[0034] FIG. 1 is a block diagram exemplarily showing the configuration of the entire system (10) in which the digital subscription product management system (100) according to an embodiment of the present disclosure operates. Referring to FIG. 1, the entire system (10) may include a digital subscription product management system (100), a service server (200), and a user terminal (300). In the entire system (10) according to an embodiment of the present disclosure, the digital subscription product management system (100) may recommend digital subscription products based on the user's shopping service usage history acquired through the service server (200) and display the recommended subscription products on the user terminal (300). For example, digital subscription products may include a music streaming service, a video streaming service, a warranty service for a specific product, a rental service, a SAAS (software as a service) software subscription service, etc. Meanwhile, the digital subscription product management system (100) may be configured using one or more physical servers included in a server farm based on cloud technology such as a virtual machine.

[0035] More specifically, the digital subscription product management system (100) can determine recommended subscription product candidates for the user based on the user's shopping service usage history acquired from the service server (200). Thereafter, the digital subscription product management system (100) can calculate a similarity score for subscription products included in the recommended subscription product candidates that the user has not subscribed to, with respect to subscription products to which the user is already subscribed.

[0036] Here, the similarity score may be calculated higher the more the attributes of the unsubscribed subscription product overlap with the attributes of the subscribed subscription product. For example, the attributes of the subscription product may include the provider of the target service, the type of the target service, and the subscription benefits. The target service of the subscription product according to an embodiment of the present disclosure is linked to a product sold by a shopping service, and the provider may be the same as or different from the provider of the shopping service. The type of the target service may include, for example, a software as a service (SAAS) subscription, a music streaming service, a video streaming service, etc. The subscription benefits represent the benefits that can be obtained through subscribing to the corresponding service (e.g., the maximum video quality that can be viewed for a video streaming service, the maximum number of songs that can be downloaded for a music streaming service, etc.).

[0037] For example, let's say a subscription product has five subscription benefits. In this case, the similarity between the two subscription products can be compared for each of the target service provider, target service type, and five subscription benefits, and the number of overlapping items can be calculated as a similarity score. For example, if the target service provider and target service type are the same but the subscription benefits are all different, the similarity score can be calculated as 2 points. If only the target service provider is different but the target service type and subscription benefits are the same, the similarity score can be calculated as 6 points. Assuming a preset threshold of 3 points, a recommended subscription product candidate with a similarity score of 2 can ultimately be recommended to the user, while a recommended subscription product candidate with a similarity score of 6 may not be recommended to the user.

[0038] The digital subscription product management system (100) can determine, among the determined recommended subscription product candidates, a first subscription product with a calculated similarity score below a preset threshold among subscription products to which the user has not subscribed, as a recommended subscription product and display the first subscription product on the user terminal (100). In other words, the digital subscription product management system (100) can recommend to the user a digital subscription product that has the least overlap in attributes with the subscription product to which the user is currently subscribed (i.e., provides a different type of service and obtains different benefits from the subscription product to which the user is currently subscribed). For example, the digital subscription product management system (100) can display the recommendation result of the subscription product in the form of a widget or nudge on the application of the user terminal (300).

[0039] Hereinafter, embodiments of a digital subscription product management system (100) according to an embodiment of the present disclosure will be reviewed to obtain a user's shopping service usage history and determine recommended subscription product candidates accordingly.

[0040] The digital subscription product management system (100) can calculate the monthly subscription fee for the digital subscription product to which the user is currently subscribed, and determine the monthly subscription fee range to which the user belongs based on the calculated monthly subscription fee. For example, the monthly subscription fee ranges can be divided into 0 to 10,000 won, 10,000 to 50,000 won, 50,000 to 100,000 won, 100,000 to 300,000 won, and 300,000 won or more. Thereafter, the digital subscription product management system (100) can determine as recommended subscription product candidates the digital subscription products subscribed to by other users who fall within the monthly subscription fee range determined to be to which the user belongs. Through this, digital subscription products subscribed to by other users who spend a similar amount of monthly subscription fee as the user (i.e., other users with a similar consumption scale for digital product subscriptions) can be determined as recommended candidates.

[0041] In another embodiment, the digital subscription product management system (100) may obtain the user's total purchase amount for a shopping service and, based on the obtained total purchase amount, determine the total purchase amount range to which the user belongs. For example, the total purchase amount ranges may be divided into 300,000 won or more, 500,000 won or more, 1 million won or more, and 2 million won or more. Thereafter, the digital subscription product management system (100) may determine digital subscription products subscribed to by other users within the total purchase amount range determined to belong to the user as recommended subscription product candidates. Through this, digital subscription products subscribed to by other users who spend a similar amount of money on the shopping service as the user (i.e., other users with a similar level of shopping service usage) may be determined as recommended candidates.

[0042] In another embodiment, the digital subscription product management system (100) can obtain the categories of products most frequently purchased by users through a shopping service and determine the user group to which the user belongs based on the categories of products obtained. The user group can be determined based on the user's age group, gender, and preferred products. For example, the user group can be determined as men in their 20s with a high percentage of digital device purchases, women in their 30s with a high percentage of sportswear purchases, etc. Thereafter, the digital subscription product management system (100) can select subscription products subscribed to by other users within the determined user group as recommended subscription product candidates.

[0043] In another embodiment, the digital subscription product management system (100) can determine whether a user has purchased a first product paired with a specific digital subscription product among products purchased through a shopping service. For example, the first product may be a smartphone, and the specific digital subscription product may be a warranty service related to the smartphone. Then, if the user has purchased the first product, the digital subscription product management system (100) can determine the specific digital subscription product described above as a recommended subscription product candidate. In other words, if the user has purchased a smartphone, the system can recommend that the user subscribe to the warranty service paired with the smartphone.

[0044] Meanwhile, in addition to recommending digital subscription products to users through the above-described embodiments, the digital subscription product management system (100) may also display products related to subscription products to which the user is subscribed as recommended products on the user terminal (300). Furthermore, when the subscription period of a subscription product has expired or been cancelled, the digital subscription product management system (100) may also display other products as recommended products to the user. For example, when the subscription to a warranty service paired with the currently used smartphone (i.e., the current user terminal (300) of the user) has expired or been cancelled, another user terminal of the same model as the user terminal (300) may be displayed as a recommended product. For example, the other user terminal may be a newer model smartphone than the existing user terminal (300).

[0045] Furthermore, the digital subscription product management system (100) can provide a page on the user terminal (300) that allows the user to comprehensively manage subscriptions to multiple subscription products. Through this page, the user can manage subscriptions not only for digital subscription products provided by the same service provider as the shopping service, but also for digital subscription products provided by other service providers. Subscription management can include subscription extensions, subscription cancellations, changes to payment methods, and changes to subscription options. This can eliminate the inconvenience of having to manage subscriptions on separate pages for each subscription product.

[0046] The service server (200) may be a computing device / system (platform) that provides shopping services to customers. For example, the service server (200) may be a computing device / system that provides an online shopping site to a user terminal (300). Specifically, the service server (200) may obtain information regarding the user's usage history of various shopping services and provide the information to the digital subscription product management system (100). For example, the usage history information may include the user's monthly subscription fee for digital subscription products, the user's total purchase amount, and the categories of products purchased most frequently by the user.

[0047] The service server (200) may be implemented by at least one computing device. For example, all functions of the service server (200) may be implemented by a single computing device, or a first function of the service server (200) may be implemented by a first computing device, and a second function may be implemented by a second computing device. Alternatively, specific functions of the service server (200) may be implemented by multiple computing devices. For example, the computing devices may include any type of device equipped with a computing means and a communication means.

[0048] The user terminal (300) may be a computing device used by a user of the shopping service provided by the service server (200). For example, the user terminal (300) may include a smartphone, a desktop, a laptop, etc. For example, if the user terminal (300) is a smartphone, the user can use the shopping service provided by the service server (200) through an application on the smartphone, and subscribe to recommended subscription products according to the operation of the digital subscription product management system (100). That is, the user can manage subscriptions to digital subscription products linked to the shopping service provided by the service server (200) through the user terminal (300). However, the present disclosure is not limited thereto, and the user terminal (300) may be implemented as any device.

[0049] The components illustrated in Figure 1 can communicate over a network. For example, the network can be implemented as any type of wired or wireless network, such as a Local Area Network (LAN), a Wide Area Network (WAN), a mobile radio communication network, or Wibro (Wireless Broadband Internet).

[0050] FIG. 2 is a flowchart exemplifying a digital subscription product management method according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. For reference, FIG. 2 illustrates the steps / operations of the digital subscription product management method performed in the digital subscription product management system (100) of FIG. 1. Therefore, in the following descriptions, if the subject of a specific step / operation is omitted, it can be understood that it is performed in the digital subscription product management system (100). The following description will be made with reference to FIG. 1 along with FIG. 2.

[0051] In step S100, the user's shopping service history may be acquired. In step S200, recommended subscription product candidates may be determined for the user based on the acquired shopping service history. Herein, the recommended subscription product candidates may include one or more digital subscription products. Steps S100 to S200 will be described below with reference to FIGS. 3 to 6.

[0052] FIGS. 3 to 6 are flowcharts illustrating embodiments of the step (S100) of obtaining shopping service details of FIG. 2 and the step (S200) of determining recommended subscription product candidates.

[0053] First, referring to FIG. 3, in step S110, the monthly subscription fee for a subscription product to which a user is subscribed may be calculated. In step S120, the monthly subscription fee bracket to which the user belongs may be determined based on the calculated monthly subscription fee. Subsequently, in step S210, subscription products to which other users within the determined monthly subscription fee bracket are subscribed may be selected as recommended subscription products. This allows the user's spending on digital subscription products in a shopping service to be determined, and subscription products to which other users subscribe with similar spending levels may be recommended.

[0054] Referring to FIG. 4, in step S130, the user's total purchase amount for a shopping service can be obtained. In step S140, the user's total purchase amount range can be determined based on the obtained total purchase amount. Subsequently, in step S220, subscription products subscribed to by other users within the determined total purchase amount range can be selected as recommended subscription product candidates. This allows the user's spending on the shopping service to be determined, and subscription products subscribed to by other users with similar spending amounts can be recommended.

[0055] Referring to FIG. 5, in step S150, the category of products most frequently purchased by users through the shopping service can be acquired, and in step S160, the user group to which the user belongs can be determined based on the acquired product category. Subsequently, in step S230, subscription products subscribed to by other users within the determined user group can be selected as recommended subscription product candidates. For example, the user group can be determined based on the user's age group, gender, and preferred product characteristics, such as males in their 20s who tend to purchase digital devices more frequently, and females in their 30s who tend to purchase sportswear more frequently.

[0056] Referring to Figure 6, in step S170, it can be determined whether the user has purchased a first product paired with a second subscription product, which is a specific digital subscription product. For example, the first product may be a smartphone, and the second subscription product may be a warranty service related to the smartphone. Then, in step S240, the second subscription product may be determined as a recommended subscription product candidate. This allows for the recommendation of a separate digital subscription product paired with the product purchased by the user, if one exists.

[0057] Returning to FIG. 2, in step S300, a similarity score between a subscription product included in the list of recommended subscription product candidates and a subscription product to which the user is already subscribed can be calculated. Here, the similarity score between subscription products can be calculated based on the similarity between the attributes of the subscription products (e.g., the provider of the target service, the type of the target service, and subscription benefits, etc.). The more overlapping attributes there are, the higher the similarity score can be calculated.

[0058] A high similarity score indicates that the attributes of the product to which the user is already subscribed overlap with those of the products included in the recommended subscription product candidate. Therefore, in step S400, among the recommended subscription product candidates, the first subscription product with a similarity score below a preset threshold may be displayed as a recommended subscription product on the user terminal (100). This allows products with attributes that minimize overlap with the user's existing subscription product to be displayed as recommended subscription products. For example, the recommended subscription product may be displayed in the form of a nudge or widget on the user terminal (100) application.

[0059] FIG. 7 is an exemplary flowchart illustrating a digital subscription product management method according to another embodiment of the present disclosure. Referring to FIG. 7, after a first subscription product with a similarity score below a preset threshold is displayed as a recommended subscription product on a user terminal (S400), in step S500, a product related to a subscription product to which the user is subscribed may be displayed as a recommended product on the user terminal (100).

[0060] FIG. 8 is a block diagram showing the hardware configuration of a computing device (500) for managing digital subscription products according to an embodiment of the present disclosure.

[0061] Referring to FIG. 8, a computing device (500) may include one or more processors (510), a bus (530), a communication interface (540), a memory (520) for loading a computer program executed by the processor (510), and a storage (550) for storing a computer program (560).
