[0029] According to the present invention, it is possible to provide a bathroom safety management system and a bathroom safety management method that can manage bathroom safety.
[0030] 1 is a schematic diagram showing a bathroom safety management system according to an embodiment.
[0031] The following describes embodiments of the present invention. However, it should not be understood that the following embodiments limit the present invention. From this disclosure, various alternative embodiments, examples, and operating techniques will become apparent to those skilled in the art. It should be understood that the present invention encompasses various embodiments not described herein.
[0032] 1 , the bathroom safety management system according to the embodiment includes a drowning notification data acquisition unit 301 that acquires drowning notification data notifying the drowning of a person 10 in a bathtub 101 of a bathroom 100, and a drain instruction unit 302 that, when the drowning notification data acquisition unit 301 acquires the drowning notification data, transmits drain instruction data to drain the water in the bathtub 101. The drowning notification data acquisition unit 301 and the drain instruction unit 302 are included in, for example, a computer system 300.
[0033] The computer system 300 may be located near or remote from the bathroom 100. The bathroom 100 may be located, for example, in a residence such as a detached house or an apartment building, or in a public facility such as a lodging facility, a dormitory, a nursing home, a care facility, or a hospital.
[0034] The bathroom safety management system according to the embodiment may further include a personal information acquisition unit 314 that acquires personal information of the person 10. For example, a facial recognition device may be provided at the entrance to the changing room of the bathroom 100. The facial recognition device may identify the name of the person 10 from the face of the person 10 and transmit the personal information of the person 10 to the personal information acquisition unit 314 via a network or the like. The personal information acquisition unit 314 stores the received personal information of the person 10 in the data storage device 303. Alternatively, the bathroom 100 may be provided with a personal identification device that identifies the person 10 by detecting the height and build of the person 10. The personal identification device may identify the name of the person 10 from the height and build of the person 10 and transmit the personal information of the person 10 to the personal information acquisition unit 314 via a network or the like. The personal identification device in the bathroom 100 is preferably a device that enables identification of the person 10 without photographing the naked body of the person 10.
[0035] For example, a drowning detector 201 is installed in the bathroom 100 to detect whether the person 10 has drowned in the water in the bathtub 101. The water may be cold or hot, and the temperature of the water is not limited. The method by which the drowning detector 201 detects the drowning of the person 10 is not particularly limited. For example, the drowning detector 201 may detect the position of the head of the person 10 using an ultrasonic sensor, a radio wave sensor such as a millimeter wave or microwave, or an infrared sensor, and determine that the person 10 is drowning if the head position is below the water surface for a predetermined time. Alternatively, the drowning detector 201 may detect the person's breathing and heartbeat to detect the drowning of the person 10. Note that if it is determined after a predetermined time based on the movement of the person 10 that the person 10 is not drowning, the drowning detector 201 may cancel the determination that the person 10 is drowning.
[0036] The drowning detector 201 may be provided in the bathtub 101. For example, the drowning detector 201 may detect the drowning of the person 10 from a change in the water level in the bathtub 101. Alternatively, the drowning detector 201 may be a wearable terminal worn by the person 10. The drowning detector 201 may include, for example, an acceleration sensor and a water pressure sensor, and detect the drowning of the person 10 from the movement and water pressure of the person 10. The drowning detector 201 may include, for example, a heart rate sensor, and detect the drowning of the person 10 based on the heart rate of the person 10. The drowning detector 201 transmits drowning notification data to the drowning notification data acquisition unit 301 via a network or the like. The drowning notification data acquisition unit 301 stores the received drowning notification data in the data storage device 303.
[0037] Bathtub 101 is provided with bathtub valve 102. When drowning notification data acquisition unit 301 acquires drowning notification data, drain instruction unit 302 transmits drain instruction data to bathtub valve 102 via a network or the like to drain the water in bathtub 101. Upon receiving the drain instruction data, bathtub valve 102 opens and drains the water in bathtub 101. Bathtub valve 102 may be treated to prevent hair from getting tangled therein. Multiple bathtub valves 102 may be provided on the bottom or side of bathtub 101. This reduces the possibility that bathtub valve 102 will be blocked by person 10. When the drowning determination is canceled or when rescue of person 10 is completed, bathtub valve 102 may close.
[0038] Bathroom 100 may be provided with an alarm 107. When drowning notification data acquisition unit 301 acquires drowning notification data, it instructs alarm 107 to issue an alarm via a network or the like. Alarm 107 issues an alarm sound or alarm light. For example, if drowning is caused by dozing, the alarm can help person 10 regain consciousness.
[0039] The bathroom safety management system according to the embodiment may further include a rescue request transmitter 304 that transmits a rescue request when the drowning notification data acquirer 301 acquires the drowning notification data. For example, the bathroom safety management system according to the embodiment may further include a rescuer data acquirer 305 that acquires data on the rescuer 21A who is closest to the bathroom 100 among the multiple rescuers 21A, 21B, 21C, etc., and the rescue request transmitter 304 may transmit the rescue request to the rescuer 21A who is closest to the bathroom 100. The rescue request transmitter 304 may transmit personal information of the person 10. The multiple rescuers 21A, 21B, 21C, etc. may be family members, nursing home staff, hospital caregivers, nurses, or doctors.
[0040] For example, the rescuers 21A, 21B, 21C, etc. may have location information transmitters 202A, 202B, 202C, etc., respectively. The location information transmitters 202A, 202B, 202C, etc. measure the locations of the rescuers 21A, 21B, 21C, etc., using a positioning system such as the Global Positioning System (GPS), and transmit the measured locations to the rescuer data acquiring unit 305 via a network, etc. Alternatively, the location information transmitters 202A, 202B, 202C, etc. may be beacons. The rescuer data acquiring unit 305 stores the received location data of the rescuers 21A, 21B, 21C, etc., in the data storage device 303.
[0041] The rescuer data acquiring unit 305 compares the received position data of each of the rescuers 21A, 21B, 21C, ..., sorts the rescuers 21A, 21B, 21C, ... according to their distance from the bathroom 100, and acquires the data of the rescuer 21A who is closest to the bathroom 100. The rescuer data acquiring unit 305 stores the acquired data of the rescuer 21A who is closest to the bathroom 100 and the sorted data of the rescuers 21A, 21B, 21C, ... in the data storage device 303.
[0042] The rescue request transmitting unit 304 reads out data of the rescuer 21A closest to the bathroom 100 from the data storage device 303. For example, the rescuers 21A, 21B, 21C, etc. may have calling devices 207A, 207B, 207C, etc., respectively. The calling devices 207A, 207B, 207C, etc., may be, for example, mobile phones, PHS phones, or transceivers. The rescue request transmitting unit 304 transmits a rescue request for the person 10 drowning in the bathroom 100 to the calling device 207A of the rescuer 21A closest to the bathroom 100. The rescue request may be a short message or an email.
[0043] The rescuer 21A closest to the bathroom 100 may transmit a reception confirmation to the rescue request transmitting unit 304. In response to this, the rescue request transmitting unit 304 may cancel the rescue request. If a reception confirmation is not transmitted from the rescuer 21A closest to the bathroom 100, the rescue request transmitting unit 304 may sequentially transmit a rescue request to rescuers closest in distance from the bathroom 100. If no reception confirmation is received even after transmitting rescue requests to a predetermined number of rescuers, the rescue request transmitting unit 304 may transmit rescue requests to all rescuers. The calling devices 207A, 207B, 207C, etc. may be located in rooms where the rescuers 21A, 21B, 21C, etc. are present.
[0044] In addition, the rescue request sending unit 304 may send data including the location of the bathroom 100, the possibility that the person 10 is drowning, personal information of the person 10, and instructions to transport the person 10 to emergency services, for example, a fire department, a hospital, a security company, or a private emergency service provider.
[0045] The bathroom safety management system according to the embodiment may further include a temperature data acquisition unit 306 that acquires temperature data of the bathroom 100, and a temperature control unit 307 that controls the temperature of the bathtub 101 after the water in the bathtub 101 has been drained. The bathroom 100 may be provided with, for example, a bathroom thermometer 202 that measures the temperature of the bathroom 100. The bathroom 100 may also be provided with, for example, an air conditioning unit 203 that adjusts the temperature of the bathroom 100.
[0046] Bathroom thermometer 202 transmits data on the measured temperature of bathroom 100 to temperature data acquisition unit 306 via a network or the like. Temperature data acquisition unit 306 stores the received bathroom 100 temperature data in data storage device 303. Temperature control unit 307 monitors the temperature of bathroom 100 after drain instruction unit 302 transmits the drain instruction data, and transmits temperature control instruction data to air conditioner 203 via a network or the like so that the temperature in bathroom 100 becomes a temperature that can sustain the life of a naked person 10 in bathtub 101. Air conditioner 203 receives the temperature control instruction data and adjusts the temperature in bathroom 100 in accordance with the temperature control instruction data.
[0047] The bathroom safety management system according to the embodiment may further include a fall notification data acquisition unit 308 that acquires fall notification data that notifies of a fall by human being 10. The bathroom safety management system according to the embodiment may further include a shower stop instruction unit 309 that, when the fall notification data acquisition unit 308 acquires the fall notification data, transmits shower stop instruction data to stop the shower 103 in the bathroom 100. The bathroom 100 may be provided with, for example, a fall detector 204 that detects a fall by human being 10. The bathroom 100 may also be provided with, for example, a supply valve 104 that controls the supply of water to the shower 103.
[0048] For example, the fall detector 204 may detect the movement of the human 10 using an ultrasonic sensor, a radio wave sensor such as a millimeter wave or microwave sensor, or an infrared sensor, and detect a fall of the human 10. Alternatively, the drowning detector 201 may detect the breathing and heart rate of the human and detect a fall of the human 10. Furthermore, the fall detector 204 may be a wearable terminal worn by the human 10. The fall detector 204 may include, for example, an acceleration sensor and detect a fall of the human 10 from the movement of the human 10. The drowning detector 201 may include, for example, a heart rate sensor and detect a fall of the human 10 based on the heart rate of the human 10. After determining that a fall has occurred, if it is determined that the posture and position of the human 10 are normal, the determination that the human 10 has fallen may be canceled.
[0049] The bathroom 100 may be provided with a notification signal output device 106 that outputs a notification signal. The notification signal output device 106 may be, for example, a display and a speaker. The notification signal output device 106 may prompt the person 10 to speak about their condition. If the person 10 speaks that they have not fallen, the determination that the person 10 has fallen may be canceled.
[0050] When the fall detector 204 detects a fall of the person 10, it transmits fall notification data to the fall notification data acquisition unit 308 via a network or the like. The fall notification data acquisition unit 308 stores the received fall notification data in the data storage device 303. When the fall notification data acquisition unit 308 acquires the fall notification data, the shower stop instruction unit 309 transmits shower stop instruction data to the supply valve 104 via a network or the like. Upon receiving the shower stop instruction data, the supply valve 104 closes and stops the release of water from the shower 103. This makes it possible to prevent the release of water from accelerating bleeding of the person 10. When the fall determination is canceled or when the rescue of the person 10 is completed, the release of water from the shower 103 may be resumed.
[0051] When the fall notification data acquisition unit 308 acquires the fall notification data, the rescue request transmission unit 304 may transmit a rescue request for the person 10 who has fallen in the bathroom 100 to the call device 207A of the rescuer 21A closest to the bathroom 100. If a receipt confirmation is not transmitted from the rescuer 21A closest to the bathroom 100, the rescue request transmission unit 304 may sequentially transmit rescue requests to rescuers in order of distance from the bathroom 100. If a receipt confirmation is not transmitted even after transmitting rescue requests to a predetermined number of rescuers, the rescue request transmission unit 304 may transmit rescue requests to all rescuers. Furthermore, the rescue request transmission unit 304 may transmit data including the location of the bathroom 100, the possibility that the person 10 may have fallen, personal information of the person 10, and instructions to transport the person 10 to emergency services, for example, to a fire department, a hospital, a security company, a private ambulance service provider, etc. A transmitter for the person 10 to transmit a rescue request himself / herself may be installed in the bathroom 100.
[0052] Temperature control unit 307 monitors the temperature in bathroom 100 after shower stop instruction unit 309 sends the shower stop instruction data, and sends temperature control instruction data to air conditioner 203 via a network or the like so that the temperature in bathroom 100 is at a temperature that can sustain the life of a naked person 10 in bathroom 100. Air conditioner 203 receives the temperature control instruction data and adjusts the temperature in bathroom 100 in accordance with the temperature control instruction data.
[0053] Bathroom 100 may be provided with, for example, a bathtub thermometer 105 that measures the temperature of the water in bathtub 101. Bathtub thermometer 105 may be provided in a water heater. Bathtub thermometer 105 transmits the measured data on the temperature of the water in bathtub 101 to temperature data acquisition unit 306 via a network or the like. Temperature data acquisition unit 306 stores the received data on the temperature of the water in bathtub 101 in data storage device 303.
[0054] The bathroom safety management system according to the embodiment may further include a temperature difference determination unit 310 that determines whether the temperature difference between the temperature of the bathroom 100 and the temperature of the water in the bathtub 101 is equal to or greater than a threshold. The temperature difference determination unit 310 reads the temperature of the bathroom 100 and the temperature of the water in the bathtub 101, for example, from the data storage device 303. Furthermore, the temperature difference determination unit 310 calculates the temperature difference between the temperature of the bathroom 100 and the temperature of the water in the bathtub 101 and determines whether the temperature difference is equal to or greater than a predetermined threshold. If the temperature difference is equal to or greater than the threshold, the temperature control unit 307 transmits temperature control instruction data to the air conditioner 203 via a network or the like to raise the temperature of the bathroom 100 so as to prevent heat shock from occurring to the person 10 in the bathroom 100. The predetermined threshold is arbitrary, but may be, for example, 10°C. The predetermined threshold can be set arbitrarily. The air conditioner 203 receives the temperature control instruction data and adjusts the temperature in the bathroom 100 according to the temperature control instruction data.
[0055] The bathroom safety management system according to the embodiment may further include a notification signal transmitter 311 that transmits a temperature difference notification signal notifying the user that the temperature difference is equal to or greater than the threshold value when the temperature difference determination unit 310 determines that the temperature difference between the temperature of the bathroom 100 and the temperature of the water in the bathtub 101 is equal to or greater than the threshold value. The notification signal transmitter 311 transmits the temperature difference notification signal to the notification signal output device 106, for example, via a network. The notification signal output device 106 outputs the received temperature difference notification signal. This alerts the user 10 to a risk of heat shock. Furthermore, when the temperature control unit 307 raises the bathroom temperature so that the temperature difference between the temperature of the bathroom 100 and the temperature of the water in the bathtub 101 falls below the threshold value, the notification signal transmitter 311 may transmit a temperature difference notification signal to the notification signal transmitter 311, for example, via a network, notifying the user that the temperature difference is below the threshold value. This notifies the user 10 that the risk of heat shock has been eliminated.
[0056] The bathroom safety management system according to the embodiment may further include a vital data acquisition unit 312 that acquires vital data of a person, and a vital data determination unit 313 that determines whether the vital data is within a normal range. For example, a vital data measurement device 205 that measures vital data of the person 10 is installed in the bathroom 100. The vital data may include, for example, heart rate and respiration. For example, the drowning detector 201 acquires the vital data of the person 10 using an ultrasonic sensor, a radio wave sensor such as a millimeter wave or microwave, or an infrared sensor. The vital data measurement device 205 may be installed in the bathtub 101. Alternatively, the vital data measurement device 205 may be a wearable device worn by the person 10.
[0057] The vital data measurement device 205 transmits the vital data to the vital data acquisition unit 312 via a network or the like. The vital data acquisition unit 312 stores the received vital data in the data storage device 303. The vital data determination unit 313 reads out the vital data of the person 10 from, for example, the data storage device 303. Furthermore, the vital data determination unit 313 determines whether the vital data of the person 10 is within a normal range. The normal range of the vital data of the person 10 may be an average value of the vital data of the person 10 acquired in advance. The normal range of the vital data of the person 10 may be set according to circulatory system guidelines. The normal range of the vital data of the person 10 may be updated based on vital data when the person 10 drowns or falls. The vital data determination unit 313 may determine whether the person 10 has been drinking alcohol from the vital data.
[0058] If the vital data determination unit 313 determines that the vital data of the person 10 is outside the normal range, the rescue request transmission unit 304 may transmit a signal to the call device 207A of the rescuer 21A closest to the bathroom 100, notifying the rescuer 21A that the vital data of the person 10 is outside the normal range. If a receipt confirmation is not transmitted from the rescuer 21A closest to the bathroom 100, the rescue request transmission unit 304 may sequentially transmit a rescue request to the rescuers closest to the bathroom 100. If a receipt confirmation is not transmitted even after transmitting rescue requests to a predetermined number of rescuers, the rescue request transmission unit 304 may transmit rescue requests to all rescuers. Furthermore, the rescue request transmission unit 304 may transmit data including the location of the bathroom 100, the fact that the vital data of the person 10 is outside the normal range, personal information of the person 10, and instructions to transport the person 10 to an emergency room, for example, to a fire department, a hospital, a security company, a private emergency service provider, etc.
[0059] The notification signal sending unit 311 may send a signal notifying that the vital data of the person 10 is outside the normal range to the notification signal output device 106 via a network, for example. The notification signal output device 106 outputs the signal notifying that the received vital data of the person 10 is outside the normal range. This makes it possible to notify the person 10 that the vital data is outside the normal range and to call their attention.
[0060] According to the bathroom safety management system of the embodiment described above, the safety of people in the bathroom can be managed, and in the event of drowning or a fall, it is possible to save their lives early.
[0061] Although the present invention has been described above by way of the embodiments, the description and drawings that form part of this disclosure should not be understood to limit the present invention.
