Description

Installation structure of dishwasher and electric range

[0001] The present disclosure relates to a dishwasher having an improved structure for built-in installation of an electric range and a dishwasher.

[0002] Recently, the demand for kitchen appliances that enhance user convenience is steadily increasing. Electric ranges are one such appliance, and active development is underway. Electric ranges use an electric heater or a separate cooking surface as a heat source for cooking food. Depending on the heating method, electric ranges are categorized into induction heaters, which use induction heating, and radiant heaters, which use electrical resistance. While gas ranges were traditionally used in most homes and restaurants, the growing concern over carbon monoxide emissions and the increasing efficiency of electric ranges over gas ranges have led to a surge in demand for electric ranges.

[0003] To briefly explain the basic principles of an electric range, when an induction heater is powered on, a high-frequency voltage of a certain magnitude is applied to the working coil, which generates a magnetic field around the working coil. The magnetic force lines of the induced magnetic field generated at this time generate eddy currents inside the burner, and the burner is heated by these eddy currents, thereby cooking. In the case of a radiant heater, when a certain amount of power is applied to the heating coil inside the burner, the heating coil self-heats, emitting high-temperature radiant heat, thereby cooking.

[0004] Electric ranges typically feature multiple burners, each with a different output power, allowing users to select the appropriate burner based on the type, amount, and purpose of the food being cooked. Unlike conventional gas ranges, electric ranges offer no risk of explosion, are easy to use, do not produce soot or other emissions due to incomplete combustion of gas, and have a flat surface covering the heating element, which also provides aesthetic advantages. Consequently, their popularity is steadily increasing.

[0005] Meanwhile, demand for dishwashers, a kitchen appliance, is also growing. Dishwashers are kitchen appliances that automatically clean food residue from dishes, cutlery, and various cooking utensils (hereinafter referred to as "dishes") using detergent and water.

[0006] A typical dishwasher includes a tub for accommodating dishes, a sump mounted on the bottom of the tub for storing wash water, a dish basket retractably positioned within the tub, and a nozzle assembly for spraying wash water. This kitchen appliance eliminates the hassle of having to wash dishes manually by storing dishes in the basket, pumping water from a wash pump mounted within the sump to move it to the nozzle assembly, and then spraying the wash water from the nozzle assembly to wash the dishes.

[0007] Recently, there has been a trend toward using built-in dishwashers, which are installed inside the kitchen cabinets to increase the efficiency of kitchen space usage and provide a sense of unity.

[0008] One aspect of the present disclosure provides a dishwasher having an improved built-in installation structure of an electric range and a dishwasher.
