Description

SAFETY SYSTEM FOR OUTER PORTTECHNICAL FIELD

[0001] The present invention, in general, relates to structures adapted for break water applications. Particularly, the invention relates to a safety system for outer port adapted to reduce the impact of crashing waves on the port. More particularly, the present invention relates to safety system for outer port adapted to reduce the impact of crashing waves by producing a counter wave from the incoming wave, and directing said counter wave against the subsequent incoming waves.BACKGROUND ART

[0002] CN 1414181 teaches a guiding-wave type mole by wave-against- wave is composed of forward wave guide slope, concave surface and backward wave guide cornice, the front wave is guided to turn tack upward to strike the rear wave, thereby the form a huge force countercurrent water body mole. But said invention can’t produce counter-waves of increasing momentum. Further, it might not produce desired results if the sea water level increases and partially or fully submerge the structure.

[0003] CN102352614A discloses a continuous multiple arc type waveabsorbing bank. The continuous multiple arc type wave-absorbing bankcomprises a main body and a slope protector, wherein the upstream surface of the main body is provided with an inclined slope, and the slope protector comprises a circular-arc protecting surface and a horizontal connecting section. However, it is not capable of producing a counter wave to reduce the impact of subsequent incoming waves.

[0004] From the foregoing, it becomes apparent that there is a need for a system capable of reducing the impact of crashing waves on the sea shore by producing a counter wave.

[0005] The present invention discloses a safety system for outer port adapted to reduce the impact of rising waves on the port during a storm or otherwise. It is configured to receive the incoming waves to create counter waves of increased velocity wherein said counter waves are directed onto the following subsequent waves, therein breaking their momentum. Said safety system for outer port is adapted to be fixed on the outer port wherein it works without any manual intervention.SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0006] It is therefore the primary object of the present invention to provide a safety system for outer port configured to soften the impact of sea waves on ports during a storm.

[0007] It is another object of the invention to break the momentum of incoming waves using the force of said incoming waves.

[0008] It is yet another object of the present invention to provide a safety system for outer port adapted to reduce the impact of crashing waves on the outer port by producing a counter wave from the incoming wave, and directing said counter wave against the subsequent incoming waves.

[0009] It is a further object of the invention to provide a security system for outer port that is economical.

[0010] Accordingly, the present invention proposes a safety system for outer port, characterized in that:• first part comprising of hollow rectangular structure installed at the sea, in the proximity of outer port, by means of pillars, wherein one end of said structure faces the outer sea;• second part comprising of hollow rectangular structure, disposed parallel to the first part by means of pillars supported on said first part, wherein one end of said second part faces in the direction of the outer sea; and• bend hollow rectangular member connecting the first and second part, wherein said member is contiguous with saidparts.

[0011] The other objectives features and advantages of the present invention will become more apparent from the ensuing detailed description of the invention taken in conjunction with accompanying drawings.BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

[0012] FIG.1 shows the safety system for outer port.

[0013] FIG.2 depicts the unit forming part of the safety system for outer port.

[0014] FIG.3 illustrates the installation of the safety system in the outer port.DESCRIPTION OF EMBODIMENTS

[0015] The preferred embodiment of the present invention will now be explained with reference to the accompanying drawings. It should be understood however that the disclosed embodiments are merely exemplary of the invention, which may be embodied in various forms. The following description and drawings are not to be construed as limiting the invention and numerous specific details are described to provide a thorough understanding of the present invention, as the basis for the claims and as a basis for teaching one skilled in the art how to make and / or use the invention. However, in certain instances, well-known or conventional details are not described in order not to unnecessarily obscure the present invention in detail.

[0016] Referring to FIG.1 , the safety system for outer port comprises of a plurality of independent units wherein each such unit comprises of a hollow rectangular structure, with its one end facing the sea, wherein said structure is fixed at the place of installation by means of pillars. As per the preferred embodiment, the safety system for outer port is installed at the sea, in the proximity of outer port. The other end of the structure, at a distance from the end facing the sea, bends over in a horse-shoe shape, wherein it further extends parallel to about half the length of the first part of the rectangular structure, as shown in the figure. The tip of the top part has a slantedopening. The safety system for outer port is constructed using steel, concrete, or any appropriate material.

[0017] The top part of the structure is supported on the first part by one or more supports, as shown in FIG.2. In the preferred embodiment, the bottom rectangular structure, called the first part, is 2.5 metre high and 30 metres wide. Said width reduces by about 20% at the bends and the top portion.

[0018] As per the preferred embodiment of the present invention, the safety system for outer port is installed at the proximity of outer port, in the sea. It may be installed also in places where there is no existent sea wall. Multiple units forming the safety system for outer port are installed next to each other, wherein each individual unit is connected to each other using interlocking mechanism. The installation of the safety system in the outer port is depicted in FIG.3.

[0019] FIG.1 illustrates the operation of the safety system for outer port. The rising sea waves enter through the opening on the first part of the units, wherein it exits through the opening at the top part to create a counter wave the slams against the subsequent incoming waves of the sea, therein breaking their momentum. As the area of the horse-shoe shape bend and the top part of each unit structure is lesser than at the first part of the rectangular structure, water is pushed out at greater momentum, thereincreating a more powerful counter wave. In order to offer added support to the units of the safety system for outer port, a stay wall is provided.

[0020] Although the present invention has been described in connection with the preferred embodiments thereof with reference to the accompanying drawings, it is to be noted that various changes and modifications are possible and are apparent to those skilled in the art. Such changes and modifications are to be understood as included within the scope of the present invention unless they depart there from.
