[0041] Hereinafter, the present disclosure will be described in detail with reference to the attached drawings. However, these are merely exemplary and the present disclosure is not limited to the specific embodiments described as examples.
[0042] Among the properties mentioned in this specification, if the measurement temperature and / or pressure affect the properties, the properties are properties measured at room temperature and pressure, unless otherwise specified.
[0043] As heat management from batteries in electrical, electronic, and secondary battery products becomes a critical issue, various heat dissipation measures have been proposed. For example, battery modules sometimes include a heat-dissipating adhesive layer that secures the battery cells while efficiently transferring the heat generated from the cells to the outside.
[0044] In one example, a heat-dissipating adhesive is applied to the lower inner surface of a module case, and a battery module is manufactured by attaching a plurality of battery cells onto the applied adhesive.
[0045] In addition, in one example, in order to manufacture a battery module, a method may be adopted in which a plurality of battery cells are placed side by side and stacked horizontally to assemble them into a battery cell unit, and then the assembled battery cell unit is inserted into a module case. Here, in order to minimize the volume, the battery module is manufactured by pressing at least two surfaces of the battery cell unit to minimize the space between the battery cells, inserting them into the module case, and releasing the pressing.
[0046] However, when a battery cell unit pressurized on both sides as described above while a heat-dissipating adhesive is applied to the lower inner surface of the module case is brought into contact with the heat-dissipating adhesive, there are cases where the battery cell is pushed out when the pressure is released and the heat-dissipating adhesive is pushed to one side. In this case, unnecessary use of heat-dissipating adhesive may occur, or the heat-dissipating adhesive may be inserted into the space between the battery cells.
[0047] According to one aspect of the present disclosure, a method for manufacturing a battery module can be provided that can prevent process-related defects and improve the heat dissipation characteristics of a final product. In addition, according to one aspect of the present disclosure, a method for manufacturing a battery module can be provided that can prevent an adhesive material (200) from flowing between battery cells (1), thereby preventing process-related defects and improving the safety of a final product. In addition, according to one aspect of the present disclosure, a battery module (2) manufactured by the method for manufacturing the battery module can be provided, and an electric device can be provided that includes at least one selected from the group consisting of a battery pack (3) including the battery module (2) and an electric device.
[0048] FIG. 1 is a drawing exemplarily showing a portion of the structure of a battery cell (1) according to one aspect of the present disclosure. FIG. 2 is a drawing exemplarily showing the structure of a battery module (2) according to one aspect of the present disclosure. FIG. 3 is a drawing exemplarily showing the structure of a battery pack (3) according to one aspect of the present disclosure.

[0053] In addition, the outer casing (1e) of the battery cell can protect the positive electrode (1a), the negative electrode (1b), and the separator (1c) from external impact and prevent the electrolyte (1d) from leaking out. Depending on the shape of the outer casing (1e) of the battery cell, the battery cell (1) can be classified into a square shape, a coin shape, a cylindrical shape, or a pouch shape. In the present disclosure, the battery cell (1) can preferably be a pouch shape.

[0065] In addition, the method for manufacturing a battery module according to one aspect of the present disclosure is characterized by the method of applying an adhesive material (200) (see FIG. 5). In particular, as described above, the battery module (2) requires a heat dissipation measure for safety reasons, and as the heat dissipation measure, a method of forming a heat dissipation adhesive layer by applying a heat dissipation material to the adhesive material used when fixing the battery cell (1) is mainly used. However, the battery module (2) was manufactured by applying the heat dissipation adhesive to the inner surface of the module housing (20) and inserting the battery cell unit (2a) thereon, but this manufacturing method had several problems. Specifically, referring to FIG. 12, the module housing (20) may include a support plate (21) and two side plates (22) provided at opposite corner areas of the support plate (21). Here, the module housing (20) may be an example of the lower housing (2b-1) in FIG. 3.
[0107] Referring to Fig. 12, it can be seen that the battery cell unit (100) to which the adhesive material (200) is applied is inserted into the module housing (20). The battery cell unit (100) to which the adhesive material (200) is applied can be inserted into the module housing (20) through a transfer device. The transfer device can pick up the battery cell unit (100) to which the adhesive material (200) is applied. [0108] The above-described transport device can pick up and transport the battery cell unit (100) to which the adhesive material (200) is applied so that the area on which the adhesive material (200) is applied (the so-called bottom surface of the battery cell unit (100)) is in contact with the support plate (21) of the module housing (20).
[0109] Referring to Fig. 12, the battery cell unit (100) coated with the adhesive material (200) may be placed so that the area where the adhesive material (200) is applied faces upward (+z direction) and inserted into the module housing (20). At this time, the module housing (20) may also be placed so that the bottom surface (outer surface of the support plate (21)) faces upward (+z direction) so that the battery cell unit (100) coated with the adhesive material (200) may be smoothly inserted. That is, the module housing (20) and the battery cell unit (100) coated with the adhesive material (200) may be appropriately positioned so that the inner surface of the support plate (21) may be in contact with the bottom surface of the battery cell unit (100) coated with the adhesive material (200). The above transport device can position or transport the module housing (20) and the battery cell unit (100) coated with the adhesive material (200) to a specific location and perform the insertion step described above.
[0110] Meanwhile, the above-described transport device can perform the pressurizing function of the pressurizing device (500) to be described later. Details regarding the pressurizing device (500) will be described later.
[0111] In Fig. 12, only the process of transporting a battery cell unit (100) to which an adhesive material (200) is applied is illustrated, but in another example, the transport device can pick up a module housing (20). In addition, the transport device can transport the module housing (20) to another space while picking it up.
[0112] In the insertion step of the method for manufacturing a battery module according to one aspect of the present disclosure, the width (W) of the module housing (20) H ) and height (H H ) each has a width (W) of a battery cell unit (100) to which an adhesive material (200) is applied. C ) and height (H C ) may be greater than or equal to each other.
[0113] In the insertion step of the method for manufacturing a battery module according to one aspect of the present disclosure, the width (L) of the module housing (20) H ) is the width (L) of the battery cell unit (100) to which the adhesive material (200) is applied. C ) may be greater than, less than, or equal to. Here, the width (L) of the module housing (20) H ) may mean the size of the vertical distance between the inner surfaces of the two side plates (22).
[0114] Preferably, the width (L) of the module housing (20) H ) is the width (L) of the battery cell unit (100) to which the adhesive material (200) is applied. C ) may be smaller than or equal to the width (L) of the module housing (20). In addition, preferably, in the insertion step of the method for manufacturing a battery module according to one aspect of the present disclosure, the width (L) of the module housing (20) H ) is the width (L) of the battery cell unit (100) coated with the adhesive material (200) described later in a pressurized state. C ') can be greater than or equal to.
[0115] If the aforementioned width (L), width (W), and height (H) are not measured consistently in each configuration (module housing (20) and battery cell unit (100)), the smallest value may be used as a representative. In other examples, the average value may be used as a representative.
[0116] In the insertion step of the method for manufacturing a battery module according to one aspect of the present disclosure, the battery cell unit (100) to which the adhesive material (200) is applied can be inserted with each side plate (22) of the module housing (20) spread apart.
[0117] FIG. 13 is a drawing showing at least a part of an insertion step of a method for manufacturing a battery module according to one aspect of the present disclosure. In the above, the opening of the two side plates (22) may mean that the vertical distance between the two side plates (22) is larger than the original vertical distance between the two side plates (22). That is, the opening of the two side plates (22) may mean that the width (L) of the module housing (20) H ) may mean growing. Here, by spreading the two side plates (22), the width (L) of the inlet area (E) into which the battery cell unit (100) to which the adhesive material (200) is applied is inserted in the two side plates (22) H ') is the width (L) of the module housing (20) before spreading the two side plates (22) above. H ) may be larger than the width (L). In addition, as the two side plates (22) are spread apart, the width (L) of the two side plates (22) increases as they get closer to the support plate (21) as shown in Fig. 14. H ) can be gradually reduced. When the battery cell unit (100) to which the adhesive material (200) is applied is inserted while the two side plates (22) are spread apart as described above, the insertion step can proceed more smoothly.
[0118] Meanwhile, in the insertion step of the method for manufacturing a battery module according to one aspect of the present disclosure, the width (L) of the inlet area (E) into which the battery cell unit (100) to which the adhesive material (200) is applied is inserted on both side plates (22) H') is the width (L) of the battery cell unit (100) to which the adhesive material (200) is applied. C ) can be greater than.
[0119] Referring to FIG. 13, in the insertion step of the method for manufacturing a battery module according to one aspect of the present disclosure, an adsorption device (23) is attached to at least a portion of each of the two side plates (22), and can exert an adsorption force in the direction in which the side plates (22) are spread apart. In the above, the pressing is performed by a width (L) of the battery cell unit (100) on which the adhesive material (200) is applied. C ) can mean reducing.
[0125] In the insertion step of the method for manufacturing a battery module according to one aspect of the present disclosure, the insertion step can proceed more smoothly by pressing both sides (M) of the battery cell unit (100) to which the adhesive material (200) is applied.
[0126] Meanwhile, the width (L) of the module housing (20) H ) is the width (L) of the battery cell unit (100) to which the adhesive material (200) is applied in a pressurized state. C ') may be greater than or equal to the width (L) of the module housing (20). Preferably, the width (L) of the module housing (20) H) is the width (L) of the battery cell unit (100) to which the adhesive material (200) is applied in a pressurized state. C ') can be larger.
