Abstract
Description
Bending device and method for manufacturing edgewise bent rectangular wire
[0001] The present invention relates to an apparatus for bending a rectangular wire edgewise, and a method for manufacturing an edgewise bent rectangular wire in which at least a portion is bent in the edgewise direction.
[0002] Edgewise bending, in which a rectangular wire whose cross-sectional shape is rectangular defined by first and second short sides and first and second long sides is bent in an edgewise direction with the first or second short side on the inside of the bend, is used when manufacturing bus bars formed from rectangular wire having an edgewise bent portion, or edgewise coils formed by winding rectangular wire into a coil shape.
[0003] For example, a winding device for manufacturing edgewise coils has been proposed (hereinafter referred to as the conventional device) that includes a main shaft that can move up and down and rotate around its axis, a cylindrical member that is fixed to a fixed base while being inserted onto the main shaft, a core wire that is fixed to the lower end of the cylindrical member, a clamp member that is integrally formed at the lower end of the main shaft so as to face the lower end surface of the core wire and cooperates with the core wire to clamp the workpiece in the thickness direction, and an orbital roller that is driven to rotate around the axis of the main shaft radially outward of the core wire and the clamp member (see Patent Document 1 below).
[0004] The core metal has a disk portion having a through hole through which the main shaft is inserted, and an annular protrusion protruding downward in a stepped manner from a radially outer portion of the disk portion.
[0005] The clamp member has a radially outer region facing the annular protrusion and a radially inner region protruding upward in a stepped manner from the radially inner end of the radially outer region, and the radially outer region forms an annular recess that engages with the annular protrusion.
[0006] The annular convex portion and the annular concave portion are arranged opposite each other and spaced apart vertically by a distance corresponding to the thickness of the flat wire that is the workpiece, and a U-shaped groove that opens radially outward is formed by the annular convex portion, the annular concave portion and the outer surface of the radially inner region of the clamping member.
[0007] In the conventional device, the flat wire is held in the U-shaped groove with one short side (e.g., the first short side) facing the radially inner region of the clamping member and being sandwiched in the thickness direction by the annular convex portion and the annular concave portion, and in this state, the revolving roller is driven to rotate around the axis of the main shaft, thereby bending the flat wire edgewise so that one short side (e.g., the first short side) is wrapped around the outer peripheral surface of the radially inner region of the clamping member.
[0008] The conventional device having such a configuration is useful in that it can suppress deformation of the cross-sectional shape of the rectangular wire to some extent during edgewise bending processing, because the rectangular wire is bent edgewise while being clamped in the thickness direction.
[0009] However, since all of the components forming the U-shaped groove are fixed around the axis of the main shaft, a large frictional force is applied to the flat wire during edgewise bending, which may result in scratches and dimensional variations in the edgewise bent flat wire.
[0010] JP 2013-004873 A
[0011] The present invention has been developed in consideration of such conventional technology, and aims to provide a bending device that can bend flat wire in the edgewise direction while effectively preventing or reducing defects and dimensional variations, and a method for manufacturing edgewise bent flat wire.
[0012] In order to achieve the above object, the present invention provides a bending device for edgewise bending a rectangular wire whose cross section is rectangular and defined by first and second short sides opposed to each other and first and second long sides opposed to each other, the bending device comprising: a first support having an end face facing an axial direction; a second support having an end face facing the axial direction and arranged coaxially with the first support; a revolution jig that is driven to revolve along the outer circumferential surface of a revolution jig side support that is one of the first and second supports; and a receiving jig supported by a receiving jig side support that is the other of the first and second supports, the first and second supports being movable relative to each other in the axial direction so as to be able to take a working position in which the end faces of the first and second supports are close to each other and a standby position in which the end faces are spaced apart, and the receiving jig is driven to be in contact with the end face of the revolution jig side support while being spaced apart by a distance corresponding to the thickness of the rectangular wire defined by the distance between the first and second long sides when the first and second supports are positioned at the working position. and an axially extending annular portion extending in the axial direction from a radially inner end of the radially extending annular surface in a direction approaching an end face of the revolution jig side support, and when the first and second supports are positioned at a working position, the end face of the revolution jig side support, the radially extending annular surface, and the axially extending annular portion form an annular engagement groove that opens radially outward, and the revolution jig is configured such that the first long side faces the end face of the revolution jig side support and the second long side faces the end face of the revolution jig side support. When the flat wire is driven to revolve in a state ready for bending, in which the long side faces the radially extending annular surface and the first short side faces the outer peripheral surface of the axially extending annular portion, the second short side is pressed so as to wrap the first short side around the axially extending annular portion, thereby bending the flat wire edgewise, and the receiving jig is supported on the receiving jig side support so as to be rotatable around its axis.
[0013] According to the bending device of the present invention, it is possible to bend a rectangular wire edgewise while effectively preventing or reducing defects and dimensional variations.
[0014] Preferably, the receiving jig has a tip portion extending from the axially extending annular portion toward the axial tip side, and a bearing hole is provided on the end face of the revolving jig support body, and when the first and second supports are positioned in the working position, the tip portion is engaged with the bearing hole so as to be freely rotatable about the axis.
[0015] In the first form, the first support acts as the revolving jig side support, and the second support acts as the receiving jig side support, and the second support is movable in the vertical direction so as to take a lowered position that defines the working position and an raised position that defines the waiting position.
[0016] In a second form, the first support acts as the receiving jig side support, and the second support acts as the revolving jig side support, and the second support is movable in the vertical direction so as to take a lowered position that defines the working position and an raised position that defines the waiting position.
[0017] In the various configurations described above, the receiving jig is supported by the receiving jig support via a bearing member having an inner race, an outer race, and rolling elements interposed between the inner race and the outer race. Preferably, the bearing member is a cross roller bearing.
[0018] For example, the inner race body is connected to the receiving jig, and the outer race body is connected to the receiving jig support body. Alternatively, the inner race body can be connected to the receiving jig support body, and the outer race body can be connected to the receiving jig.
[0019] In a first aspect, the revolution jig may have a main body portion including an opposing portion facing the outer peripheral surface of the revolution jig side support and a pressing portion extending axially outward from the revolution jig side support and pressing against the second short side of the flat square wire, and a lid portion connected to the main body portion so as to be swingable around the swing axis.
[0020] The cover portion is configured to be able to take a holding position that covers at least a portion of the flat wire that is located radially outward from the radially extending annular surface when the flat wire is engaged in the annular engagement groove and is ready for bending, and a retracted position that does not overlap with the flat wire that is ready for bending when viewed in a plane.
[0021] In a second aspect, the radial length of the installation area on the end face of the revolution jig side support where the flat wire is installed is the same as the width of the flat wire defined by the distance between the first and second short sides, and the radially extending annular surface is configured so that the radially inner end is located at the same radial position as the radially inner end of the installation area, and the radially outer end is located at the same radial position as the radially outer end of the installation area or extends radially outward from the radially outer end of the installation area. In this case, the revolution jig has a facing portion facing the outer peripheral surface of the revolution jig side support, and a pressing portion extending from the facing portion so as to be located axially outward from the revolution jig side support and pressing the second short side of the flat wire, and the pressing portion has a length less than the thickness of the flat wire defined by the distance between the first and second long sides.
[0022] Preferably, a radially outer end of the radially extending annular surface is located at the same radial position as a radially outer end of the installation region.
[0023] Preferably, the pressing portion is configured to have a length equal to or greater than half the thickness of the rectangular wire.
[0024] More preferably, the pressed portion is configured to have a length that is at least 1 / 2 and at most 4 / 5 of the thickness of the rectangular wire.
[0025] The present invention also provides a method for manufacturing an edgewise bent rectangular wire by bending at least a part of the rectangular wire, the cross section of which is defined by first and second short sides opposed to each other and first and second long sides opposed to each other, in an edgewise direction using a bending device having a first support having an upper end surface, a second support having a lower end surface and arranged coaxially with the first support, a revolving jig driven to revolve along the outer circumferential surface of the first support, and a receiving jig supported by the second support, is movable in the axial direction so as to be able to take a working position where the upper end surface of the first support and the lower end surface of the second support are close to each other and a standby position where the upper end surface and the lower end surface are spaced apart, the receiving jig is supported by the second support so as to be rotatable about its axis, and when the second support is positioned at the working position, the receiving jig has a radially extending annular surface that faces at least a part of the upper end surface of the first support while being spaced apart by a distance corresponding to the thickness of the rectangular wire defined by the distance between the first and second long sides, and and an axially extending annular portion extending in the axial direction from the radially inner end of the second support to a direction approaching the upper end surface of the first support, and when the second support is positioned at a working position, an installation area on the upper end surface of the first support where the flat wire is installed, the radially extending annular surface, and the axially extending annular portion are configured to form an annular engagement groove that opens radially outward, and the manufacturing method includes, when the second support is positioned at a standby position, installing the flat wire before bending in the installation area on the upper end surface of the first support. a process of moving the second support from a standby position to a working position with the flat wire set in the setting area, thereby making the flat wire before bending engage with the annular engagement groove and ready for bending; and an edgewise bending process of driving the revolving jig to revolve along the outer circumferential surface of the first support, thereby pressing the second short side with a pressing portion of the revolving jig so that the first short side is wound around the axially extending annular portion.
[0026] According to the method for manufacturing an edgewise bent rectangular wire of the present invention, it is possible to efficiently manufacture an edgewise bent rectangular wire in which defects and dimensional variations are effectively prevented or reduced.
[0027] In one embodiment, the revolution jig has a main body having a facing portion facing the outer peripheral surface of the first support and a pressing portion extending upward from the first support and pressing the second short side of the flat wire, and a lid connected to the main body so as to be swingable around a swing axis, and the lid is configured to be able to take a holding position in the bending ready state, covering at least a part of the part of the flat wire located radially outward from the radially extending annular surface, and a retracted position in which the flat wire does not overlap with the bending ready state in a plan view. In this case, the manufacturing method may include, after the step of making the bending ready state appear, a flat wire radially outer portion holding step of moving the lid from the retracted position to a holding position, and using the lid to cover at least a part of the part of the flat wire located radially outward from the radially extending annular surface.
[0028] In another embodiment, the radial length of the installation area is the same as the width of the flat wire defined by the distance between the first and second short sides, the radially extending annular surface is configured so that its radially inner end is radially aligned with the radially inner end of the installation area, and its radially outer end is radially aligned with the radially outer end of the installation area or extends radially outward from the radially outer end of the installation area, the revolving jig has a facing portion facing the outer circumferential surface of the first support and a pressing portion extending from the facing portion to be positioned above the first support and pressing the second short side of the flat wire, the pressing portion having a length equal to or less than the thickness of the flat wire defined by the distance between the first and second long sides. In this case, the edgewise bending process is performed with the entire width of the flat wire covered by the radially extending annular surface and the installation area.

[0030] Embodiment 1 An embodiment of a bending apparatus according to the present invention will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawings. Fig. 1 shows a longitudinal sectional front view of a bending apparatus 1 according to this embodiment. Fig. 2 shows a cross-sectional view taken along line II-II in Fig. 1. Fig. 3 shows an enlarged view of part III in Fig. 1.
[0031] The bending apparatus 1 is an apparatus for edgewise bending a rectangular wire 90A whose cross-sectional shape is rectangular and defined by first and second short sides 92a, 92b opposing each other and first and second long sides 94a, 94b, whose width W (see FIG. 2) is defined by the distance between the first and second short sides 92a, 92b and whose thickness T (see FIG. 3) is defined by the distance between the first and second long sides 94a, 94b, with one of the first and second short sides 92a, 92b (for example, the first short side 92a) on the inside of the bend and the other (for example, the second short side 92b) on the outside of the bend.
[0032] Specifically, as shown in Figures 1 to 3, the bending device 1 includes a first support 10 having an upper end surface 12, a second support 20 arranged coaxially with the first support 10 so that a lower end surface 22 faces an upper end surface 11 of the first support 10, a revolution jig 30 that is driven to revolve along the outer peripheral surface of a revolution jig side support that is one of the first and second supports 10, 20, and a receiving jig 50A supported by a receiving jig side support that is the other of the first and second supports 10, 20.
[0033] The first and second supports 10, 20 are movable relative to each other in the axial direction so that they can take a working position in which the upper end surface 12 of the first support 10 and the lower end surface 22 of the second support 20 are close to each other, and a standby position in which the upper end surface 12 and the lower end surface 22 are spaced apart.
[0034] In this embodiment, the first support 10 is fixed in the axial direction, and the second support 20 is movable in the vertical direction so as to be able to take a lowered position that exposes the working position and an upper position that exposes the standby position. Note that Fig. 1 shows the second support 20 in the lowered position.
[0035] Fig. 4 is a longitudinal sectional front view of the bending apparatus 1 in a state where the second support 20 is positioned at the raised position where the standby position is revealed. Fig. 5 is a cross-sectional view taken along line VV in Fig. 4.
[0036] As shown in FIGS. 1 to 5, in this embodiment, the first support 10 acts as the revolution jig side support, and the second support 20 acts as the receiving jig side support.
[0037] As shown in Figure 3, when the first and second supports 10, 20 are positioned at the working position, the receiving jig 50A has a radially extending annular surface 52 that faces at least a part of the end face of the revolution jig side support (in this embodiment, the upper end face 12 of the first support 10) while being spaced apart by a distance corresponding to the thickness T of the flat wire 90A defined by the distance between the first and second long sides 94a, 94b, and an axially extending annular portion 54 that extends axially from the radially inner end of the radially extending annular surface 52 in a direction approaching the end face of the revolution jig side support (in this embodiment, the upper end face 12 of the first support 10).
[0038] With this configuration, when the first and second supports 10, 20 are positioned in the working position, the end face of the revolving jig side support (in this embodiment, the upper end face 12 of the first support 10), the radially extending annular surface 52, and the axially extending annular portion 54 form an annular engagement groove 80 (see Figure 3) that opens radially outward.
[0039] In the bending preparation completed state (the state shown in Figures 1 to 3) in which the flat wire 90A is engaged in the annular engagement groove 80 so that the first long side 94a faces the end surface of the revolving jig side support (in this embodiment, the upper end surface 12 of the first support 10), the second long side 94b faces the radially extending annular surface 52, and the first short side 92a faces the outer peripheral surface of the axially extending annular portion 54, when the revolving jig 30 is driven to revolve around the axis of the revolving jig side support (in this embodiment, the first support 10), the revolving action of the revolving jig 30 presses the second short side 92b side so that the first short side 92a side is wound around the axially extending annular portion 54, thereby bending the flat wire 90A edgewise, and forming an edgewise bent flat wire 90B (see Figures 6 and 7 below).
[0040] In this way, the bending processing device 1 of this embodiment is configured so that three sides (the first short side 92a, the first long side 94a and the second long side 94b) of the rectangular cross section of the flat wire 90A are restricted by the outer surface of the axially extending annular portion 54, the end face of the revolving jig side support (in this embodiment, the upper end face 12 of the first support 10) and the radially extending annular surface 52, and the remaining side (i.e., the second short side 92b) of the rectangular cross section of the flat wire 90A is pressed edgewise by the revolving jig 50A, thereby effectively preventing or reducing the deformation of the rectangular cross section of the edgewise bent flat wire 90B from the cross section shape of the flat wire 90A before processing.
[0041] Fig. 6 shows a vertical cross-sectional side view of the revolving jig 30 after it has revolved 90° from its initial position along the outer circumferential surface around the axis of the revolving jig support body (the first support body 10 in this embodiment). Fig. 7 shows a cross-sectional view taken along line VII-VII in Fig. 6.
[0042] In this embodiment, as shown in Figure 3, the revolution jig 30 has a facing portion 32 that faces the outer peripheral surface of the revolution jig side support (the first support 10 in this embodiment), and a pressing portion 33 that extends axially outward from the revolution jig side support (the first support 10 in this embodiment) and presses the second short side 92b of the flat wire 90A.By revolving from the initial position (the position of the revolution jig 30 shown by the two-dot chain line in Figure 7) around the axis of the revolution jig support (the first support 10 in this embodiment) to the bending completion position (the position of the revolution jig 30 shown by the solid line in Figure 7), the pressing portion 33 presses the second short side 92b of the flat wire 90A in the direction approaching the first short side 92a, and thus the flat wire 90A is bent edgewise with the first short side 92a on the inside of the bending.
[0043] The revolution angle of the revolution jig 30 from the initial position to the bending completion position is set appropriately according to the bending angle of the edgewise bent portion to be formed in the rectangular wire 90 A. Fig. 8 shows a cross-sectional plan view when the revolution jig 30 is rotated 180° about the axis of the revolution jig side support (the first support 10 in this embodiment) from the initial position shown by the two-dot chain line to the bending completion position shown by the solid line (i.e., when the revolution angle is set to 180°).
[0044] As shown in FIG. 3, in this embodiment, the revolution jig 30 has a main body 31 having the opposing portion 32 and the pressing portion 33, and a lid 35 connected to the main body 31 so as to be swingable around the swing axis.
[0045] The cover portion 35 is configured to be able to take a holding position (see solid line in Figure 1 and Figure 3) in which it covers at least a portion of the second long side 94b of the flat wire 90A that is located radially outward from the radially extending annular surface 52 when the flat wire 90A is engaged in the annular engagement groove 80 and is ready for bending, and a retracted position (see dotted line in Figure 1 and Figure 4) in which it does not overlap with the flat wire 90A that is ready for bending when viewed in a plane.
[0046] By providing such a configuration, deformation of the rectangular cross section of the edgewise bent rectangular wire 90B during edgewise bending can be more effectively prevented or reduced.
[0047] As shown in FIG. 3 and other figures, in the bending apparatus 1, the receiving jig 50A is supported by the receiving jig side support body (the second support body 20 in this embodiment) so as to be rotatable about its axis.
[0048] With this configuration, the receiving jig 50A rotates around its axis due to the frictional force between it and the first edge 92a, which is on the inside of the bend, during edgewise bending processing, preventing excessive frictional force from being applied to the first edge 92a and effectively preventing or reducing the occurrence of defects and dimensional variations in the edgewise bent flat wire 90B.
[0049] In this embodiment, as shown in Figure 3 etc., the receiving jig 50A is supported on the receiving jig side support body (the second support body 20 in this embodiment) so as to be rotatable about its axis via a bearing member 60 including an inner race body 62, an outer race body 64, and rolling elements 66 such as balls, rollers, or rollers interposed between the inner race body 62 and the outer race body 64.
[0050] In this embodiment, the bearing member 60 is a cross roller bearing in which a plurality of rollers are arranged orthogonally as the rolling elements 66 .
[0051] In this embodiment, as shown in FIGS. 1, 3, 4, etc., the inner race 62 is connected to the receiving jig 50A, and the outer race 64 is connected to the receiving jig side support body (the second support body 20 in this embodiment).
[0052] 9 and 10 are longitudinal sectional front views of the bending apparatus 2 according to a first modified example of this embodiment. Figures 9 and 10 show the working position (the lowered position of the second support 20) and the standby position (the raised position of the second support 20), respectively. In the drawings, the same members or parts as those in this embodiment are denoted by the same reference numerals.
[0053] The bending apparatus 2 according to the first modified example has a receiving jig 50B instead of the receiving jig 50A, as compared with the bending apparatus 1. The receiving jig 50B is configured to be connected to the outer race 64.
[0054] That is, in the first modified example 2, as shown in Figures 9 and 10, the inner race body 62 is connected to the receiving jig side support body (the second support body 20), and the outer race body 64 is connected to the receiving jig 50B.
[0055] Naturally, instead of the bearing members 50A, 50B, it is also possible to support the receiving jigs 50A, 50B on the receiving jig side support body so that they can rotate freely around their axes via other rotation-permitting support mechanisms such as rollers.
[0056] Furthermore, in this embodiment and the first modified example, the receiving jigs 50A, 50B have a tip portion 56 extending from the axially extending annular portion 54 toward the axial tip side, and a bearing hole 13 is provided on the end face of the revolving jig support body (the upper end surface 12 of the first support body 10).
[0057] As shown in Figures 1 and 9, the tip portion 56 is configured to be engaged with the bearing hole 13 so as to be rotatable about the axis when the first and second supports 10, 20 are positioned at the working position (in this embodiment and the first modified example, when the second support 20 is positioned at the lowered position).
[0058] With this configuration, the posture of the receiving jigs 50A and 50B can be stabilized during edgewise bending, and the occurrence of flaws and dimensional variations in the edgewise bent rectangular wire 90B can be more effectively prevented or reduced.
[0059] Hereinafter, a method for manufacturing an edgewise bent rectangular wire 90B using the bending apparatus 1 according to the present embodiment will be described.
[0060] The manufacturing method includes a flat wire setting step, a bending preparation completion step, and an edgewise bending step.
[0061] The flat wire installation process (Figures 4 and 5) is configured so that, when the second support 20 is positioned in an elevated position, the flat wire 90A before bending is installed in the installation area (i.e., the groove area that will form the annular engagement groove 80) on the upper end surface 12 of the first support 10 where the flat wire 90A is installed.
[0062] Specifically, the rectangular wire 90A is bent edgewise by the revolving jig 30 in a bending-ready state in which the rectangular wire 90A is engaged with the annular engagement groove 80. In the bending-ready state, the first long side 94a, the second long side 94b, and the first short side 92a of the rectangular wire 90A face the upper end surface 12 of the first support 10, the radially extending annular surface 52, and the axially extending annular portion 54, respectively.
[0063] That is, the flat wire installation process is configured such that when the second support 20 is positioned in the raised position, the flat wire 90A is installed in a state where the first long side 94a is in contact with the installation area (the groove-planned area that forms the annular engagement groove 80) of the upper end surface 12 of the first support 10, so that the flat wire 90A is engaged in the annular engagement groove 80 and appears ready for bending as the second support 20 transitions from the raised position to the lowered position.
[0064] The bending preparation completion process (Figures 1 to 3) is configured to move the second support 20 from an elevated position to a lowered position with the flat wire 90A placed in the groove-designated area, thereby creating a bending preparation completion state in which the flat wire 90A before bending is engaged in the annular engagement groove 80.
[0065] In this embodiment, the manufacturing method includes a flat wire radial outer portion holding process, in which after the bending process preparation completion process, the cover portion 35 of the revolving jig 30 is moved from a retracted position (two-dotted line in Figure 1) to a holding position (solid line in Figure 1), and the cover portion 35 covers at least a portion of the second long side 94b of the flat wire 90A that is located radially outward from the radially extending annular surface 52.
[0066] The edgewise bending process is configured to revolve the revolving jig 30 around the axis of the first support 10 from an initial position (dashed line in Figure 7) to a desired bending completion position (solid line in Figure 7), and to press the second short side 92b in the edgewise direction by the pressing portion 33 of the revolving jig 30 so that the side of the first short side 92a is wrapped around the axially extending annular portion 54.
[0067] In this embodiment and the first modified example, the first support 10 acts as the revolution jig side support and the second support 20 acts as the receiving jig side support, but the present invention is not limited to such a configuration.
[0068] 11 and 12 are longitudinal sectional front views of a bending apparatus 3 according to a second modification of the present embodiment. Figs. 11 and 12 show the working position and the standby position, respectively. In the drawings, the same members and parts as those in the present embodiment and the first modification are denoted by the same reference numerals.
[0069] 11 and 12 , the bending apparatus 3 according to the second modified example is configured so that the first support 10 acts as a receiving jig-side support that supports the receiving jig 50, and the second support 20 acts as a revolving jig-side support that supports the revolving jig 30. Therefore, in the bending apparatus 3, a bearing hole 23 is provided in the lower surface 22 of the second support 20, into which the tip end 56 of the receiving jig 50A is engaged so as to be rotatable about the axis.
[0070] In the bending device 3, the first support 10 acting as the receiving jig side support is fixed in the axial direction, and the second support 20 acting as the revolving jig side support is movable in the axial direction, and the second support 20 is positioned at a lowered position (FIG. 11) and an elevated position (FIG. 12) to provide a working position and a standby position. Alternatively, the first support 10 may be movable in the axial direction, and the second support 20 may be fixed in the axial direction.
[0071] Embodiment 2 Another embodiment of the bending apparatus according to the present invention will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawings. Fig. 13 shows a longitudinal sectional front view of a bending apparatus 4 according to this embodiment. Fig. 14 shows a cross-sectional view taken along line XIV-XIV in Fig. 13. Fig. 15 shows an enlarged view of part XV in Fig. 13. In the drawings, the same members as those in the first embodiment are designated by the same reference numerals, and detailed descriptions thereof will be omitted where appropriate.
[0072] The bending processing device 4 in this embodiment is configured to perform edgewise bending processing of the flat wire 90A while the entire width W of the flat wire 90A is covered by the installation area on the end face of the revolution jig side support (in this embodiment, the upper end face 12 of the first support 10) where the flat wire 90A is installed and the radially extending annular surface 52.
[0073] Specifically, compared to the bending apparatus 1 according to the first embodiment, the bending apparatus 4 according to this embodiment has a receiving jig 50C instead of the receiving jig 50A.
[0074] As in the bending processing apparatus 1 of embodiment 1, the installation area (groove area intended to form the annular engagement groove 80) on the end face of the revolution jig side support (in this embodiment, the upper end face 12 of the first support 10) where the flat wire 90A is installed has a radial length that is the same as the width W of the flat wire 90A defined by the distance between the first and second short sides 92a, 92b.
[0075] Like the receiving jig 50A, the receiving jig 50C has the radially extending annular surface 52 that is spaced apart from the end face of the revolving jig side support (in this embodiment, the upper end face 12 of the first support 10) by a distance equivalent to the thickness T of the flat wire 90A when the first and second supports 10, 20 are positioned at the working position, and the axially extending annular portion 54 that extends axially from the radially inner end of the radially extending annular surface 52 in a direction approaching the end face of the revolving jig side support (in this embodiment, the upper end face 12 of the first support 10).
[0076] The receiving jig 50C is the same as the receiving jig 50A in that the radially inner end of the radially extending annular surface 52 is positioned radially at the same position as the radially inner end of the installation area, but differs from the receiving jig 50A in that the radially outer end of the radially extending annular surface 52 extends radially outward from the radially outer end of the installation area.
[0077] The receiving jig 50C can be deformed so that the radially outer end of the radially extending annular surface 52 is positioned at the same radial position as the radially outer end of the installation region.
[0078] Furthermore, compared to the bending apparatus 1 according to the first embodiment, the bending apparatus 4 according to this embodiment has a revolving jig 30C instead of the revolving jig 30.
[0079] As shown in Figures 13 and 15, the revolution jig 30C is similar to the revolution jig 30 in that it has an opposing portion 32 that faces the outer peripheral surface of the revolution jig side support (the first support 10 in this embodiment), and a pressing portion 33 that extends from the opposing portion 32 so as to be positioned axially outward from the revolution jig side support and presses the side of the second short side 92b of the flat wire 90A.
[0080] On the other hand, the revolution jig 30C differs from the revolution jig 30 in that the lid portion 35 is omitted.
[0081] As shown in Figure 15, in the revolution jig 30C, the pressing portion 33 is configured to have a length that is less than the thickness T of the flat wire 90A, which is defined by the distance between the first and second long sides 94a, 94b.
[0082] In the bending processing device 4 configured as described above, the flat wire 90A is bent edgewise by the revolving jig 30C with the entire width of the outer surface on one side of the thickness direction abutting against the installation area on the end face of the revolving jig side support (in this embodiment, the upper end face 12 of the first support 10), and the entire width of the outer surface on the other side of the thickness direction abutting against the radially extending annular surface 52 of the receiving jig 50C.
[0083] In other words, in this embodiment, the radial outer end edge of the radially extending annular surface 52 does not exist on the outer surface of the flat wire 90A, and therefore, the risk of the outer end edge causing scratches on the outer surface of the flat wire 90A can be effectively prevented.
[0084] Furthermore, in this embodiment, the pressing portion 33 of the revolving jig 30C has a length equal to or less than the thickness T of the flat wire 90A, thereby reliably preventing the revolving jig 30C from colliding with the receiving jig 50C during the revolving operation of the revolving jig 30C.
[0085] Preferably, the pressing portion 33 has a length equal to or greater than half the thickness T of the rectangular wire 90A. With this configuration, the pressing force based on the revolution of the revolution jig 30C can be effectively applied to the rectangular wire 90A.
[0086] More preferably, the pressing portion 33 has a length of at least 1 / 2 and at most 4 / 5 of the thickness of the rectangular wire 90A. With this configuration, the revolving jig 30C can be reliably prevented from colliding with the receiving jig 50C, and the pressing force based on the revolving motion of the revolving jig 30C can be effectively applied to the rectangular wire 90A.
[0087] Naturally, the first and second modified examples can also be applied to the bending device 4 according to this embodiment.
