Description

Battery pack output system and battery pack used in the above output system

[0001] The present invention relates to a battery pack output system and a battery pack used in the above output system, and more specifically, to a battery pack output system invented to efficiently control the arrangement and output of battery cells of a battery pack that uses a combination of multiple batteries in cell units, and to provide a battery pack used in the above output system.

[0002] A battery pack is designed to supply electricity of a desired specification to specific electronic equipment or machines, and a typical battery pack is composed of multiple cell-unit batteries.

[0003] A typical battery pack is configured by arranging multiple battery cells (C) in parallel as shown in Fig. 1, positioning nickel plates on the positive (+) and negative (-) sides of the upper and lower portions of the battery cells (C), and then fixing them by a method such as spot welding. The output electricity (+, -) of the parallel battery pack configured as described above is configured to be output to a battery management system (BMS) or a battery safety circuit (PCM; Protection Circuit Module).

[0004] The above-mentioned conventional battery pack has the advantage of being easy to arrange and configure battery cells, and is widely used because it can be manufactured at low production costs by using basic components.

[0005] Conventional battery packs consist of multiple battery cells arranged in parallel and fixed using nickel plates. If one of the battery cells constituting the battery pack is defective, problems may occur with the overall performance (output) of the battery pack. In addition, not only may the set voltage value not be obtained due to the defective battery cell, but other connected battery cells may be overcharged during the charging process, and when discharging, multiple connected battery cells may discharge rapidly, making it difficult to maintain the set characteristics of the battery pack.

[0006] In addition, it was pointed out that it was difficult to determine which battery cell in the battery pack was defective, and that it was difficult to replace the defective battery cell because it was fixed by welding.

[0007] The present invention was created to solve the problems in the operation of the conventional battery pack as described above, and by arranging a plurality of holders on a printed circuit board and connecting battery cells in series to each holder by a pattern-printed electric conductor, it is easy to implement a series-type battery pack, and at the same time, it is easy to perform the removal and installation of battery cells, so that the replacement of defective battery cells can be easily performed, and by enabling parallel operation of the battery pack using a connection port installed on the printed circuit board or enabling the balancing of the battery pack to be detected using an external terminal, it is possible to improve the output and operation efficiency of the battery pack, and it is intended to provide a battery pack output system and a battery pack used in the above output system, which are invented with a focus on the technical task.

[0008] The present invention for solving the above technical problem is characterized in that it comprises at least one battery pack configured by connecting a plurality of battery cells in series, and the output electricity of the battery cells constituting the battery pack is output to a battery management system (BMS) or a battery safety circuit (Protection Circuit Module) via an electric conductor pattern-printed on a printed circuit board (PCB), and the electricity output from each battery cell is configured to pass through a battery cell voltage selection circuit, so that the battery cell voltage selection circuit measures the output voltage of each battery cell constituting the battery pack and transmits the measured voltage value to the BMS.

[0009] The battery pack output system proposed in the present invention is configured such that battery cells connected to a plurality of holders arranged on a printed circuit board (PCB) output electricity in a serial connection state by means of electric conductors pattern-printed on the printed circuit board, and output the electricity to a battery management system (BMS) or a battery safety circuit (PCM), thereby enabling the balancing of the battery pack to be detected using an external terminal and, by using an on-off switch, enabling the battery cells of neighboring battery packs to be connected in parallel with each other, enabling the balancing detection and performance measurement of each battery pack and the battery cells connected thereto.

[0010] According to the present invention, not only is it easy to construct a battery pack output system, but it is also possible to easily manage the output of the battery pack and improve the operating efficiency of the battery pack.

[0011] In addition, the battery pack proposed in the present invention can easily implement a series-type battery pack by a simple process of inserting and connecting battery cells into a plurality of holders installed on a printed circuit board, thereby enabling easy installation and removal of battery cells, thereby facilitating the replacement of defective battery cells, and enabling parallel operation of the battery pack by utilizing a connection port installed on the printed circuit board or enabling balancing of the battery pack to be detected using an external terminal, thereby improving the operating efficiency of the battery pack, and thus the present invention is a truly beneficial invention in terms of its expected effects.
