Abstract
Description
[0001] DESCRIPTION
[0002] TITLE: Fixing device for glazing element
[0003] Technical field
[0004] The present invention relates to a fixing device for ensuring direct fixing of a glazing element to a construction element, such as, for example, to a wooden construction element.
[0005] By direct fixing, it is understood in this document that the fixing device is configured to achieve the fixing of the glazing element on the construction element without resorting to the use of a frame (or chassis) which surrounds the glazing element.
[0006] State of the art
[0007] To secure a frame provided with a glazing element to a construction element, it is known from the prior art to fix the frame (or chassis) of this frame to the construction element by means of screws or nails.
[0008] This type of fixing solution is effective because it allows the user to quickly and easily fix the frame to the building element. However, it has major drawbacks, the first being the high cost due to the requirement to use a framed frame, as well as the significant amount of material required to make the frame. This solution is also problematic in terms of weight, space requirements for transport and installation.
[0009] Summary of the invention
[0010] The technical problem underlying the invention therefore consists of providing a fixing device designed to directly fix a glazing element to a construction element, which is simple, compact and economical, while allowing intuitive, rapid, efficient and reliable installation and fixing by a user.
[0011] To this end, the present invention relates to a fixing device for ensuring direct fixing of a glazing element to a construction element, the fixing device comprising: - a fixing clip intended to be directly in contact with an interface element intended to be interposed at least between the fixing clip and the glazing element, said fixing clip comprising:
[0012] • a central part which comprises a main wall having an upper edge, the main wall extending along a central plane, and being intended to extend, starting from its upper edge, between the glazing element and the construction element;
[0013] • a holding part which comprises at least one support portion arranged to project from the main wall and extending in a first direction from the upper edge of the main wall, the holding part being configured so as to be able to exert support on an external surface of the glazing element with the interposition of the interface element; and
[0014] • a fixing part arranged to project from the main wall and extend in a second direction, opposite to the first direction, from the upper edge of the main wall, the fixing part comprising a fixing wall intended to extend opposite an external wall of the construction element and in a substantially flat manner along a fixing plane which is substantially parallel to the external wall, the fixing part comprising at least one through fixing orifice provided through the fixing wall and configured to be able to open opposite the construction element,
[0015] - a fixing member configured to pass through the fixing portion through the fixing hole, said fixing member being configured to be able to secure the fixing clip to the construction element.
[0016] Such a configuration of the invention, and in particular the presence of the fixing orifice, makes it possible to fix a glazing element to a construction element without resorting to the use of a frame surrounding the glazing element. In addition, the presence of the fixing orifice makes it possible to act as a foolproof device for the user in order to fix the fixing clip in an appropriate location, and in particular on a wall of the construction element.
[0017] The fastening device may further have one or more of the following features, which may be taken alone or in combination. According to one embodiment of the invention, the fastening clip is made in one piece, i.e. it is a single piece.
[0018] According to one embodiment of the invention, the central portion extends along the central plane and in a substantially flat manner. Advantageously, the central portion makes it possible to ensure contact between the interface element and the construction element, which makes it possible to ensure the sealing of the fixing device once the glazing element is installed.

[0021] According to one embodiment of the invention, the holding portion comprises a free end configured to be covered by the interface element.
[0022] According to one embodiment of the invention, the support portion is substantially planar and is configured to extend along a holding plane which is substantially parallel to the external surface of the glazing element.
[0023] According to one embodiment of the invention, the fixing clip is configured such that the value of the surface area of the holding part, which is intended to extend parallel to the external surface of the glazing element, is strictly greater than the value of the surface area of the fixing part, which is configured to extend opposite the external wall of the construction element.
[0024] According to one embodiment of the invention, the holding portion of the fixing clip comprises a counter-support portion, which extends in the first direction from a lower edge of the central portion, the counter-support portion being configured to grip the glazing element in combination with the support portion of the fixing clip. Such a configuration of the invention allows pre-assembly of the fixing clip on the glazing element before the fixing member is put in place, which allows the glazing element to be placed in abutment against the main wall and facilitates assembly by the user.
[0025] According to one embodiment of the invention, the support portion and the counter-support portion are provided on either side of the glazing element. According to one embodiment of the invention, the fixing member comprises a threaded portion and a shoulder which is configured to be at least partially in contact with the fixing wall when the threaded portion passes through the fixing orifice.
[0026] According to one embodiment of the invention, the fixing member may be a permanent fixing element, such as a nail or a fixing rivet for example.
[0027] According to one embodiment of the invention, the fixing orifice is substantially circular.
[0028] According to one embodiment of the invention, the threaded portion has a shape that can be likened to a cylinder.
[0029] According to one embodiment of the invention, the holding plane and the fixing plane are non-coplanar.

[0032] According to one embodiment of the invention, the fixing portion extends along a fixing plane which is substantially transverse to the central plane.
[0033] According to one embodiment of the invention, the fixing plane and the holding plane are substantially parallel.
[0034] According to one embodiment of the invention, the fixing clip is obtained at least by folding a sheet metal.
[0035] According to one embodiment of the invention, the sheet is initially flat.
[0036] According to one embodiment of the invention, the holding portion has a length, measured transversely to the central plane, of between 5 millimeters and 20 millimeters. [0069] Detailed description
[0070] Figures 1 to 2 represent a fixing device 1, according to a first embodiment of the invention, which comprises a fixing clip 2 and a fixing member 3. The fixing device 1 makes it possible to ensure direct fixing of a glazing element 4 on a construction element 5, in particular by means of an interface element 6, such as a seal for example, intended to be interposed between the fixing clip 2 and the construction element 5 on the one hand, and between the fixing clip 2 and the glazing element 4 on the other hand. The interface element is configured to avoid direct contact between the fixing clip 2, which is generally made of metal, and the glazing element 4.
[0071] The fixing clip 2 is formed in a single piece and is intended to be in direct contact with the interface element 6. The fixing clip 2 is obtained by folding and cutting an initially flat sheet metal, in order to reduce the manufacturing cost of the product.
[0072] According to the embodiment of the invention shown in Figures 1 to 2, the fixing clip 2 comprises a central part 7, two holding parts 8 and a fixing part 9, the respective characteristics and functions of which are detailed below.
[0073] The central portion 7 comprises a main wall 7.1 having an upper edge 7.2, and extends in a substantially planar manner along a central plane P1. The main wall 7.1 is intended to extend, from the upper edge 7.2, between the glazing element 4 and the construction element 5. The central portion 7 has a length, measured along the upper edge 7.2, of between 10 millimeters and 40 millimeters. Preferably, the length of the central portion 7 is between 20 millimeters and 30 millimeters, and is for example 25 millimeters. Advantageously, the central portion 7 makes it possible to ensure contact between the interface element 6 and the construction element 5, which makes it possible to ensure the sealing of the fixing device 1 once the glazing element 4 is installed. The holding parts 8 are substantially flat and arranged to project from the main wall 7.1. The holding parts 8 extend in a first direction from the upper edge 7.2 of the main wall 7.1 forming an angle of 90° and are configured so as to be able to exert pressure on an external surface 4.1 of the glazing element 4 via the interface element 6. The holding parts 8 are each intended to extend along a holding plane P2 and parallel to an external surface 4.1 of the glazing element 4. The holding parts 8 each comprise a free end 8.3 configured to be covered by the interface element 6.
[0074] More particularly, the holding parts 8 extend along a holding plane P2 which is substantially transverse to the central plane P1. Each holding part 8 has dimensions which are identical, and in particular a length, measured transversely to the central plane P1, of between 5 millimeters and 20 millimeters. Preferably, the length is between 10 millimeters and 15 millimeters, and is for example 12.8 millimeters.
[0075] As shown in Figures 1 to 2, the two holding parts 8 are offset along the upper edge 7.2 and delimit between them a recess 10. Advantageously, the use of a plurality of holding parts 8 allows a homogeneous distribution of the forces on the external surface 4.1 of the glazing element 4, in order to prevent damage to the glazing element 4.
[0076] The fixing portion 9 extends from the upper edge 7.2, at the level of the recess 10, and projects from the main wall 7.1 in a second direction which is opposite to the first direction. The fixing portion 9 comprises a fixing wall 9.1 which is intended to extend in a substantially planar manner along a fixing plane P3 which is transverse to the central plane P1; in addition, the holding plane P2 and the fixing plane P3 are parallel and non-coplanar. More specifically, the fixing portion 9 is configured to extend opposite an external wall 5.1 of the construction element 5. The fixing portion 9 has a length, measured transversely to the central plane P1, of between 20 millimeters and 30 millimeters. Preferably, the length of the fixing portion 9 is between 22 millimeters and 28 millimeters, and is for example 25 millimeters.
[0077] According to the first embodiment of the invention, the fixing part 9 comprises two lateral portions 9.2 which extend projectingly and on either side of the fixing wall 9.1. More specifically, the lateral portions 9.2 each extend in a plane which is non-parallel with the fixing plane P3. Such a configuration of the invention, and in particular of the lateral portions 9.2, makes it possible to increase the bending strength of the fixing part 9. The lateral portions 9.2 extend substantially parallel to one another. The fixing part 9 further comprises a fixing orifice 11 passing through and configured to be able to open opposite the construction element 5. The fixing orifice 11 is advantageously substantially circular and is provided on the fixing wall 9.1.
[0078] According to the first embodiment of the invention, the fixing clip 2 is configured such that the value of the surface area of the holding part 8, which is intended to extend parallel to the external surface 4.1 of the glazing element 4, is strictly greater than the value of the surface area of the fixing part 9, which is configured to extend opposite the external wall 5.1 of the construction element 5.
[0079] As explained previously, the fixing device 1 comprises a fixing clip 2 and a fixing member 3 configured to pass through the fixing part 9 through the fixing orifice 11. More specifically, and as shown in FIG. 1, the fixing member 3 is configured to secure the fixing clip 2 to the construction element 5.
[0080] According to the embodiment of the invention shown in the figures, the fixing member 3 is comparable to a fixing screw, and comprises a threaded portion 3.1 and a shoulder 3.2 which is configured to be at least partially in contact with the fixing wall 9.1 when the threaded portion 3.1 passes through the fixing orifice 11. Such a configuration of the invention, and in particular the presence of the fixing orifice 11, makes it possible to fix a glazing element 4 to a construction element 5 without resorting to the use of a frame which surrounds the glazing element 4. In addition, the presence of the fixing orifice 11 makes it possible to act as a foolproof device for the user in order to fix the fixing clip 2 by means of the fixing member 3 at an appropriate location, and in particular on a wall of the construction element 5.
[0081] Advantageously, the fixing orifice 11 is provided at a distance from the central part 7 which is substantially equal to four times the diameter of the threaded portion 3.1 of the fixing member 3. Such a configuration of the invention makes it possible to obtain a fixing device 1 meeting the standards in force with regard to the fixing of the glazing elements 4, namely compliance with a minimum distance between the fixing member 3 and the end of the construction element 5, this while minimizing the material used and in order to control the manufacturing cost of the fixing device 1.
[0082] As can be seen more specifically in Figure 2, the central part 7 comprises a plurality of retaining lugs 12, obtained by partially cutting and folding a portion of the central part 7, and each configured to protrude relative to the central plane P1. More particularly, at least one retaining lug 12 is configured to protrude in the direction of the interface element 6, and at least one retaining lug 12 is configured to protrude in the direction of the construction element 5. Such a configuration of the invention increases the friction between the central part 7 and the interface element 6 on the one hand and between the central part 7 and the construction element 5 on the other hand, which makes it possible to avoid involuntary movement of the fixing device 1 before the fixing member 3 is put in place, for example.
[0083] According to the first embodiment of the invention, the fixing clip 2 comprises a snap-on device 13 configured to allow mounting on the fixing clip 2 of a glazing bead intended to at least partially cover the fixing device 1 and / or the glazing element 4. The snap-on device 13 extends substantially transversely to the fixing plane P3 and comprises a first snap-on portion 13.1 which extends from one of the lateral portions 9.2 and a second snap-on portion 13.2 which extends from the other of the lateral portions 9.2. The first snap-on portion 13.1 is laterally offset relative to the second snap-on portion 13.2 along the fixing wall 9.1.
[0084] Finally, the fixing clip 2 comprises a reinforcing depression 14 arranged along the upper edge 7.2 in a junction zone between the main wall 7.1 and the fixing wall 9.1. Such a configuration of the invention advantageously makes it possible to prevent deformation of the fixing clip 2 between the fixing part 9 and the central part 7.
[0085] Figure 3 shows a fixing device 1 according to a second embodiment of the invention which differs from the first embodiment essentially in that the snap-fastening device 13 extends from only one of the lateral portions 9.2. In other words, the first snap-fastening portion 13.1 and the second snap-fastening portion 13.2 are provided consecutively and on the same lateral portion 9.2.
[0086] Figures 4 and 5 show a fixing device 1 according to a third embodiment of the invention which differs from the second embodiment essentially in that the fixing device 1 comprises a counter-support portion 8.2, which is configured to provide a clamping function in combination with the support portion 8.1 of the fixing clip 2 on the glazing element 4. The counter-support element 8.2 extends in the first direction from a lower edge 7.3 of the central part 7, such that the support portion 8.1 and the counter-support portion 8.2 are provided on either side of the glazing element 4.Such a configuration of the invention allows pre-assembly of the fixing clip 2 on the glazing element 4 before the installation of the fixing member 3, which allows the glazing element 4 to be installed in abutment against the main wall, and more precisely in abutment against the interface element 6, which facilitates the installation of the fixing device 1 by the user.
[0087] The third embodiment of the invention also differs from the second embodiment in that the central portion 7 comprises a single retaining lug 12 configured to project relative to the central plane P1 and towards the construction element 5, and in that the snap-in device 13 extends from the fixing wall 9.1.
[0088] Figure 6 shows a fixing device 1 according to a fourth embodiment of the invention which differs from the first embodiment essentially in that the fixing wall 9.1 extends substantially parallel to the main wall 7.1. In other words, the central plane P1 and the fixing plane P3 are coplanar according to this embodiment of the invention.
[0089] Although external to the invention, the following elements are specified in order to fully understand the invention and its application:
[0090] - glazing element 4 is a double-thickness glazing in which the panes are spaced by a separating spacer,
[0091] - the sealing gasket extends around the perimeter of the glazing element 4 and is integral with the glazing element 4, i.e. it is assembled and held in position with the glazing element 4 by gluing for example,
[0092] - the construction element 5 is a vertical construction wall which is, preferably, made of wood.
[0093] Of course, the present invention is in no way limited to the embodiments described and illustrated, which have been given only as examples.
