Description

Shower head with overpressure protection

[0001] The present invention relates to a shower head, and more particularly, to a shower head having an overpressure prevention function that prevents damage caused by pressure generated inside the shower head, absorbs shock, prevents water leakage, and reduces water usage and provides a richer effect when showering by introducing air.

[0002] Generally, shower heads are divided into handheld types that are connected to a flexible tube and used with one hand, and fixed types (also known as sunflower shower heads) that are connected to a fixed tube and used.

[0003] Handheld and fixed shower heads each have their own pros and cons, so bathrooms are equipped with both handheld and fixed shower heads, or only one handheld or fixed shower head is used.

[0004] In particular, the conventional fixed shower head (also known as a sunflower shower head) is formed in a disc-shaped body shape, and the washing water supplied through the fixed pipe is supplied to the inside of the disc-shaped body, and the shower water is discharged in the form of a spray through a number of spray holes widely distributed on the lower part of the disc-shaped body.

[0005] Meanwhile, when a conventional shower head is used for a long time, pressure increases due to blockage of the water outlet nozzle by lime, foreign substances, and other impurities in the water, which causes damage to the shower head or water leakage, so improvement measures are required.

[0006] The above-described technical configuration is background technology to help understand the present invention, and does not mean a conventional technology widely known in the technical field to which the present invention belongs.

[0007] The technical problem to be achieved by the present invention is to provide a shower head having an overpressure prevention function that prevents damage caused by pressure generated inside the shower head, absorbs shock, prevents water leakage, and reduces water usage and provides a richer effect when showering by inserting air.

[0008] According to one aspect of the present invention, a shower head may be provided, including an air ball part provided on a head body to supply water and air to the head body and to discharge air inside the head body when overpressure occurs in the head body; and an air ball cover that connects the air ball part to the head body and supplies outside air to the air ball part and to discharge air supplied from the air ball part when overpressure occurs.

[0009] The above air ball part may include a ball body that is connected to the head body by the air ball cover and has a plurality of ball air holes that serve as air passages; and a ball fastening body that is provided on the ball body and is detachably connected to a water pipe.

[0010] The above air ball cover may include a cover body that connects the air ball part to the head body; and a plurality of cover air holes provided in the cover body and communicating with a plurality of ball air holes provided in the air ball part.

[0011] The above air ball cover further includes a cover space provided in the cover body, and the cover space may be provided to have an area larger than that of one cover air hole and one ball air hole.

[0012] It further includes a fastening body that is coupled to the air ball cover to introduce outside air into the air ball cover or to discharge air supplied from the air ball cover to the outside.

[0013] The above-mentioned fastening body may include a body air hole provided on an inner wall of the above-mentioned fastening body and serving as an air passage; and a body space provided on the above-mentioned fastening body and communicating with the body air hole and the cover air hole provided on the air ball cover.

[0014] Embodiments of the present invention can prevent damage caused by pressure generated inside a shower head, absorb shock, prevent water leakage, and reduce water usage and provide a richer effect when showering by inserting air.
