Abstract
Description
Booklet
[0001] The present disclosure relates to a booklet including multiple pages, in which multiple reference items can be commonly recorded, referenced, and managed across at least some of the multiple pages. This application claims priority based on Japanese patent application No. 2024-033372, filed with the Japan Patent Office on February 16, 2024, the contents of which are incorporated herein by reference for all purposes and constitute a part of this specification.
[0002] In the fields of sports, daily exercise, strength training, and the like, it is common for people who exercise or train to record their daily training results, such as when, what, and how much they did, in a diary or notebook. For example, there is an increasing number of cases where dedicated record notebooks specialized for recording training are used, such as those disclosed in Non-Patent Document 1.
[0003] Patent document 1 also discloses a book bound together with a plurality of first sheets of paper and at least one second sheet of paper that is wider than the first sheets of paper, in which different tasks are printed on each of the plurality of first sheets of paper, and reference information that can be commonly used to answer the tasks printed on the plurality of first sheets of paper is printed on the side of the second sheet of paper on which the first sheet of paper is bound, in a wider area than the first sheet of paper (a common item entry column).

[0006] A general-purpose training log book such as that described in Non-Patent Document 1 is generally divided into pages by training date, with the input fields left blank. Therefore, it is necessary to enter the training items and training dates on each page, which is a burden for the user. Furthermore, in the book disclosed in Patent Document 1, although this document does not suggest such a use, it is theoretically possible to enter multiple training items horizontally in the common item entry field and record the training results related to each of the multiple training items on each page (first piece of paper) while referring to the multiple training items, the structure of the book, however, means that when a user reviews the records on each page, the training items entered in the common item entry field and the training results entered in the entry fields on each page cannot be visually recognized as being in order or consistent with each other, which leaves a problem of making it difficult to easily visually confirm and overview the training results.

[0020] 1 is a schematic perspective view showing the front (cover) of a booklet according to one embodiment; FIG. 2 is a schematic perspective view showing a second index section (folded) of a booklet according to one embodiment; FIG. 3 is a schematic perspective view showing a second index section (unfolded) of a booklet according to one embodiment; FIG. 4 is a schematic perspective view showing a third ticket of a booklet according to one embodiment in a spread state (second index section unfolded); FIG. 5 is a schematic perspective view showing a first ticket of a booklet according to one embodiment in a spread state (second index section unfolded); FIG. 6 is a schematic view showing the configuration of a fourth ticket of a booklet according to one embodiment; FIG. 7 is a schematic view showing the configuration of an annual calendar page of a booklet according to one embodiment; FIG. 8 is a schematic perspective view showing an example of how to use a third ticket of a booklet according to one embodiment (spread state, second index section unfolded); FIG. 9 is a schematic perspective view showing an example of how to use a first ticket of a booklet according to one embodiment (spread state, second index section unfolded); FIG. 10 is a schematic perspective view showing an example of how to use a plurality of first tickets of a booklet according to one embodiment (spread state); FIG. 11 is a schematic perspective view showing a booklet according to another embodiment.
[0021] A booklet according to one aspect of the present invention comprises a plurality of first sheets of paper constituting a plurality of pages and at least one second sheet of paper having a second index section, wherein the plurality of first sheets of paper each have a first writing section, and the at least one second sheet of paper is configured so that at least a portion of the second index section can be extended outside the first sheet of paper, and the first and second index sections each have a plurality of writing columns, and when the booklet is in a usable state with at least a portion of the second index section extended outside the first sheet of paper and the page composed of the plurality of first sheets of paper open, the plurality of second writing columns in the second index section and the plurality of first writing columns in the first writing section are configured to correspond to each other in an approximately horizontal or approximately vertical direction, respectively.
[0022] With the above-described configuration, the user can refer to the multiple second entries (any items such as training tasks, rehabilitation tasks, etc.) entered in the multiple second entry columns of the second heading section (expanded section) of the second sheet of paper, which is expanded outside the first sheet of paper (main body of the booklet), in common on each of the multiple pages comprising the first sheet of paper, and record multiple items (hereinafter referred to as ``first recorded items''; for example, the contents that the user actually performed on a daily basis for specific training tasks, rehabilitation tasks, etc.) related to each of the multiple second entries in the multiple first entry columns of the first entry section. The user can then review the first recorded items in a form in which the multiple second entries and the multiple first recorded items are visually corresponding to each other, allowing the user to easily get an overview of the first recorded items in relation to the multiple second entries.
[0023] [Regarding Corresponding Configurations] In a booklet, there is a possibility that parallax may occur due to differences in height between an unfolded piece of paper and an opened page, and that the entry fields on the two pieces of paper may not correspond to each other depending on the angle from which the planner is viewed. To solve these problems, in some embodiments, in the booklet, the multiple second entry fields on the second piece of paper and the multiple adjacent first entry fields (the multiple first entry fields present on any first piece of paper) are each configured as multiple rows or columns by multiple ruled lines, and in this case, in the used state, the multiple ruled lines forming the multiple second entry fields and the multiple ruled lines forming the multiple first entry fields can each be aligned to form approximately straight lines in a substantially horizontal or vertical direction.
[0024] Furthermore, in certain embodiments, the booklet may be configured so that a user can easily identify the corresponding second and first entry fields by attaching a common identifier consisting of a symbol, letter, number, color, or graphic, or a combination of two or more of these, to any location in each of the corresponding second and first entry fields. In the example of the booklet (notebook) shown in Figure 5, 26 letters from a to z are attached as the common identifiers. However, needless to say, the identifiers that can be employed in the present invention are not limited to this.
[0025] In some embodiments, the booklet is configured as a booklet having multiple pages that open left or right and allow for recording by date, and the recording section for one day may consist of one or two double-page spreads.
[0026] [Regarding the First and Second Sheets] In some embodiments, the booklet 10 may employ the following configurations (A) and / or (B) for the configuration of the first and second sheets: (A) A configuration in which at least one second sheet is bound closer to the front cover or rear back cover of the first sheets constituting the plurality of pages, or between two pages made up of the first sheets, and in the used state in which two pages made up of the first sheets are open, the second index section can be extended outside the outer edge (left outer edge, right outer edge, or top outer edge, or bottom outer edge) of the left or right page having the first entry section on the first sheet. (B) With regard to the folding position of the second index portion of the second sheet that is laid out on the outside of the first sheet (booklet body), the fold is formed in a position inside the width or length of the first sheet, or the fold is formed in a position approximately the same as the outer edge (left outer edge, right outer edge, top outer edge, or bottom outer edge) of the first sheet, or the fold is formed in a position outside the width or length of the first sheet. In other words, in this embodiment, the folding position of the second index portion of the second sheet that is laid out on the outside of the first sheet (booklet body) is, in the used state, located inside, approximately the same as, or outside the left or right outer edge, or top or bottom outer edge, of the first sheet that constitutes the left or right page.
[0027] In addition, when the two-page spread consisting of the first piece of paper is open, whether the expanded portion of the second piece of paper 2 on which the second index section 2a is provided is configured to expand in an approximately horizontal direction on the left or right side, or to expand in an approximately horizontal direction on the top or bottom side can be selected appropriately taking into consideration the purpose and specifications of the booklet (vertical writing, horizontal writing, type of language used), etc., and a combination of two or more of these expansion configurations may be adopted.
[0028] In some other embodiments, as shown in Figure 5, a first entry section 1a is provided on the left page of the first ticket 1 that makes up a two-page spread, and the first entry section 1a is provided with a plurality of first entry fields 1c that correspond approximately horizontally to the plurality of second entry fields 2c provided in the unfolded portion of the second ticket. The plurality of second entry fields 2c and the plurality of first entry fields 1c can be formed by displaying a plurality of ruled lines in predetermined areas of the second ticket and the first ticket, respectively.
[0029] In a specific embodiment, as shown in the example of the notebook in Figure 5, the left page of the first slip has a day of the week indicator 1d and a date indicator 1e at the top of the first entry section 1a, and a common identifier 1b consisting of letters (e.g., letters), numbers, colors, or graphics, or a combination of two or more of these, displayed on both ends of the multiple first entry sections 1c to which the multiple second entry sections 2c of the second slip spread section respectively correspond, and a check section 1f is provided next to each identifier (e.g., letters) on the right side. Furthermore, each check section 1f is provided with a check box 1g and an order entry section 1h. By displaying the common identifier 1b also at the right end of the first entry field 1c, the common identifier 1b not only assists in filling out the check section 1f, but also serves as a reference identifier to help the user visually and easily understand which item among the second entry fields a specific first entry item that the user is paying attention to corresponds to, even if parts of the first entry item are hidden by the user's hand (left or right hand) or nearby body parts when filling out the first entry field 1c, etc. with the user's hand (left or right hand).
[0030] Furthermore, in a specific embodiment, as in the example of booklet 10 shown in FIG. 5, the portion of the first piece of paper that constitutes the left page and the portion of the first piece of paper that constitutes the right page are arranged symmetrically across the gutter z1, and the portion of the first piece of paper that constitutes the right page is provided with a separate first entry section 1i, and the first entry section 1i is provided at the top with a Rokuyo display 1j (Rokuyo is a type of traditional Japanese calendar note), a week number within the month display 1k, and an accumulated number of days display section 1l, and below that is provided a fill-in page (a fill-in page for a notebook) with a free entry field 1m, a to-do entry field 1n, a to-buy entry field 1o, a time axis entry field 1p, and fields for blood pressure, weight, and body fat percentage 1q.
[0031] In some embodiments, as shown in the examples of Figures 2 and 3, the second piece of paper 2 forms a page that is wider or taller than the other pieces of paper that make up the booklet 10, and a part of it (the expanded part) is configured to be foldable inside the notebook, and a second heading section 2a is provided in the part that expands further outward than the other pieces of paper (outside the main body of the booklet), so that the information written in the second heading section 2a can be commonly referenced and used on other pages as well.
[0032] In a specific embodiment, as shown in the example of Figures 2 and 3, in addition to the second index section 2a, an additional entry section 2e is provided in the left and right pages of the second slip, which are areas located inside the second index section 2a. Common identifiers 2b (e.g., letters, symbols, etc.) are lined up in the left vertical axis area of the second index section 2a, and a second entry column 2c is provided to the right of them. Furthermore, a fold z2 is formed between the second entry column 2c and the entry section 2e. The left and right pages of the second slip have ruled lines extending from the second index section 2a, and are pages with entry columns in which any items written in the second entry column 2c, such as goals and results, can be entered.
[0033] In certain embodiments, as shown in the example of Figure 3, the top of the left page of the second slip may display, from left to right, Date 1 (2f), Month 1 (2g), Month 2 (2h), and Month 3 (2i), and then, across the throat (z1) of the page, the top of the right page of the second slip may display, from left to right, Month 4 (2j), Month 5 (2k), Month 6 (2l), and Date 2 (2m).
[0034] As shown in the example in Figure 3, for example, Date 1 (2f) may be filled in with the date one day before the planner entry date, and Month 1 (2g) through Month 6 (2l) may be filled in with the months during which the planner is used. Furthermore, for Date 2 (2m), for example, the last day of planner entry may be filled in. The user can then fill in any blank space (box) configured in this embodiment with personal goals, results, or other items of their choice.
[0035] [Regarding the Third Ticket] In some embodiments, in addition to the first and second tickets, the booklet 10 may further include at least one third ticket (e.g., a ticket with a check mark for each date for each second entry) on which predetermined items (e.g., whether or not a training task was completed) can be recorded by date for each second entry item over a predetermined period of two or more days (e.g., a one-month period). In the example shown in FIG. 4 , the third ticket 3 has multiple check marks 3a for one month corresponding to the multiple second entry columns 2c on the second ticket 2. The multiple check marks 3a for one month are lined with multiple ruled lines designed to connect from the second entry columns 2c. A common identifier 3b (e.g., letters such as alphabets) corresponding to the common identifier 2b in the second entry columns 2c is arranged on the left vertical axis of the left page, and a month indicator 3e and date indicators 3f ranging from 1 to 31 are arranged on the upper horizontal axis spanning from the left page to the right page.
[0036] In the example shown in Figure 4, the left page of the third ticket 3 has check marks for the 1st to the 15th, and the right page of the third ticket 3 has check marks for the 16th to the 31st. In addition, a gutter z1 is formed between the 15th and 16th. However, the configuration of the third ticket is not limited to this.
[0037] [Regarding the Fourth Ticket] In some embodiments, the booklet 10 may further include, in addition to the first and second tickets, at least one fourth ticket (a ticket including a calendar display) as shown in Fig. 6. In the example shown in Fig. 6, the at least one fourth ticket includes a plurality of fourth tickets 4, one of which is shown in Fig. 6 as an example. The example of the fourth ticket 4 shown in Fig. 6 is roughly a calendar display page that displays a plurality of date displays 4e corresponding to the dates displayed in the date display areas 1e of the plurality of first tickets 1, and a plurality of accumulated day display areas 4f corresponding to the accumulated days displayed in the accumulated day display areas 1l of the plurality of first tickets 1.
[0038] In a specific embodiment, as shown in the example of FIG. 6 , at least one or more fourth slips 4 may include a day of the week indicator 4d at the top of the page. Furthermore, at least one or more fourth slips 4 may have a 9-by-7 table below the day of the week indicator 4d. Each box contains a date indicator 4e for the corresponding period covered by the booklet (e.g., a planner) and an accumulated number of days indicator 4f, thereby forming an accumulated number of days table. However, in the example of FIG. 6 , the accumulated number of days indicator is intentionally omitted for holidays, and instead of this, a holiday name indicator 4g written in red is provided. Needless to say, in another embodiment, an accumulated number of days indicator may be provided in the box corresponding to the holiday, along with or instead of the holiday name indicator. In addition, while the example of FIG. 6 shows a calendar display with 9 vertical cells (a 9-by-7 table), the booklet of the present invention may employ any number of vertical and horizontal cells; this is not a limitation.
[0039] [Other Paper / Page Elements] In some embodiments, the booklet may include other basic paper / page elements that make up the booklet. Examples of such paper / page elements include an annual calendar page; a contact information page; and a reference page that displays various general information such as unit conversions, various public systems, various loans, medical systems, insurance, and postage. As an example of such other paper / page elements, an annual calendar page is shown in FIG. 7. In the example of the annual calendar page shown in FIG. 7, the display of each day of the week may be performed in the same way as the identifier (e.g., color) that represents each day of the week used on the first or fourth paper.
[0040] [Regarding Identifiers] While not required, the booklet of the present invention may employ an "identifier capable of identifying a specific component or display" in at least one of the elements constituting the booklet. Examples of such identifiers include at least one of the following forms (I) to (IV) in at least one of the elements constituting the booklet (e.g., page components such as pieces of paper, heading sections, and development sections), and one or more of these forms may be employed. (I) Specific displays, components, or predetermined locations (e.g., columns, boxes, the ruled lines and other diagrams, spaces, etc.) may be provided with the same mark, letter, number, symbol, graphic, color, predetermined punched hole / embossing, two-dimensional code, or other code, or a combination thereof. (II) Different fonts are used for each specific display of letters and / or symbols (using the same font). (III) Predetermined marks are provided on the edge of the booklet (planner), like a dictionary. (IV) Predetermined indexes are provided, like an address book. Examples of the "specific components or indications" in the "identifier that can identify specific components or indications" include the month; day of the week; date; public holiday; multiple entry fields in the second heading section of the second slip of paper, and multiple entry fields or other fields that correspond to these entry fields and are provided on other slips of paper or pages (e.g., the first entry section of the first slip of paper).
[0041] In some embodiments, if the booklet is a booklet (planner) that displays the days of the week, the same predetermined identifier for each day of the week may be used on at least some of the slips or pages that display the days of the week. For example, colors may be used as the identifiers. More specifically, the first slip 1 may be configured, for example, using seven colors for the ruled lines 1r and the day of the week indicators 1d that make up the first slip 1 ( FIGS. 5 and 10 ). Similarly, the day of the week indicators 4d displayed on the fourth slip 4 may be configured using the same seven colors as the first slip 1 ( FIG. 6 ). In addition, if the booklet includes slips or pages with an annual calendar display that includes the days of the week, as shown in FIG. 7 , the annual calendar display may also be configured with colors as the identifiers for the days of the week.
[0042] More specifically, in the booklet, the day of the week indicators 1d provided on each element and the ruled lines 1r that make up each element are colored the same color as an identifier for each associated day of the week, thereby indicating the type of associated day of the week, and for example, the following color schemes can be used: However, needless to say, the identifiers used in the booklet of the present invention are not limited to these.
[0043] Monday color scheme (1s): pink, Tuesday color scheme (1t): skin tone, Wednesday color scheme 1u: green, Thursday color scheme (1v): emerald green, Friday color scheme (1w): yellow-green, Saturday color scheme (1x): blue, Sunday color scheme (1y): light blue (see FIG. 10 for each symbol). More specifically, in a specific embodiment, the various colors are applied as identifiers for each day of the week to the display of the days of the week and the ruled lines corresponding to the days of the week in FIGS. 5, 6, 7, and 10, allowing the user to easily visually identify the days of the week.
[0044] [Variations According to Another Embodiment] Fig. 11 shows the form of a booklet (e.g., a notebook) according to another embodiment. The booklet shown in Fig. 11 is in a usable state with the two-page spread consisting of the first sheet open, the second index section of the second sheet unfolded, and the unfolded section of the further sheet unfolded.
[0045] 11 is a booklet that can be used by a patient receiving treatment including rehabilitation training and / or the doctor in charge of the patient. More specifically, the doctor in charge of the patient fills in the various entry fields provided in the booklet when, for example, interviewing, examining, and treating the patient as needed, and the patient and / or doctor can refer to and overview the specified items filled in by the doctor in chronological order, which can be useful in treating the patient's illness or disability.
[0046] The booklet 100 generally includes a plurality of first sheets 101 constituting a plurality of pages, a second sheet 102 having a second heading section 102a, and a further sheet 105 having a heading section 105a (reference information heading section) on which various information for reference is displayed.
[0047] More specifically, the second sheet 102 has folds formed in predetermined locations so that the second index section 102a can be unfolded outside the first sheet 101 (the main body of the booklet 100). A heading "Physician's Notes" is pre-marked at the top of the second index section, and below that is a ruled table including a top column displaying an item called "To Do" and a ten-line second entry column 102c. Numbers 1 through 10 are displayed in ascending order on the left side of the ten-line second entry column 102c as a common identifier 102b. In other words, when starting treatment for a patient, the doctor can set up to ten specific items of rehabilitation training that the patient should undergo and enter them in the second entry column 102c.
[0048] 11, in the booklet 100, the first sheets 101 making up the multiple pages have a date entry section 101n in the upper right corner of the left page when the two-page spread is in use, and the two pages are provided with doctor's entry columns for various items corresponding to one day's date. Here, the doctor enters the date corresponding to the entry date (year, month, and day of the week in parentheses) in the date entry section 101n.
[0049] The configuration of the left and right pages of the two-page spread corresponding to one day's date on the first tickets 101 will be described in detail below.
[0050] 11, the left-hand page has a table formed by ruled lines and consisting of a plurality of columns (boxes) of 11 rows and 5 columns, with the columns in the top row displaying, starting from the second column, the following items: "Goal," "Implementation," "Time," and "Pain" (degree of pain), and the rows in the left-hand column displaying, starting from the second row, the numbers 1 to 10. As shown in FIG. 11, when the second index section 102a of the second ticket 101 is unfolded to the outside left of the left-hand page of the first ticket 101 (the main body of the booklet 100) and two pages made up of the plurality of first tickets 101 are opened, the tables are configured so that the lines constituting each row of the table in the second index section 102a (the top column and the 10-row second entry column 102c) and the lines of the table on the left-hand page substantially coincide horizontally. In other words, the rows of the table in the second index section 102a of the second ticket and the rows of the table in the first entry section 101a of the first ticket are configured to correspond to each other horizontally in the above-mentioned usage state, and as a result, the numbers 1 to 10 displayed on the left side of both tables as common identifiers 102b, 101b are also positioned so that they correspond to each other in an approximately horizontal direction.
[0051] In the table on the left page, corresponding to the columns of "Goal," "Content of Action," and "Time" displayed in the top row, there are a plurality of goal entry fields 101c, content of action entry fields 101d, and time entry fields 101e, which are initially blank below these fields, and when examining a patient, the doctor enters in these fields items related to the "to-do" items (up to 1 to 10 items) entered in the second entry section 102c of the second slip 102 (i.e., entering second items). Next, before the patient begins rehabilitation training on a specific day, the doctor can set specific goals for that specific day in the goal entry fields 101c for the second entry items related to the "to-do" items (up to 1 to 10 items). Next, the doctor interviews the patient about the rehabilitation training sessions they actually performed on that day, and based on the interview results, can enter the sessions in the session entry field 101d and the time the patient actually spent on each session in the time entry field 101e. Additionally, the "Pain" column at the top of the screen has ten entry fields 101f, each of which is pre-displayed with a letter representing the pain level: "none," "mild," "medium," or "severe." Similarly, based on the results of the patient's examination, the doctor can record the pain level of the body parts to which up to one to ten of the "to do" sessions may relate by marking the appropriate pain level among "none," "mild," "medium," or "severe."
[0052] Next, on the right-hand page, which corresponds to one side of each first ticket 101, there is provided a physical condition entry section 101o, which has a "Physical Condition" item at the top, the letters "Good" and "Poor," the symbol "( )," and a space (blank) pre-displayed. That is, if the doctor determines that the patient's physical condition is good after examining the patient, he or she marks "Good," and if the doctor determines that the patient's physical condition is poor, he or she marks "Poor." Furthermore, if the doctor determines that there is anything about the patient's physical condition that should be noted, he or she can make a note of that matter in parentheses.
[0053] 11 , below the physical condition entry section 101o on the right-hand page, a generally rectangular table is formed by lines, with a plurality of columns (boxes) of 11 rows and 2 columns, and a plurality of columns (boxes) of 4 rows and 1 column, arranged side by side. In the table, the top row of the 11 rows and 2 columns displays, from left to right, the items "exercise intensity (%)" and "memo." The right-hand column displays, from top to bottom, the items "medication," "body temperature," "blood pressure," "height," "weight," and "BMI," providing entry fields for each item. In other words, with the above table configuration, the right-hand page is provided with an exercise intensity entry section 101g and a memo entry section 101h as entry fields for the second entry items ("to do" list), which may contain up to 10 items. It also includes a medication status recording section 101j, a body temperature recording section 101k, a blood pressure recording section 101l, and a height, weight, and BMI recording section 101m.
[0054] Here, in the table on the left page, with respect to the 11 rows and 2 columns portion in which the items "exercise intensity (%)" and "notes" are displayed in the columns of the top row, the rows that make up this portion are configured so that when the second index section 102a of the second sheet of paper is expanded outside the first sheet of paper 101 (the main body of the booklet 100) and two pages of the multiple pages made up of multiple first sheets of paper 101 are opened, the rows of the table (the top column and the 10 second entry columns 102c) in the second index section 102a of the second sheet of paper and the rows that make up the 11 rows and 2 columns portion of the table on the right page are configured so that the lines that make up each row roughly coincide horizontally with the lines of the table configured on the left page. In other words, each row of the table in the second index section 102a of the second piece of paper and each row of the 11 rows by 2 columns portion of the table in the first entry section 101a of the left page of the first piece of paper and the table on the right page (i.e., the rows corresponding to the exercise intensity entry section 101g and the memo entry section 101h) are configured to correspond to each other approximately horizontally when in use.
[0055] In the multiple exercise intensity entry fields 101g and memo entry fields 101h in the table on the right-hand page, the former fields are pre-populated with the values "25", "50", "75" and "100" as exercise intensity (%), while the latter fields are initially blank.
[0056] Furthermore, the medication status recording section 101j has the options "morning," "afternoon," "evening," and "night" pre-displayed, the body temperature recording section 101k includes fields for entering body temperature measurements and measurement times, the blood pressure recording section 101l includes fields for entering blood pressure measurements and measurement times, and the height, weight, and BMI recording section 101m includes fields for entering height, weight, and BMI measurements.
[0057] Needless to say, in the table on the right-hand page, doctors can record the patient's rehabilitation training status, physical condition, etc. on a daily basis by filling in or marking the various entry / recording fields mentioned above based on the patient's examination results and various measurement / test results, etc.
[0058] Furthermore, as shown in FIG. 11 , the booklet 100 further includes an additional piece of paper 105 including a header section 105a on which universal reference information is pre-printed or subsequently entered. More specifically, the additional piece of paper 105 is foldable at a predetermined location so that the header section 105a can be unfolded horizontally to the right outside of the first piece of paper 101 (the main body of the booklet 100). In the example shown in FIG. 11 , a gender display section 105b (with the words "male" and "female" pre-printed on the left and right sides) indicating each gender is provided above the header section 105a. In the table described below, each column displays information related to males on the left side and information related to females on the right side, corresponding to the "male" and "female" characters in the gender display section 105b. Note that a doctor, other medical professional, or patient may enter the patient's gender by marking one of the gender characters in the gender display section 105b.
[0059] As shown in FIG. 11, in the heading section 105a, below the gender entry section 105b, a table including various columns (boxes) of four rows and one column is provided by lines, and from the top, there are provided various reference information columns 105c, 105d, 105e, and 105f in which information regarding "average blood pressure," "high blood pressure criteria," "average BMI," "exercise intensity (%)," "awareness," and "heart rate (beats / minute)" is respectively written. In more detail, the reference information column 105c lists the average blood pressure (systolic blood pressure / diastolic blood pressure) for men and women for each age group from their 20s to their 70s, the reference information column 105d lists the standard blood pressure values (systolic blood pressure / diastolic blood pressure) that serve as a guideline for hypertension for those under 74 years old and those over 75 years old, the reference information column 105e lists the average BMI (men (right) and women (left)) for each specified age range as shown in Figure 11, along with the BMI calculation formula and standard values indicating the degree of obesity, and the reference information column 105f lists information related to the item ``Exercise intensity (%)'' in the leftmost column of the table on the right page of the first sheet, such as ``Exercise intensity (%),'' ``Awareness,'' and ``Heart rate (beats / minute).''
[0060] With the booklet 100 according to this embodiment, the above-described configuration allows users such as patients, doctors, and other medical professionals to, as part of their daily routine, refer to the items (items related to "to do") previously filled in the second entry column 102c in the second heading section of the second slip, and, as needed, to fill in or refer to the predetermined items in the entry columns on the upper left and right pages of the first slip while referring to the various reference information printed in the heading section 105a on the slip 105. This allows the booklet 100 to increase the patient's motivation for daily rehabilitation training, thereby providing the advantage of efficiently curing or alleviating the patient's disease or disability.
[0061] [Further alternative embodiments] The above-described embodiment adopts a configuration in which the second heading section (second entry column) on the second piece of paper and the further piece of paper having a heading section are extended in an approximately horizontal direction outside the first piece of paper (main body of the booklet), but the configuration of the heading section is not limited to this, and examples include the following embodiments (i) to (v). (i) The booklet includes at least one second slip of paper having a second header section (second entry column), and the second header section (second entry column) of the at least one second slip of paper is laid out in a generally horizontal or generally vertical direction; (ii) The booklet includes at least one second slip of paper having a header section in addition to the at least one second slip of paper having a second header section (second entry column), and the header section of the at least one further slip of paper is laid out in a generally horizontal or generally vertical direction; (iii) In the above embodiment (i), the at least one second slip of paper includes a plurality of second slips, and the second header sections (second entry sections) of at least some of the plurality of second slips are laid out in a generally horizontal direction outside the first slip of paper (booklet body), and the second header sections (second entry sections) of at least some of the remaining second slips are laid out in a generally vertical direction outside the first slip of paper (booklet body); (iv) In the embodiment (ii), the at least one further ticket includes a plurality of further tickets, and the tab sections of at least some of the further tickets are extended in a generally horizontal direction outside the first ticket (the main body of the booklet), and the tab sections of at least some of the remaining further tickets are extended in a generally vertical direction outside the first ticket (the main body of the booklet); (v) A combination of at least two of the embodiments (i) to (iv). Note that the "tab section" of the "at least one further ticket" may be pre-written with information for the user to refer to when using the booklet, and / or may be a section in which the user can write any information they like when using the booklet.
[0062] [Booklet dimensions, specifications and uses] The dimensions of the booklet are not limited unless otherwise specified, and may be determined according to various uses, ease of use, etc. For example, the width and length may be any of the standard sizes of A10 (26 x 37 mm), A9 (37 x 52 mm), A8 (52 mm x 74 mm), A7 (74 mm x 105 mm), A6 (105 mm x 148 mm), B6 size (128 x 182 mm), A5 (148 x 210 mm), B5 (182 x 257 mm), A4 (210 mm x 297 mm), B4 (257 mm x 364 mm), A3 (297 mm x 420 mm), and letter size (8.5 inches x 11 inches / 215.9 mm x 279.4 mm), or 140 mm x 82 mm or less, 156 mm x 91 mm or less, or 170 mm x 85 mm or less. The thickness of the booklet is determined depending on the material, thickness, and number of pieces of paper used to construct the booklet, and is not particularly limited, but from the perspective of portability, examples of thicknesses include thicknesses in the range of about 5 mm to about 35 mm, about 5 mm to about 30 mm, about 7 mm to about 25 mm, or about 7 mm to about 20 mm. For example, when used as a planner, portability is important, so the booklet may be constructed and provided as a half-year planner (about 17 mm thick) that covers six months' worth of dates, or a three-month planner (about 9 mm thick) that covers three months' worth of dates, but the booklet of the present invention is not limited to these dimensions.
[0063] In a booklet, one or more pages may be formed from a single piece of paper, including the first, second, third, and fourth pieces of paper and other pieces of paper, as long as no technical or structural contradictions arise. For example, a single piece of paper may form two pages on both sides, or a single piece of paper may be folded symmetrically to form four pages.
[0064] In addition, the booklet according to the present invention may be provided as, for example, a planner, diary, notebook, or book. Examples of uses of the booklet include, but are not limited to, stationery intended for general users; medical uses intended for doctors, nurses, physical therapists, patients, etc.; research uses intended for researchers; and educational uses intended for teachers and students.
[0065] It should be understood that the above-described embodiments, elements, and other invention-specific matters may be adopted in combination with or in place of each other, unless there is a particular contradiction, and that various embodiments resulting from the mutual adoption of such embodiments, elements, and other invention-specific matters are expressly set forth in this specification.
[0066] Although specific embodiments of the present invention have been described above in detail, the present invention is not limited to the above-described embodiments. Various modifications, alterations, and combinations of the respective configurations, elements, and features may be adopted without departing from the spirit of the present invention.
[0067] In this application, unless otherwise specified, the terms "comprise," "include," "have," "provide," "provide," etc. do not exclude the existence of elements other than those explicitly stated with these terms, and these terms are often used interchangeably.
[0068] In addition, the contents of Japanese Patent Application No. "2024-033372", which is the patent application from which this application claims priority, and the contents of the prior art documents referenced in this specification are incorporated herein by reference for all purposes and constitute a part of this specification.
[0069] Specific examples of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings, however, the booklet according to the present invention is not limited to the examples shown below.
[0070] [Example 1: Training Diary] This example shows a training diary manufactured by employing all of the elements, configurations, and forms shown in Figures 1 to 10. This training diary is provided primarily to general consumers who regularly engage in physical training, such as muscle training, as users, but the types of users and uses are not limited to this. This diary can be owned by, for example, a person who trains (i.e., a "trainee"), and can be used by not only the trainee but also the trainer who supervises the trainee's training by filling out the designated fields and referencing the information entered in the diary.
[0071] The elements that make up this planner, their arrangement, and the structure of the entry columns provided for each element are as described above. Below, we will explain the basic structure of this planner, as well as how users (trainees and / or trainers, the same applies hereinafter) can use this planner.
[0072] This planner was produced by folding a certain number of A5 sheets of paper in half lengthwise and binding them together. When each section is folded, the planner's dimensions are approximately A6 size, making it highly portable. However, the edges of this planner were slightly trimmed during the binding process, so it is technically slightly smaller than A6.
[0073] As mentioned above, the second slip of paper with the second index section 2a can be expanded outside the first slip of paper (the main body of the planner) and folded and stored inside the main body (Figure 2). The second index section 2a has 26 lines of second entry columns 2c, each with an alphabetical character from "a" to "z" as an identifier 2b (Figure 5).
[0074] The user of this notebook writes down the training items he or she will be performing (e.g., training menu, food / meal menu to support training, and / or rest menu, etc.) in the second entry column 2c of the second heading section 2a (Figures 8 and 9).
[0075] Furthermore, with the second heading section 2a unfolded, the user of this planner writes any identifier such as a letter or symbol in the entry fields of the multiple check sections 3a for one month on the third piece of paper 3, and then, as needed, checks the progress of the training items, etc., previously entered in the second entry field 2c of the second heading section 2a, for each month (Figure 4).
[0076] The user of this planner opens the first piece of paper 1 corresponding to the designated implementation date with the second heading section 2a of the second piece of paper 2 unfolded, and for all events (training items, etc.) scheduled to be implemented on that day, enter numbers in the order entry column 1h indicating the implementation order, and / or mark any check box 1g (Figure 5).
[0077] Furthermore, after completing training for each category (training item, etc.), the user of this notebook can enter the specified related information in the first entry field 1c, and if there are numbers in the order entry field 1h, they can check the corresponding check boxes 1g, and if there are check boxes 1g, they can enter numbers indicating the order of training in the order entry table 1h afterwards (Figure 5).
[0078] Furthermore, when a user of this planner checks the previous recorded items (for example, the load, number of times, and order from one week ago), they can check the page for the same day by referring to the colors set for the day of the week 1d and the ruled line 1r (an embodiment that employs the color-based identifier described with reference to Figure 10).
[0079] Furthermore, when the user of this planner finishes training, for example, they check the check section 1f on the first slip to make sure they have not missed any tasks (Figures 5 and 9), and if there are no omissions, they mark the multiple check sections 3a for one month on the third slip 3 (Figure 4).
[0080] As mentioned above, in this planner, the accumulated number of days displayed in the accumulated days display section 11 on the first ticket 1 corresponds to the page number (FIGS. 5 and 9), and the accumulated number of days is also displayed in each entry field displaying each date on the fourth ticket 4, which has a calendar display. Therefore, when using this planner, if a user wants to know the page number corresponding to a specific date and refer to the entry page on the first ticket corresponding to that specific date, they can first check the date 4e and accumulated number of days 4f on the fourth ticket 4 (FIG. 6).
[0081] Figures 8 and 9 show examples of use in which a user has entered specific information into the designated entry fields of this planner. Generally, users who train often set the same training menu for the same day of the week to establish a training habit. Consequently, they inevitably often refer to training records from one week ago. Therefore, with this planner, users can refer to the desired page by slightly tilting the edge of the planner's pages and sliding their thumb along the top edge to turn the pages, similar to turning the pages of a flip book. In this case, the user can determine the day of the week by referring to the color of the ruled lines, which are colored as identifiers for each day of the week, without having to check the date and year. This makes it easy to find training records for the same day (Figure 10).
[0082] In this planner, the first entry section 1a for recording training results and the date display section 1e are located on the left page of the first ticket, while a separate first entry section 1i, where non-training-related information can also be recorded, is located on the right page of the first ticket (see Figures 5 and 9). Therefore, users can unfold the second index section 2a and take a photo of only the second index section 2a and the first entry section 1a (the left page of the first ticket) excluding the right page of the first ticket, so that the right page of the first ticket is intentionally cut off. This allows the user to save the information on the right page of the first ticket (i.e., training results) as a photo image in chronological order and refer to it later. More specifically, users can record their training results, refer to them later, or share them with acquaintances, such as fellow trainers, by posting the photo images of their training records in chronological order on social media, for example. This planner's configuration allows for this type of use.
[0083] [Example 2: Rehabilitation Training Notebook] Based on the configuration shown in Figure 11, a rehabilitation training notebook can be manufactured by preparing a plurality of first sheets, a second index section and second entry column of a second sheet, and additional sheets with an index section containing general medical information, each in a predetermined size and number, and binding them by various methods. The use of this notebook is as described in detail in the embodiment, and one possible use method for this notebook is to have a doctor or other medical professional affiliated with a medical institution such as a hospital write a rehabilitation menu in the index table of this notebook, and have the patient refer to it when performing rehabilitation training.
[0084] [Example 3: Customization for Various Uses] When people in various fields use conventional planners on a daily basis, they often repeatedly enter the same items on different pages. For example, the names of items related to the following are often the same: For those who study regularly, the names of subjects such as English and mathematics; For those who work, the names of purchased items and customer names; For those who participate in club activities, the daily practice menu; For those keeping a household account, the names of items related to income and expenditure. In this regard, the planners shown in Examples 1 and 2 can basically be used for various other purposes by changing the names of items to be entered and the content recorded in each entry field according to the intended use of each user. Various variations of planners can be created by appropriately customizing the item names, identifiers, options, reference information, etc. pre-displayed in each entry field according to the intended use. The inventor, who regularly engages in strength training, found conventional planners inconvenient when recording his or her strength training. The planner configuration shown in Example 1 inspired the inventor to complete the present invention.
[0085] The present invention has high industrial applicability in various fields such as physical training, medical care, and everyday items such as notebooks intended for daily use, and can greatly contribute to supporting and assisting the chronological recording required in various fields.
