Abstract
Description
Two-layer cosmetic composition containing hyaluronic acid
[0001] The present invention relates to a two-layer cosmetic composition containing hyaluronic acid, and more particularly, to a cosmetic composition capable of forming a two-layer structure stably and having a fast separation speed.
[0002] Recently, research is actively underway to develop cosmetics that not only enhance their functionality by varying the active ingredients, but also differentiate them through unique formulations or appearances and attract consumer attention. As part of this effort, research is ongoing into two-layer formulations with separate aqueous and oil phases.
[0003] The two-layer cosmetic composition has the advantage of not only easily maintaining the oil and moisture balance of the skin with a single formulation by adjusting the appropriate mixing ratio of oil and water, but also stabilizing effective ingredients with different properties, so that a single formulation can provide various effects to the skin.
[0004] However, since the effective ingredients, preservatives, fragrances, thickeners, and water-soluble moisturizing ingredients included in the cosmetic composition lower the separation ability of the two-layer phase or affect the stability of the two-layer formulation, it is technically difficult to stably implement the two-layer formulation. In addition, most two-layer cosmetic compositions developed so far have used surfactants or thickeners to control the feeling of use and separation time, but as negative perceptions about the use of surfactants in cosmetics have recently increased, there is a need to develop a composition that can implement a two-layer formulation without surfactants.
[0005] Accordingly, the inventors of the present invention have continued their research to realize a stable two-layer cosmetic composition without using a surfactant or thickener, and as a result, they have completed the present invention by manufacturing a two-layer cosmetic composition that has a fast separation speed and enables clean separation of the oil phase layer and the water phase layer using hyaluronic acid, a natural moisturizing factor.
[0006] The purpose of the present invention is to provide a two-layer cosmetic composition that has a fast separation speed and enables clean separation of an oil phase layer and an aqueous phase layer.
[0007] The technical problems of the present invention are not limited to the technical problems mentioned above, and other technical problems not mentioned will be clearly understood by those skilled in the art from the description below.
[0008] According to an embodiment of the present invention, a cosmetic composition comprising hyaluronic acid is provided in a two-layer cosmetic composition comprising an aqueous phase and an oil phase.
[0009] The cosmetic composition according to the present invention is characterized by separating into oil and water phases at an appropriately rapid rate and stably maintaining a two-layer formulation. This separated two-layer structure allows for visual differentiation, and by mixing the upper and lower layers by shaking during use, the composition can be visually and tactilely enjoyed by consumers.
[0010] Furthermore, the cosmetic composition according to the present invention can stabilize different types of effective ingredients, both oily and water-soluble, and maintain the efficacy of the active ingredients contained in the oily and water phases through biphasic separation. Therefore, a single formulation can provide a variety of skin benefits.
[0011] In addition, the cosmetic composition according to the present invention can simultaneously provide a moisturizing and oily feeling felt in skin and cream, so it has an excellent feeling of use.

[0030]
[0031] According to an embodiment of the present invention, a two-layer cosmetic composition comprising a water-soluble portion and an oil-soluble portion is provided.
[0032] A two-layer cosmetic composition according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises hyaluronic acid and is characterized in that it does not contain a surfactant or a thickening agent.
[0033] In a two-layer cosmetic composition, surfactants and thickeners can affect the separation ability of the aqueous layer and the oil phase and can reduce the separation speed. For example, when a surfactant is included in the preparation of a two-layer cosmetic composition, the surfactant may be located between the aqueous layer and the oil phase, preventing the two-layer composition from being realized again after shaking, or may form cloud bands, which may negatively affect the complete separation of the two-layer phase. In addition, the thickener may slow down the separation speed of the two-layer cosmetic composition, which may negatively affect the complete separation of the aqueous layer and the oil phase. Therefore, a two-layer cosmetic composition according to an embodiment of the present invention does not include a surfactant or thickener, and uses hyaluronic acid, a natural moisturizing factor, to realize a stable two-layer cosmetic composition.
[0034] In the present invention, hyaluronic acid is a substance included to implement a two-layer phase without a surfactant or a thickener. In an embodiment, hyaluronic acid includes not only pure hyaluronic acid but also hyaluronic acid derivatives, salts of hyaluronic acid, etc., and examples thereof include, but are not limited to, hydrolyzed hyaluronic acid, sodium hyaluronate, sodium hyaluronate crosspolymer, hydroxypropyltrimonium hyaluronate, and sodium acetylated hyaluronate. The hyaluronic acid salt includes all kinds of salts, and may be selected from the group consisting of, for example, sodium hyaluronate, potassium hyaluronate, calcium hyaluronate, magnesium hyaluronate, zinc hyaluronate, cobalt hyaluronate, and tetrabutylammonium hyaluronate, but is not limited thereto.
[0035] In the embodiment, hyaluronic acid having a molecular weight of 100 to 500 kDa may be used for the stable production of a two-layer cosmetic composition. If the molecular weight of the hyaluronic acid exceeds 500 kDa, the separation speed is reduced and a cloud band is formed, so that the separation of the oil phase and the water phase is not clean and the formulation stability is reduced. If the molecular weight of the hyaluronic acid is less than 100 kDa, the separation speed is too fast and only the water phase is discharged depending on the container, which may make the composition unsuitable for the production of a two-layer cosmetic composition.
[0036] According to an embodiment, the hyaluronic acid may be included in an amount of 0.1 to 1 wt% based on the total weight of the cosmetic composition. When the hyaluronic acid is included in the above content range, the two-layer formulation can be stably implemented, and when the content of hyaluronic acid is less than 0.1 wt% or more than 1 wt%, there is a problem in that the separation speed is slowed down, the two-layer separation is not properly achieved, and thus the formulation stability is lowered.
[0037] The two-layer cosmetic composition of the present invention can be manufactured as a two-layer composition comprising an aqueous phase and an oil phase by mixing an aqueous phase component and an oil phase component.
[0038] In an embodiment, the oil phase may include oil, and the water phase may include hyaluronic acid, purified water, and other preservatives, pH regulators, or functional ingredients, but is not limited thereto.
[0039] The weight ratio of the oil phase component and the water phase component included in the preparation of the cosmetic composition of the present invention may be 5 to 15:85 to 95, specifically 8 to 12:88 to 92, and more specifically 10:90. When the oil phase component and the water phase component are included in the corresponding weight ratio, a cloud band is not formed and an optimized two-layer composition can be formed. When the weight ratio of the oil phase component is higher, for example, when the weight ratio of the oil phase component and the water phase component is 20:80 to 30:70, the separation speed is reduced and the two-layer separation is not properly performed, and when the weight ratio is 40:60 to 50:50, a cloud band is formed and the oil phase and the water phase are not separated cleanly, which may lower the stability of the formulation.
[0040] The cosmetic composition according to an embodiment of the present invention may contain 5 to 15 wt% of oil based on the total weight of the cosmetic composition, and specifically, 10 wt%. The oil may be any polar, non-polar, or naturally derived oil, but is not limited thereto. As described above, when the oil content is less than 5 wt% or more than 20 wt%, the separation speed is slowed, resulting in poor separation of the two-layer phase, thereby lowering the stability of the formulation.
[0041] A cosmetic composition according to an embodiment of the present invention may further include a moisturizing ingredient.
[0042] In an embodiment, the moisturizing ingredient may be included in an amount of 10 to 35 wt%, and specifically 15 to 20 wt%, based on the total weight of the cosmetic composition. If the moisturizing ingredient is included in an amount less than 10 wt% or more than 35 wt%, the separation time may be slowed down, and the two-layer separation may not occur properly.
[0043] The above moisturizing ingredient provides moisture to the skin or maintains moisture in the skin and provides a lasting moisturizing feeling, and is preferably a water-soluble ingredient. For example, the moisturizing ingredient may include at least one selected from the group consisting of glycerin, butylene glycol, propylene glycol, dipropylene glycol, methylpropanediol, pentylene glycol, glycereth-26, propanediol, sorbitol, and diglycerin, but is not limited thereto.
[0044] The cosmetic composition according to the present invention may further include a preservative, a pH regulator, or a functional ingredient, and may further include ingredients included in general cosmetic compositions in addition to the above ingredients. For example, ion sequestering agents, bactericides, antioxidants, alcohols, plant extracts, fragrances, cooling agents, additives, etc. may be included. The preservative is used to enhance the preservation effect, and 1,2-hexanediol and the like may be used, and the functional ingredient may be adenosine, niacinamide, etc.
[0045] The mixing amount of the above components is not particularly limited, and can be easily selected by a person skilled in the art within a range that does not impair the purpose and effect of the present invention.
[0046] In addition, according to an embodiment of the present invention, a cosmetic having a two-layer structure comprising a cosmetic composition according to the present invention is provided. According to an embodiment, the cosmetic composition of the present invention can be manufactured into various products having effects such as moisturizing, antioxidant, anti-aging, and UV protection, depending on the function of the active ingredient. For example, it can be manufactured into functional cosmetics such as nourishing creams, essences, and ampoules, or basic cosmetics such as toners and lotions.
[0047]
[0048] Hereinafter, examples and experimental examples are presented to explain the present invention more specifically, but the present invention is not limited thereto.
[0049]
[0050] [Manufacturing example]
[0051] Manufacturing of examples
[0052] The present inventors prepared a two-layer cosmetic composition with separated oil and water phases by mixing the ingredients listed in Table 1 below. In order to optimize the separation speed of the oil and water phases, hyaluronic acid with a molecular weight of 100-500 kDa was used instead of the conventional surfactants and thickeners. One or more types of moisturizers such as glycerin, methylpropanediol, and propanediol were used. The unit of the ingredient contents in Table 1 below is weight %.
[0053]
[0054]
[0055] More specifically, a two-layer cosmetic composition was prepared by first mixing 90 wt% of aqueous components such as a moisturizer, niacinamide, adenosine, hyaluronic acid, a preservative, a pH regulator, and purified water at room temperature, and then adding 10 wt% of synthetic oil.
[0056]
[0057] Experimental Example 1. Comparative Experiment with and without Surfactant
[0058] As described in Table 2 below, other components were the same as in the examples, but Comparative Examples 1 and 2 containing an anionic surfactant (SLS SODIUN LAURYL SULFATE) or a cationic surfactant (Polyquaternium 51) were prepared. The unit of the content of components in Table 2 is weight %, and the specific manufacturing method is the same as in the examples.
[0059]
[0060]
[0061] The cosmetic compositions of the completed examples and comparative examples were placed in sealed containers, and the layer separation trends of each composition were observed. The results are shown in Figures 1 to 3.
[0062] As shown in Fig. 1, the cosmetic composition according to the embodiment was confirmed to be stable and to have a two-layered structure with an appropriately fast separation rate between the oil and water phases. In contrast, as shown in Figs. 2 and 3, it was confirmed that the oil and water phases were not properly separated when a surfactant was included. This is believed to be because the surfactant is located between the oil and water phases, negatively affecting the separation of the two-layered structure.
[0063]
[0064] Experimental Example 2. Comparative Experiment According to the Molecular Weight of Hyaluronic Acid
[0065] As described in Table 3 below, the other ingredients are the same as in the examples, but while the examples contained hyaluronic acid of 100-500 kDa, comparative examples 3 to 5 were prepared using hyaluronic acid of a different molecular weight range. The unit of the ingredient contents in Table 3 is weight %, and the specific preparation method is the same as in the examples.
[0066]
[0067]
[0068] The completed cosmetic compositions were placed in sealed containers, and the layer separation patterns of each composition were observed. The results are shown in Figures 4 to 6.
[0069] As shown in FIGS. 4 and 5, when the molecular weight of hyaluronic acid is 500-1000 kDa or exceeds 1000 kDa, the separation speed of the two-layer phase decreases, the formulation stability deteriorates, cloud bands are formed, and the separation of the oil phase and the water phase is not clean. In addition, as shown in FIG. 6, when the molecular weight of hyaluronic acid is less than 100 kDa, the separation speed is too fast, and a phenomenon occurs in which only the water phase is discharged depending on the container. Therefore, it was confirmed that the most preferable molecular weight of hyaluronic acid for the manufacture of a two-layer cosmetic composition is 100 to 500 kDa.
[0070]
[0071] Experimental Example 3. Comparative Experiment According to the Ratio of Oil and Water Components
[0072] As described in Table 4 below, the other ingredients are the same as in the examples, but while the examples had a ratio of oil and water components of 1:9, comparative examples 6 to 9 were prepared by changing the ratio of oil and water components. The unit of the ingredient contents in Table 4 is weight %, and the specific manufacturing method is the same as in the examples.
[0073]
[0074]
[0075] The completed cosmetic compositions were placed in sealed containers, and the layer separation patterns of each composition were observed. The results are shown in Figures 7 to 10.
[0076] As shown in FIGS. 7 to 10, when the ratio of oil and water components is 20:80 to 30:70, the separation of the two-layer phases is not properly achieved, and when the ratio of oil and water components is 40:60 to 50:50, cloud bands are observed, indicating that the separation of the oil and water phases is not clean. Therefore, it was confirmed that the ratio of oil and water phases is the most important factor in the manufacture of a two-layer cosmetic composition.
[0077]
[0078] In summary, it was found that a two-layer cosmetic composition with separated oil and water layers can be efficiently manufactured by including hyaluronic acid without using a surfactant or thickener, and in particular, when hyaluronic acid with a molecular weight of 100-500 kDa is used and the ratio of oil and water components is manufactured at 1:9, the separation speed of oil and water layers is optimized, and a stabilized two-layer cosmetic composition can be manufactured. In this stabilized two-layer cosmetic composition, the efficacy of active ingredients contained in each of the oil and water layers can be stably maintained due to the separation between layers, and the oil and water balance can be maintained even with a single formulation, resulting in an excellent feeling of use.
[0079]
[0080] While specific aspects of the present invention have been described in detail above, it will be apparent to those skilled in the art that these specific descriptions merely represent preferred embodiments and are not intended to limit the scope of the present invention.
