Abstract
Description
TOILET SEAT COVER AND RELATED SYSTEMInventors: Shasha QiJose Daniel Reiff Applicant: East Meets West Inc.TECHNICAL FIELD
[0001] This invention relates to a toilet seat cover; more particularly, an improved toilet seat cover with notable advantages and improvements.BACKGROUND ART
[0002] Toilet seat covers are widely used in public and private restrooms as a sanitary measure to provide a barrier between the user and the toilet seat. They are typically made from thin, disposable materials such as paper or tissue and are designed to be used once and then flushed after use. While toilet seat covers are intended to improve hygiene and comfort, conventional designs present several limitations that reduce their overall effectiveness and convenience.
[0003] One common issue with traditional toilet seat covers is their tendency to slip or shift when placed on the toilet seat. Many existing designs lack an adhesive or securing mechanism to keep the cover in place, resulting in users experiencing discomfort or frustration as the cover moves during use. This slippage can negate the hygienic benefits of the cover, as parts of the seat may become exposed, undermining user confidence in the product’s reliability.
[0004] Another significant drawback of conventional toilet seat covers is their negative impact on sewage and plumbing systems. Many seat covers are made from materials that do not disintegrate quickly in water, leading to clogging in sewage systems and contributing to environmental waste. Despite being labeled as "flushable," some covers are not designed to break down efficiently after disposal, causing blockages in pipes and increasing maintenance costs for plumbing infrastructure.
[0005] In terms of user experience, traditional toilet seat covers are often uncomfortable. The thin, rigid material of many covers does little to enhance the seating experience, and can even bunch up or wrinkle, causing discomfort. Furthermore, some covers absorb moisture from the toilet seat, which may lead to an unpleasant sensation for the user. This discomfort can deter individuals from using toilet seat covers, especially in high-use public restrooms.
[0006] Another practical issue with conventional toilet seat covers is the likelihood of them running out in a restroom stall. In many public restrooms, the supply of seat covers is limited, and the covers are not always refilled in a timely manner. This leaves users without a sanitary barrier, forcing them to use alternative methods, such as makeshift covers made from toilet paper, which do not provide the same level of hygiene or convenience. The frequent unavailability of covers also undermines user trust in the sanitary options provided by the facility.
[0007] There is a need for an improved toilet seat cover that addresses these any other limitations of conventional toilet seat covers.SUMMARY OF INVENTIONTechnical Problem
[0008] Conventional toilet seat covers present several significant issues. They often slip or shift on the toilet seat, reducing their effectiveness as a hygienic barrier. Many covers also do not degrade properly after flushing, leading to clogs and blockages in plumbing systems. In terms of comfort, users frequently find the thin, rigid materials uncomfortable, as they can bunch up or wrinkle. A common frustration is that toilet seat covers often run out in public restroom stalls, leaving users without a sanitary option. Furthermore, the materials used in these covers offer minimal protection against bacteria, viruses, or moisture due to their thin and absorbent nature. Additionally, toilet seat covers fail to provide any odor mitigation. Finally, many conventional toilet seat covers contribute to environmental waste, as they are not biodegradable and can harm sewage systems and landfills.Solution to Problem

[0094] FIG.7 shows an elevated view of the cover carrying case (600) with a cover lid in an open position. The cover carrying case comprises a body (601) and the cover lid coupled to the body by a hinge (605). The hinge may comprise a living hinge. The body comprises a body width (602) with the lid coupled along the body width. Disposed within the body is a plurality of elongated chambers (606) arranged in parallel formation along the body width. Between each pair of the plurality of elongated chambers is a barrier (607) for dividing each of the plurality of elongated chambers. The plurality of elongated chambers is configured to hold a plurality of toilet seat liners by rolling each of the plurality of toilet seat liners and nesting each within one of the plurality of elongated chambers. The storage compartment allows for a compact means of transporting the plurality of toilet seat liners for personal use while on the go. The lid comprises lid support members (609) for providing rigidity to the lid while reducing material. An eyelet (608) is disposed on a side of the body.
[0095] FIG. 8A-8B show the cover carrying case (600) according to the sixth illustrated embodiment. The cover carrying case comprises a cover lid (604) hingedly coupled to a body (601). The body comprises a body width (602) and a body depth (603). In some embodiments, the body width is at least four times the body depth. A hinge (605) is disposed between the lid and body. The lid may comprise a living hinge between the lid and body or may comprise a separate and distinct structure. Disposed within the body is a plurality of elongated chambers (606) aligned serially along the body width. Each of the plurality of elongated chambers is characterized as comprising a cylindrical hollow volume in order to receive a rolled toilet seat liner.
[0096] FIG.9 shows a toilet seat cover (700) and an individualized disposable sheath. The toilet seat cover comprises a rolled configuration characterized as being a relative cylindrical shape in order to fit compactly within the cover carrying case (600). Conventional toilet seat covers are generally flat or nearly flat where area is maximized in order to provide room for stacking conventional toilet seat covers on top of one another. The flat configuration has been preferred when toilet seat covers are being provided by a business and storage within a bathroom stall is a priority. However, for purposes of personal transportation of the toilet seat cover, a more compact form allows for easier carrying by a purse, pocket, or keys. In some embodiments, the rolled toilet seat covers may each be individually packaged within an individualized disposable wrapper (720). The disposable wrapper may be shrink-wrapped in order to conserve space. In some embodiments, the material of the disposable wrappers may comprise a water-soluble material in order to dissolve inside a toilet bowl. In some embodiments, the disposable wrapper may comprise an odor neutralizing formulation (712) integrated within the disposable wrapper. The odor neutralizing formulation may be disposed within a package that is coupled to an interior or exterior of the disposable wrapper while being independent from the toilet seat cover. Alternatively, the odor neutralizing formulation may be disposed within and decoupled from the disposable wrapper while being independent from the toilet seat cover. Alternatively, the odor neutralizing formulation may be impregnated within the material of the disposable wrapper.
[0097] When a user removes the toilet seat cover (700) from the disposable wrapper, they can simply put the wrapper into the toilet bowl which will dissolve and release any odor neutralizing formulation (712) integrated therewith.
