Abstract
Description
Elevator video information providing system and elevator video information providing method
[0001] The present invention relates to a system and a method for providing video information for an elevator.
[0002] Elevator cars and landings are provided with liquid crystal displays that display the current location of the car, and some display advertisements on these displays. For example, Patent Document 1 describes an elevator information display system that "displays advertisements tailored to the attributes of passengers in a timely manner while they are waiting for the elevator at the landing or while they are inside the elevator" (paragraph 0056).
[0003] Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2002-104747
[0004] In conventional technologies such as those disclosed in Patent Document 1, if there is another competing entity in the same building or in a nearby facility, depending on the tenants occupying the building in which the elevator is installed, video information such as advertisements for that entity may be output from a display device inside the elevator car.
[0005] The object of the present invention is to realize an elevator video information providing system and elevator video information providing method that can, as necessary, eliminate video information of other parties that are in competition with tenants occupying the building in which the elevator is installed.
[0006] In order to solve the above-mentioned problems, the present invention provides a video information provision system for an elevator that provides video information to an output device located inside the elevator car or at the landing, and includes a video information data storage unit that stores video information data that is moving image data and / or image data and / or audio data, a provision availability information storage unit that stores, for each building in which the elevator is installed, designation information regarding video information data that cannot be provided and / or video information data that can be provided, and a video information data management unit that extracts the video information data to be provided to the output device from the video information data storage unit based on the designation information stored in the provision availability information storage unit.
[0007] Furthermore, in order to solve the above-mentioned problems, the present invention provides a video information providing method for an elevator that provides video information to an output device arranged inside the elevator car or at a landing, comprising the steps of: a video information data management unit uploading video information data, which is moving image data and / or image data and / or audio data, to a video information data storage unit; a step of the video information data management unit registering, for each building in which the elevator is installed, designation information regarding video information that cannot be provided and / or video information that can be provided in a provision availability information storage unit; and a step of the video information data management unit extracting, from the video information data storage unit, the video information data to be provided to the output device based on the designation information registered in the provision availability information storage unit.
[0008] According to the present invention, it is possible to realize a system and a method for providing video information for an elevator, which can, as necessary, eliminate video information such as advertisements of other parties that are in a competitive relationship with tenants occupying the building in which the elevator is installed. Problems, configurations, and effects other than those described above will become clear from the description of the following embodiments.

[0010] Hereinafter, an embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings.
[0011] Figure 1 is a block diagram showing the overall configuration of an elevator video information system. The elevator video information system is composed of an elevator installed in a building or other structure and a management server 1 that manages the elevator. Each component will be explained individually below.
[0012] (Configuration of elevator) The elevator comprises a car 3 installed in the elevator shaft of the building, a main rope (not shown) with one end attached to the car 3, a counterweight (not shown) to which the other end of the main rope is attached and which is suspended in the elevator shaft, a hoist (not shown) that is rotatably installed in a machine room or the like above the elevator shaft and around which the main rope is wound, and an elevator control device 2 that controls the hoist and the like.
[0013] The car 3 is equipped with an in-car display 31, a speaker 32, buttons 33, a camera 34, an authentication device 35, and the like. The in-car display 31 is an output device such as an LCD monitor that outputs image data, and as shown in FIG. 2 , it displays the current location and movement direction (whether the car 3 is ascending or descending) of the car 3, as well as video information such as advertisements. The speaker 32 is an output device that outputs audio data, and is capable of not only notifying passengers of the status of the car 3 but also outputting audio of video information. The button 33 is operated by passengers to register destination floors and open and close the doors. The camera 34 captures images inside the car 3. The authentication device 35 acquires data from passengers' ID cards, mobile terminals, and the like, enabling them to register specific destination floors.
[0014] Meanwhile, the landing 4 on each floor of the building is provided with a landing indicator 41, a speaker 42, buttons 43, a camera 44, etc. The landing indicator 41 is an output device such as an LCD monitor that outputs image data, and displays the current location of the car 3, as well as video information. The speaker 42 is an output device that outputs audio data, and is also capable of outputting audio of video information. The button 43 is operated by passengers when registering a call for the landing floor. The camera 44 is used to capture images of the landing 4.
[0015] (Configuration of Management Server) The management server 1 is placed in a monitoring center or the like located apart from the building in which the elevator is installed, and manages the elevator control devices 2 (particularly the video information control devices 22) located in the building. Although only one elevator control device 2 is shown in Fig. 1, the actual management server 1 manages multiple elevator control devices 2. Furthermore, although not shown, the management server 1 is equipped with a processor, memory, storage, and a communication unit.
[0016] In FIG. 1 , the functions executed by the processor are conceptually shown as a tenant management unit 11, a building management unit 12, and a video information data management unit 13. Programs for implementing each management unit are stored in memory. The programs may be provided in advance in a ROM or the like, or may be provided or distributed by being recorded in an installable or executable file format on a computer-readable recording medium such as a CD-ROM. Furthermore, the management server 1 has stored in its storage a tenant attribute database 14 (attribute information storage unit), a building database 15 (building information storage unit), a video information database 16 (video information data storage unit), and a provision availability database 17 (provision availability information storage unit). The communication unit is an interface for communication with the elevator control device 2, and the connection may be wireless or wired.
[0017] Here, "tenants" in this specification refer to occupants in a building, and are classified as office tenants, commercial tenants, etc. Office tenants are intended for use as offices, while commercial tenants are intended for use as stores in commercial facilities. Commercial tenants can be further classified as appropriate, such as retailers, restaurants, convenience stores, etc.
[0018] When office tenants and commercial tenants are in the same building, there are cases where users of the office tenants become customers of the commercial tenants. Therefore, a high advertising effect can be expected by providing advertisements for commercial tenants in the same building or commercial facilities located in the vicinity of the building to passengers leaving the office tenants and getting on the elevator.
[0019] <Database Configuration> As shown in Fig. 1, the management server 1 includes the following databases: a tenant attribute database 14, a building database 15, a video information database 16, and a provision availability database 17. Details of each database will be explained individually below. First, the tenant attribute database 14 will be explained using Figs. 3 to 6.
[0020] FIG. 3 is a diagram illustrating an example of shop attribute data stored in the tenant attribute database. As shown in FIG. 3, the tenant attribute database 14 stores the names of commercial tenants, store types, and target customers in association with each other. The name may be, for example, "Shop A," and the store type may be, for example, "merchandise sales." The target attributes include "female," "male," and "vulnerable road users" other than age. The target also includes a generation as an age-related attribute. Vulnerable road users are assumed to be wheelchair users and visually impaired people. In FIG. 3, particularly important customer segments are indicated by single circles as priority customer segments, tentative customer segments are indicated by triangles as expected customer segments, and segments not expected as customers are indicated by "-" as non-targets. For example, Shop B targets men in their 30s and older as its priority customer segments, and does not target women.
[0021] 4 is a diagram showing an example of convenience store attribute data stored in the tenant attribute database. As shown in FIG. 4, the tenant attribute database 14 stores the names of commercial tenants, store types, and target customers in association with each other. The name may be, for example, "Convenience Store A," and the store type may be, for example, "Convenience Store." The notation for the target customers is the same as in the case of the shop attribute data shown in FIG. 3.
[0022] 5 is a diagram showing an example of restaurant attribute data stored in the tenant attribute database. As shown in FIG. 5, the tenant attribute database 14 stores the names of commercial tenants, store types, and target customers in association with each other. The name may be, for example, "Restaurant A," and the store type may be, for example, "Food and Drink." The notation of the target customers is the same as in the case of the shop attribute data shown in FIG. 3.
[0023] FIG. 6 is a diagram showing an example of office attribute data stored in the tenant attribute database. As shown in FIG. 6, the tenant attribute database 14 stores the names of office tenants, the store types, and the people who work there, in association with each other. The name is, for example, "Office A," and the store type is, for example, "Office." In FIG. 6, a double circle symbol is used when there are an excessive number of employees, a single circle symbol is used when there are a large number of employees, a triangle symbol is used when there are a small number of employees, and a "-" is used when there are no employees. For example, Office A has a large number of male employees in their 30s, and no employees in their teens.
[0024] Next, the building database 15 will be described with reference to FIGS.
[0025] Fig. 7 is a diagram showing an example of occupancy data stored in the building database. Fig. 7 shows that building A is occupied by shop A, convenience store A, and restaurant A. Although Fig. 7 shows only the commercial tenants occupying each building, if office tenants also occupy the building, the office tenants are also stored in the building database 15.
[0026] FIG. 8 is a diagram showing an example of tenants occupying each floor of a certain building. Floor "1FL" is provided with a reception area and an entrance. Floor "2FL" is occupied by tenants Restaurant A, Convenience Store A, and Shop A. Floor "3FL" is provided with a shared conference room and is occupied by tenant Office A. Floors "4FL" to "8FL" are occupied by Offices A to D. Floors "9FL" to "10FL" are occupied by Office E.
[0027] Next, the video information database will be described. FIG. 9 is a diagram showing an example of video information data stored in the video information database. As shown in FIG. 9, in addition to the image data itself (not shown), the video information database 16 stores a number that uniquely identifies the video information, the name of the video information, and a display time, all of which are associated with each other. Furthermore, although not shown, the video information database 16 also tags information such as the attributes targeted by the video information. The display time includes whether the content is a still image or a video, and a required output time. If the content is a video, the required output time indicates the time required for one playback, i.e., the length of the video. If the content is a still image, the required output time indicates the minimum display time, and the display can be terminated at any timing once the required output time has elapsed.
[0028] For example, No. "1-1-1-1" is a video advertisement for Shop A, with a playback time of 20 seconds. No. "1-3-2-1" is a still image advertisement for Restaurant B, with a playback time of 15 seconds. Nos. "1-4-1-1" to "1-4-5-1" are cases where an office uses it as a poster or bulletin board, and the content (broadly defined advertisement) is a still image with a required output time of 15 seconds. Nos. "2-1-1-1" to "2-1-2-1" are cases where a client transmits information, and the content (broadly defined advertisement) is a video with a required output time of 20 seconds. No. "3-1-1-1" is a commercial message (CM) sold as an advertising space and specified by the purchaser. Nos. "4-1-1-1" to "4-1-1-2" are web advertisements published on the Internet.
[0029] In Figure 9, all of the video information data stored in the video information database 16 is image data (in the case of moving images, image data and audio data), but it may also include video information data that is only audio data for visually impaired people.
[0030] Next, the provision permission database 17 will be described. FIG. 10 is a diagram showing an example of the designation information stored in the provision permission database. As can be seen from FIG. 10, in building A, video information of shop A, convenience store A, and restaurant A is permitted to be provided, but video information of other shops, convenience stores, and restaurants is not permitted to be provided. The reason for this is thought to be that building A is occupied by shop A, convenience store A, and restaurant A, and there is a desire to exclude video information of other tenants who are in a competitive relationship with these tenants. Note that, as can be seen from FIG. 10, in building D, all video information is permitted to be provided, but this is thought to be because each tenant there has agreed to the provision of video information of other tenants who are in a competitive relationship.
[0031] 1, the management server 1 includes, as management units, a tenant management unit 11, a building management unit 12, and a video information data management unit 13. Details of each management unit will be described below.
[0032] The tenant management unit 11 of the management server 1 manages tenant attribute information, specifically the aforementioned tenant attribute database 14 (FIGS. 3 to 6). The tenant management unit 11 creates the attribute information for each tenant mainly based on data acquired directly from each tenant. The tenant management unit 11 can also modify the attribute information in the tenant attribute database 14 based on attributes determined from image data acquired by a camera installed in an elevator or authentication data acquired by an authentication device.
[0033] The building management unit 12 of the management server 1 manages information about tenants occupying each building, specifically the aforementioned building database 15 (FIGS. 7 and 8). The building management unit 12 creates tenant occupancy information for each building based on data acquired from the building's owner, for example, data transmitted from a terminal device used by the building's owner. If a tenant moves, the building management unit 12 modifies the occupancy information in the building database 15.
[0034] The video information data management unit 13 of the management server 1 manages the video information data accumulated for provision to each elevator, specifically the above-mentioned video information database 16 (FIG. 9). The video information data management unit 13 acquires image data for advertising from each tenant or the like who is an advertiser, and manages the acquired image data by associating it with target attributes and display time.
[0035] The video information data management unit 13 also manages designation information, specifically a provision availability database 17 (FIG. 10), set for each building, regarding whether or not each piece of video information data is to be provided. The video information data management unit 13 creates or modifies the designation information, for example, based on information transmitted from a terminal device used by the owner of each building. Furthermore, the video information data management unit 13 extracts video information data to be provided to the elevator output device from the video information database 16 based on the designation information stored in the provision availability database 17.
[0036] (Configuration of Elevator Control Device) Next, the configuration of the elevator control device 2 will be described with reference to FIG. 1. The elevator control device 2 is installed in a building where an elevator is installed and controls elevator operation and the video information provided. The elevator control device 2 also includes a processor, memory, storage, and a communication unit, all of which are not shown. In FIG. 1, the functions executed by the processor are conceptually illustrated as an operation control unit 21, an attribute determination unit 222, and a video information selection unit 223. A program for implementing each function is stored in the memory. The program may be provided by being pre-installed in a ROM or the like, or by being recorded in an installable or executable file format on a computer-readable recording medium such as a CD-ROM and provided or distributed. Furthermore, the program may be stored on a computer connected to a network and provided or distributed by being downloaded via the network. The storage includes a performance record storage unit 23, a video information storage unit 221, and the like. The communication unit is an interface for establishing a communication connection with the management server 1 and with devices installed in the car 3 and the hall 4.
[0037] When the operation control unit 21 receives registration of a landing floor through button operation at the landing 4, it controls the hoist to move the car 3 to the floor where the call is made. Furthermore, when the operation control unit 21 receives registration of a destination floor through button operation in the car 3, it controls the hoist to move the car 3 to the destination floor.
[0038] The video information control device 22 is provided separately from the operation control unit 21 and controls the video information data to be output to the output device inside the elevator 3 or at the platform 4, and is equipped with a video information storage unit 221, an attribute determination unit 222, and a video information selection unit 223.
[0039] The video information data stored in the video information storage unit 221 is extracted by the video information data management unit 13 of the management server 1 as video information data that can be provided from the video information database 16 (FIG. 9) by referring to the provision availability database 17 (FIG. 10). The video information data in the video information storage unit 221 is updated every predetermined period (for example, once a day).
[0040] The attribute determination unit 222 determines the attributes of passengers waiting for the elevator car 3, for example, based on the floor of the hall 4 where the call registration was accepted. Specifically, the attribute determination unit 222 first references the tenant attribute database 14 ( FIG. 6 ) to identify the office tenants located on the floor of the hall 4 where the call registration was accepted. While FIG. 1 illustrates a configuration in which the attribute determination unit 222 accesses the tenant attribute database 14 stored in the management server 1, a portion of the tenant attribute database 14 (e.g., attribute data related to tenants residing in the building) may be stored in the elevator control device 2. The attribute determination unit 222 then estimates the attributes of the passengers by reading the personnel composition of the identified office tenants. In this case, the attribute determination unit 222 may estimate the attributes of the passengers using information on boarding and alighting records for each time period stored in the record storage unit 23 (described later). Furthermore, the attribute determination unit 222 may determine the attributes of the passengers in the elevator car 3 based on the floor of the destination floor where the registration was accepted in the elevator car 3.
[0041] When the button for wheelchair users is pressed, the attribute determination unit 222 can determine whether the passenger is a vulnerable road user without referring to the tenant attribute database 14. The attribute determination unit 222 may determine the attributes of the passenger by analyzing images acquired by a camera installed in the elevator 3 or at the platform 4, or may determine the attributes of the passenger by using data acquired by an authentication device installed in the elevator 3.
[0042] The video information selection unit 223 compares the attributes of the passenger determined by the attribute determination unit 222 with the attributes tagged to the video information data stored in the video information storage unit 221, and selects the video information data to be output to the output device. At this time, the video information selection unit 223 may also compare the passenger's predicted boarding time until arrival at the destination floor with the time required to output the video information, and select the video information data to be output to the output device. The video information data selected by the video information selection unit 223 is edited by a drawing editing unit (not shown) into image data combined with a display of the current location of the car 3, etc., and then transmitted to the output device of the car 3 or the platform 4.
[0043] Next, the record storage unit 23 will be described. The record storage unit 23 stores the boarding and alighting records for each floor for each time period using the control results of the operation control unit 21, and also stores the output record of the video information for each time period using the selection results of the video information selection unit 223. The number of passengers boarding and alighting for each floor can be identified using changes in load data (weight of the car 3). In this case, the record storage unit 23 may also use the determination results of the attribute determination unit 222 to store the boarding and alighting records for each attribute.
[0044] As described above, according to the elevator video information providing system of this embodiment, if a tenant or the owner of the building in which the elevator is installed wishes, it is possible to exclude video information of other parties that are in a competitive relationship with the tenant. Also, if the tenant or the owner of the building agrees, it is possible to provide video information of other parties that are in a competitive relationship without excluding it.
[0045] In Example 2, the building owner can use a terminal device or the like to set the desired provision mode from among multiple modes (here, three modes: first mode, second mode, and third mode).
[0046] The first mode is a mode in which video information data corresponding to passenger attributes is provided to the output device without checking whether the video information is unavailable. When the first mode is set, the video information data management unit 13 of the management server 1 extracts any video information data from the video information database 16 without referring to the provision availability database 17 (i.e., without based on the specified information) and transmits it to the elevator control device 2. In this case, the video information data management unit 13 transmits not only video information data related to tenants in the building where the elevator is installed, but also video information data related to commercial tenants located around the building, as well as the aforementioned commercials and web advertisements. Therefore, video information of other parties competing with the tenants in the building may be stored in the video information storage unit 221 of the elevator control device 2 and provided from the output device. In other words, the first mode is suitable for cases in which the building owner or each tenant wants to prioritize the provision of video information that matches the passenger attributes without excluding video information provided by other parties in a competing relationship.
[0047] The second mode corresponds to the video information provision method described in the first embodiment, and provides video information data corresponding to the passenger's attributes to the output device while checking whether the video information is unavailable. When the second mode is set, the video information data management unit 13 of the management server 1 references the provision availability database 17 (based on the specified information), extracts video information data that is available from the video information database 16, and transmits it to the elevator control device 2. Therefore, video information of other parties that are in competition with tenants in the building is not included in the video information storage unit 221 of the elevator control device 2 and is unlikely to be provided from the output device. In other words, the second mode is suitable for cases where the building owner or each tenant wants to exclude other parties from providing video information that is in competition with them.
[0048] The third mode is a mode in which video information data pre-selected by the client or the like is provided to the output device randomly or in order of priority, regardless of the attributes of the passengers. When the third mode is set, the video information data management unit 13 of the management server 1 may refer to the provision availability database 17 (based on the specified information), extract video information data that is permitted to be provided from the video information database 16, and transmit the extracted video information data to the elevator control device 2. The third mode is suitable for cases in which the client or the like wants to give priority to the provision of desired video information.
[0049] 11 is a flowchart for selecting a video information provision mode. As shown in FIG. 11, the building management unit 12 first checks whether occupancy data for the building in which the target elevator is installed is stored in the building database 15 (step S111). If building occupancy data is not stored, video information data is output according to a fourth mode described below (step S118).
[0050] If it is determined in step S111 that building occupancy data is stored, the video information data management unit 13 determines whether the first mode is set (step S112). If the first mode is set, the video information data management unit 13 outputs the video information data in accordance with the first mode (step S113). At this time, the video information data management unit 13 transmits the video information data to the elevator control device 2 without referring to the provision availability database 17. Furthermore, if a landing floor or destination floor is registered, the video information selection unit 223 of the elevator control device 2 compares the attributes of the passenger with the attributes of the video information data and selects the video information data to be output to the output device.
[0051] If it is determined in step S112 that the first mode is not set, the video information data management unit 13 determines whether the second mode is set (step S114). If the second mode is set, the video information data management unit 13 outputs the video information data in accordance with the second mode (step S115). At this time, the video information data management unit 13 refers to the provision availability database 17 and transmits the video information data that is available to the elevator control device 2. Furthermore, if a landing floor or destination floor is registered, the video information selection unit 223 of the elevator control device 2 compares the attributes of the passenger with the attributes of the video information data and selects the video information data to be output to the output device.
[0052] If it is determined in step S114 that the second mode is not set, the video information data management unit 13 determines whether the third mode is set (step S116). If the third mode is set, the video information data is output in accordance with the third mode (step S117). At this time, if a landing floor or a destination floor is registered, the video information selection unit 223 of the elevator control device 2 outputs pre-selected video information data to the output device, for example, randomly, without comparing the passenger attributes with the attributes of the video information data.
[0053] If it is determined in step S116 that the third mode is not set, the video information data is output in accordance with the fourth mode (step S118). In the fourth mode, the video information data management unit 13 transmits the video information data to the elevator control device 2 without referring to the provision possibility database 17. Furthermore, if a landing floor or a destination floor is registered, the video information selection unit 223 of the elevator control device 2 outputs the video information data stored in the video information storage unit 221 to the output device, for example, randomly, without matching the attributes of the passenger with the attributes of the video information data.
[0054] It should be noted that the present invention is not limited to the above-described embodiments, and various modifications are included. For example, in the above-described first embodiment, only the video information data extracted by the video information data management unit 13 as available for provision is stored in the video information storage unit 221, but video information data that cannot be provided may also be stored in the video information storage unit 221. In this case, designation information regarding whether or not the data can be provided is stored in the video information control device 22, and the video information selection unit 223 selects the available video information data by referring to the designation information.
