Abstract
Description
[0001] WASTE OIL COLLECTION SYSTEM
[0002] Technical Field
[0003] The invention particularly relates to a waste oil collection system for the collection and recycling of domestic waste oil.
[0004] Known State of the Art
[0005] Nowadays, the types and quantities of oils used in the European Union countries have been determined and approximately 21.8 million tonnes of oil is consumed and this amount is increasing by 2% every year.
[0006] In Turkey, approximately 1.7 million tonnes of vegetable oil is consumed every year. Approximately 350,000 tonnes of this amount cannot be consumed as vegetable oil waste and these waste oils cannot be collected by consumers and are discharged from sinks. These oils, which are combined into water and soil, pollute the sea and land creatures due to their ecotoxic properties and pollute the our current ecosystem.
[0007] The following details how waste oils pollute the environment.
[0008] 1 ) What is vegetable waste oil?
[0009] Used frying oils constitute a large portion of vegetable waste oil. It is estimated that there are approximately 350,000,000 litres of used vegetable waste oil in Turkey every year.
[0010] 2) How do vegetable waste oils combine into water and soil?
[0011] 90 out of every 100 people clean used waste oils by pouring them into the sink. The oils poured into the sink together with wastewater combine into the soil, sewers, lakes and seas. When the oils are poured into the garbage, they are first combined into the soil in the landfill areas and then into the available groundwater.
[0012] 3) How do waste oils pollute the environment? 1 litre of waste oil pollutes 1 ,000,000 litres of drinking water. According to official sources, it has been determined that 25% of waste water pollution is caused by used vegetable and animal oils.
[0013] Waste oils have eco-toxic properties. It pollutes the environment and harms living organisms in its environment. They pollute groundwater, affect underwater living beings, cause blockages in sewerage systems and wastewater treatment plants and increasing the pollution load and thereby increase the cost of operation and maintenance, and cause pollution when poured on the soil. Furthermore, these oils mixed into the sea and lake degrade in water over time and reduce oxygen in water. It pollutes sea and land creatures, briefly, the whole ecosystem.
[0014] The summary of the application 2021 / 010286, which emerged as a result of technical research are as follows; "This invention relates to a waste oil collection container to be located at the entrances of apartment buildings in order to enable the reuse of waste oils generated at home for recycling and to facilitate their collection, characterised by; waste oil pouring chamber on the upper side which allows waste oils to be disposed of, strainer on the lower side which allows waste oils to be filtered, waste oil pipes which allow waste oils to pass through the strainer, tank for collecting waste oils, cover which allows the waste oil tank to be taken out, It is characterised by a light indicator and level indicator sensor that shows whether the waste oil tank is full or not, a distance sensor that detects when waste oil is spilled into the container, a microcontroller card that gives a voice thank you message with social content to the person who brings the oil when waste oil is spilled, and a sensor that plays sound, electronic system box. "
[0015] As can be seen, the system is related to the structure that enables the storage of waste oils under the houses, but there is no mention of a solution on how to collect the oils from the houses.
[0016] As a result, due to the above-mentioned negativities and the inadequacy of the existing solutions on the subject, it has become necessary to make a development in the relevant technical field. Purpose of Invention
[0017] The invention purposes to provide a structure with different technical features that brings a new opening in this field, unlike the structures used in the present art.
[0018] The primary purpose of the invention is to collect waste oils and prevent pollution to the environment.
[0019] Another purpose of the invention is to ensure that the waste oils earn money for the users and bring them into the economy.
[0020] For example, in a building of 44 flats, we know that there are 4 people in each flat and the monthly waste oil value of an average family is 5 litres. For 44 apartments, this count is 220 litres per month and 2,640 litres per year. 2,640 litres of oil at a unit price of 30 tl (1 usd) means that the building will receive a payment of 79,200 tl (2,640 usd).
[0021] The benefits and advantages of the invention are as follows;
[0022] • environmental impact - benefits land, sea and lake life
[0023] • Protecting treated waters (1 litre of waste oil pollutes 1 million litres of water and this pollution is prevented).
[0024] • By means of the waste oils contributing to biodiesel energy production, it reduces the CARBON footprint of people by enabling them to contribute to the production of green energy, which is sustainable and efficient energy for nature.
[0025] • By means of the waste oil measurement counters in each apartment, people's contributions to the environment can be rewarded depending on their CARBON footprint.
[0026] • By means of the common counters of the buildings, the buildings can be rewarded with Green Energy class.
[0027] • buildings benefit from the collected waste oils up to significant amounts.
[0028] • new business area is created - (for mechanical installation companies) • the existing business field is revived and activated (for waste oil collection centres)
[0029] • it prevents blockages and excessive pollution in wastewater treatment plants and sewers, reduces maintenance and operating costs
[0030] • it enables people to fulfil their individual duties towards the environment.
[0031] In order to fulfil the purposes described above, the invention is a waste oil collection system for the collection and recycling of domestic waste oil from buildings, characterised in that it comprises;
[0032] • Drain line that reaches the apartments I relevant parts of the building and ensures the transfer of waste oils,
[0033] • Drain cover that allows waste oils to be conveyed I poured into the drain line by users,
[0034] • Filter for filtering and cleaning the waste oils entering through the drain cover,
[0035] • Oil tank where waste oils collected through the discharge line are transferred and accumulated,
[0036] • a waste oil centre where the waste oil collected in the oil tank is taken by the waste oil collection vehicle.

[0059] Detailed Description of the Invention
[0060] In this detailed description, the preferred embodiments of the invention are described only for the purpose of a better understanding of the subject matter and without any limiting effect.
[0061] The invention relates to a waste oil (70) collection system (A) for collecting and utilising domestic waste oil (70) from buildings (10).
[0062] The inventive system is a system that can be applied to all kinds of buildings (10) such as apartment buildings, detached houses, factories, etc.
[0063] In the system according to the invention, a drain line (30) is delivered to the flats or relevant parts of the buildings (10). The drain line (30) preferably reaches the kitchen part of the apartment. Apart from this, it can also be positioned in any part of the building. At the end of the drain line (30), there is a drain cover (20) through which waste oils (70) are allowed to enter. Users pour waste oil (70) into the drain cover (20). The waste oil (70) poured into the drain cover (20) is passed through the filter (21 ) to remove solid impurities. The filter (21 ) is removable, cleanable and replaceable. All filters used in the system are made of stainless steel.
[0064] The waste oil (70) collected by means of the drain line (30) is transferred to and stored in a waste oil reservoir (40), preferably located in the basement or any other suitable area of the building (10). The drain line (30) comprises at least one valve (31 ) for filter cleaning and also a main filter (32). The main filter (32) on this vertical line and an antiodour (33) check valve at the inlet of the tank are integrated into the system.
[0065] In order to prevent freezing of the waste oils (70), there is a resistance (41 ) in the waste oil reservoir (40). The resistance (41 ) ensures that the waste oil (70) is heated at the desired rate. The waste oil reservoir (40) also contains a temperature gauge (42) and a display panel (43). This is because the temperature gauge (42) provides the advantage of control against freezing with the panel. The display panel (43) allows the fullness of the tank to be monitored. On the other hand; with the drainage valve (44) integrated into the tank, the waste oils accumulated in the tank are discharged to the outside and at the same time for periodic maintenance and controls. In addition, waste oils are discharged by means of the drain pump (45) configured on the tank.
[0066] Waste oil (70) collected in the waste oil reservoir (40) is taken to the waste oil centre by the waste oil collection vehicle (50). The waste oil collection vehicle (50) has at least one drain valve (51 ). The drain valve (51 ) is on the garden wall of the building and will exit to an area suitable for vehicle parking. The relevant persons are paid according to the amount of waste oil (70) collected. The system also has a fire extinguisher (60) for safety purposes. By means of the tube, it is ensured that the tube is used in case of possible fire and fire splash situations.
[0067] On the other hand; it includes a counter (34) that provides monthly and annual measurement of the oils entering the waste oil reservoir (40), and a control tracking panel (80) with a software that records the carbon footprint of the building and apartments, which is determined by means of the said counter (34) and enables the measurement and control of the amount of oil from the relevant building (10) on an annual basis. These counters (34) are configured individually in each apartment. The individual counters (34) measure the amount of waste oil of each apartment, and the total amount of waste oil of the building is measured by the main counter (34).
