Description

[0001] Connection adapter and mounting rail system with such a

[0002] Description:

[0003] The present invention relates to a connection adapter for a busbar arranged in a support rail of a support rail system and to a support rail system equipped with the connection adapter.

[0004] Mounting rail systems are well known in the art. These typically comprise one or more mounting rails arranged in series and extending or branching in any desired direction. Several functional elements, such as lights (e.g., light bars, spotlights), sensors, cameras, loudspeakers, and the like, can be connected to these mounting rails at any position, preferably along their length. The aforementioned components are mechanically held to the mounting rail. The mounting rail typically contains busbars, which the components can tap into electrically when mechanically attached to the mounting rail, thus enabling them to be operated. To supply the power rail with the appropriate power and / or data available for the components, the mounting rail systems feature an infeed and / or outfeed at any location (usually at the end of the system, but also in the middle). These are usually quite long components, which often require a separate short mounting rail to provide the function at the end or in the middle of the mounting rail system. At these positions of the infeed or outfeed connectors, electrical tapping via the components is often not possible.

[0005] It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide a connection adapter and a mounting rail system equipped therewith, which are compact in design and enable effective electrical tapping.

[0006] This object is achieved by the subject matter of the independent claims. The dependent claims develop the central idea of the present invention in a particularly advantageous manner.

[0007] According to a first aspect, the present invention relates to a connection adapter for a busbar arranged in a support rail of a support rail system. The busbar has a base body with parallel busbar guide channels and electrical conductors extending therein, each of which protrudes from the busbar with a conductor end at the end of the base body. The connection adapter extends along an extension axis. The connection adapter has a coupling section with guide channels aligned parallel to the extension axis. The guide channels are each designed to axially accommodate - preferably completely - one of the conductor ends. The guide channels are all open to the same side - e.g., an inner or outer side - of the coupling section for electrical contacting of the respective conductor ends. The connection adapter further comprises a connection section with connection points for connecting an external electrical conductor. Each of the connection points is electrically connected to one (other) of the guide channels in such a way that, when a conductor end is accommodated in one of the guide channels, this conductor end is electrically connected to the connection point assigned to this guide channel or can be electrically connected to an external electrical conductor accommodated in the connection point assigned to this guide channel.

[0008] Where reference is made to “axial” or “radial” in the context of the present invention, this refers to the axis of extension unless otherwise stated.

[0009] The provision of the connection adapter with the appropriately designed coupling section enables the connection adapter to be functionally connected to a busbar of a mounting rail system in a particularly simple and compact manner. As the guide channels are open for electrical contact between the respective conductor ends, the area of the connection adapter can also be used effectively for the electrical coupling of components of a mounting rail system, thus creating a significantly larger tapping option despite a comparatively small installation size. This means that additional short mounting rail sections which only serve to provide the connection adapter (e.g. for feeding or outfeed) can be dispensed with, as the latter can be stored simply and effectively in the mounting rail. As the connection adapter is therefore completely independent of the mounting rail system or the busbar, the connection adapter can be used to connect the components of a mounting rail system in a particularly simple and compact manner.the mounting rail can be provided inside (i.e. preferably does not protrude beyond the outer contours of the mounting rail), the corresponding feed-in or feed-out can be provided at any location and in any number without affecting the length of the overall system.

[0010] The coupling section and the connection section can preferably be arranged axially in series, one behind the other. This allows the two functional sections to be positioned at defined positions on opposite sides. This allows the busbar to be easily coupled via the coupling section, while a simple connection of an infeed or outfeed can be made on the other side without collision with the busbar.

[0011] The coupling section and the connection section can preferably be arranged axially at opposite ends of the connection adapter. Thus, these sections can be easily accessible and preferably exposed, which facilitates connection using the connection adapter.

[0012] The connection adapter can preferably have a carrier that has or supports the coupling section and the connection section. This simplifies handling of the connection adapter and the coupling section. Furthermore, the carrier can provide these sections with a stable structure and allow them to be positioned precisely relative to one another in a particularly simple manner.

[0013] The support can preferably have a U-shaped cross-section, viewed in the direction of the extension axis, with two side legs and a connecting leg connecting the side legs, which together define an interior space. Thus, the support has a particularly stable shape. Furthermore, a support configured in this way can be easily inserted or pushed into a typically U-shaped support rail, which further simplifies assembly.

[0014] At least one or each of the side legs and / or the connecting legs can preferably have the connection section and the coupling section. For example, it is conceivable to provide them on one or both side legs so that a component to be connected can be inserted laterally into the corresponding guide channels for electrical connection. For example, a so-called rotary knob can preferably be used for this purpose. When provided on the connecting leg, an electrical connection can be established, for example, by simply plugging it in.

[0015] The connection section and the coupling section are preferably arranged at least partially or completely within the interior. Thus, the connection adapter can be designed to be particularly compact overall.

[0016] The connection adapter can preferably further comprise connecting sections for mechanically coupling the connection adapter inserted into a mounting rail to the mounting rail. In this way, the connection adapter can be easily connected to a mounting rail. Furthermore, since the connection adapter includes the connecting sections, they can be manufactured and provided easily and effectively.

[0017] The carrier can preferably include the connecting sections. Thus, the connecting sections can be easily provided integrally with the carrier, requiring fewer components while simultaneously providing the connecting sections in an optimal and defined manner.

[0018] Each of the guide channels can preferably have a sliding contact element for receiving the conductor ends, wherein the sliding contact element is electrically connected to the associated connection point. Thus, electrical conductors inserted into the guide channels can be easily and directly electrically connected to the corresponding connection points. This simplifies assembly and reduces the risk of incorrect installation.

[0019] The guide channels, preferably at least their sliding contact elements, can preferably be connected to the respectively assigned connection points via an electrical connecting element, such as a wire bridge. This provides a simple connection between the coupling section and the connection section. The electrical connecting parts can thus be provided as desired to electrically connect corresponding coupling sections and connection sections. For example, the sliding contact elements on the guide channels can also be used, in which the electrical connecting parts can be received or inserted accordingly - comparable to the conductor ends. Electrical connecting parts designed as wire bridges are also particularly simple and cost-effective to provide.

[0020] Each of the electrical connecting parts can preferably be arranged axially between the associated guide channel and the associated connection point. This allows the connection adapter to have a particularly compact design. Furthermore, the electrical connecting part can be designed and provided as small and compact as possible, thus making it cost-effective.

[0021] The electrical connecting parts are preferably covered with an insulating part. This provides a simple way to provide protection against accidental contact.

[0022] The connection adapter can preferably further comprise a manipulation element by means of which the connection adapter is axially movable; this is preferably the case when it is arranged in a support rail or the mounting rail. In this way, the connection adapter can be easily moved. The insulating part can preferably comprise the manipulation element. Thus, on the one hand, the functional elements of the insulating part and the manipulation element can be provided together, simplifying their manufacture and provision. Furthermore, the manipulation element can thus be easily provided with an insulating material, allowing the connection adapter to be operated particularly safely.

[0023] The connection adapter can preferably also have a grounding contact that is arranged or provided so as to be exposed to the outside. This allows the connection adapter to be easily grounded, for example, to the mounting rail or mounting rail system.

[0024] The grounding contact can preferably be electrically coupled to the carrier or formed integrally with it. Thus, if a suitable carrier is provided, it can be easily provided with the grounding contact, which is thus easy to handle and has a defined, fixed position.

[0025] The connection section can preferably have a connection terminal. This allows a generally known connection principle to be provided for the connection section, making it cost-effective. Each of the connection points can preferably be formed by a spring-cage connection. Consequently, the connection of external conductors, for example, is possible in a particularly simple and secure manner.

[0026] Each connection point can preferably have a further spring-loaded terminal connection connected to the associated electrical connection part. This allows for the electrical connection to the coupling section—here preferably via the electrical connection part—to be established simply and securely.

[0027] The terminal block can preferably have a terminal housing that at least partially accommodates the spring-loaded terminal connections. This makes the spring-loaded terminal connections particularly easy to handle and predefined.

[0028] The terminal housing can preferably be made of an insulating material. This allows the terminal housing to be manufactured and provided in a particularly simple and reliable manner.

[0029] The connecting section can preferably be detachably provided; particularly preferably, it can be detachably connected to the carrier. Thus, the connecting section can be attached and replaced in any manner, for example, for the manufacture and / or maintenance of the connecting adapter. Furthermore, different connecting adapters can be produced by using different connecting sections, for example, with the same carrier, so that a high degree of part diversity can be achieved with a small number of parts.

[0030] The coupling section can also preferably be detachably provided; particularly preferably, it can be detachably connected to the carrier. Thus, the same applies to the detachable coupling section as was previously stated for the detachable connecting section.

[0031] The coupling section can preferably have a profile element that forms the guide channels. This allows the guide channels to be defined in a particularly simple manner. The profile element can preferably be made of an insulating material. This allows the coupling section to be manufactured particularly easily and can also easily and reliably insulate the corresponding electrical connection points.

[0032] According to a further aspect, the present invention further relates to a mounting rail system. This has, on the one hand, a mounting rail extending along a longitudinal axis. Furthermore, the mounting rail system has a busbar which is arranged or mounted within the mounting rail. The busbar has a base body with busbar guide channels aligned parallel to the longitudinal axis and with electrical conductors extending therein. The electrical conductors each protrude from the busbar at the end of the base body with a conductor end. The mounting rail system furthermore has a connection adapter according to the present invention and as already described. The connection adapter can then be inserted into the mounting rail with its extension axis aligned parallel to the longitudinal axis (e.g.axially longitudinally displaceable), so that the guide channels each continue one of the busbar guide channels and each accommodate one of the conductor ends in such a way that the conductor end is electrically connected to the connection point assigned to the guide channel.

[0033] The advantages of the connection adapter are thus directly transferred to the mounting rail system. Since the guide channels continue the busbar guide channels, a maximum effective electrical connection can be easily provided for a component to be connected to the mounting rail system.

[0034] The mounting rail can preferably have a U-shaped cross-section, viewed in the direction of its longitudinal axis, with two mounting rail side walls and a mounting rail connecting wall connecting the mounting rail side walls. These wall walls together define a receiving space in which the busbar is arranged and the connection adapter can be inserted—preferably completely—and thus within the outer contour of the mounting rail. This allows for a particularly stable mounting rail to be provided. The receiving space offers sufficient space to accommodate both the busbar and the connection adapter accordingly, enabling appropriate electrical tapping via them.

[0035] The connection adapter can preferably be arranged on at least one or more of the mounting rail side walls and / or mounting rail connecting walls and / or secured to them. Thus, depending on the arrangement of the busbars or the design of the connection adapter, it can be provided in any desired manner with the mounting rail or in the mounting rail.

[0036] The connection adapter can preferably be arranged at an axial end of the mounting rail with respect to the longitudinal axis. This allows the connection adapter to be provided as close to the edge as possible with respect to the mounting rail or mounting rail system, thus leaving sufficient space for connecting corresponding components to the mounting rail. The connection adapter can preferably be arranged with its connection section pointing towards the axial end. This allows the coupling section to be effectively directed towards the busbar or to be easily coupled to it. On the other hand, the connection section can be easily accessible because it is provided on an end face of the mounting rail, thus facilitating the connection of external electrical conductors.

[0037] The mounting rail system can preferably comprise a plurality of mounting rails and (preferably correspondingly) a plurality of busbars, wherein one of the connection adapters can be inserted or is inserted into at least one of the mounting rails. Thus, any mounting rail system of any length and with any number of branches can be provided. If required, one or more connection adapters can then be provided, which offer the advantages already described.

[0038] The multiple support rails are preferably arranged in a row, one behind the other, preferably in such a way that their receiving spaces form a continuous system interior. This makes it particularly easy to connect electrical power from construction sites to any position in the support rail system.

[0039] At least two adjacent support rails of the plurality of support rails can preferably be mechanically connected to one another via a connector, which more preferably extends along the longitudinal axis or at least partially angled thereto. Thus, the support rails can be easily connected to one another and, preferably, also provided with a variable extension direction as needed.

[0057] The connection section 30 can have a connection terminal 31. Preferably, each of the connection points 30 can be formed by a spring-loaded terminal connection 32.

[0058] The coupling section 2 and the connection section 3 can preferably be arranged axially in series one behind the other, as is particularly evident from the illustration in Fig. 2. The coupling section 2 and the connection section 3 can preferably be arranged axially at opposite ends of the connection adapter i, as is also preferably evident from the illustration in Fig. 2.

[0059] As can be seen in particular from Figs. 1-7, the connection adapter 1 can further comprise a carrier 4 which comprises the coupling section 2 and the connection section 3 or, as shown here, carries them.

[0060] The carrier 4 preferably has, as can be seen in particular from the illustrations in Figs. 1, 2, 4 and 5, a U-shaped cross-section seen in the direction of the extension axis X with two side legs 41, 42 and a connecting leg 43 connecting the side legs 41, 42, which together delimit an interior space 40.

[0061] At least one or each of the side legs 41, 42 and / or the connecting leg 43 can preferably have the connecting section 3 and the coupling section 2. In the exemplary embodiment illustrated here, as can be seen in particular from Fig. 2, each of the side legs 41, 42 has a coupling section 2 and a connecting section 3, respectively.

[0062] The connection section 3 and the coupling section 2 are preferably arranged at least partially or completely accommodated in the interior space 40, as can be seen in all Figs. 1-7.

[0063] The connection adapter 1 further comprises connecting sections 5 for mechanically coupling the connection adapter 1 inserted into the support rail 110 to the support rail 110. Some of these connecting sections 5 are shown as examples in Figs. 1-5.

[0064] The carrier 4, if present, can preferably have the connecting sections 5, as can also be seen in Figs. 1-7.

[0065] Each of the guide channels 22 may preferably have a sliding contact element 21 to receive the conductor ends 124, wherein the sliding contact element 21 is electrically connected to the associated connection point 30.

[0066] The guide channels 22, preferably at least their sliding contact element 21, can preferably be connected to the respectively associated connection points 30 via an electrical connecting part (not visible here), such as a wire bridge. Each of the electrical connecting parts can be arranged axially between the associated guide channel 22 and the associated connection point 30, as can be seen by way of example in Fig. 2.

[0067] Each of the connection points 30 may preferably have a further spring-loaded terminal connection which is connected to the associated electrical connection part.

[0068] As can be seen in particular from Fig. 2, the connecting terminal 31 can preferably have a terminal housing 34, which at least partially or completely accommodates the spring-loaded terminal connections 32. The terminal housing 34 is preferably made of an insulating material.

[0069] The electrical connecting parts can preferably be covered with an insulating part 7, as can be seen in particular from Figs. 2, 4 and 5.

[0070] The connection adapter 1 can preferably further comprise a manipulation element 8, by means of which the connection adapter 1 is axially movable (cf. Figs. 2, 4, 5); this is preferably the case when it is arranged in a support rail 110 (preferably axially displaceable or sliding), as can be seen, for example, from Figs. 8-10.

[0071] The insulating part 7 can particularly preferably have the manipulation element 8, as can also be seen from Figs. 2, 4 and 5.

[0072] The connection adapter may further comprise a grounding contact 9, which is provided or arranged in an outwardly exposed manner, as can be seen in particular from the illustrations in Figs. 1-5. The grounding contact 9 may preferably be electrically coupled to the carrier 4, as can be seen, for example, from Figs. 1, 2, 6, and 7, or may also be formed integrally therewith.

[0073] The connecting section 3 and / or the coupling section 2 is / are preferably provided in a detachable manner; particularly preferably, they are each detachably connected to the support 4. This can be seen in particular in the illustrations of Figs. 1-3. It can be seen therein that the coupling section 2 and the connecting section 3 are, for example, suspended or snapped into the support. With reference to Figs. 8-10, a support rail system 100 according to the invention is described below.

[0074] The support rail system 100 according to the invention has, on the one hand, a support rail 110 extending along a longitudinal axis L.

[0075] The mounting rail system 100 also includes the previously described busbar 120. This is arranged within the mounting rail 110.

[0076] The support rail 100 further comprises the connection adapter 1 according to the invention, as already described above.

[0077] The connection adapter 1 can then be inserted or inserted into the support rail 110 with its extension axis X aligned parallel to the longitudinal axis L, preferably axially displaceable, so that the guide channels 22 each continue one of the busbar guide channels 122 and each receive one of the conductor ends 124 in such a way that the conductor end 124 is electrically connected to the connection point 30 assigned to the guide channel 22, as can be seen in particular from the illustrations in Figs. 9 and 10.

[0078] As can also be seen from Figs. 9 and 10, the support rail 110 can have a U-shaped cross-section, viewed in the direction of the longitudinal axis L, with two support rail side walls 111, 112 and a support rail connecting wall 113 connecting the support rail side walls 111, 112, which together delimit a receiving space 114 in which the busbar 120 is arranged and the connection adapter 1 can be inserted.

[0079] The connection adapter can preferably be arranged on and / or secured to at least one or more of the support rail side walls 111, 112 and / or the support rail connecting wall 113. In the illustrations, the U-shaped connection adapter 1 is inserted into the likewise U-shaped support rail 110 in such a way as to be supported against all three side walls (i.e., both side limbs 41, 42 and the connecting limb 43) and to be mechanically coupled to them—here by means of the connecting sections 5.

[0080] The connection adapter 1 can preferably be arranged at an axial end of the support rail 110 with respect to the longitudinal axis L, as is evident for all connection adapters 1 in the illustrations of Figs. 8-10. The connection adapter 1 is preferably arranged with its connection section 3 pointing toward the axial end. This is also evident, among other things, from Fig. 10, where the connection sections 3 of two connection adapters 1 of adjacent support rails 110 are directed toward each other and can thus be electrically connected to one another, for example, in the sense of through-wiring; this is then done via their corresponding connection section 3.

[0081] As can also be seen from Fig. 8-10, the support rail system 100 can also have a plurality of support rails 110 with a corresponding plurality of busbars 120, wherein one of the connection adapters 1 can be inserted or is inserted into at least one of the support rails 110.

[0082] The multiple support rails 110 can preferably be arranged in a row, one behind the other. This is preferably done in such a way that their receiving spaces 114 form a continuous system interior 130.

[0083] At least two adjacent ones of the plurality of support rails 110 can preferably be mechanically connected to one another via a connector 140, which preferably extends along the longitudinal axis L or at least partially angled thereto. For example, in the illustration in Fig. 10, an L-shaped angled connector is shown. A support rail 110 is arranged at each of its two opposite ends. Towards the connector 140, each of the support rails 110 has one of the connection adapters 1, which are correspondingly directed towards one another with their connection sections 3. The system interior 130 here extends further over the connector 140, which correspondingly accommodates the connection between the connection sections 3, for example serving as through-wiring.

[0084] The present invention is not limited to the embodiments described above, as long as it is encompassed by the subject matter of the following claims.
