Abstract

The utility model relates to the field of building, and more particularly to devices for applying materials (putty, plaster and the like) to working surfaces and for smoothing same. A putty knife comprises metal working blade members (1) and (2), and also angular supporting elements (3) and (4) with sides that are perpendicular to one another. Attached to one of the sides of the respective supporting elements (3) and (4) are the metal working blade members (1) and (2), while the other sector-shaped sides (5) and (6) of the aforesaid elements are arranged in mutually parallel planes such as to be movable in relation to one another and fixable in the desired position relative to one another by means of arcuate slots (7), a clamping screw and a pin in a handle (8). The edge faces of the adjacent flat supporting elements (3) and (4) are situated on the same axis and have bevels (9) that provide for constant contact between the slanted surfaces of the elements irrespective of the relative angular position thereof. As a result, there is never a gap between the adjacent edge faces of the working blade members when the putty knife is open at any angle between 90° and 180°. The putty knife makes it possible to apply putty to the surface of an inside corner without leaving surplus material and without the need for additional operations to remove same.

Description

[0001] Corner spatula for internal corners

[0002] Field of technology

[0003] The utility model relates to the field of construction, namely to devices for applying materials (putty, plaster, etc.) to treated surfaces and leveling them.

[0004] Prior art

[0005] A spatula is known (RU patent No. 206293), which has two flexible plates located at an angle to each other and a handle, as well as a support element made in the form of two rigid, inflexible, symmetrical sector-shaped parts, which are connected to each other with their sides at an angle of 95-110 °. Flexible plates are also made in a sector-shaped form and are attached to the corresponding parts of the support element. The tops of the parts of the support element and the flexible plates are located at one point, and along the line of connection of the parts of the support element and the flexible plates in the area near their angular connection, a set of through holes is made. The angular spatula allows the plates to apply putty to the corner with maximum quality, without radius and plane distortion, forming a clear junction of two planes in the inner corner without defects, ensures the removal of excess putty through the through holes, which reduces the time for further grinding and defect detection of inner corners.

[0006] A known angular spatula for internal corners includes metal working plates and a handle, and is provided with angular support elements with sides perpendicular to each other, wherein metal working plates are attached to one side of the support elements, and their other sides are placed in planes parallel to each other with the possibility of relative movement and fixation in the desired position relative to each other using a clamping screw placed in arcuate slots made in the parallel sides of the support elements, and a nut secured in the end of the handle (see DE patent No. 19604887).

[0007] This technical solution, as the closest to the declared one in terms of technical essence and the achieved result, is accepted as its prototype.

[0008] The main disadvantage of the prototype is that the ends of the working metal plates cannot be on the same axis at any angular position of these working plates relative to each other. This is explained by the connection of narrow flat plates attached to the working metal plates of the spatula using a flat hinged door hinge. Such a design of the spatula for internal corners does not allow the highest quality of applying putty material to the surface of the internal corner without putty residues, which, due to the gap between the working plates, inevitably penetrate inside the spatula and remain on the surface of the internal corner, and their elimination requires additional work.

[0009] Disclosure of invention

[0010] The objective of the utility model is to create a spatula that allows for the highest quality application of putty to any internal corner from a straight 90° corner to a 180° corner without leaving putty residue in the corner and the need for additional work to remove it.

[0011] The essence of the claimed technical solution is expressed in the following set of essential features, sufficient to solve the technical problem indicated by the applicant and to obtain the technical result provided by the utility model.

[0012] According to the utility model, an angular spatula for internal corners, including metal working plates and support elements, to the flat sides of which metal working plates are attached, and their other sector-shaped sides are located in planes parallel to each other, perpendicular to the planes of the flat sides, with the possibility of relative movement and fixation in the desired position relative to each other with the help of a clamping screw located in arcuate slots made in the sector-shaped sides of the support elements, and a nut fixed in the end of the handle, characterized in that the flat sides of the support elements and the sector-shaped sides are attached to each other, forming two angular support elements, wherein the ends of the adjacent flat sides of the angular support elements are located on the same axis and are provided with bevels that ensure constant contact between their beveled surfaces at any of their relative angular positions.

[0013] The applicant has not identified any sources containing information on technical solutions whose set of features coincides with the set of distinctive features of the declared technical solution, which allows us to conclude that it meets the “novelty” (N) condition.

[0014] The technical result achieved by using the claimed technical solution is that between the adjacent ends of the flat working plates, and, consequently, the ends of the working metal plates, there is never a gap at any angular opening of the spatula from 90° to 180°. Such a design of the spatula for internal corners allows for the highest quality application of the putty material to the surface of the internal corner without its residues and the need for additional work to eliminate them.

[0015] Best use of the invention

[0016] The essence of the claimed technical solution is explained by the drawing, in which Fig. 1 shows a general view of the claimed spatula, and Fig. 2 shows a general view of the claimed spatula for processing expanded corners.

[0017] The claimed spatula includes metal working plates 1 and 2, as well as angular support elements 3 and 4 with sides perpendicular to each other. Metal working plates 1 and 2 are attached to one side of the support elements 3 and 4, and their other sector-shaped sides 5 and 6 are placed in planes parallel to each other with the possibility of relative movement and fixation in the desired position relative to each other using arc-shaped slots 7, a clamping screw and a nut (not shown conditionally) on a pin in the handle 8.

[0018] The ends of the adjacent flat angular support elements 3 and 4 are located on the same axis and are provided with bevels 9, which ensure constant contact between their beveled surfaces at any of their relative angular positions. This leads to the fact that there is never a gap between the adjacent ends of the working plates at any angular opening of the spatula from 90° to 180°.

[0019] The declared spatula allows to form an internal angle with minimal labor costs during the process of filling or plastering walls in a wide range from 90° to 180° and significantly reduce the time of application and formation of internal angles, as well as the time for their subsequent grinding and defect detection.

[0020] Industrial applicability

[0021] The claimed device can be implemented using known equipment, technical and technological means and is intended for applying materials (putty, plaster, etc.) to the internal corners of the surfaces being treated and leveling them.
