[0003] An electric motor, a wheel, and a drive device for an electric vehicle are known from the prior art, as described in WO 00 / 42696 A1. The drive device comprises a motor including a stator assembly and a rotor assembly, the stator assembly including a ferrous stator core. The drive device further includes a brake assembly biased to prevent rotation of the rotor assembly. The brake assembly includes brake release means operable to allow substantially free rotation of the rotor assembly. The brake release means includes a ferrous element and an electromagnet operable to exert an attractive force on the ferrous element. [0004] The invention is based on the object of providing a wheel hub drive device for a motor vehicle which is improved compared to the prior art.
[0005] The object is achieved according to the invention by a wheel hub drive device for a motor vehicle having the features of claim 1.
[0006] Advantageous embodiments of the invention are the subject of the subclaims.
[0007] A wheel hub drive device for a motor vehicle comprises a wheel carrier, a wheel having a rim and a wheel disc connected or connectable to the rim in a rotationally fixed manner, and a wheel bearing device by means of which the wheel disc is rotatably mounted directly or indirectly relative to the wheel carrier. The wheel bearing device comprises a first wheel bearing and a second wheel bearing axially spaced from the first wheel bearing and designed separately. The wheel hub drive device further comprises an electric machine having a rotor connected or connectable to the wheel disc in a rotationally fixed manner, and a stator connected to the wheel carrier in a rotationally fixed manner. The wheel hub drive device also comprises a braking device having a friction region.
[0008] According to the invention, the wheel hub drive device further comprises a sleeve which is connected in a rotationally fixed manner to the wheel disc and which is arranged radially inside the first wheel bearing and radially inside the second wheel bearing, wherein a first inner, in particular radially inner, bearing ring of the first wheel bearing and a second inner, in particular radially inner, bearing ring of the second wheel bearing are directly connected to the sleeve.
[0009] The first wheel bearing and the second wheel bearing are designed in particular as angular contact roller bearings, in particular as angular contact roller bearings in an O arrangement.
[0010] The term “direct connection of the respective inner bearing ring to the sleeve” means that the respective inner bearing ring bears directly against the sleeve without any further, particularly annular, component being arranged between the respective inner bearing ring and the sleeve, so that no further component is arranged radially between and axially overlapping the respective inner bearing ring and the sleeve.
[0011] In one embodiment, the friction region is arranged axially on a side of the electric machine facing the wheel carrier.
[0012] In one embodiment, the first wheel bearing is arranged axially on a side of the rotor facing away from the wheel disc.
[0013] In one embodiment, the second wheel bearing is arranged axially overlapping the rotor. In one embodiment, with respect to an intended installation position in the motor vehicle, the wheel disc, the stator, and the friction region are arranged one after the other in the specified order, viewed from the axial outside to the axial inside.
[0014] In one embodiment, a fastening ring is connected to the wheel disc in a rotationally fixed manner and is designed to connect the rim to the wheel disc in a rotationally fixed but detachable manner. In particular, it is provided that the rim is connected to the wheel disc in a rotationally fixed but detachable manner by means of the fastening ring. In particular, it is provided that the fastening ring is arranged axially on a side of an axial stator center facing away from the friction region. The fastening ring, which in particular forms a connection point between the rim and the wheel disc, is arranged, in particular, axially on the outside with respect to a vehicle center of the motor vehicle.
[0015] In one embodiment, the fastening ring is arranged radially outside the stator.
[0016] In one embodiment, the fastening ring has fastening ring bores for receiving rim fastening screws, by means of which the rim can be or is connected to the wheel disc in a rotationally fixed manner.
[0017] In one embodiment, the electric machine is designed as an axial flux machine and as an external rotor, wherein a rotor carrier has a first plate element, a cylinder element arranged radially outside the stator and a second plate element.
[0018] In one embodiment, the fastening ring, the cylinder element, the second plate element, and the wheel disc are formed in one piece. In particular, the second plate element radially overlaps the entire stator. In particular, the second plate element is arranged axially on a side of the stator facing away from the wheel carrier.
[0019] In one embodiment, the first plate element is connected to the cylinder element by a screw connection.
[0020] In one embodiment, the wheel hub drive device has a sealing system for the electric motor. The sealing system has, in particular, a first sealing point and a second sealing point. The first sealing point is, in particular, integrated into the first wheel bearing and / or the second wheel bearing. The second sealing point is, in particular, arranged radially within the first plate element. It is, in particular, designed to directly or indirectly seal the first plate element from the sleeve.
[0021] In one embodiment, the first wheel bearing is arranged radially overlapping the second wheel bearing.
[0022] In one embodiment, the braking device comprises a brake disc. The braking device is thus designed, in particular, as a disc brake.
[0023] In one embodiment, a brake disc carrier for the rotationally fixed connection of the brake disc to the rotor is formed integrally with the cylinder element or is connected to the cylinder element.
[0024] In one embodiment, the brake disc carrier is formed integrally with the first plate element or is connected to the first plate element for the rotationally fixed connection of the brake disc to the rotor.
[0025] In both embodiments, the brake disc is thus connected to the rotor carrier of the rotor in a rotationally fixed manner via the brake disc carrier, so that the rotor, in particular its rotor carrier, transmits the braking torque. This means that the braking torque is transmitted from the brake disc, braked by the braking device, in particular by the brake pads of the braking device, via the brake disc carrier to the rotor carrier of the rotor, and from there to the wheel, in particular initially to the wheel disc as a component of the rotor carrier and simultaneously of the wheel, and from there to the rim connected to it in a rotationally fixed manner, and thus to a tire of the motor vehicle arranged on the rim.
[0026] In one embodiment, the brake disc carrier is arranged radially outside the stator and radially overlapping the fastening ring, in particular when the brake disc carrier is designed as a single piece with the cylinder element or is connected to the cylinder element for the rotationally fixed connection of the brake disc to the rotor. In particular, in this embodiment, a brake caliper of the braking device is designed as an inner caliper, i.e. it is provided in particular that the brake caliper is arranged on a radial inner circumference of the brake disc. In one embodiment, the brake disc carrier is arranged radially overlapping the stator, in particular when the brake disc carrier is designed as a single piece with the first plate element or is connected to the first plate element for the rotationally fixed connection of the brake disc to the rotor. In particular, in this embodiment, a brake caliper of the braking device is designed as an outer caliper. I.e.In particular, it is provided that the brake calliper is arranged on a radial outer circumference of the brake disc.
[0027] In the described solution, the wheel, comprising the wheel disc and the rim, is designed in particular as a split wheel. The rim and wheel disc are designed in particular as separate units and are connectable or connected to one another in a rotationally fixed but detachable manner, and in this connected state, they can thus also be separated again, i.e., detached from one another. To change a wheel or tire, only the rim is removed, i.e., from the wheel disc and thus from the motor vehicle. The wheel disc of the wheel advantageously remains on the motor vehicle. This makes it possible to change the tire without having to dismantle the entire electric motor.
[0028] The described solution is particularly advantageous with regard to an axial installation space dimension, ie the described solution enables a particularly small design in the axial direction.
[0029] In the described solution, the wheel disc simultaneously forms a rotor housing for the rotor of the electric motor. This achieves functional integration, eliminating the need for an additional housing for the rotor. This results in a corresponding weight reduction.
[0030] In the described solution, it is particularly provided that the wheel, including the rotor, is mounted on the wheel carrier or components connected thereto via the sleeve, which is particularly designed as a shaft, in particular a hollow shaft, and the wheel bearings, which are particularly designed as rolling bearings. The sleeve, which is particularly designed as a hollow shaft, is clamped to the wheel bearings, in particular via a clamping nut.
[0031] Sealing of the wheel hub drive device is achieved, in particular, by a static bearing cap, which eliminates the need for two radial shaft seals of a conventional wheel bearing and the associated drag losses; by the second sealing point, here in particular by means of a radial shaft seal, in particular on the rotor; and by the sleeve, which is designed to be closed, in particular on a side facing the rim; and advantageously also by the first sealing point. Due to the small number of seals required, drag losses are kept particularly low.
[0032] In the context of the present application, the term “integrally formed” is to be understood in particular as meaning that the components mentioned, which are integrally formed together, are manufactured as a cast part or as a forged part in one piece, in particular without joints or adhesive points.
[0033] In the context of the present application, the term "external rotor" is used as follows: The stator is connected to the wheel carrier on its radially inner side. At least one rotor carrier section, in particular the cylindrical element of the rotor carrier, is arranged radially outside the stator. In the present application and the specific design as an axial flux machine, one rotor carrier section, in particular the cylindrical element of the rotor carrier, is arranged radially outside the stator and axially overlapping the stator.
[0034] In the context of the present application, the term “wheel” is understood in particular to mean a unit comprising a wheel disc and a rim. In the present application, it is particularly provided that the rotor carrier, in particular its second plate element, forms the wheel disc. The rim is connected to this wheel disc, i.e. in particular to the second plate element of the rotor carrier, in a rotationally fixed but detachable manner. In this state, the “wheel” unit is formed. By detaching the rim, this “wheel” unit can be disassembled, with the rotor carrier and thus its second plate element forming the wheel disc remaining on the motor vehicle. For example, in order to change a tire, the rim can be removed from the motor vehicle in this way and remounted thereon after the tire has been changed.
[0035] In the context of this application, the term "main axis of rotation" is used as follows: the axis of rotation of the rotor and, at the same time, the axis of rotation of the rim. The terms "axial" and "radial" refer to this axis.
[0036] In the context of the present application, the term "rotationally fixed" is used as follows: Two elements are rotationally fixed if they are arranged coaxially to one another (relative to their axis of rotation or relative to an axis of rotational symmetry) and if they are connected to one another in such a way that they always rotate at the same angular velocity. An element is rotationally fixed to a housing if it cannot be rotated relative to the housing. In the context of the present application, the term "radially overlapping" is used as follows: Two (in particular essentially rotationally symmetrical) elements are arranged radially overlapping with respect to a common axis if they are each at least partially arranged in a region of the same radial coordinates (and in particular the same angular coordinates).
[0037] In the context of the present application, the term "axially overlapping" is used as follows: Two elements are arranged axially overlapping with respect to a common axis if they are at least partially arranged in a region of the same axial coordinates.
[0038] In the context of the present application, “radially within...” means in particular that something is arranged in a region of smaller radii, relative to the wheel rotation axis, ie in particular the main rotation axis.
[0039] In the context of the present application, "axially within..." means, in particular, that it is arranged axially on the side toward the center of the vehicle, with respect to the assumed installed state in the motor vehicle. The center of the vehicle in the context of this application is, in particular, a center point of the vehicle on a transverse axis of the vehicle, i.e., the center of the vehicle in the transverse direction of the vehicle.
[0040] In the context of the present application, the cylinder element of the rotor carrier is understood to be in particular the part of the rotor carrier which is arranged axially overlapping the stator.
[0041] Embodiments of the invention are explained in more detail below with reference to drawings.
[0042] Showing:
[0043] Fig. 1 shows schematically a sectional view of an embodiment of a wheel hub drive device for a motor vehicle, and
[0044] Fig. 2 shows a schematic sectional view of another embodiment of a wheel hub drive device for a motor vehicle. Corresponding parts are provided with the same reference numerals in all figures.
[0045] Figures 1 and 2 show sectional views of two exemplary embodiments of a wheel hub drive device 1 for a motor vehicle. For reasons of clarity, the wheel hub drive device 1 is shown only up to a main axis of rotation A, i.e., only one, in particular upper, half of the wheel hub drive device 1 is shown.
[0046] The following first describes the common features of both embodiments. Then, the features in which the two embodiments differ from each other are described.
[0047] The wheel hub drive device 1 comprises a wheel carrier 2, a wheel 3 having a rim 4 and a wheel disc 5 connected in a rotationally fixed manner to the rim 4, and a wheel bearing device 6 by means of which the wheel disc 5 is rotatably mounted directly or indirectly relative to the wheel carrier 2. The wheel bearing device 6 comprises a first wheel bearing 7 and a second wheel bearing 8, axially spaced from the first wheel bearing 7 and designed separately.
[0048] The first wheel bearing 7 and the second wheel bearing 8 are designed, in particular, as tapered roller bearings in an O-arrangement. The respective wheel bearing 7, 8 has, in particular, an inner, in particular radially inner, bearing ring 17, 18 and an outer, in particular radially outer, bearing ring 19, 20. Rolling elements 21, in particular rollers, are arranged between the respective inner bearing ring 17, 18 and outer bearing ring 19, 20.
[0049] The wheel hub drive device 1 further comprises an electric machine 9, which has a rotor 10 that is or can be connected in a rotationally fixed manner to the wheel disc 5 and a stator 11 that is rotationally fixedly connected to the wheel carrier 2. In the illustrated embodiments, the stator 11 is rotationally fixedly connected to the wheel carrier 2 by means of a stator carrier 12. In the illustrated embodiments, lines 13 run through the stator carrier 12 into the stator 11.
[0050] In the illustrated embodiments, the first wheel bearing 7 is arranged axially on a side of the rotor 10 facing away from the wheel disc 5. In the illustrated embodiments, the second wheel bearing 8 is arranged axially overlapping the rotor 10. In the illustrated embodiments, the first wheel bearing 7 is arranged radially overlapping the second wheel bearing 8.
[0051] The wheel hub drive device 1 also has a braking device 14 having a friction region 15. In the illustrated embodiments, the friction region 15 is arranged axially on a side of the electric machine 9 facing the wheel carrier 2. In the illustrated embodiments, with respect to an intended installation position in the motor vehicle, viewed from the axial outside to the axial inside, i.e., from the outside toward a vehicle center with respect to a transverse axis of the motor vehicle, the wheel disc 5, the stator 11, and the friction region 15 are arranged one after the other in the stated order.
[0052] Furthermore, the wheel hub drive device 1 has a sleeve 16, particularly designed as a hollow shaft, which is connected in a rotationally fixed manner to the wheel disc 5 and is arranged radially inside the first wheel bearing 7 and radially inside the second wheel bearing 8. In particular, it is provided that the first inner bearing ring 17 of the first wheel bearing 7 and the second inner bearing ring 18 of the second wheel bearing 8 are directly connected to the sleeve 16. In the illustrated embodiments, the sleeve 16 is clamped to the wheel bearings 7, 8 via a clamping nut 22.
[0053] In the illustrated embodiments, a fastening ring 23 is connected to the wheel disc 5 in a rotationally fixed manner and is designed to connect the rim 4 to the wheel disc 5 in a rotationally fixed but detachable manner. For this purpose, in the illustrated embodiments, it has fastening ring bores 24 for receiving rim fastening screws 25, by means of which the rim 4 is or can be connected to the fastening ring 23 and thus to the wheel disc 5 in a rotationally fixed manner.
[0054] In the illustrated embodiments, the rim 4 is connected to the wheel disc 5 in a rotationally fixed but detachable manner by means of this fastening ring 23 and the rim fastening screws 25. For this purpose, the rim fastening screws 25 are accommodated in the fastening ring bores 24.
[0055] In the illustrated embodiments, this fastening ring 23 is arranged axially on a side of an axial stator center ASM facing away from the friction region 15. In particular, the fastening ring 23, which forms a connection point between the rim 4 and the wheel disc 5, is arranged axially outward relative to the vehicle center of the motor vehicle. In particular, it is arranged radially outside the stator 11. In the described solution, the wheel 3, comprising the wheel disc 5 and the rim 4, is thus designed as a split wheel 3. The rim 4 and wheel disc 5 are designed separately and are rotatably but detachably connectable or connected to one another, and in this connected state can thus also be separated again, i.e., detachable from one another. To change a wheel or tire, only the rim 4 is removed, i.e., from the wheel disc 5 and thus from the motor vehicle. The wheel disc 5 of the wheel 3 remains on the motor vehicle. This makes it possible to change the tire without having to dismantle the entire electric machine 9.
[0056] In the illustrated embodiments, the electric machine 9 is designed as an axial flux machine and as an external rotor, with a rotor carrier 26 comprising a first plate element 27, a cylinder element 28 arranged radially outside the stator 11, and a second plate element 29. In the illustrated embodiments, the fastening ring 23, the cylinder element 28, the second plate element 29, and the wheel disc 5 are formed in one piece.
[0057] In the illustrated embodiments, the first plate element 27 is connected to the cylinder element 28 by a screw connection 30.
[0058] In the illustrated embodiments, the second plate element 29 radially overlaps the entire stator 11. In the illustrated embodiments, the second plate element 29 is arranged axially on a side of the stator 11 facing away from the wheel carrier 2.
[0059] In the illustrated embodiments, the wheel hub drive device 1 has a sealing system for the electric machine 9, which has a first sealing point 31 and a second sealing point 32, wherein the first sealing point 31 is integrated in particular into the first wheel bearing 7 and / or into the second wheel bearing 8 and the second sealing point 32 is arranged in particular radially inside the first plate element 27 and is designed in particular to seal the first plate element 27 directly or indirectly with respect to the sleeve 16.
[0060] In the illustrated embodiments, the first sealing point 31 has two seals, each sealingly arranged between the sleeve 16 and the wheel carrier 2 and axially spaced from one another, in particular between the first and second wheel bearings 7, 8. The second sealing point 32, in the illustrated embodiments, has a seal sealingly arranged between the first plate element 27 and the stator carrier 12.
[0061] In the illustrated embodiments, a bearing cap 33 is further provided, which in the illustrated embodiments is connected in a rotationally fixed manner to the wheel carrier 2 via a bearing cap screw connection 34. It is arranged axially on a side of the sleeve 16 facing the vehicle center and radially overlaps the wheel bearing device 6 and the sleeve 16, thus covering a front end of the sleeve 16 facing the vehicle center. In the illustrated embodiments, the sleeve 16 is closed at the other end, i.e., the front end facing away from the vehicle center.
[0062] In the described solution, it is therefore provided in particular that the wheel 3, including the rotor 10, is mounted on the wheel carrier 2 or components connected thereto via the sleeve 16 and the wheel bearings 7, 8. Sealing of the wheel hub drive device 1 is achieved in particular by the static bearing cover 33, by the second sealing point 32, here in particular by means of a radial shaft seal, and by the sleeve 16, which is designed to be closed, in particular on a side facing the rim 4, and advantageously also by the first sealing point 31. Due to the small number of seals required, drag losses are kept particularly low.
[0063] In the illustrated embodiments, the braking device 14 has a brake disc 35. The braking device 14 is thus designed as a disc brake.
[0064] In the illustrated embodiments, the brake disc 35 is connected in a rotationally fixed manner to the rotor carrier 26 of the rotor 10 via a brake disc carrier 36, so that the rotor 10, in particular its rotor carrier 26, transmits the braking torque.
[0065] This means that the braking torque is transmitted from the brake disc 35, braked by the braking device 14, in particular by the brake pads of the braking device 14, via the brake disc carrier 36 to the rotor carrier 26 of the rotor 10 and from there to the wheel 3, in particular initially to the wheel disc 5 and from there to the rim 4 connected thereto in a rotationally fixed manner, and thus to a tire of the motor vehicle arranged on the rim 4. The two embodiments according to Figures 1 and 2 differ from one another in particular with regard to the design and arrangement of the brake disc carrier 36 and a brake caliper 37 of the braking device 14.
[0066] In the embodiment according to Figure 1, a brake disc carrier 36 is formed integrally with the cylinder element 28. Alternatively, the brake disc carrier 36 is connected, for example, to the cylinder element 28.
[0067] In the embodiment according to Figure 2, the brake disc carrier 36 is formed integrally with the first plate element 27. Alternatively, the brake disc carrier 36 is connected, for example, to the first plate element 27.
[0068] In the embodiment according to Figure 1, the brake disc carrier 36 is arranged radially outside the stator 11 and radially overlapping the fastening ring 23.
