Abstract
Description
Container lid material Cross Reference
[0001] This application claims priority based on Japanese Patent Application No. 2023-171233 filed in Japan on October 2, 2023, the entire contents of which are incorporated herein by reference.
[0002] The present invention relates to a lid material for a container.
[0003] A packaging container is known in which a cup-shaped container is filled with a beverage and the opening is sealed with a sheet-like container lid. In such a packaging container, the beverage can be drunk by piercing the container lid with a straw (a suction member) provided separately.
[0004] Incidentally, it is necessary to prevent damage or peeling of the container lid during distribution, and the surface of the lid needs to be hygienic because people drink by piercing the lid with a straw. For this reason, it is common to provide a plastic outer lid (overcap) that covers the entire container lid on the outside (see Patent Document 1 below).
[0005] JP 2012-001218 A
[0006] However, even if most of the container lid material is covered with a plastic outer lid, when a user pierces it with a straw or the like, there is a risk that foreign matter such as dust that has entered through the insertion port provided in the outer lid during distribution may enter the inside of the packaging container through the hole made by the straw. In addition, container lid materials with plastic outer lids have the problem of incurring costs due to the outer lid.
[0007] The present invention was made in consideration of such problems, and aims to provide a container lid material that prevents foreign matter from entering the interior when a suction member is inserted into a container, thereby improving hygiene and reducing costs.
[0008] (1) A container lid material according to an embodiment for achieving the above object comprises a lower layer substrate including at least an adhesive substrate, the back surface of which is sealed to the flange portion of the container body; and a top substrate laminated to the printing substrate via an adhesive and having a pull tab portion formed on a part of the outer periphery so as to extend beyond the flange portion. A first half-cut having a hole shape for sucking or removing the contents of the container body is provided inside the outer periphery of the flange portion and from the back surface of the lower layer substrate to an extent that does not reach the surface of the printing substrate. A second half-cut is provided inside the outer periphery of the flange portion and from the surface of the top substrate to an extent that does not reach the back surface. A third half-cut is provided on a line segment connecting one end of the base of the pull tab portion to the other and from the back surface of the lower layer substrate to an extent that does not reach the surface of the printing substrate. A peel-off portion extends from both ends of the base of the pull tab portion toward the opposing outer periphery to include the hole corresponding to the second half-cut. (2) In another embodiment of the container lid material, the lower layer substrate may preferably be configured to have an adhesive substrate for sealing the back surface to the flange portion of the container body, and a shape-retaining substrate for retaining the shape of the lid laminated to the adhesive substrate via an adhesive. (3) In another embodiment of the container lid material, the printing substrate is configured to include a film layer and a coating material layer, and the material of the coating material layer is preferably a coating agent for increasing the adhesive strength in an area excluding an area corresponding to a planned peeling portion of the film layer.
[0009] According to the present invention, it is possible to provide a container lid material that prevents foreign matter from entering the interior of a container when a suction member is inserted into the container, thereby improving hygiene and reducing costs.

[0012] Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. Note that the embodiments described below do not limit the inventions according to the claims. Furthermore, not all of the elements and combinations thereof described in the embodiments are necessarily essential to the solution of the present invention. Note that, for convenience, in the following description, the up and down directions when the container body 10 is upright are defined as up and down. That is, the bottom side of the container body 10 is defined as down, and the side opposite the bottom side is defined as up. Furthermore, the front and back surfaces of the substrate may be referred to as the top and bottom surfaces, respectively.
[0013] Fig. 1 is a cross-sectional view schematically showing an example of the layered structure of a container lid material according to an embodiment. Fig. 2 is a cross-sectional view schematically showing an example of the layered structure of a printing substrate. Fig. 3 is a view showing the upper surface of a top substrate. Fig. 4 is a view showing the upper surface of a printing substrate. Fig. 5 is a view showing the lower surface of an adhesive substrate. Fig. 6 is a schematic view illustrating the use of a container lid material.
[0014] The container body 10 is made of a resin molded product such as expanded polystyrene resin, has a cylindrical side wall whose outer diameter gradually decreases downward, and has a bottom at the lower end. It is formed into a bottomed, cylindrical shape with a circular opening on the top surface. An annular flange 27 extends horizontally from the periphery of the opening. A circular container lid 1 is adhered to the flange 27 with a seal, sealing the opening of the container body 10.
[0015] (Container Lid Material) The container lid material 1 is formed by laminating a top substrate 11, a printing substrate 12, a shape-retaining substrate 13, and an adhesive substrate 14 in this order from above the container body. The top substrate 11 and the printing substrate 12 serve as upper-layer substrates of the container lid material 1, and the shape-retaining substrate 13 and the adhesive substrate 14 serve as lower-layer substrates of the container lid material 1. A peel-off pull tab portion (insertion hole exposing tab) 21 is provided on a portion of the outer periphery of the container lid material 1, protruding from the outer periphery at one location in the circumferential direction. The pull tab portion 21 is formed by overlapping pull tabs formed in the same shape on the top substrate 11, the printing substrate 12, the shape-retaining substrate 13, and the adhesive substrate 14, respectively. In the following description, for convenience, the same reference numeral (reference numeral 21) is used to refer to each pull tab portion.
[0016] The top substrate 11 and the printing substrate 12 are bonded together with a laminating adhesive (such as an OH-terminated polyurethane resin or polyester resin) 15. The printing substrate 12 and the shape-retaining substrate 13 are bonded together with a laminating adhesive (such as an OH-terminated polyurethane resin or polyester resin) 16. The shape-retaining substrate 13 and the adhesive substrate 14 are bonded together with a laminating adhesive (such as an OH-terminated polyurethane resin or polyester resin) 17.
[0017] [Adhesive Base Material] The adhesive base material 14 has roughly the same shape as the opening of the container body 10, and a pull tab portion 21 is formed on a portion of the outer periphery so as to protrude beyond the flange 27. The adhesive base material 14 has a sealant film layer, and is heat-sealed (heat-fused) in the area corresponding to the flange 27. As the sealant film layer, for example, a film of a polyolefin resin such as linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE), low-density polyethylene (LDPE), high-density polyethylene (HDPE), or unoriented polypropylene (CPP), which has excellent heat-sealing properties, or an ethylene copolymer resin such as ethylene / vinyl acetate copolymer (EVA), ethylene / acrylic acid copolymer (EAA), or ethylene / methacrylic acid copolymer (EMAA), is suitably used.
[0018] [Shape-retaining substrate] The shape-retaining substrate 13 has roughly the same shape as the adhesive substrate 14, and a pull-tab portion 21 is formed on part of the outer periphery so as to protrude from the flange 27. The shape-retaining substrate 13 is laminated on the adhesive substrate 14 and is intended to suppress twisting and wrinkling of the container lid material 1 and improve the shape retention of the container lid material 1. Therefore, it is desirable to use paper with excellent shape retention for the shape-retaining substrate 13, but a film with excellent shape retention may also be used.
[0019] [Printing Substrate] The printing substrate 12 has roughly the same shape as the shape-retaining substrate 13, and a pull tab portion 21 is formed on part of the outer periphery so as to protrude from the flange 27. The printing substrate 12 is layered on the shape-retaining substrate 13, and is configured by layering an ink layer 33, a film layer 32, and a coating layer 31 from bottom to top. The coating layer 31 is on the upper surface of the film layer 32 and is formed in the hatched areas in FIG. 4, i.e., the first peel area, the area near the outer periphery, and the pull tab portion 21 (the area protruding from the periphery), and is made of a coating agent that increases the adhesive strength with the top substrate 11. Note that the areas other than the first peel area, the area near the outer periphery, and the pull tab portion 21 (the area not hatched in FIG. 4) are designated as the printing area 25.
[0020] The coating agent constituting the coating agent layer 31 may be, for example, one primarily composed of methylcyclohexane, but is not limited to this. The film layer 32 is a transparent film treated on one side (rear side), and its material is preferably, but not limited to, biaxially oriented polypropylene (OP) or polyethylene terephthalate (PET), which are suitable for printing. The ink layer 33 is formed on the rear side of the film layer 32 and is used to print a design. For example, an ink with a polyamide resin as the main binder or an ink with a polyurethane resin as the main binder is used for the ink layer. A laminating adhesive 16 is provided on the rear side of the ink layer 33, and the ink layer 33 is laminated to the shape-retaining substrate 13 via the laminating adhesive 16.
[0021] [Top substrate] The top substrate 11 has roughly the same shape as the printing substrate 12, and a pull tab portion 21 is formed on part of the outer periphery so as to protrude from the flange 27. The top substrate 11 also has a peel-off portion (peeling area) 18 (described later) formed from the ends 22a, 22b of the base 22 of the pull tab portion 21 toward the opposing outer periphery, including a hole corresponding to the second half cut 6 (described later). The film used for the top substrate 11 is transparent, and is laminated to the printing substrate 12 via a laminating adhesive 15. The film has a thickness of 12 to 100 μm, and examples of the film material include, but are not limited to, polyolefin films such as polyethylene film and polypropylene film, and polyester films.
[0022] [Half-Cut Structure] A first half-cut (first cutting line) 8 is made inside the outer peripheral edge of the flange 27 and from the back surface of the adhesive substrate 14 to a point not reaching the surface of the printing substrate 12, forming a first peel region 24 defined in the shape of a hole (circular in the example of FIG. 3 ). The reason for cutting to a point not reaching the surface of the printing substrate 12 is that if the adhesive substrate 14 were cut all the way to the surface of the printing substrate 12, there is a risk that the first peel region 24 would not be separated and would remain during peeling. The insertion hole 41 (see FIG. 6( c)) is an opening for inserting a straw 40 (see FIG. 6) for sucking up the contents of the container body 10 after peeling off the second peel region 18 (see FIG. 2: a region constituting the intended peel region, hereinafter sometimes referred to as the intended peel region 18).
[0023] A second half cut (second cutting line) 6 is made inward from the outer peripheral edge of the flange 27, cutting from the front surface of the top substrate 11 to a point not reaching the back surface, to form a second peel region 18 defined in a tongue shape (see FIG. 3 ). The reason for cutting to a point not reaching the back surface of the top substrate 11 is because if the cutting reaches the back surface of the top substrate 11, there is a risk that the printing substrate will also be cut off during peeling. The second peel region 18 defined by the second half cut is a region that extends from the ends 22 a, 22 b of the base 22 of the pull tab portion 21 toward the opposing outer peripheral edge to include the insertion hole 41.
[0024] A third half cut (third cutting line) 7 is made along the line segment connecting base end 22a and base end 22b of pull tab portion 21, cutting from the back surface of adhesive substrate 14 to a point not reaching the surface of printing substrate 12 (see FIG. 5 ). By making this third half cut 7, when pull tab portion 21 is grasped and pulled up, second peel region 18 is peeled off along with pull tab portion 21. The first half cut 8, second half cut 6, and third half cut 7 can be made by well-known methods such as laser cutting or using a blade.
[0025] (Method of Use) Fig. 6(a) is a diagram showing a state in which a container in which the container lid member 1 is attached to the container body 10 and a straw 40 are prepared. Fig. 6(b) is a diagram showing how a user picks up and pulls up the pull-tab portion 21, thereby peeling off the intended peeling portion 18 from the top substrate 11. Fig. 6(c) is a diagram showing how the intended peeling portion 18 is cut off and the straw 40 is inserted into the exposed insertion hole 41.
[0026] First, a user prepares a container with a container lid member 1 attached to a container body 10 and a straw 40 (see FIG. 6( a)). Next, as shown in FIG. 6( b), the user grasps and pulls up the pull-tab portion 21. Then, the peel-off portion 18 extending from the pull-tab portion 21 is peeled (cut off) from the top substrate 11. For example, as shown in FIG. 6( c), the peel-off portion 18 is easily and reliably cut off along the second half-cut (second cutting line) 6, and an insertion hole 41 is formed in the top substrate 11 from which the peel-off portion 18 has been peeled off.
[0027] That is, when the portion to be peeled 18 having the second peel region is separated along the second half cut, the portion to be peeled 18 having the second peel region is peeled off together with the circular portion having the first peel region (circular region) 24, and the surface of the printing substrate 12 on which the insertion hole 41 is formed is exposed. That is, the insertion hole 41 appears on the exposed surface of the printing substrate 12 (see FIG. 6( c)). Thereafter, by inserting a straw 40 into the insertion hole 41, it becomes possible to suction or remove the contents contained in the container body 10.
[0028] In this way, the top substrate 11 including the intended peeling portion 18 remains laminated on the container lid 1 of the container until immediately before use, so the area around the insertion hole 41 is clean immediately after peeling off the intended peeling portion 18. Therefore, the container lid 1 can prevent dust and foreign matter adhering to the surface of the container lid 1 from entering the inside of the container when a straw is pierced, thereby improving hygiene.
[0029] Furthermore, since the container lid member 1 does not have an outer lid, the cost of the outer lid can be reduced.
[0030] In addition, a coating agent layer 31 is laminated on the surface side of the film layer 32 to increase the adhesive strength in areas with weak adhesive strength other than the intended peeling area 18, so that peeling in areas other than the intended peeling area 18 can be suppressed when the intended peeling area 18 is peeled off.
