Description

Power supply device, power receiving device and charging method

[0001] This application claims priority to the Chinese patent application filed with the State Intellectual Property Office on September 28, 2023, with application number 2023112876769 and application name “A power supply device, a power receiving device and a charging method”, the entire contents of which are incorporated by reference into this application. Technical Field

[0002] The present application relates to the technical field of device power supply, and in particular to a power supply device, a power receiving device, and a charging method. Background Art

[0003] Power supply equipment provides power signals to powered devices to ensure their normal operation. However, different powered devices require different power signal parameters. Providing power signals with incompatible parameters may damage the power supply equipment and / or the powered device, and may even damage the device network and cause fires. To ensure power supply safety, dedicated power supply equipment can be used to provide power signals with fixed parameters, specifically for specific powered devices. However, in actual applications, users often use power supply equipment to power different powered devices. In this case, there is a high possibility that the power signal actually provided by the power supply equipment will not match the power signal parameters required by a specific powered device, resulting in power supply safety issues. When a power supply equipment includes multiple power supply interfaces and needs to power multiple powered devices, the probability of power supply safety issues is even greater.

[0004] One solution involves setting up a power manager for each power interface and a corresponding power manager in the powered device. Interaction between the power managers allows for authentication of the powered device and negotiation of power parameters, thereby ensuring power security and reliability. However, this approach increases device cost and area, especially when the power supply device includes multiple power interfaces. Each interface requires a corresponding power manager, which increases device cost and area.

[0005] Summary of the Invention

[0006] The embodiments of the present application provide a power supply device, a powered device, and a charging method, which reduce the device cost and device area overhead of the device while ensuring the safety and reliability of power supply.

[0007] To achieve the above objectives, the embodiments of the present application adopt the following technical solutions:

[0008] In a first aspect, a power supply device is provided, comprising a power supply interface. The power supply device is configured to: in response to a powered device being coupled to the power supply interface, transmit a first electrical signal to the powered device via the power supply interface; and receive a second electrical signal from the powered device via the power supply interface. The second electrical signal is the first electrical signal after transmission through the powered device. When characteristic electrical signal parameters of the second electrical signal are within a preset range, the power supply signal is transmitted to the powered device via the power supply interface. The characteristic electrical signal parameters are electrical signal parameters affected by the transmission characteristics of the powered device.

[0009] In an embodiment of the present application, the powered device changes the characteristic electrical signal parameters of the first electrical signal, thereby causing changes to the characteristic electrical signal parameters of the first electrical signal within a predictable range. The power supply device sends a first electrical signal to the powered device and receives a second electrical signal from the powered device after transmission through the powered device. When the characteristic electrical signal parameters of the first electrical signal are known, by determining whether the characteristic electrical signal parameters of the second electrical signal are within a preset range, it can be determined whether the powered device is an authenticated powered device. If the characteristic electrical signal parameters of the second electrical signal are within the preset range, it can be determined that the corresponding powered device is an authenticated powered device, and a power supply signal can be provided to the powered device. The above embodiment can achieve hardware-based power supply identification and negotiation between the powered device and the power supply device, avoiding the use of a power manager for power supply identification and negotiation between the powered device and the power supply device, thereby improving the security and reliability of power supply while reducing device cost and device area overhead.

[0010] In one possible embodiment, the characteristic electrical signal parameters of the second electrical signal are also used to indicate the power receiving parameters of the powered device. The power supply device is further configured to determine the magnitude of the power supply parameters of the power supply signal based on the characteristic electrical signal parameters of the second electrical signal. In an embodiment of the present application, the transmission characteristics of the powered device can be designed so that changes in the characteristic electrical signal parameters during the transmission of the first electrical signal through the powered device can also be used to indicate the power receiving parameters of the powered device. The power supply device determines the power receiving parameters of the powered device based on the characteristic electrical signal parameters of the second electrical signal and generates a power supply signal corresponding to the power supply parameters. The above embodiment can improve the matching degree between the power supply signal and the power supply of powered devices in different application scenarios or different models, thereby improving the working efficiency of the powered device and improving the operational reliability and safety.

[0011] In one possible implementation, the characteristic electrical signal parameters include at least one of the following: a phase variation characteristic, an amplitude variation characteristic, and a frequency variation characteristic. In this embodiment of the present application, during transmission of the first electrical signal within the powered device, at least one of the phase, amplitude, or frequency of the first electrical signal can be altered to indicate the device identification and / or power receiving parameters of the powered device based on the altered parameter characteristics. The corresponding characteristic parameters can be selected based on the actual application scenario.

[0012] In one possible implementation, the characteristic electrical signal parameters include at least one of a time-varying characteristic or a noise characteristic. In an embodiment of the present application, in addition to changing the signal characteristics of the first electrical signal, the transmission time of the first electrical signal may also be changed. Or the distinguishing characteristics generated by the transmission time during the transmission of the first electrical signal in the powered device may be detected to realize the identification of the device and / or the powered parameters. In addition, some interference noise signals may be added to the first electrical signal to realize the identification of the device and / or the powered parameters through the interference noise signals. The above implementation can increase the accuracy and difference of the power supply identification negotiation, and at the same time, it can also enable this method to adapt to different application scenarios with more identification methods.

[0013] In one possible implementation, a power supply device includes multiple power supply interfaces, each of which is configured to couple to multiple corresponding powered devices. In this embodiment of the present application, a single power supply device can power multiple powered devices. In this case, power identification and negotiation between the power supply device and the multiple powered devices is implemented based on the hardware transmission characteristics of the powered devices, thereby reducing the number of power managers required. This implementation improves power supply reliability and security in scenarios where a single power supply device supplies power to multiple powered devices, while reducing device cost and area overhead.

[0014] In one possible implementation, the power interface includes a power pin and a detection pin. The power supply device transmits a power signal to the powered device via the power pin; the power supply device receives a second electrical signal from the powered device via the detection pin. In this embodiment of the present application, the power supply device can transmit the power signal and the second electrical signal via different pins to ensure, for example, the accuracy of power identification and negotiation processing.

[0015] In one possible implementation, the power supply device transmits a first electrical signal to the powered device via a power pin. In embodiments of the present application, the power pin can be reused to transmit both the power signal and the first electrical signal. This reduces the number of pins required and improves integration. Furthermore, in some scenarios, an existing interface can be directly used as the power interface without requiring modification. In other scenarios, simply adding a detection pin to the existing interface suffices, reducing the number of new pins.

[0016] In one possible implementation, the power supply device further includes an excitation pin, through which the power supply device transmits a first electrical signal to the powered device. In this embodiment of the present application, separate pins can be used to transmit the power supply signal and the first electrical signal. This increases the reliability of the transmission of the different signals and reduces the amount of data required to process the second electrical signal.

[0017] In one possible embodiment, the power supply device further includes an excitation signal source, a control circuit, and a power supply. The control circuit is coupled to the power supply interface and the power supply, respectively; the power supply is coupled to the power supply interface. The excitation signal source is configured to send a first electrical signal to the powered device via the power supply interface. The control circuit is configured to input a second electrical signal from the power supply interface; when a characteristic electrical signal parameter of the second electrical signal is within a preset range, output a first control signal to the power supply via the power supply interface; the first control signal is configured to instruct the powered device to be supplied with power. The power supply is configured to send a power supply signal to the powered device via the power supply interface based on the first control signal. In this embodiment of the present application, a determined first electrical signal can be provided by the excitation signal source. The control circuit processes the second electrical signal and completes power supply identification negotiation with the powered device. Then, based on the result of the power supply identification negotiation, a first control signal is output to the power supply. The first control signal is used to control the power supply output by the power supply. Furthermore, the first control signal can also be used to control the power supply parameters of the power supply signal output by the power supply.

[0018] In one possible implementation, the control circuit is a power manager. In the embodiment of the present application, when the power manager is used as the control circuit, compared with using other processors as the control circuit, the data processing amount can be reduced and the efficiency of power supply identification and negotiation can be improved.

[0019] In a second aspect, embodiments of the present application further provide a powered device, comprising a transmission characteristic circuit and a powered interface. The input and output of the transmission characteristic circuit are respectively coupled to the powered interface. The powered device is configured to: receive a first electrical signal from a power supply device via the powered interface based on the input of the transmission characteristic circuit; and transmit the first electrical signal via the transmission characteristic circuit. Based on the output of the transmission characteristic circuit, transmit a second electrical signal to the powered device via the powered interface; the second electrical signal is the first electrical signal after transmission by the transmission characteristic circuit; and the transmission characteristics of the transmission characteristic circuit are configured to modify characteristic electrical signal parameters of the first electrical signal to obtain the second electrical signal. The powered device receives a power signal from the powered device via the powered interface. In embodiments of the present application, a transmission characteristic circuit is provided in the powered device, and the transmission characteristic circuit transmits the first electrical signal and outputs a second electrical signal. The transmission characteristics of the transmission characteristic circuit are designed to modify the characteristic electrical signal parameters of the first electrical signal to obtain the second electrical signal. The characteristic electrical signal parameters of the second electrical signal can be used to indicate a device identification of the powered device. The device identification of the powered device indicates whether the powered device is an authenticated powered device. After receiving the second electrical signal, the power supply device determines that the powered device is an authenticated powered device based on the second electrical signal and provides a power supply signal to the powered device. The powered device then receives the power supply signal and operates normally.

[0028] In a possible implementation, the characteristic electrical signal parameter of the second electrical signal is further used to indicate a power receiving parameter of the powered device. [0052] It should be noted that the terms "first", "second", etc. involved in the embodiments of the present application are only used to distinguish features of the same type and cannot be understood as indicating relative importance, quantity, order, etc.

[0053] The terms "exemplary" or "for example" in the embodiments of this application are used to indicate examples, illustrations, or descriptions. Any embodiment or design described in this application as "exemplary" or "for example" should not be construed as being preferred or advantageous over other embodiments or designs. Rather, the use of words such as "exemplary" or "for example" is intended to present the relevant concepts in a concrete manner.

[0054] The terms "coupling" and "connection" involved in the embodiments of this application should be understood in a broad sense. For example, they may refer to a physical direct connection, or an indirect connection achieved through electronic devices, such as a connection achieved through resistors, inductors, capacitors or other electronic devices.

[0055] An embodiment of the present application provides a device network, which includes a power supply device and a powered device.

[0056] In some possible implementations, when a device network includes multiple powered devices, the device network may be a first device network employing a chain-like structure. As shown in FIG1 , a first device network 1000A in a chain-like structure includes multiple powered devices 200. These multiple powered devices 200 are connected in a cascaded chain. The power supply device 100 supplies power to the first-stage powered device 200 in the chain. Within the cascade of multiple powered devices 200, the previous powered device 200 supplies power to the next-stage powered device 200. However, in this implementation, if one of the multiple cascaded powered devices 200 fails, it will affect the normal operation of the subsequent powered devices 200. Therefore, the operational reliability and security of the first device network 1000A in the chain-like structure are low, and independent operation of the multiple powered devices 200 cannot be guaranteed.

[0057] In some possible implementations, when a device network includes multiple powered devices, the device network can be a second device network employing a star structure. As shown in FIG2 , multiple powered devices 200 are provided in the second device network 1000B in a star structure. The power supply device 100 includes multiple power supply interfaces, which are coupled to the multiple powered devices 200 via the multiple power supply interfaces to provide power signals to the multiple powered devices 200.

[0058] In some possible implementations, in the embodiments shown in Figures 1 and 2, the power supply device 100 is a first power supply device that does not include a power manager, and the powered device 200 is a first powered device that does not include a power manager. As shown in Figure 3, the first power supply device 100A includes multiple first power supply interfaces 110A and a first power supply 120A. The first power supply 120A is coupled to each of the multiple first power supply interfaces 110A. The first powered device 200A includes a first powered interface 210A and at least one first power receiver 220A. The at least one power receiver 220A is coupled to the first powered interface 210A. Each first powered device 200A is coupled to a first powered interface 110A of the first power supply device 100A via the first powered interface 210A. In this embodiment of the present application, the first power supply 120A of the first power supply device 100A generates a power supply signal based on fixed power supply parameters and transmits the power supply signal to the first powered device 120A via the corresponding first powered interface 110A. After receiving the power signal, the first power receiving interface 210A in the first powered device 120A transmits the power signal to one or more corresponding first powered devices 220A, thereby enabling the first powered devices 220A to receive power. In the embodiment shown in Figure 3 , matching power supply parameters are designed for the certified powered devices 200, and the first power supply 120A outputs a power signal with these designed power parameters to power the certified powered devices 200. However, this solution only applies when all first powered devices 200A are certified powered devices 200. When the first powered device 200A coupled to the first power supply interface 110A is a non-certified powered device 200, the power supply parameters of the power supply signal output by the first power supply interface 110A may not match those of the non-certified powered device 200, which may lead to power supply safety issues. For example, the power supply line may spark, generate arcs, or the power supply signal may be too large to damage the non-certified powered device 200. Alternatively, the non-certified powered device 200 may have a large power drive requirement, thereby increasing the voltage or current of the power supply signal and damaging the first power supply 120A of the first power supply device 100A.

[0059] To address the power supply security issues associated with direct power supply in the embodiment shown in FIG3 , the power supply device 100 can be a second power supply device including a power manager, and the powered device 200 can be a second powered device also including a power manager. As shown in FIG4 , the second power supply device 100B includes a second power supply interface 110B, a second power supply 120B, and a first power manager 130B. The first power manager 130B is coupled to the second power supply interface 110B and the second power supply 120B, respectively. The second powered device 200B includes a second power receiving interface 210B, at least one second power receiver 220B, and a second power manager 230B. After the second powered device 200B is coupled to the second power supply interface 210B of the second power supply device 100B via the second power receiving interface 210B, the first power manager 130B begins exchanging device identity information with the second power manager 230B to determine whether the second powered device 200B is an authenticated powered device. After confirming that the second powered device 200B is a certified powered device, the first power manager 130B can control the second power supply 120B to generate a power supply signal that matches the certified powered device. In this embodiment of the present application, by providing the first power manager 130B in the second power supply device 100B and the corresponding second power manager 230B in the second powered device 200B, power supply negotiation and identification between the second power supply device 100B and the second powered device 200B is performed at the software level based on the relevant power supply protocol, thereby avoiding power supply security issues associated with powering non-certified powered devices. However, this implementation increases the component costs of the second power supply device 100B and the second powered device 200B, and the power manager also occupies a certain device area overhead. Furthermore, when multiple second power supply interfaces 110B are provided in the second power supply device 100B to supply power to multiple second powered devices 200B, in order to ensure the stability of each second powered device 200B, multiple first power managers 130B need to be provided to respectively perform power supply negotiation and identification with different second powered devices 200B. In this case, the device cost and device area overhead will be increased.

[0060] To improve power supply security and reliability without significantly increasing device cost and area overhead, in some possible implementations, the power supply device 100 may be a third power supply device that implements power negotiation identification based on the hardware transmission characteristics of the powered device 200, and the powered device 200 may be a third powered device that implements power negotiation identification based on the hardware transmission characteristics. As shown in Figure 5, the third power supply device 100C includes a third power supply interface 110C. The third powered device 200C includes a third power receiving interface 210C, at least one third power receiver 220C, and a transmission characteristic circuit 230C. The third power receiving interface 210C is coupled to the at least one third power receiver 220C, the input of the transmission characteristic circuit 230C, and the output of the transmission characteristic circuit 230C, respectively. Herein,

[0061] The third power supply device 100C is configured to send a first electrical signal to the third powered receiving device 200C through the third power supply interface 110C in response to the third powered receiving device 200C being coupled to the third power supply interface 110C.

[0062] The third powered device 200C is configured to: receive a first electrical signal from the third power supply device 100C via the third power receiving interface 210C based on the input of the transmission characteristic circuit 230C; and transmit the first electrical signal via the transmission characteristic circuit 230C. Based on the output of the transmission characteristic circuit 230C, the third powered device 200C is configured to send a second electrical signal to the third power supply device 100C via the third power receiving interface 210C. The second electrical signal is the first electrical signal after being transmitted by the transmission characteristic circuit 230C. The transmission characteristics of the transmission characteristic circuit 230C are used to modify characteristic electrical signal parameters of the first electrical signal to produce the second electrical signal.

[0063] The third power supply device 100C is further configured to receive a second electrical signal from the third powered device 200C via the third power interface 110C and send a power signal to the third powered device 200C via the third power interface 110C when the characteristic electrical signal parameter of the second electrical signal is within a preset range.

[0064] The third powered device 200C is further configured to receive a power supply signal from the third power supply device 100C through the third power receiving interface 210C.

[0065] In the embodiment of the present application, as shown in FIG5 , a transmission characteristic circuit 230C is provided in the third powered device 200C. After the third power supply interface 110C of the third power supply device 100C is coupled to the third power receiving interface 210C of the third powered device 200C, the third power supply device 100C transmits a first electrical signal to the input of the transmission characteristic circuit 230C of the third powered device 200C via the third power supply interface 110C. After the first electrical signal is transmitted by the transmission characteristic circuit 230C, a second electrical signal, influenced by the transmission characteristic circuit 230C, is fed back to the third power supply device 100C via the output of the transmission characteristic circuit 230C and the third power receiving interface 210C. During this process, the transmission characteristic circuit 230C affects the characteristic electrical signal parameters of the first electrical signal, thereby generating the second electrical signal. Therefore, for the certified third powered device 200C, a transmission characteristic circuit 230C of a corresponding model is designed. The designed transmission characteristic circuit 230C can cause changes in the characteristic electrical signal parameters of the first electrical signal within a predictable range. The third power supply device 100C receives the second electrical signal transmitted by the transmission characteristic circuit 230C. Given the characteristic electrical signal parameters of the first electrical signal, the third power receiving device 200C can be determined to be a certified powered device by determining whether the characteristic electrical signal parameters of the second electrical signal are within a preset range. If the characteristic electrical signal parameters of the second electrical signal are within the preset range, the corresponding third power receiving device 200C is determined to be a certified powered device, and the third power supply device 100C can provide a power signal to it. The device cost and device area overhead of the transmission characteristic circuit 230C are significantly lower than those of a power manager. By providing the transmission characteristic circuit 230C, this embodiment of the present application can reduce the configuration of the relevant power manager in the powered device, thereby reducing device costs. Based on the embodiment shown in FIG. 5 , this embodiment of the present application can improve the safety and reliability of power supply while reducing device cost and device area.

[0066] In some possible implementations, the transmission characteristics of the transmission characteristic circuit 230C are also used to indicate the power receiving parameters of the third powered device 200C. In this case, the characteristic electrical signal parameters of the second electrical signal are also used to indicate the power receiving parameters of the third powered device 200C. The third power supply device 100C is further configured to determine the magnitude of the power supply parameters of the power supply signal based on the characteristic electrical signal parameters of the second electrical signal. In this embodiment of the present application, by designing the transmission characteristics of the transmission characteristic circuit 230C, different values of the characteristic electrical signal parameters of the second electrical signal can be used to correspond to different power receiving parameters of the third powered device 200C. The third power supply device 100C determines the power receiving parameters of the third powered device 200C based on the values of the characteristic electrical signal parameters corresponding to the actual received second electrical signal, and outputs a power supply signal corresponding to the magnitude of the power supply parameters based on the power receiving parameters, so that the output power signal can adapt to different models or application scenarios of the third powered device 200C.

[0067] In some possible implementations, the characteristic electrical signal parameter includes at least one of the following: a phase change characteristic, an amplitude change characteristic, and a frequency change characteristic.

[0068] In some possible implementations, the characteristic electrical signal parameter includes at least one of a time variation characteristic or a noise characteristic.

[0069] In some possible implementations, the transmission characteristic circuit 230C includes at least one of the following components: an equivalent capacitor, an equivalent resistor, and an equivalent inductor. In the embodiments of the present application, the transmission characteristic circuit 230C can be designed using capacitors, resistors, inductors, and other components that can be equivalent to capacitors, resistors, and inductors, so that the transmission characteristic circuit 230C can change the aforementioned characteristic electrical signal parameters.

[0070] For example, as shown in FIG6 , the transmission characteristic circuit 230C includes a capacitor as an example. In FIG6 (a), multiple grounded capacitors are connected to the transmission path, which can increase the phase of the first electrical signal and obtain a second electrical signal with a larger phase. In FIG6 (b), multiple capacitors in parallel can reduce the phase of the first electrical signal and obtain a second electrical signal with a smaller phase. At the same time, the capacitors in FIG6 (a) and FIG6 (b) can also be combined to adjust the phase of the first electrical signal.

[0071] For example, multiple resistors may be connected in series and / or in parallel to obtain load circuits with different loads, thereby achieving functions such as voltage division, etc., and generating corresponding amplitude changes, frequency responses, etc. for the first electrical signal.

[0072] Exemplarily, an inductor is provided in the transmission characteristic circuit 230C. The inductor may be connected in series and / or in parallel, and may generate a corresponding frequency response, time delay, etc. for the first electrical signal.

[0073] For example, in the transmission characteristic circuit 230C, devices such as capacitors, resistors, or inductors may be used. Other devices may also be used to equivalently form capacitors, resistors, or inductors. For example, metal plates or metal wires within the device may be used to equivalently form a capacitor structure. Cables within the device may be used to equivalently form resistive loads, inductive loads, etc. Transmission lines, microstrip lines, impedance transformation lines, etc. may be used to equivalently form the impedance characteristics and transmission characteristics of capacitors, resistors, or inductors.

[0074] In some examples, the third power receiver 220C may be a power storage device in the third powered device 200C. In some examples, the third power receiver 220C may be a working device in the third powered device 200C, such as a data processing device, a control device, or a detection device.

[0075] In some possible implementations, as shown in FIG7 , the third power supply interface 110C includes a power supply pin 111C and a detection pin 112C. The third power supply device 100C transmits a power supply signal to the third powered receiving device 200C via the power supply pin 111C. The third power supply device 100C receives a second electrical signal from the third powered receiving device 200C via the detection pin 112C. The third power receiving interface 210C includes a power receiving pin 211C and a feedback pin 212C. The third powered receiving device 200C receives a power supply signal from the third power supply device 100C via the power receiving pin 211C. The third powered receiving device 200C transmits the second electrical signal to the third powered receiving device 200C via the feedback pin 212C. In this embodiment of the present application, the third power supply device 100C and the third powered receiving device 200C transmit power signals via the power supply pin 111C and the power receiving pin 211C. The third power supply device 100C and the third powered device 200C transmit power supply signals via the detection pin 112C and the feedback pin 212C.

[0076] In some possible implementations, the third power supply device 100C and the third powered device 200C can reuse the power signal transmission path to transmit the first electrical signal. As shown in Figure 7, the third power supply device 100C transmits the first electrical signal to the third powered device 200C via the power pin 111C. The third powered device 200C receives the first electrical signal from the third power supply device 100C via the power pin 211C. In some examples, the power signal and the first electrical signal can be transmitted at different times. In some examples, the power signal and the first electrical signal can be signals of different frequencies, transmitted over the same transmission path but independently and without interfering with each other. For example, when the power signal voltage is 220V, the power signal frequency is 50Hz. The first electrical signal can be a signal with a frequency greater than 50Hz, such as a frequency of several thousand Hz or higher. The two signals are transmitted to the third powered device 200C through the power supply pin 111C and the power receiving pin 211C. Then, the transmission characteristic circuit 230C inside the third powered device 200C receives the first electrical signal, and the third power receiver 220C inside the third powered device 200C receives the power signal.

[0077] In some possible implementations, different transmission paths are used between the third power supply device 100C and the third powered device 200C to transmit the power supply signal and the first electrical signal, respectively. As shown in FIG8 , the third power supply device 100C further includes a first excitation pin 113C, through which the third power supply device 100C transmits the first electrical signal to the third powered device 200C. The third power receiving interface 210C of the third powered device 200C further includes a second excitation pin 213C, through which the third powered device 200C receives the first electrical signal from the third power supply device 100C. In the embodiment of the present application, different transmission paths are used to transmit the power supply signal and the first electrical signal, respectively, and the transmission of the power supply signal and the first electrical signal is completely independent. In actual applications, the power supply pin 111C, the detection pin 112C, and the first excitation pin 113C can be integrated into a single terminal in the third power supply interface 110C, and transmitted via a cable comprising multiple leads. Alternatively, the power supply pin 111C, the detection pin 112C, and the first excitation pin 113C may be arranged on different terminals in the third power supply interface 110C, and transmitted separately by multiple independent cables.

[0078] In some possible embodiments, as shown in Figures 7 and 8, the third power supply device 100C further includes a third power supply 120C, an excitation signal source 130C, and a control circuit 140C. The control circuit 140C is coupled to the third power supply interface 110C and the third power supply 120C, respectively. The third power supply 120C is coupled to the third power supply interface 110C. The excitation signal source 130C is configured to send a first electrical signal to the third powered device 200C via the third power supply interface 110C. The control circuit 140C is configured to receive a second electrical signal from the third power supply interface 110C. When a characteristic electrical signal parameter of the second electrical signal is within a preset range, the control circuit 140C outputs a first control signal to the third power supply 120C via the third power supply interface 110C; the first control signal is configured to instruct the third powered device 200C to be supplied with power. The third power supply 120C is configured to send a power supply signal to the third powered device 200C via the third power supply interface 110C based on the first control signal.

[0079] For example, as shown in Figure 7, a third power supply 120C provides a power supply signal to at least one third power receiver 120C within a third powered device 200C via a power supply pin 111C. An excitation signal source 130C transmits a first electrical signal to an input of a transmission characteristic circuit 230C within the third powered device 200C via the power supply pin 111C. A control circuit 140C receives a second electrical signal from the third powered device 200C via a detection pin 112C. In some examples, when a characteristic electrical signal parameter of the second electrical signal is within a preset range, the control circuit 140C outputs a first control signal to the third power supply 120C, instructing the third power supply 120C to supply power to the third powered device 200C. In some examples, when the characteristic electrical signal parameter of the second electrical signal is also used to indicate the power receiving parameter of the third powered device 200C, the control circuit 140C outputs a first control signal to the third power supply 120C. The first control signal is used to instruct the third power supply 120C to supply power to the third powered device 200C. The first control signal is also used to indicate the power supply parameter of the power supply signal. Based on the first control signal, the third power supply 120C outputs a power supply signal corresponding to the power supply parameter (or power receiving parameter) to the corresponding power supply pin 111C to supply power to the third powered device 200C.

[0080] In some examples, the control circuit 140C may be a processor. In some examples, the control circuit 140C may be a power management chip. In an embodiment of the present application, a processor for controlling may be used as the control circuit 140C to process the second electrical signal and generate a related first control signal to control the generation of the power supply signal. However, implementing the analysis of the parameters of the characteristic electrical signal of the second electrical signal in the processor requires a certain amount of data, and as the complexity of the characteristic electrical signal parameters increases, the amount of data processing will also increase. When a power management chip is used as the control circuit 140C, general power supply equipment is integrated with one or more power management chips, and the power management chip can be used directly to implement the above-mentioned control function without the need for additional control devices. Moreover, the power management chip itself can parse and obtain some electrical signal parameters, and the power management chip is used to parse the electrical signal parameters, and the amount of data processed is small.

[0081] In some possible implementations, as shown in FIG9 , the second device network 1000B includes multiple third powered devices 200C. The third power supply device 100C includes multiple third power supply interfaces 110C; these multiple third power supply interfaces 110C are configured to couple with corresponding multiple third powered devices 200C. In this embodiment of the present application, when the third power supply device 100C includes multiple third power supply interfaces 110C, the multiple third powered devices 200C in the second device network 1000B utilize a transmission signature circuit 230C for power supply negotiation and identification. In this case, none of the multiple third powered devices 200C in the second device network 1000B require a power manager, thereby reducing device cost and area overhead.

[0082] In some examples, when the second device network 1000B is applied to some more sophisticated or important scenarios, or when the power supply requirements of multiple third powered devices 200C are large, the third power supply device 100C can be provided with a corresponding excitation signal source 130C and a control circuit 140C for each third power supply interface 110C to ensure the stability and reliability of power supply to each third powered device 200C as much as possible.

[0083] In some examples, as shown in FIG10 , an excitation signal source 130C can be used to provide a first electrical signal to multiple different third power supply interfaces 110C. One or more control circuits 140C are used to receive corresponding second electrical signals from multiple third power supply interfaces 110C. In an embodiment of the present application, when a transmission feature circuit 230C is used in the third powered device 200C to implement power supply identification negotiation, etc., the control circuit 140C does not need to perform power supply protocol negotiation interaction at the software level, but only needs to parse the second electrical signal. In this case, one or more control circuits 140C can be used to process multiple second electrical signals without having to configure a corresponding power manager for each powered device. In this way, by having one control circuit 140C parse the second electrical signals received by two or more third power supply interfaces 110C, the reliability and safety of the power supply can be improved while reducing the device cost and device area overhead of the third power supply device 100C.

[0084] In some examples, as shown in FIG11 , an excitation signal source 130C can be used to provide a first electrical signal to a third power supply interface 110C. The third power supply interface 110C is coupled to multiple third powered devices 200C via a shunt connector X1. The transmission characteristic circuits 230C of the multiple third powered devices 200C change the characteristic electrical signal parameters of the first electrical signal in a consistent manner. When the first excitation pin 113C or the power supply pin 111C of the third powered interface 110C transmits the first electrical signal to the third powered interfaces 210C of the multiple third powered devices 200C via the shunt connector X1, the transmission characteristic circuit 230C of each third powered device 200C, after receiving the first electrical signal, transmits a corresponding second electrical signal to the shunt connector X1 via the feedback pin 212C. The shunt connector X1 transmits the multiple second electrical signals to the detection pin 112C of the third power supply device 100C. The control circuit 140C determines whether to output a power supply signal based on whether characteristic electrical signal parameters of the electrical signal resulting from the combination of the multiple second electrical signals are within a preset range. In this embodiment of the present application, multiple authenticated third powered devices 200C can receive power through the same third power interface 110C. When one or more of the multiple third powered devices 200C fail, the failed third powered device 200C can automatically stop receiving power. However, because the transmission characteristic circuit 230C of the failed third powered device 200C is a hardware circuit, it is not affected by the control plane. When a third powered device 200C fails or is powered off, the corresponding transmission characteristic circuit 230C can still receive the first electrical signal sent by the third power supply device 100C and feedback the second electrical signal. In this case, multiple third powered devices 200C are coupled to the same third power interface 110C. Failure of any third powered device 200C will not affect the power supply identification and negotiation process performed by the third power supply device 100C, nor will it affect the normal operation of other third powered devices 200C. This embodiment of the present application can reduce the number of third power supply interfaces 110C, excitation signal sources 130C, and control circuits 140C. When multiple certified third powered devices 200C reuse the same third power supply interface 110C, a failure of one certified third powered device 200C will not affect the normal operation of other certified third powered devices 200C. This ensures power supply reliability and security while reducing the device cost and area overhead of the third power supply device 100C.

[0085] In some possible implementations, the first device network 1000A or the second device network 1000B may be a base station communication network, a laboratory equipment network, a large workstation network, a smart home network, a terminal device network, etc.

[0086] For example, when the first device network 1000A or the second device network 1000B is a base station communication network, the third power supply device 100C can be a dedicated power supply device. The third powered device 200C can be a transmission and reception point (TRP), a remote radio unit (RRU) of a separate base station, an active antenna unit (AAU), a baseband unit (BBU) (also known as a digital unit (DU)), a broadband network gateway (BNG), an aggregation switch, a non-3GPP access device, a relay station, or an access point.

[0087] For example, when the first device network 1000A or the second device network 1000B is a smart home network, the third power supply device 100C can be a dedicated power supply device or a smart home management device. The third powered device 200C can be a router, a computer, a refrigerator, a monitor, etc.

[0088] For example, when the first device network 1000A or the second device network 1000B is a base station communication network or a smart home network, the third power supply interface 110C and the third power receiving interface 210C may be integrated network cables, such as RJ45 connectors, with a pin for transmitting the second electrical signal integrated into the RJ454 as a detection pin 112C or a feedback pin 212C. Alternatively, the third power supply interface 110C and the third power receiving interface 210C may be direct current (DC) plugs, etc.

[0089] For example, when the first device network 1000A or the second device network 1000B is a terminal device network, the third power supply device 100C can be a dedicated power supply device or an electronic processing device with power supply functionality. For example, the third power supply device 100C can be a laptop computer, desktop computer, tablet computer, mobile phone, smart display screen, host computer chassis, speakers, etc. The third powered device 200C can be a laptop computer, mobile phone, smartwatch, tablet computer, electronic pen, display screen, speakers, wireless headset box, VR glasses, etc. In this case, the third power supply device 100C and the third powered device 200C can be USB ports, DC power plugs, RJ45 ports, etc. For example, a Type-C port within a USB port can be used. In some examples, the Type-C port has a bisymmetrical structure, with the pins on one side of the Type-C port being symmetrically duplicated to facilitate transceiver functionality. One CC pin of the double-sided Type-C interface can be used as a detection pin 112C and a feedback pin 212C to transmit a first electrical signal, and the other CC pin of the double-sided Type-C interface can be used as a first excitation pin 113C and a second excitation pin 213C to transmit a second electrical signal. The VBUS pin of the Type-C interface can be used as a power supply pin 111C and a power receiving pin 211C to transmit a power supply signal.

[0090] In some possible scenarios, when the third power supply interface 110C of the third power supply device 100C is coupled to the power receiving interface of a powered device that does not include the transmission signature circuit 230C, the third power supply interface 110C may not receive the second electrical signal, or the detection pin 112C of the third power supply interface 110C may receive an electrical signal other than the second electrical signal. In this case, the third power supply device 100C may not provide a power supply signal to the powered device that does not include the transmission signature circuit 230C, or may provide a power supply signal lower than that of the third powered device 200C to the powered device that does not include the transmission signature circuit 230C, to ensure that the power supply behavior does not cause power supply safety issues.

[0091] Based on the first device network 1000A or the second device network 1000B including the structures shown in Figures 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, and 11, the charging method including steps S100 to S300 shown in Figure 12 below may be executed:

[0092] S100 : The third power supplying device 100C sends a first electrical signal to the third power receiving device 200C.

[0093] For example, as shown in Figures 5, 7, 8, 9, 10, and 11, the third power supply device 100C sends a first electrical signal to the third powered device 200C via the third power supply interface 110C in response to the third power supply interface 110C being coupled to the third powered device 200C. In the embodiment of the present application, in the design of the power supply scheme, it is usually necessary to realize that after the power supply interface and the powered interface are coupled, the power supply device can automatically supply power to the powered device (or automatically start to perform power supply identification and negotiation operations before supplying power). Therefore, the power supply device and / or the powered device are usually designed to realize the above-mentioned self-response function. For example, the control circuit 140C can detect the pin level change at the interface to confirm the coupling of the third power supply interface 110C and the third powered device 210C.

[0094] S200 : The third power receiving device 200C sends a second electrical signal to the third power supplying device 100C.

[0095] Exemplarily, as shown in FIG5 , after receiving the first electrical signal, the characteristic transmission circuit 230C of the third powered device 200C transmits the first electrical signal and then sends a second electrical signal to the third power supply device 100C.

[0096] For example, as shown in Figures 7 and 8, the excitation signal source 130C of the third power supply device 100C transmits a first electrical signal via the power supply pin 111C or the first excitation pin 113C. The third powered device 200C receives the first electrical signal via the power receiving pin 211C or the second excitation pin 213C. After the first electrical signal is transmitted by the transmission characteristic circuit 230C, the third powered device 200C outputs a second electrical signal via the feedback pin 212C. In this embodiment of the present application, the transmission characteristics of the transmission characteristic circuit 230C are used to modify characteristic electrical signal parameters of the first electrical signal to obtain the second electrical signal. Depending on the transmission characteristic circuit 230C, different characteristic electrical signal parameters of the first electrical signal can be modified, and the degree of modification of the characteristic electrical signal parameters also varies depending on the transmission characteristic circuit 230C.

[0097] For example, as shown in FIG7 and FIG8 , after the third powered device 200C sends the second electrical signal through the feedback pin 212C, the third power supply device 100C may receive the second electrical signal from the detection pin 112C.

[0098] Exemplarily, as shown in FIG7 and FIG8 , the control circuit 140C of the third power supply device 100C receives the second electrical signal through the detection pin 112C.

[0099] In some possible implementations, the characteristic electrical signal parameters of the second electrical signal are used to indicate the device identification of the third powered device 200C. In this embodiment of the present application, power supply identification negotiation between the third power supply device 100C and the third powered device 200C is implemented in hardware via the transmission characteristic circuit 230C. The characteristic electrical signal parameters of the first electrical signal can be modified by the transmission characteristic circuit 230C to generate the second electrical signal. In this case, the characteristic electrical signal parameters of the second electrical signal can be used to indicate the device identification of the third powered device 200C.

[0100] In some possible implementations, the characteristic electrical signal parameters of the second electrical signal are also used to indicate the power receiving parameters of the third powered device 200C. In some application scenarios, the power supply device may also need to provide different power signals to different powered devices to match their power supply requirements. In this case, the transmission characteristic circuit 230C can be designed so that the characteristic electrical signal parameters of the second electrical signal can also be used to indicate the power receiving parameters of the corresponding third powered device 200C.

[0101] In some possible implementations, the characteristic electrical signal parameter includes at least one of the following: a phase change characteristic, an amplitude change characteristic, and a frequency change characteristic.

[0102] For example, when the characteristic electrical signal parameters include a phase variation characteristic, the transmission characteristic circuit 230C may change the phase of the first electrical signal to a certain degree to obtain a second electrical signal. When the phase of the first electrical signal is known, the third power supply device 100C may determine whether the third powered receiving device 200C is a certified powered receiving device based on whether the phase value of the second electrical signal is within a preset range. For example, the phase of the first electrical signal is adjusted based on the circuits of Figures 6(a) and 6(b). Furthermore, when determining that the third powered receiving device 200C is a certified powered receiving device, the third power supply device 100C may also determine the power receiving parameters of the third powered receiving device 200C based on the phase value of the second electrical signal. Regarding the technical principles and technical effects of determining the power receiving parameters based on the values of the amplitude variation characteristics and / or frequency variation characteristics when the characteristic electrical signal parameters include amplitude variation characteristics and / or frequency variation characteristics, the aforementioned description of the phase variation characteristics can be found and will not be further elaborated here.

[0103] Exemplarily, when the characteristic electrical signal parameters include frequency variation characteristics, the transmission characteristic circuit 230C can also function as a filter. The first electrical signal is a signal having a preset frequency value. The transmission characteristic circuit 230C filters the first electrical signal to obtain a second electrical signal. Based on the frequency of the second electrical signal, the third powered device 200C is determined to be a certified powered device. Furthermore, upon determining that the third powered device 200C is a certified powered device, the third power supply device 100C can also determine the power receiving parameters of the third powered device 200C based on the frequency value of the filtered second electrical signal. In some examples, the transmission characteristic circuit 230C can be a filter circuit that performs a pass filter function, i.e., it filters signals of a certain frequency and filters out signals of other frequencies. In some examples, the transmission characteristic circuit 230C can be a filter circuit that filters out signals of a certain frequency and filters out signals of other frequencies.

[0104] In some possible implementations, the characteristic electrical signal parameter includes at least one of a time variation characteristic or a noise characteristic.

[0105] For example, when characteristic electrical signal parameters include time-varying characteristics, in some examples, during the time the first electrical signal is transmitted through the transmission characteristic circuit 230C, at least one of the phase, amplitude, and frequency of the output second electrical signal may vary over different time periods, influenced by the device parameters of the transmission characteristic circuit 230C. For example, when the first electrical signal is first input into the transmission characteristic circuit 230C, the load of the transmission characteristic circuit 230C may consume the first electrical signal to a certain extent, causing the amplitude of the immediately output second electrical signal to be lower than that of the subsequently output second electrical signal. In some examples, the transmission characteristic circuit 230C may delay the first electrical signal to generate the second electrical signal. Whether the third powered device 200C is an authenticated powered device is determined based on the delay of the second electrical signal. If the third powered device 200C is an authenticated powered device, the power receiving parameters, etc., may also be determined based on the delay of the second signal.

[0106] For example, when the characteristic electrical signal parameters include time-varying characteristics, the transmission characteristic circuit 230C may be a noise generating circuit. The transmission characteristic circuit 230C adds a certain noise signal to the first electrical signal. The third power supply device 100C determines whether the third powered device 200C is an authenticated powered device based on the noise signal on the second electrical signal. Furthermore, the corresponding power receiving parameters may be determined based on the signal parameters of the noise signal. In some examples, a certain reflection coefficient may be designed for the transmission characteristic circuit 230C to generate a certain reflected signal as the noise signal. In actual device design, impedance matching is required in the circuit to ensure normal signal transmission. Impedance matching can be understood as ensuring that the characteristic impedance of a transmission line is equal in magnitude and phase to the connected load impedance. This is referred to as impedance matching at the input or output of the transmission line, respectively. When the first impedance is equal to the second impedance, the RF signal can be transmitted along the transmission path without reflection. However, when the transmission impedance is not equal to the load impedance, the signal will reflect along the transmission path, generating interference signals and reducing signal transmission efficiency. Different reflection coefficients produce different reflected signals. By designing the characteristic impedance of transmission characteristic circuit 230C so that impedance matching is not achieved during transmission of the first electrical signal through transmission characteristic circuit 230C, a corresponding reflection coefficient can be obtained. The third power supply device 100C determines whether the third powered receiving device 100C is an authenticated powered receiving device based on the corresponding reflected signal in the second electrical signal. Alternatively, corresponding power receiving parameters, etc., can be determined based on the signal parameters of the reflected signal.

[0107] S300 : The third power supplying device 100C sends a power supply signal to the third power receiving device 200C.

[0108] In some possible implementations, when the characteristic electrical signal parameters of the second electrical signal are within a preset range, the third power supply device 100C transmits a power supply signal to the third powered receiving device 200C. In some examples, the characteristic electrical signal parameters of the second electrical signal can be used to indicate the device identification of the third powered receiving device 200C. Therefore, when the characteristic electrical signal parameters of the second electrical signal are within the preset range, indicating that the third powered receiving device 200C is an authenticated powered receiving device, the third power supply device 100C completes the power supply identification operation with the third powered receiving device 200C and provides the power supply signal to the third powered receiving device 200C. In some examples, the characteristic electrical signal parameters of the second electrical signal can be used to indicate the power receiving parameters of the third powered receiving device 200C. Therefore, based on the values of the characteristic electrical signal parameters of the second electrical signal, etc., the power supply parameters of the power supply signal can be determined.

[0109] In some possible implementations, step S300 may include sub-operations of step S310 to step S320 as shown in FIG13 below:

[0110] S310: Output a first control signal according to the second electrical signal.

[0111] In some possible implementations, as shown in Figures 7 and 8, after receiving the second electrical signal, the control circuit 140C outputs a first control signal based on characteristic electrical signal parameters of the second electrical signal. The first control signal is used to instruct the third power supply 120C to supply a power signal to the third powered device 200C.

[0112] For example, as shown in Figures 9 and 10, the control circuit 140C can receive different second electrical signals from the corresponding third power interface 110C for the third powered device 200C. Based on the second electrical signals, the control circuit 140C outputs corresponding first control signals to the third power supply 120C. Each first control signal is used to instruct the third power supply 120C to output a power supply signal to the corresponding third power interface 110C, thereby supplying power to the corresponding third powered device 200C via the third power interface 110C.

[0113] For example, as shown in FIG11 , the control circuit 140C can transmit a first electrical signal to multiple third powered devices 200C via a third power interface 110C and a branch connector X1, and receive multiple second electrical signals fed back from the multiple third powered devices 200C. Because the transmission characteristic circuits 230C of the multiple third powered devices 200C change the characteristic electrical signal parameters of the first electrical signal in a consistent manner, the control circuit 140C determines whether all third powered devices 200C are certified powered devices based on the value ranges of the characteristic electrical signal parameters of the multiple second electrical signals. This solution can be applied in scenarios where all powered devices are certified powered devices. When a certified powered device fails, the faulty powered device can be automatically powered off, but its transmission characteristic circuit 230C can still transmit the first electrical signal normally. The third power supply device 100C can still perform power supply identification and other functions for all third powered devices 200C connected to the third power interface 110C. The failure of a certain third power receiving device 200C does not affect the power receiving operation of other third power receiving devices 200C that are operating normally.

[0114] S320: Output a power supply signal according to the first control signal.

[0115] In some possible implementations, as shown in Figures 7 and 8 , the third power supply 120C outputs a power signal to the corresponding third power interface 110C based on the first control signal. In some examples, when the first control signal indicates the device identifier of the third powered device 200C, the third power supply 120C may output a power signal with preset uniform parameters, or the third power supply 120C may output a power signal with preset power parameters corresponding to the device identifier. In some examples, when the first control signal indicates the power receiving parameters of the third powered device 200C, the third power supply 120C may output a power signal with the corresponding power receiving parameters based on the first control signal to match the power receiving requirements of the third powered device 200C.

[0116] In this embodiment of the present application, a transmission characteristic circuit 230C is provided in the third powered device 200C, and the transmission characteristics of the transmission characteristic circuit 230C are used to indicate different device identifications and / or power receiving parameters. The third power supply device 100C can determine the device identification and / or power receiving parameters of the third powered device 200C by processing the second electrical signal, thereby distinguishing between authenticated and unauthenticated devices and negotiating power supply requirements. This embodiment reduces the number of power manager configurations in the third powered device 200C, thereby reducing the device cost and device area overhead of the third powered device 200C. Furthermore, when the third power supply device 100C is provided with multiple third power supply interfaces 110C, power can be supplied to different third powered devices 200C via the multiple third power supply interfaces 110C. A single excitation signal source 130C and / or control circuit 140C can be reused across the multiple third power supply interfaces 110C, thereby reducing the device cost and device area overhead of the third power supply device 100C. In the above solution, while reducing the device cost and device area overhead of the first device network 1000A or the second device network 1000B, the reliability and safety of the device power supply can also be guaranteed.
