Description

Hair cosmetics

[0001] The present invention relates to a hair cosmetic composition.

[0002] Hair is damaged daily by factors such as ultraviolet rays, chemicals in the atmosphere, washing and brushing, and heat from hair dryers and irons. When damaged hair rubs against itself, it can become tangled and difficult to run your fingers through. For this reason, hair cosmetics such as hair conditioners, hair treatments, hair rinses, hair packs, hair milks, and hair creams are used to improve hair's manageability and make it easier to run your fingers through.

[0003] Hair cosmetics typically contain a cationic surfactant that smoothes the hair surface, as well as an oily component such as hydrocarbon, ester oil, or animal or vegetable oil, and silicone as appropriate. Silicone, among others, is used in many hair cosmetics because it has low surface tension, excellent lubricity, and can impart smooth finger-combing to dry hair.

[0004] For example, Patent Document 1 proposes a hair cosmetic that combines liquid oil, silicone, a specific oil and fat, and a polyhydric alcohol, and describes that this hair cosmetic can impart smooth, manageable hair after towel drying. However, hair cosmetics containing a large amount of silicone tend to make hair feel heavy with repeated use. In recent years, with the diversification of consumer preferences, there has been an increasing demand for hair cosmetics that contain a low amount of silicone and that provide a natural, light texture even after repeated use. In response to this demand, the hair cosmetic of Patent Document 1 sometimes falls short in maintaining the natural, light texture of hair even after repeated use. In addition, with the recent diversification of lifestyles, for example, consumers with long hair require a certain amount of time to care for their hair, making it difficult to care for it regularly. This has led to an increasing demand for maintaining smooth, manageable hair and manageable hair between washing and the next day. To meet this demand, it is considered necessary to maintain the friction-reducing effect that causes roughness and loss of manageability from immediately after use.

[0005] For example, Patent Document 2 proposes a silicone-free hair cosmetic that contains a self-crosslinking compound and a compound whose IOB in the organic conceptual diagram is 1.3 or less and is liquid at 20° C. This hair cosmetic is excellent in terms of ease of combing through hair during drying and lack of stickiness after repeated use, but the film-forming effect on hair is mild, so the durability of the friction-reducing effect may be poor.

[0006] In response to this, Patent Document 3 proposes a hair cosmetic containing silicone, a cationic surfactant, and a higher alcohol. This hair cosmetic is good in terms of hair manageability and durability of combability, i.e., durability of the friction-reducing effect. However, even the hair cosmetic of Patent Document 3 sometimes fails to maintain a natural, light texture even after repeated use.

[0007] Furthermore, in recent years, there has been an increasing demand for reducing the burden of styling to correct hair curls such as bedhead the next morning. To meet this demand, it is necessary to have both a strong film effect on the hair surface that makes hair less likely to frizz even when stress is applied to the hair while sleeping, and an effect of imparting flexibility to the hair so that hair does not become curled even when it is frizzed. However, it has not yet been possible to achieve both of these effects, and there have been cases where hair curl suppression effects, which maintain hair manageability and make it less likely to frizz when stress is applied to the hair, and make it less likely to become curled, have been inferior.

[0009] In view of the above problems, the present invention aims to provide a hair cosmetic that allows easy combing during drying, maintains a natural, light texture even after repeated use, has a sustained effect of reducing hair friction, and has an effect of suppressing frizz when a load is applied to the hair.

[0010] In order to achieve the above object, the present inventors conducted extensive research and found that a hair cosmetic composition that can solve the above object can be obtained by containing the specific components shown below, and thus completed the present invention.

[0011] That is, the present invention provides a hair cosmetic composition comprising (A) 0.1 to 12 mass% of isoparaffin having an average carbon number of 50 to 250, (B) 0.2 to 19 mass% of isoparaffin having an average carbon number of 20 to 24, (C) 0.5 to 5 mass% of at least one compound selected from the group consisting of quaternary ammonium salts of formula (1) and aliphatic amidoamines and salts thereof of formula (2), (D) 1 to 10 mass% of alcohol having 14 to 24 carbon atoms, and (E) water, wherein the mass ratio of (A) to (B) ((A) / (B)) is 1 / 20 to 3 / 2.

[0012]

[0013] (In formula (1), R 1 represents a hydrocarbon group having 16 to 24 carbon atoms, a 2-hydroxy-3-alkyloxypropyl group having an alkyl chain with 16 to 24 carbon atoms, or a 3-alkyloxypropyl group having an alkyl chain with 16 to 24 carbon atoms; R 2 represents a hydrocarbon group having 16 to 24 carbon atoms, an alkyl group having 1 to 3 carbon atoms, or a hydroxyalkyl group having 1 to 3 carbon atoms; R 3 and R 4 each independently represents an alkyl group having 1 to 3 carbon atoms or a hydroxyalkyl group having 1 to 3 carbon atoms, and X represents a halogen atom.

[0014]

[0015] (In formula (2), R 5 CO represents an acyl group having 16 to 24 carbon atoms, and R 6 and R 7 each independently represents an alkyl group having 1 to 3 carbon atoms or a hydroxyalkyl group having 1 to 3 carbon atoms, and n represents an integer of 1 to 3.

[0016] The hair cosmetic composition of the present invention allows hair to be easily combed during drying, maintains a natural, light texture even after repeated use, has a sustained effect of reducing hair friction, and further provides an effect of inhibiting hair frizz when stress is applied to the hair.

[0017] Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described, but the present invention is not limited to the embodiments described herein and can be modified in various ways without departing from the spirit of the present invention. In this specification, numerical ranges defined using the symbol "to" are intended to include the numerical values at both ends (upper and lower limits) of the symbol "to." For example, "2 to 5" means 2 or more and 5 or less. Furthermore, in the numerical ranges described herein, the upper or lower limit of the range can be replaced with a value shown in an example or a value unambiguously derived from an example. Numerical values described herein are subject to the inherent variability of the measurement technique used to determine the numerical value. Numerical values should be interpreted in light of the number of significant digits and by applying the rounding method.

[0018] The hair cosmetic composition of the present invention contains the following components (A), (B), (C), and (D). Each component will be described below.

[0019] [Component (A)] Component (A) used in the present invention is an isoparaffin having an average carbon number of 50 to 250. This isoparaffin is a mixture of long-chain hydrocarbons having side chains, and is usually obtained by hydrogenating a polymer of isobutene and n-butene. Examples of such components include those generally classified as "heavy liquid isoparaffins" in the cosmetics field.

[0020] The average carbon number of isoparaffin is 50 to 250, preferably 60 to 230, more preferably 70 to 210, and particularly preferably 80 to 190. If the average carbon number is too small, the effect of suppressing frizz when a load is applied to the hair may be poor. On the other hand, if the average carbon number is too large, combing may be impaired during drying, and it may be difficult to maintain a natural, light texture.

[0021] The average carbon number in this specification is a value derived from the results of peak area and mass analysis measured using a GC-MS (gas chromatography mass spectrometry) measuring device (JMS-T2000GC AccuTOF (registered trademark) GC-Alpha, manufactured by JEOL Ltd.).

[0022] Component (A) can be synthesized, for example, as follows: First, a mixed gas of isobutene and n-butene is treated by a known method, for example, cationic polymerization using a catalyst, to obtain a polymer. The resulting polymer is then hydrogenated to obtain a hydrogenated polymer, which is then purified by adsorption treatment, distillation, and other processes to obtain component (A).

[0023] Specific examples of the component (A) include "Pearlream 18" (average carbon number 72), "Pearlream 24" (average carbon number 96), and "Pearlream 46" (average carbon number 184), all manufactured by NOF Corporation. One or more of these isoparaffins, each having a different average carbon number, can be used as the component (A).

[0024] [Component (B)] Component (B) used in the present invention is an isoparaffin having an average carbon number of 20 to 24, in other words, a mixture of medium-chain hydrocarbons having side chains, and is usually obtained by hydrogenating a polymer of isobutene and n-butene. Examples of such components include those generally classified as "liquid isoparaffins" in the cosmetics field.

[0025] If the average carbon number is less than 20, the volatility becomes high and the duration of the friction-reducing effect and the effect of suppressing spread when a load is applied to the hair may be poor. On the other hand, if the average carbon number exceeds 24, the hair may be sticky and the combing during drying and the natural, light texture may be poor when used repeatedly.

[0026] Component (B) can be synthesized, for example, as follows: First, a mixed gas of isobutene and n-butene is treated by a known method, for example, cationic polymerization using a catalyst, to obtain a polymer. The resulting polymer is then hydrogenated to obtain a hydrogenated polymer, which is then purified by adsorption treatment, distillation, and other processes to obtain component (B).

[0027] Specific examples of the component (B) include "Pearleam 6" (average carbon number: 24) and "Pearleam EX" (average carbon number: 20) manufactured by NOF Corporation. One or more of these isoparaffins having different average carbon numbers can be used as the component (B).

[0070] <Evaluation of Hair Cosmetics> Hair Treatment Method: Healthy black hair (human black hair (root-aligned), product number: BS-B3A, 10 g, 30 cm, Beaulux Co., Ltd.) was washed with 2 g of a 25% by mass aqueous solution of sodium polyoxyethylene lauryl ether sulfate and thoroughly rinsed with tap water at 40°C, after which 2 g of each of the hair cosmetics shown in the Examples in Table 1 and the Comparative Examples in Table 2 was applied. The solution was allowed to soak into the hair for 2 minutes, and then thoroughly rinsed with tap water at 40°C. The hair was towel-dried and then dried with a hairdryer. The procedure from washing with the 25% by mass aqueous solution of sodium polyoxyethylene lauryl ether sulfate to drying with a hairdryer was repeated 10 times, and the hair was used for evaluation.

[0071] (1) Combing during drying The above hair treatment was carried out, and the ease of combing during the 10th dryer drying was measured by passing the comb through 15 times during drying and counting the number of times the hair got caught. Based on the number of times the hair got caught, the ease of combing during drying was evaluated in three levels of "◎", "○", and "△" according to the following evaluation criteria. A rating of "◎" and a rating of "○" were deemed to be acceptable. A: 1 time or less ○: 2 to 3 times △: 4 times or more

[0072] (2) Natural Light Texture Six panelists (3 men and 3 women, aged 25 to 45) evaluated the texture of the hair that had been treated as described above. The total score of each panelist's rating was calculated, and based on this total score, the texture was evaluated on a three-level scale of "◎", "◯", and "△" according to the following evaluation criteria. A rating of "◎" or "◯" was considered a pass. Each panelist was trained in a preliminary evaluation test conducted prior to the evaluation test to ensure that the level of evaluation corresponding to each rating was roughly consistent, preventing differences in the evaluation criteria between panelists. <Absolute Evaluation Criteria> (Rating): (Evaluation) 3: Natural light texture 2: Slightly heavy texture 1: Heavy texture, as if the hair was coated 0: Feels stiff and sticky. <Three-level rating based on total score> ◎: Total score is 15-18 points ○: Total score is 12-14 points △: Total score is 11 points or less

[0073] (3) Durability of Friction Reduction Effect The dynamic friction coefficient of the hair treated as described above was measured immediately after the 10th drying with a dryer and after 24 hours (left to stand in an environment of 23°C and 40% RH) using a static and dynamic friction coefficient measuring device (multifunctional static and dynamic friction measuring device TL201Tt, Trinity Lab Co., Ltd.). The average values measured three times for each were compared, and the combability during drying was evaluated on a three-point scale of "◎", "○", and "△" based on the difference between the average values immediately after the 10th drying with a dryer and after 24 hours according to the following evaluation criteria. The results of evaluations of "◎" and "○" were deemed to be acceptable. ◎: Difference in average values is less than 0.20 〇: Difference in average values is 0.20 or more but less than 0.40 △: Difference in average values is 0.40 or more

[0074] (4) Effect of suppressing spread when stress is applied to hair For hair that had undergone the above-described hair treatment, the spread width 15 cm above the end of the hair was measured immediately after the 10th drying with a hair dryer. Thereafter, the hair was wavy and placed on a towel, and a towel was placed on top of that, and a 50 g plate was placed on top and left to stand for 24 hours. The hair that had been artificially curled using the above-described method was untied five times with a comb, and then the spread width 15 cm above the end of the hair was measured again. Based on the difference in the spread width of the hair immediately after the 10th drying with a hair dryer and after the artificial curling, the effect of suppressing spread when stress is applied to the hair was evaluated on a three-point scale of "◎", "〇", and "△" according to the following evaluation criteria. Evaluations of "◎" and "〇" were deemed to be acceptable. ◎: The difference in the spread width of the hair was less than 3.0 cm. 〇: The difference in the spread width of the hair was 3.0 cm or more but less than 4.0 cm. △: The difference in the spread width of the hair was 4.0 cm or more.

[0075] The hair cosmetics of Examples 1 to 10 allowed for easy combing during drying, maintained a natural, light texture even after repeated use, maintained the effect of reducing hair friction, and further provided the effect of inhibiting frizz when stress was applied to the hair.

[0076] On the other hand, Comparative Example 1 does not contain the (B) component, so it is difficult to comb during drying, a natural, light texture is not obtained, the friction-reducing effect is not long-lasting, and the effect of inhibiting frizz when stress is applied to the hair is not good. Comparative Example 2 has too large an (A) / (B) ratio, so it is difficult to comb during drying, and a natural, light texture is not obtained. Comparative Example 3 does not contain the (A) component, but contains silicones, so it is difficult to obtain a natural, light texture, and the effect of inhibiting frizz when stress is applied to the hair is not good. Comparative Example 4 has a high content of the (A) component, and the (A) / (B) ratio is too large, so it is difficult to comb during drying, and a natural, light texture is not obtained. Comparative Example 5 has too much of the (C) component, so it is not possible to obtain a natural, light texture. Comparative Example 6 has a high content of the (B) component, and the (A) / (B) ratio is too small, so it is not possible to obtain a good effect of inhibiting frizz when stress is applied to the hair. Since Comparative Example 7 does not contain component (C), it is difficult to comb while drying, the friction-reducing effect is not long-lasting, and the effect of preventing frizz when a load is applied to the hair is not good. Since Comparative Example 8 does not contain component (D), it is difficult to comb while drying. Since Comparative Example 9 contains too much component (D), it is not possible to obtain a natural, light texture, and the effect of preventing frizz when a load is applied to the hair is not good.
