. For example, the external connector 20 may be mounted on the backboard 181. The control circuit provided in the control device 12 can output a signal to the display device 14 via the external connector 20. The signal includes, for example, a control signal for displaying information related to the control of the processing machine on the display device 14. The external connector 20 may be provided on, for example, a surface 181a of the backboard 181 facing the Y1 direction (see also FIG. 3 ), but is not limited to this.

[0016] As shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 , the display device 14 has a front surface (front portion) 14a, a rear surface (back portion) 14b, an upper surface (upper portion) 14c, a lower surface (lower portion) 14d, and side surfaces (side portions) 14e. A display screen (not shown) is provided on the front surface 14a. The control device 12 is attached to the rear surface 14b. Although not specifically shown, a display panel, light-emitting elements, etc. are appropriately provided between the front surface 14a and the rear surface 14b. That is, the display device 14 is appropriately provided with a display panel, light-emitting elements, etc. The display panel includes, but is not limited to, a liquid crystal panel, for example. The light-emitting elements are, for example, light-emitting diodes (LEDs) that function as backlights for the liquid crystal panel, but are not limited to this. A detailed description of the top surface 14c, the lower surface 14d, and the side surfaces 14e is omitted.

[0017] The display device 14 includes an engagement portion 22, a rear plate 24, and a connector unit 26. More specifically, the rear surface 14b of the display device 14 includes the rear plate 24 and the connector unit 26.

[0018] The engaging portion 22 may be provided on the rear surface 14b of the display device 14, but is not limited to this. The engaging portion 22 may also be provided on the side surface 14e, top surface 14c, or bottom surface 14d of the display device 14. The engaging portion 22 can engage with the control device 12. As shown in FIG. 2, the display device 14 may be provided with a plurality of engaging portions 22. The plurality of engaging portions 22 may include a plurality of snap fits 23 (231, 232).

[0019] 4 is a rear view of the display device 14. FIG. 5 is an enlarged view of a portion of FIG.

[0020] The rear plate 24 is fixed to the rear surface 14b of the display device 14. More specifically, the rear surface 14b of the display device 14 has a board mounting portion 28 on which a second circuit board 50 (described later) is provided (see also FIG. 3). The rear plate 24 is fixed so as to cover the board mounting portion 28. The rear plate 24 has an opposing surface 24a facing the Z2 direction. The opposing surface 24a faces the control device 12. The rear plate 24 is formed from metal, but is not limited to this. For example, the rear plate 24 may be formed from resin. The rear plate 24 is fixed to the display device 14, for example, by screws, but is not limited to this.

[0021] The rear plate 24 also has a notch 30. This allows a portion of the board mounting section 28 to be exposed and not covered by the rear plate 24.

[0022] The connector unit 26 is provided on a portion of the back surface 14b (board mounting portion 28) of the display device 14 that is not covered by the back plate 24. More specifically, the connector unit 26 is located on a portion of the back surface 14b that is exposed by the cutout portion 30. As shown in FIG. 4 , the connector unit 26 includes a first circuit board 32, a first attachment 34, and a pair of second attachments 36.

[0023] FIG. 6 is an exploded view of the connector unit 26. As shown in FIG.

[0024] The first circuit board 32 is provided with a first connector 38. The first connector 38 is a connector that can mate with the above-mentioned external connector 20. By mating the first connector 38 with the external connector 20, the control device 12 can output a signal to the display device 14 via the external connector 20. The first connector 38 faces in the Z2 direction. Therefore, the first connector 38 and the external connector 20 can be attached and detached along the Z direction.

[0025] A plurality of board holes 40 are formed in advance in the first circuit board 32. Each of the plurality of board holes 40 penetrates the first circuit board 32 along the thickness direction of the first circuit board 32. In this embodiment, the Z direction coincides with the thickness direction of the first circuit board 32. The plurality of holes includes a pair of first board holes 401 and a pair of second board holes 402. The plurality of holes also includes a pair of third board holes 403. It is preferable that the position of one third board hole 403 in the Y direction coincides as closely as possible with the position of the other third board hole 403 in the Y direction. The functions and roles of the plurality of board holes 40 will be described later.

[0026] The first attachment 34 includes a covering portion 42 and a pair of protruding portions 44 .

[0027] The covering portion 42 is located in the Z2 direction relative to the first circuit board 32 and covers a portion of the first circuit board 32. A pair of holes 42h into which the screw members 46 can be inserted are formed in advance in the covering portion 42. The holes 42h are, for example, through holes. That is, the width of the holes 42h may be greater than the diameter of the body of the screw member 46. The pair of holes 42h may communicate with the pair of first board holes 401 described above.

[0028] Each of the pair of overhanging portions 44 is a portion that overhangs from the covering portion 42 along a direction intersecting (orthogonal to) the Z direction. More specifically, the overhanging portion 44 has an overhanging base portion 44a and a step portion 44b. The overhanging base portion 44a overhangs in the X direction or Y direction from the first circuit board 32 when viewed from the rear (when viewed from the front). The step portion 44b overhangs further in the X direction or Y direction from the overhanging base portion 44a and is located in the Z1 direction relative to the covering portion 42 and the overhanging base portion 44a. A more detailed description of the step portion 44b will be given later.

[0029] Each of the pair of second attachments 36 is a member that holds the first attachment 34. The second attachment 36 is provided so as to sandwich the first circuit board 32 together with the covering portion 42 of the first attachment 34. In other words, the second attachment 36 is positioned in the Z1 direction relative to the first circuit board 32.

[0030] Each of the pair of second attachments 36 is formed with a hole 36h and a protrusion 36p. The hole 36h can communicate with the hole 42h of the first attachment 34 via the first board hole 401 described above. The hole 36h is a tapped hole with a thread formed therein. Therefore, a screw member 46 inserted through the hole 42h and the first board hole 401 can be threaded into the thread of the hole 36h. The protrusion 36p protrudes from the base 36a of the second attachment 36 in the Z2 direction. The protrusion 36p is a dowel that can engage with the second board hole 402 described above. By engaging the protrusion 36p with the second board hole 402, the relative positional relationship between the second attachment 36 and the first circuit board 32 can be easily determined. That is, the user can easily connect hole 36 h and first board hole 401 by engaging protrusion 36 p with second board hole 402 .

[0031] As shown in FIGS. 3-5, the display device 14 further includes a support structure 52 .

[0032] The support structure 52 is a structure that displaceably supports the above-described connector unit 26. The support structure 52 is provided on, for example, the rear plate 24. That is, the connector unit 26 can be displaceably supported by the rear plate 24. More specifically, the support structure 52 has a pair of pins 60, a restriction structure 62, and a pair of grooves 64, which will be described below.

[0033] The pair of pins 60 protrude from the rear plate 24 in the Z2 direction. That is, the protruding direction, which is the direction from the base end to the tip end of the pin 60, coincides with the Z2 direction. Furthermore, the base end direction, which is the direction from the tip end to the base end of the pin 60, coincides with the Z1 direction. The pair of pins 60 are inserted into a pair of third board holes 403 formed in the first circuit board 32. The pair of pins 60 allow the first circuit board 32 (connector unit 26) to be displaced along the Z direction.

[0034] FIG. 5 also shows the thickness L60 of the pin 60 and the opening dimension L403 of the third board hole 403. The thickness L60 is the dimension of the pin 60 in a predetermined direction intersecting (orthogonal to) the Z direction. The opening dimension L403 is the dimension of the third board hole 403 in the predetermined direction. The thickness L60 is smaller than the opening dimension L403 (L60<L403). This allows the first circuit board 32 (connector unit 26) to be displaced along the predetermined direction. The predetermined direction may include the X direction or the Y direction. The predetermined direction may include both the X direction and the Y direction (see also FIG. 5). The displacement range of the connector unit 26 in the predetermined direction can be restricted based on the difference between the thickness L60 and the opening dimension L403.

[0035] The opening dimension L403A, which is the opening dimension L403 of one of the pair of third substrate holes 403, and the opening dimension L403B, which is the opening dimension L403 of the other of the pair of third substrate holes 403, may be different from each other. For example, as shown in Figure 5, the opening dimension L403A may be longer than the opening dimension L403B (L403A > L403B). The opening dimension L403B may be longer than the opening dimension L403A (L403B > L403A).

[0036] 7A is a cross-sectional view of the display device 14. A part of the cross section taken along line VIIA-VIIA in FIG.

[0037] The restricting structure 62 is a structure that restricts the movement range of the connector unit 26 in the Z direction. The restricting structure 62 has a first contact portion 66 and a second contact portion 68.

[0038] The first abutment portion 66 abuts against the first circuit board 32, thereby restricting displacement of the connector unit 26 in the Z1 direction. More specifically, the first abutment portion 66 includes a first abutment wall portion 66w. The first abutment wall portion 66w is a wall portion located in the Z1 direction relative to the first circuit board 32 provided in the connector unit 26. The first abutment wall portion 66w is provided in a position that overlaps the first circuit board 32 supported by the pair of pins 60 in a front view (rear view). The first abutment wall portion 66w abuts against the first circuit board 32. As a result, the first abutment wall portion 66w restricts displacement of the connector unit 26 in the Z1 direction. As shown in FIG. 7A , the pair of pins 60 may protrude from the first abutment wall portion 66w in the Z2 direction.

[0039] Fig. 7B is a cross-sectional view of the display device 14 in a state different from that shown in Fig. 7A. Fig. 7B shows a part of the cross section taken along line VIIA-VIIA when the connector unit 26 in Fig. 7A is displaced in the Z2 direction.

[0040] The second abutment portion 68 abuts against the step portion 44b of the first attachment 34, thereby restricting displacement of the connector unit 26 in the Z2 direction. More specifically, the second abutment portion 68 includes a second abutment wall portion 68w. The second abutment wall portion 68w is a wall portion located in the Z2 direction relative to the step portion 44b of the first attachment 34 of the connector unit 26. The second abutment wall portion 68w is provided in a position that overlaps with the step portion 44b of the protrusion portion 44 of the first attachment 34 in a front view (rear view). As shown in FIG. 7B , the second abutment wall portion 68w abuts against the step portion 44b. As a result, the second abutment wall portion 68w restricts displacement of the connector unit 26 in the Z2 direction.

[0041] 7A and 7B show a distance LZ in the Z direction between the first contact portion 66 and the second contact portion 68. The restricting structure 62 can restrict the movable range of the connector unit 26 in the Z direction to a range corresponding to the distance LZ.

[0042] The pair of grooves 64 are positioned in the Y (Y2) direction relative to the second abutment portions 68 ( FIG. 5 ). The pair of grooves 64 are formed to expose the pair of protruding portions 44 when the first attachment 34 is slid in the Y (Y2) direction with the screw members 46 removed from the first attachment 34. In other words, the pair of grooves 64 are formed to release the overlap between the second abutment portions 68 (rear panel 24) and the protruding portions 44 when the first attachment 34 is slid in the Y (Y2) direction. This allows the user to easily remove only the first attachment 34 without removing the rear panel 24 or the first circuit board 32 from the rear surface 14b of the display device 14. Furthermore, after the first attachment 34 is removed, the user can remove the first circuit board 32 from the rear surface 14b without removing the rear panel 24 from the rear surface 14b of the display device 14.

[0043] 3 to 5, the display device 14 may further include a flexible cable 48 and a second circuit board 50. Note that the flexible cable 48 is omitted in FIG.

[0044] The flexible cable 48 is a flexible cable. The flexible cable 48 is, for example, a flat cable. The flexible cable 48 electrically connects the second circuit board 50 and the first circuit board 32 provided in the connector unit 26. It is preferable that the flexible cable 48 be detachable from at least one of the first circuit board 32 and the second circuit board 50.

[0045] The second circuit board 50 is fixed to a board mounting portion 28 on the back surface 14b of the display device 14 and is covered by the back plate 24. The second circuit board 50 is, for example, screwed to the board mounting portion 28. A processing circuit for processing signals input from the control device 12 via the first connector 38, the flexible cable 48, etc. may be mounted on the second circuit board 50. Note that part of the processing circuit may be provided inside the display device 14. That is, part of the processing circuit may be provided between the front surface 14a and the back surface 14b of the display device 14.

[0046] The second circuit board 50 may be provided with a second connector 54. The second connector 54 is a connector to which a user interface unit 56 can be connected. The user interface unit 56 includes an interface connector (not shown) to which, for example, a portable recording medium can be connected. The portable recording medium may be, for example, a Universal Serial Bus (USB) flash memory, a memory card, or the like. In this case, the interface connector may include, for example, a USB connector, a memory card connector, or the like. As shown in FIG. 3 , the display device 14 may be formed with one or more sockets 58. The sockets 58 are through-holes that penetrate the display device 14, for example, along the Z direction. The interface connector is disposed in the socket 58, for example, via an opening end 58t on the Z2 side of the socket 58. In this case, a user can connect the portable recording medium to the user interface unit 56 by inserting the portable recording medium into the socket 58 through an opening end (not shown) on the Z1 side of the socket 58. As a result, the portable recording medium is connected to the electric circuit mounted on the second circuit board 50 via the user interface unit 56 .

[0047] The display device 14 having the above configuration and the control device 12 including the same can achieve the effects described below.

[0048] The display device 14 includes a support structure 52 that supports the connector unit 26 in a displaceable manner. As a result, when the control device 12 vibrates, the connector unit 26 can displace in response to the vibration. By allowing the connector unit 26 to displace in response to the vibration, the force applied to the first connector 38 included in the connector unit 26 is reduced. As a result, damage, deformation, etc. of the first connector 38 is suppressed.

[0049] The support structure 52 has a pair of pins 60. The pair of pins 60 protrude from the rear surface 14b of the display device 14. The pair of pins 60 are inserted into a pair of third board holes 403 formed in the connector unit 26. As a result, the pair of pins 60 support the connector unit 26 while allowing the connector unit 26 to displace along the longitudinal direction of the pins 60. In this embodiment, the Z direction (front-rear direction) coincides with the longitudinal direction of the pins 60.

[0050] It is preferable that the position in the Y direction of one third board hole 403 and the position in the Y direction of the other third board hole 403 coincide as closely as possible. In other words, it is preferable that the pair of third board holes 403 are in the same position as each other in the Y direction (gravity direction). This prevents the first circuit board 32 supported by the pair of pins 60 from tilting relative to the horizontal plane.

[0051] The thickness L60, which is the dimension of the pin 60 in a predetermined direction intersecting the longitudinal direction of the pin 60, is smaller than the opening dimension L403, which is the dimension of the third board hole 403 in the predetermined direction. This ensures a gap between the pin 60 and the third board hole 403. This gap allows the connector unit 26 to be displaced along the predetermined direction relative to the pin 60. As described above, in this embodiment, the Z1 direction coincides with the longitudinal direction of the pin 60. In this case, the predetermined direction includes at least one of the X direction and the Y direction.

[0052] [Correction Based on Rule 91 06.09.2024] The opening dimension L403A, which is one of the opening dimensions L403 of the pair of third board holes 403, and the opening dimension L403B, which is the other opening dimension L403, may be different from each other. For example, the opening dimension L403A may be longer than the opening dimension L403B (L403A > L403B). Inserting the pin 60 through the third board hole 403 having the opening dimension L403A is easier than inserting the pin 60 through the third board hole 403 having the opening dimension L403B. By inserting one of the pair of pins 60 through the third board hole 403 having the opening dimension L403A, the user can roughly position the first circuit board 32 on the back surface 14b of the display device 14. The user can roughly position the first circuit board 32 and then insert the other of the pair of pins 60 into the third board hole 403 having the opening dimension L403B. This allows the user to easily attach the first circuit board 32 to the back surface 14b. In this way, according to this embodiment, the user's workability can be improved.

[0053] The support structure 52 has a restriction structure 62 that restricts the range of movement of the connector unit 26 in the longitudinal direction (Z direction) of the pin 60. This prevents the connector unit 26 from being displaced more than necessary along the Z direction.

[0054] The restricting structure 62 has a first abutment portion 66 located in the Z1 direction relative to the connector unit 26 (first circuit board 32). The first abutment portion 66 is provided in a position that overlaps with the connector unit 26 when viewed from the front-to-rear direction. This prevents the connector unit 26 from moving more than necessary in the Z1 direction. The Z1 direction coincides with the base end direction of the pin 60.

[0055] The restricting structure 62 has a second abutment portion 68 located in the Z2 direction relative to the connector unit 26. The second abutment portion 68 is provided in a position that overlaps with the step portion 44b of the first attachment 34 when viewed from the front-to-rear direction. This prevents the connector unit 26 from moving more than necessary in the Z2 direction. The Z2 direction coincides with the protruding direction of the pin 60.

[0056] The display device 14 includes a second attachment 36 that sandwiches the first circuit board 32 together with the first attachment 34. The second attachment 36 has a thread formed therein that threadably engages with a screw member 46 that is inserted through the first circuit board 32 and the covering portion 42 of the first attachment 34. As a result, the first attachment 34 is held by the second attachment 36 while covering the first circuit board 32.

[0057] The display device 14 includes a second circuit board 50 provided on the rear surface 14b. The display device 14 also includes a flexible cable 48 that electrically connects the connector unit 26 and the second circuit board 50. This prevents the connector unit 26 from being hindered from being displaced even when the second circuit board 50, which is electrically connected to the connector unit 26, is fixed to the rear surface 14b.

[0058] The user interface unit 56 is mounted on a second circuit board 50 fixed to the rear surface 14b. The user interface unit 56 is equipped with interface connectors (not shown), such as a USB connector and a memory card connector. The interface connectors are located in sockets 58, which are through-holes formed in the display device 14. Because the second circuit board 50 is fixed to the rear surface 14b, even if the connector unit 26 is displaced, the interface connector is prevented from displacing relative to the socket 58. Therefore, displacement of the connector unit 26 does not prevent a user from connecting a portable recording medium to the interface connector via the socket 58.

[0059] The second circuit board 50 is covered by the back plate 24. As a result, the second circuit board 50 is protected by the back plate 24. For example, the risk of the second circuit board 50 being damaged due to a collision between the second circuit board 50 and the control device 12 is reduced.

[0060] The support structure 52 is provided on the back panel 24. This allows the user to complete maintenance by simply replacing the back panel 24 when part of the support structure 52 is damaged, deformed, or the like.

[0061] The back plate 24 has a cutout 30. The connector unit 26 is located in a portion of the back surface 14b that is exposed by the cutout 30. Therefore, the back plate 24 does not interfere with the connection between the first connector 38 and the external connector 20. Furthermore, the user can view the connector unit 26 without removing the back plate 24. Therefore, the user can perform maintenance on the connector unit 26 without removing the back plate 24.

[0062] The rear panel 24 is formed with a groove 64 that can release the overlap between the protrusion 44 and the second abutment portion 68 when the first attachment 34 is slid in the Y (Y2) direction. This allows the user to remove the first attachment 34 and the first circuit board 32 from the rear surface 14b of the display device 14 without removing the rear panel 24 from the rear surface 14b. This allows the user to easily replace parts related to the first attachment 34 or the first circuit board 32.

[0063] The surfaces of the first circuit board 32 and the second circuit board 50 are preferably parallel to the rear surface. That is, the surfaces of the first circuit board 32 and the second circuit board 50 are preferably parallel to the X direction and the Y direction. In this way, the display device 14 can be realized to be relatively thin in the Z direction.

[0064] The engagement portion 22 that engages the display device 14 with the control device 12 has, for example, a snap fit 23. This allows the user to easily engage the display device 14 with the control device 12.

[0065] The electronic device 10 (numerical control device) according to this embodiment includes the above-described display device 14 and the control device 12. As described above, the display device 14 according to this embodiment suppresses damage, deformation, and the like of the first connector 38. This can improve the reliability of the electronic device 10.

[0066] The control device 12 is equipped with a control circuit. The control circuit is capable of controlling a processing machine provided in the machine tool and is also capable of outputting a signal to the connector unit 26 for displaying information related to the control of the processing machine on the display device 14. The processing machine vibrates the electronic device 10 when it is operating. However, the electronic device 10 of this embodiment suppresses damage, deformation, etc. of the first connector 38 caused by the vibration. This can improve the reliability of the electronic device 10 according to this embodiment. Furthermore, the reliability of a machine tool equipped with the electronic device 10 as a numerical control device can be improved.

[0067] One embodiment may be modified as follows. In the following modifications, descriptions that overlap with the embodiment will be omitted as appropriate. In addition, in the drawings used in the following modifications, the same reference numerals are used for the same components as those described in the embodiment.

[0068] (Modification 1) FIG. 8 is a rear perspective view showing a part of the display device 14 (141) according to Modification 1. As shown in FIG.

[0069] The display device 141 includes a connector unit 26 (261) according to this modification. Compared to the connector unit 26 according to the previous embodiment, the connector unit 261 differs at least in that it does not include the second attachment 36. That is, as shown in FIG. 8 , the connector unit 261 includes a first circuit board 32 and a first attachment 34. The first circuit board 32 is provided with a pair of through-hole taps 70. The through-hole taps 70 are formed of, for example, metal. The through-hole taps 70 have screw holes 70h formed therein that communicate with the holes 42h of the first attachment 34. Thus, the first attachment 34 is fixed to the first circuit board 32 by screw members 46 attached to the through-hole taps 70 via the holes 42h.

[0070] According to this modification, the first attachment 34 is fixed to the first circuit board 32 without the second attachment 36 .

[0071] (Modification 2) FIG. 9 is a cross-sectional view simply showing the inside of a control device 12 (122) according to Modification 2. As shown in FIG.

[0072] The control device 122 includes a structure that displaceably supports the external connector 20. More specifically, the housing 16 (162) included in the control device 122 has a slot 72 that can support the backboard 181. A dimension L72 of the slot 72 in the thickness direction of the backboard 181 is longer than a thickness dimension L181 of the backboard 181 (L72 > L181). This allows the backboard 181 to displace in the thickness direction. Note that the thickness direction of the backboard 181 coincides with, for example, the Y direction. When the backboard 181 is displaceable in the thickness direction, the external connector 20 mounted on the backboard 181 can also displace in the thickness direction together with the backboard 181. In this way, according to this modification, the slot (structure) 72 displaceably supports the external connector 20.

[0073] The dimension of the slot 72 in the X direction may be longer than the dimension of the backboard 181 in the X direction. Also, the dimension of the slot 72 in the Z direction may be longer than the dimension of the backboard 181 in the Z direction. This allows the external connector 20 to be displaced in the X direction or the Z direction together with the backboard 181.

[0074] By allowing the external connector 20 to be displaced, the external connector 20 can also be displaced in response to, for example, the displacement of the connector unit 26. By displacing the connector unit 26 and the external connector 20 together, the force applied to the first connector 38 can be reduced.

[0075] 9 shows a guide opening 74 formed in the housing 162. The guide opening 74 is an opening that allows the external connector 20 to be mated with the first connector 38 (see one embodiment). The first connector 38 can be mated with the external connector 20 by being inserted into the guide opening 74. Although not shown in FIGS. 1 to 8, the guide opening 74 may be formed in the housing 16 according to one embodiment.

[0076] (Modification 3) Fig. 10 is a plan view showing a part of the control device 12 (123) according to Modification 3. Fig. 10 shows a plan view of the control device 123 as viewed from the rear (Z2 direction).

[0077] 10 , the housing 16 (163) of the control device 123 is formed with not only the guide opening 74 (see Modification 2) but also a pair of positioning holes 76. The pair of positioning holes 76 are formed in the housing 163 at positions on the Z1 direction side.

[0078] A pair of pins 60 (see one embodiment) provided on the display device 14 are inserted into the pair of positioning holes 76. As described above, the pair of pins 60 are inserted into the pair of third substrate holes 403. The pair of pins 60 are inserted into the pair of positioning holes 76 via the pair of third substrate holes 403.

[0079] The control device 123 is positioned relative to the display device 14 by inserting the pair of pins 60 into the pair of positioning holes 76. More specifically, the control device 123 is positioned relative to the support structure 52 provided on the display device 14 by inserting the pair of pins 60 into the pair of positioning holes 76. In other words, the relative movement between the control device 123 and the support structure 52 is restricted. This reduces the load on the external connector 20, the backboard 181, the first connector 38, etc., caused by the relative movement between the control device 123 and the support structure 52.

[0080] (Modification 4) The orientation of the first connector 38 is not limited to the Z2 direction. For example, the first connector 38 may be mounted on the first circuit board 32 in a state where it faces the X direction or the Y direction.

[0081] (Variation 5) As described above, one opening end 58t of the insertion port 58 is formed on the rear surface 14b. In this case, the position of the other opening end of the insertion port 58 is not limited to the front surface 14a of the display device 14, but may be on the side surface 14e, top surface 14c, or bottom surface 14d of the display device 14. In other words, the portable recording medium may be connected to the user interface unit 56 via the side surface 14e, top surface 14c, or bottom surface 14d of the display device 14.

[0082] (Combination of Multiple Modifications) The multiple modifications described above may be combined as appropriate within a range that does not cause inconsistency.

[0083] According to the above-described embodiment and modified examples, the display device 14 and the electronic device 10 can suppress damage, deformation, and the like of the first connector 38 .
