AI Technical Summary
Existing food storage containers, such as Tupperware, fail to maintain the temperature of stored food during transportation, leading to a loss of freshness, flavor, vitamins, and nutrients due to temperature fluctuations.
A cooling lid for food containers featuring a body with hollow protuberances that house a cooling liquid or gel, incorporating fungicidal and preservative elements, which maintains and cools the container's interior, preventing temperature increases and decreases.
The cooling lid effectively cools the container's contents to 10°C in 20 minutes and maintains this temperature for up to five hours, or cools to 5°C for 10 hours, ensuring food freshness and nutritional quality during extended periods.

Abstract
Description
[0001] Description
[0002] Cooling lid for a food container of the invention
[0003] The object of this report is a cooling lid for a food container, Tupperware type or similar, which allows the interior of the container to be maintained and even refrigerated in a range of between 5 o and 10°C depending on the time of use, and which allows the food stored in the container to always remain fresh regardless of the environmental conditions.
[0004] Background of the invention
[0005] Nowadays, the use of steamed food storage containers (the popular Tupperware®) is used both for storing fresh food and for leftover cooked food, as well as for transporting dishes for people who cannot eat at home and who need their food transported.
[0006] The problem with these types of solutions, especially when it comes to transporting food, is that the dish loses temperature over time. So, even if it's previously refrigerated, the contents of the container are likely to heat up to ten degrees Celsius in just five hours.
[0007] Therefore, a dish that leaves a home with a certain level of freshness will have lost most of its characteristics by the time it's ready to be eaten. This, depending on the food stored, will result in a loss of flavor, vitamins, and nutrients; and, above all, an acceleration of the oxidation process in food, the most obvious example of which would be fresh fruit or vegetables.
[0008] To alleviate this problem, the applicant is aware of the existence of insulated bags whose function is to maintain the temperature of the food container for as long as possible. However, over time, the interior of these bags eventually heats up, and therefore, the container itself. This problem is solved by the introduction of block-shaped cold accumulators, which are responsible for cooling the interior of the insulated bag, thus maintaining and even cooling it.
[0009] Description of the invention
[0010] The technical problem solved by the present invention is to provide a lid for sealing a Tupperware container, which includes the function of maintaining the temperature and / or cooling the contents of said container, thereby preserving the qualities or characteristics of the items stored therein. To this end, the cooling lid for a food container, object of the present invention, comprises a body characterized in that, in its lower portion, said body incorporates a plurality of protuberances or hollow solid elements, which house a cooling liquid or gel inside that incorporates at least one fungicidal element and another preservative.
[0011] Thanks to its design, the lid recommended here will serve as a means of cooling and / or maintaining temperature in those containers (for example, a Tupperware) that use it in a simple way, providing a durable solution so that those who use it can enjoy the food stored inside in the best possible way.
[0012] Likewise, its design will allow any hot air that may be released from the inside of the container to move towards the top of it, where the lid recommended here will allow the cold air to descend towards the bottom, thus preventing the inside of the container from heating up and, after a certain time, from cooling down.
[0013] Therefore, the invention proposed here can cool the contents of the container to ten degrees in approximately twenty minutes, maintaining this temperature for up to a total of five hours; and cooling of up to five degrees for ten hours, thus allowing staff to cover the hours between the start of a workday and their lunch break.
[0014] By using the lid presented here, users will no longer have to worry about finding a refrigerated place for their food, whether at work or in a social setting (for example, on a multi-hour excursion), ensuring that the food retains its nutritional and flavor qualities. The present invention will be especially useful when storing vegetables or fruits inside the container, as it will prevent or at least partially mitigate the oxidation processes.
[0015] Another important aspect is that the lid will comply with the provisions of Commission Regulation (EC) No. 450 / 2009 of 29 May 2009 on active and intelligent materials and articles intended to come into contact with food, which will guarantee its non-toxicity.
[0016] Finally, the lid presented here will have a lifespan like any other lid for a container of this type, and can be cleaned and adjusted like any other. It must be pre-frozen for at least five hours before use, whether sporadically or continuously.
[0017] Brief description of the
[0018] Below, a very brief description is given of a series of drawings that help to better understand the invention and that are expressly related to an embodiment of said invention that is presented as a non-limiting example thereof.
[0019] FIG 1. Shows a view of a container hermetically sealed by the cooling lid for a food container.
[0020] FIG 2. Shows a side view of the cooling lid for a food container.
[0021] FIG 3. Shows a view of a first embodiment of the cooling lid for a food container.
[0022] FIG 4. Shows a second view of the lid shown in the previous figure, incorporated into a container.
[0023] FIG 5. Shows a view of a second embodiment of the cooling lid for a food container. FIG 6. Shows a second view of the lid shown in the previous figure, incorporated into a container.
[0024] A preferred embodiment of the invention is shown in the attached figures. More specifically, the cooling lid for a food container, object of the present specification, is characterized in that it comprises a body (1) with a shape that allows its hermetic connection to a container (2) and where the aforementioned body (1) in its lower part incorporates a plurality of hollow protuberances (1a) that house inside a liquid or gel that incorporates at least one fungicidal element and another preservative, and where said liquid is susceptible to being frozen or refrigerated, such that once joined to said container (2) the cold air moves towards the bottom of the same.
[0025] In a preferred embodiment, the protuberances (1a) will be in the shape of pyramids (1a), not ruling out other geometric shapes that can house the liquid or gel.
[0026] In a first practical embodiment, the protuberances (1a) house a water-based liquid and / or a gel composed of polyacrylates, which allow cooling between two and eight degrees, complying with specific regulations such as, for example, European Regulation (EC) No. 450 / 2009, on materials and objects intended to come into contact with food.
[0027] In a second practical embodiment, as shown in Figures 5 and 6, the body (1) includes a plug (1b) through which water can be introduced to fill the protuberances (1a); to be subsequently frozen; and said plug (1b) can be used in the same way as a means of evacuating water, once it is no longer in use.
[0028] In a preferred embodiment, the total height of the body (1) including the protuberances (1a) will not exceed three centimeters, in this way, the storage capacity inside the container (2) will not be reduced.
