Abstract
Description
Graphic data creation device, graphic data creation method, and graphic data creation program
[0001] The present disclosure relates to a graphic data creation device, a graphic data creation method, and a graphic data creation program.
[0002] Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2003-144992 discloses a graphic data creation device that creates drawing data made up of vector data based on a drawing image formed from raster data depicting a part.
[0003] International Publication No. 2023 / 120432
[0004] Drawing images include abbreviated drawings in which parts of an object, such as a component, are broken down and drawn in a shape different from the object's actual shape. Drawing images also include parametric drawings in which at least some of the object's dimensions are represented by variables using alphabetic or other symbols rather than numerical values, resulting in a shape different from the object's actual shape. Drawings in which such objects are drawn in a shape different from their actual shape are referred to as non-proportional dimension drawings.
[0005] The graphic data creation device described in Patent Document 1 cannot create drawing data based on non-proportional dimension drawings. There is a need for a graphic data creation device, a graphic data creation method, and a graphic data creation program that can create drawing data based on non-proportional dimension drawings.
[0006] A first aspect of one or more embodiments includes a non-transitory storage medium storing a graphic data creation program, a central processing unit, and a display unit, wherein the central processing unit executes the graphic data creation program to detect arrows drawn in a drawing image of an arbitrary object that has been read by the central processing unit and displayed on the display unit, detect lines drawn in the drawing image, and detect dimensional information expressed in numbers corresponding to dimension lines indicating dimensions of each of a plurality of locations of the object drawn in the drawing image, extracted based on the detected arrows and lines, and when a dimension line of any of the plurality of locations is drawn at a scale different from that of dimension lines of a plurality of other locations, or when a symbol other than a number is written corresponding to the dimension line of any of the locations, the any of the locations is a non-proportional dimension location drawn with non-proportional dimensions, and the any of the locations is detected as ... and determining, in accordance with the present invention, that the image is a non-proportional dimension drawing including the non-proportional dimension portions, generating additional dimension lines consisting of arrow lines indicating the same range as the dimension lines of each of the portions, corresponding to the dimension lines of each of the portions, displaying the additional dimension lines of each of the portions on the drawing image displayed on the display unit, determining a differential dimension for enlarging or reducing the non-proportional dimension portions in order to draw the non-proportional dimension portions at the same scale as the plurality of other portions, generating lines as guide lines that pass through the tips of the arrows of the additional dimension lines of each of the portions and are perpendicular to the additional dimension lines of each of the portions, displaying the guide lines on the drawing image displayed on the display unit, drawing the outline of the object by selecting, from the plurality of guide lines, a guide line that passes through an end of the object in the drawing image, and generating drawing data in which the non-proportional dimension portions of the outline of the object in the drawing image are enlarged or reduced by the differential dimension.
[0007] In a second aspect of one or more embodiments, a computer device reads a drawing image of an object and displays it on a display unit, detects arrows drawn in the drawing image, detects lines drawn in the drawing image, and detects dimensional information expressed in numbers corresponding to dimension lines indicating dimensions of each of a plurality of locations of the object drawn in the drawing image, extracted based on the detected arrows and lines. When a dimension line of any of the plurality of locations is drawn at a different scale from dimension lines of a plurality of other locations or a symbol other than a number is written corresponding to the dimension line of any of the locations, the computer device determines that the any of the locations is a non-proportional dimension location drawn in non-proportional dimensions, and the drawing image is a non-proportional dimension drawing including the non-proportional dimension location. The computer device then extracts dimension information of each of the locations corresponding to the dimension lines of each of the locations. a method for generating additional dimension lines consisting of arrow lines indicating the same range as dimension lines at each location, displaying the additional dimension lines at each location on the drawing image displayed on the display unit, calculating a differential dimension for enlarging or reducing the non-proportional dimension location in order to draw the non-proportional dimension location drawn with the non-proportional dimensions at the same scale as the plurality of other locations, generating lines that pass through the tips of the arrows of the additional dimension lines at each location and are perpendicular to the additional dimension lines at each location as guide lines, displaying the guide lines on the drawing image displayed on the display unit, drawing the outline of the object by selecting one of the plurality of guide lines that passes through an end of the object in the drawing image, and generating drawing data in which the non-proportional dimension location of the outline of the object in the drawing image is enlarged or reduced by the differential dimension.
[0008] A third aspect of one or more embodiments includes the steps of: reading a drawing image of an object into a computer device and displaying it on a display unit; detecting arrows drawn in the drawing image; detecting lines drawn in the drawing image; detecting dimensional information expressed in numbers corresponding to dimension lines indicating dimensions of each of a plurality of locations of the object drawn in the drawing image, extracted based on the detected arrows and lines; determining that, when a dimension line of any of the plurality of locations is drawn at a scale different from that of dimension lines of a plurality of other locations or a symbol other than a number is written corresponding to the dimension line of any of the locations, the any of the locations is a non-proportional dimension location drawn in non-proportional dimensions, and the drawing image is a non-proportional dimension drawing including the non-proportional dimension location; and determining, corresponding to the dimension lines of each of the locations, a range equal to the dimension lines of each of the locations. a step of generating additional dimension lines consisting of arrow lines indicating the distance between the object and the object; a step of displaying the additional dimension lines of each location on the drawing image displayed on the display unit; a step of calculating differential dimensions for enlarging or reducing the non-proportional dimension locations in order to draw the non-proportional dimension locations drawn with the non-proportional dimensions at the same scale as the other locations; a step of generating lines that pass through the tips of the arrows of the additional dimension lines of each location as guide lines and are perpendicular to the additional dimension lines of each location; a step of displaying the guide lines on the drawing image displayed on the display unit; a step of drawing the outline of the object by selecting, from the plurality of guide lines, a guide line that passes through an end of the object in the drawing image; and a step of generating drawing data in which the non-proportional dimension locations of the outline of the object in the drawing image are enlarged or reduced by the differential dimensions.

[0011] DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS A graphic data creation device, a graphic data creation method, and a graphic data creation program according to one or more embodiments will be specifically described below with reference to the accompanying drawings.
[0012] As shown in Fig. 1, a graphic data creation device 100 according to one or more embodiments includes a central processing unit 1, a non-transitory storage medium 2, an operation unit 3, and a display unit 4. The non-transitory storage medium 2 stores a graphic data creation program 20 according to one or more embodiments. The graphic data creation device 100 may be configured with a computer device. The central processing unit 1 executes the graphic data creation program 20. When the central processing unit 1 executes the graphic data creation program 20, a working memory (not shown) may be used.
[0013] As shown in FIG. 2, the graphic data creation program 20 includes an AI drawing support program 201 and a graphic editing program 202, which work together to create graphic data (described later). AI stands for artificial intelligence. As shown in FIG. 3, when the central processing unit 1 executes the graphic data creation program 20, the central processing unit 1 functions as a drawing support device 101 and a graphic editing device 102. The central processing unit 1 executes the AI drawing support program 201 to virtually configure the drawing support device 101, and the central processing unit 1 executes the graphic editing program 202 to virtually configure the graphic editing device 102. That is, FIG. 3 shows an example of the functional configuration of the graphic data creation device 100. The drawing support device 101 and the graphic editing device 102 work together.
[0014] The drawing support device 101 includes an arrow detection unit 11, a line detection unit 12, a dimension information detection unit 13, a symbol detection unit 14, a dimension line generation unit 15, a non-proportional dimension determination unit 16, a differential dimension calculation unit 17, a guide line generation unit 18, and an editing unit 19. The graphic editing device 102 includes a drawing unit 21, a graphic transformation unit 22, a surface synthesis unit 23, a graphic data generation unit 24, and an editing unit 25.
[0015] First, we will explain the operation of the graphic data creation device 100 when creating graphic data based on a drawing image 50 with drawing number ABC0001 shown in FIG. 4 , which is a first example of a non-proportional dimension drawing. The drawing image 50 includes a front view 31, a top view 32, and a side view 33 of a part 30. The graphic data of the drawing image 50 may be any graphic data formed using raster data, such as a PDF file, PNG file, or JPEG file. The drawing image 50 is an abbreviated drawing in which two break lines 44a and 44b are drawn in the front view 31 and two break lines 44c and 44d are drawn in the top view 32. Therefore, the part 30 is drawn in a shape that is not similar to the actual shape of the part 30. The part 30 has flanges 30a and 30b, and the flange 30a has four circular holes 34a to 34d.
[0016] In the front view 31, extension lines 41a to 41d are drawn vertically from the centers of the circular holes 34a to 34d, and extension line 41e is drawn vertically from the lower right corner of the part 30. Extension line 41f is drawn horizontally from the lower right corner of the part 30, and extension line 41g is drawn extending to the right of center line 43 connecting the centers of the circular holes 34a to 34d. The notation "4×φ5" indicates that the part 30 has four circular holes with a diameter of 5 mm.
[0017] In the top view 32, extension lines 41h and 41i are drawn vertically from the lower left and right corners of the part 30. Dimension lines 42a to 42d, 42f, and 42h, each consisting of a double-headed arrow, are drawn between extension lines 41a and 41b, between 41b and 41c, between 41c and 41d, between 41d and 41e, between 41f and 41g, and between 41h and 41i, respectively. The notation "2×R5" indicates that the part 30 has two corners R with a radius of 5 mm.
[0018] In the side view 33, extension lines 41j and 41k are drawn horizontally from the lower and upper ends of the flange 30a, and extension lines 41m and 41n are drawn vertically from the left and right ends of the flange 30b. Extension lines 41o and 41p are drawn vertically from near the lower end of the flange 30a to indicate the plate thickness of the flange 30a (part 30). A dimension line 42j consisting of a double-headed arrow is drawn between the extension lines 41j and 41k. A dimension line 42m consisting of a double-headed arrow is drawn between the extension lines 41m and 41n. A dimension line 42o consisting of a double-headed arrow pointing inward is drawn between the extension lines 41o and 41p.
[0019] Numerals indicating dimensions are written near the dimension lines 42a to 42d, 42f, 42h, 42j, 42m, and 42o. Dimensional information "100" is written near the dimension line 42b between extension lines 41b and 41c, indicating that the distance between round holes 34b and 34c is 100 mm. Dimensional information "250" is written near the dimension lines 42a and 42c between extension lines 41a and 41b and between 41c and 41d, indicating that the distance between round holes 34a and 34b and between 34c and 34d is 250 mm.
[0020] However, broken lines 44a and 44b are provided between the circular holes 34a and 34b, and between the circular holes 34c and 34d. Therefore, the dimensions on the drawings between the circular holes 34a and 34b and between the circular holes 34c and 34d are not drawn 2.5 times larger than the dimensions on the drawings between the circular holes 34b and 34c. The dimensions on the drawings between the circular holes 34a and 34b and between the circular holes 34c and 34d are not proportional to the dimensions on the drawings between the circular holes 34b and 34c. Therefore, the locations between the circular holes 34a and 34b and between the circular holes 34c and 34d are non-proportional dimension locations drawn with non-proportional dimensions, and the front view 31 and the top view 32 are non-proportional dimension drawings.
[0021] The central processing unit 1 (drawing support device 101) executing the graphic data creation program 20 executes the following steps when it reads the drawing image 50 shown in Figure 4. The arrow detection unit 11 detects arrows and their directions in the drawing image 50. The line detection unit 12 detects lines in the drawing image 50. The dimension information detection unit 13 detects dimension information written in numbers in the drawing image 50. The dimension information detection unit 13 only needs to detect dimension information expressed in numbers corresponding to dimension lines that indicate the dimensions of each of multiple locations of the part 30 drawn in the drawing image 50, extracted based on the detected arrows and lines.
[0022] The symbol detection unit 14 detects symbols in the drawing image 50. In Figure 4, the circular holes 34a to 34d are not symbols, but the symbol detection unit 14 detects them as symbols. The symbol detection unit 14 also detects the "φ" in the notation "4 × φ5" as a symbol.
[0023] As described in Patent Document 1, the arrow detection unit 11, the dimension information detection unit 13, and the symbol detection unit 14 learn arrows, dimension information, and symbols based on pre-given training data for arrows, dimension information, and symbols, respectively, and thus can accurately detect arrows, dimension information, and symbols, respectively.
[0024] The editing unit 19 displays the loaded drawing image 50 on the display unit 4. FIG. 5 shows the drawing image 50 displayed on the display unit 4. The dimension line generating unit 15 generates additional dimension lines 420a to 420d, 420f, 420h, 420j, and 420m based on the extension lines 41a to 41k and 41m to 41p. The additional dimension lines 420a to 420d, 420f, 420h, 420j, and 420m are arrow lines that indicate the same range as the drawn dimension lines 42a to 42d, 42f, 42h, 42j, and 42m, respectively. The editing unit 19 displays the additional dimension lines 420a to 420d, 420h, 420j, and 420m near the dimension lines 42a to 42d, 42f, 42j, and 42m.
[0025] The non-proportional dimension determination unit 16 compares the number of pixels in the length direction (horizontal or vertical direction) of the dimension lines 42a to 42d, 42f, 42h, 42j, and 42m with the dimensional information written near the dimension lines 42a to 42d, 42f, 42h, 42j, and 42m detected by the dimensional information detection unit 13. The non-proportional dimension determination unit 16 determines that the dimension lines 42a and 42c are not the length corresponding to 250 mm written near them, and the dimension line 42h is not the length corresponding to 700 mm written near them, and is a non-proportional dimension that is not proportional to the lengths of the dimension lines 42b and 42d.
[0026] When a dimension line at one of multiple locations on part 30 is drawn at a scale different from the dimension lines at multiple other locations, non-proportional dimension determination unit 16 determines that the one of the locations is a non-proportional dimension location drawn with non-proportional dimensions, and that drawing image 50 is a non-proportional dimension drawing including a non-proportional dimension location. Non-proportional dimension determination unit 16 can determine whether a non-proportional dimension location exists based on the number of pixels of the dimension line at each location and the dimensional information written corresponding to the dimension line at each location. This method of determining whether a non-proportional dimension location exists can accurately detect a non-proportional dimension location without the need to determine whether break lines 44 a, 44 b, 44 c, and 44 d exist.
[0027] The editing unit 19 displays the additional dimension lines 420a, 420c, and 420h added to the non-proportional dimension points in red, for example, and the additional dimension lines 420b, 420d, 420f, 420j, and 420m added to the proportional dimension points in green, for example. A dashed double-arrowed line indicates red, and a solid double-arrowed line indicates green. In practice, the red double-arrowed line may be a solid line. By making the color of the additional dimension lines added to the non-proportional dimension points different from the color of the additional dimension lines added to the proportional dimension points other than the non-proportional dimension points, the operator can immediately recognize the non-proportional dimension points.
[0028] Here, it is assumed that the drawing image 50 does not display the component 30 at actual size, but the component 30 may be displayed at actual size.
[0029] 5 is displayed on the display unit 4, the operator operates the operation unit 3 to input 1 mm, which is the thickness of the component 30. In addition, although not shown, the operator inputs 1, which indicates that the thickness is 1 mm, into an input field for inputting a number as a dimension set near the dimension line 42o.
[0030] The editing unit 19 displays dimensional information such as 100, 50, 15, 40, and 15 near the additional dimension lines 420b, 420d, 420f, 420j, and 420m, respectively. The editing unit 19 sets input fields near the additional dimension lines 420a, 420c, and 420h, and displays 0 as an initial value in the input fields. The operator can use the operation unit 3 to input other numerical values into the input fields displaying 0 near the additional dimension lines 420a, 420c, and 420h. As shown in FIG. 6 , the operator inputs 250 into the input fields near the additional dimension lines 420a and 420c, and 700 into the input field near the additional dimension line 420h.
[0031] The differential dimension calculation unit 17 then calculates the differential dimension required to make the dimensions between the circular holes 34a and 34b and between the circular holes 34c and 34d equivalent to 250 mm. The differential dimension is a dimension obtained by enlarging or reducing a non-proportional dimension portion, which is drawn using non-proportional dimensions, in order to draw it at the same scale as multiple other proportional dimension portions. In this case, the differential dimension calculation unit 17 calculates the differential dimension to be 200 mm. A differential dimension of 200 mm means that if the distance between the circular holes 34a and 34b and between the circular holes 34c and 34d is extended by a distance equivalent to 200 mm, the distance between the circular holes 34a and 34b and between the circular holes 34c and 34d will become equivalent to 250 mm.
[0032] When a number is entered as a dimension in the input field, the differential dimension calculation unit 17 calculates the differential dimension corresponding to the entered number. Since the differential dimension calculation unit 17 calculates the differential dimension in response to the number being entered in the input field, the operator does not need to perform any operation other than entering the number as the dimension in the input field. The editing unit 19 adds (diff.=200) to the number 250 displayed in the input field near the additional dimension lines 420a and 420c, indicating that the differential dimension is 200 mm.
[0033] The differential dimension calculation unit 17 also calculates the dimension between extension lines 41h and 41i, i.e., the differential dimension required to make the left-right dimension of component 30 equivalent to 700 mm. In this case, the differential dimension calculation unit 17 calculates the differential dimension to be 400 mm. A differential dimension of 400 mm means that if the left-right dimension of component 30 is extended by an amount equivalent to 400 mm, the left-right dimension of component 30 will become equivalent to 700 mm. The editing unit 19 adds (diff. = 400), indicating that the differential dimension is 400 mm, to the numerical value 700 displayed in the input field near additional dimension line 420h.
[0034] In addition, the editing unit 19 displays check boxes 421a, 421c, and 421h indicating non-proportional dimensions, for example, below the additional dimension lines 420a, 420c, and 420h. When the operator operates the operation unit 3 to check the check boxes 421a, 421c, and 421h, the editing unit 19 displays differential dimensions of 200 and 400, respectively, corresponding to the 250 and 700 input by the operator. When the check boxes 421a, 421c, and 421h are checked, the editing unit 19 changes the color of the additional dimension lines 420a, 420c, and 420h from red to green.
[0035] Although FIG. 6 shows checked check boxes 421a, 421c, and 421h at the same time, the editing unit 19 erases the check boxes 421a, 421c, and 421h once they are checked.
[0036] 7, the operator uses the front view instruction command to surround the front view 31 with a rectangular area 461. When the front view 31 is surrounded with the area 461, the editing unit 19 displays dotted guide lines 450a to 450k generated by the guide line generating unit 18. In practice, the guide lines 450a to 450k may be solid lines. The guide lines 450a to 450k are lines that pass through the tips of the arrows of the additional dimension lines 420a to 420d, 420f, 420h, 420j, and 420m and are perpendicular to the additional dimension lines 420a to 420d, 420f, 420h, 420j, and 420m.
[0037] When the operator uses the front view instruction command to surround the front view 31 with a rectangular area 461, the guide lines 450m and 450n passing through the lower and upper ends of the top view 32 are not displayed. This is because the top view 32 does not have a dimension line indicating the dimension between the lower end and the upper end, and therefore no additional dimension line is displayed.
[0038] Therefore, the operator continues by performing the following operations: Using the projection view instruction command, the operator selects the projection location with an L-shaped selection line 462 connecting a horizontal line and a vertical line. As shown in Figure 7, selecting the projection location means selecting the portion of the top view 32 and the side view 33 other than the front view 31 that forms the same edge in three-dimensional space. The selection line 462 selects the lower end of the top view 32 and the left end of the flange 30a in the side view 33 as portions that form the same edge in three-dimensional space.
[0039] As a result, the guide line generating unit 18 shares the dimension line 42m drawn on the side view 33 as a dimension line in the top view 32, and recognizes the additional dimension line 420m on the side view 33 as a dimension line indicating the dimension between the lower end and the upper end on the top view 32. The guide line generating unit 18 generates guide lines 450m and 450n by recognizing the additional dimension line 420m as a dimension line indicating the dimension between the lower end and the upper end on the top view 32. The editing unit 19 displays the guide lines 450m and 450n. In this way, by the operator using the projection view instruction command, guide lines can be displayed even in places where no dimension lines are drawn on the top view 32.
[0040] As described above, the drafting support device 101 draws the additional dimension lines 420a to 420d, 420f, 420h, 420j, and 420m, the numerical values indicating the dimensions, the numerical values indicating the differential dimensions, and the guide lines 450a to 450n on the second layer different from the first layer on which the drawing image 50 exists. When the operator executes a command to transfer the data of the first and second layers to the graphic editing device 102, the drafting support device 101 transfers the data of the first and second layers to the graphic editing device 102. The graphic editing device 102 executes the following steps.
[0041] The editing unit 25 in the graphic editing device 102 displays the received first and second layer data on the display unit 4. FIG. 8 shows the first and second layer data displayed on the display unit 4. As shown in FIG. 8, the display unit 4 displays a drawing image 50, additional dimension lines 420a to 420d, 420f, 420h, 420j, and 420m, numerical values indicating the dimensions, numerical values indicating the differential dimensions, and guide lines 450a to 450n. The editing unit 25 can also erase the drawing image 50 and display only the additional dimension lines 420a to 420d, 420f, 420h, 420j, and 420m, numerical values indicating the dimensions, numerical values indicating the differential dimensions, and guide lines 450a to 450n on the display unit 4. The editing unit 25 can also erase the guide lines 450a to 450n.
[0042] When the operator uses a drawing command to perform an operation to draw the shapes of the flanges 30 a and 30 b, the drawing unit 21 draws the shapes of the flanges 30 a and 30 b in response to the operation by the operator. Specifically, the operator performs the operation to draw the shapes of the flanges 30 a and 30 b as follows.
[0043] The operator selects guide lines 450a, 450f, 450k, and 450i in any order. Then, as shown in FIG. 9 , the drawing unit 21 draws the outlines of flanges 30a and 30b in the front view 31, indicated by a thick solid line surrounded by guide lines 450a, 450f, 450g, and 450i. Furthermore, the operator uses a round hole creation command to place 5 mm diameter round holes at the positions of circular holes 34a to 34d. Then, as shown in FIG. 9 , the drawing unit 21 draws circular holes 340a to 340d at the positions of circular holes 34a to 34d. By positioning the centers of the 5 mm diameter round holes at the intersections of guide lines 450b to 450e and guide line 450j, the drawing unit 21 can accurately place circular holes 340a to 340d at the positions of circular holes 34a to 34d.
[0044] The operator also selects guide lines 450a, 450f, 450m, and 450n in any order. The drawing unit 21 then draws a rectangular shape surrounded by the guide lines 450a, 450f, 450m, and 450n. The operator uses a corner R creation command to place arcs with a radius of 5 mm at the two upper left and right corners R32R. As shown in FIG. 9 , the drawing unit 21 draws the outlines of the flanges 30a and 30b in the top view 320 indicated by thick solid lines, surrounded by the guide lines 450a, 450f, 450m, and 450n, with the upper left and right corners R320R.
[0045] In this way, the drawing unit 21 can draw the shape of the part 30 including the round holes 340a to 340d when the part 30 is viewed from the front, and the shape of the part 30 when the part 30 is viewed from above.
[0046] Here, the drawing unit 21, in accordance with manual operation by the operator, selects, from among a plurality of guide lines, guide lines that pass through the ends of the component 30 in the front view 31 and the top view 32, thereby drawing the outline of the component 30 in the front view 31 and the top view 32. The drawing unit 21 may be configured to determine the outline of the component 30 and automatically draw the outline of the component 30.
[0047] Since the front view 31 includes break lines 44a and 44b, and the top view 32 includes break lines 44c and 44d, the front view 310 and the top view 320 created by the drawing unit 21 are non-proportional dimension drawings. Therefore, the operator uses the expansion / contract command to enclose the right ends of the front view 310 and the top view 320 with a rectangular area 470R, as shown in Fig. 10, and instructs enlargement to the right. The graphic transformation unit 22 then transforms the front view 310 and the top view 320 so as to enlarge the non-proportional dimension portion between the circular holes 340c and 340d by a dimension corresponding to the difference dimension of 200 mm, as shown in Fig. 11, to generate the front view 311 and the top view 321.
[0048] Next, the operator uses the zoom command to enclose the left end portions of the front view 311 and the top view 321 with a rectangular area 470L and instructs enlargement to the left, as shown in Fig. 12. The graphic transformation unit 22 then transforms the front view 311 and the top view 321 so as to enlarge the non-proportional dimension portion between the circular holes 340a and 340b by a dimension corresponding to the difference dimension of 200 mm, as shown in Fig. 13, to generate the front view 312 and the top view 322. The front view 312 and the top view 322 are proportional dimension drawings of the flanges 30a and 30b, respectively.
[0049] The graphics transformer 22 may transform the part 30 into proportional dimension drawings by reducing non-proportional dimension portions of the outline of the part 30 in the front view 310 and the top view 320 by the differential dimensions.
[0050] In Figure 13, the operator can use the dimension confirmation command to confirm that the distance between circular holes 340a and 340b and the distance between circular holes 340c and 340d are equivalent to 250 mm, and that the distance between the left and right ends of front view 312 and top view 322 are equivalent to 700 mm.
[0051] When the operator selects the front view 312 and the top view 322 using the surface synthesis command, the surface synthesis unit 23 creates a development 350 of the part 30 by surface-synthesizing the front view 312 and the top view 322, as shown in FIG. 14 . Note that, depending on the type of drawing image, the surface synthesis process by the surface synthesis unit 23 may not be necessary. The graphic data generation unit 24 generates drawing data showing the development 350 of the part 30. Typically, the drawing data generated by the graphic data generation unit 24 consists of vector data. The drawing data showing the development 350 of the part 30 is used by a laser processing machine to cut a shape corresponding to the development 350 from a metal sheet, or by a press brake to bend a metal sheet having a shape corresponding to the development 350 to produce the part 30.
[0052] Next, the operation of the graphic data creation device 100 when creating graphic data based on a drawing image 80 with drawing number ABC0002 shown in Figure 15, which is a second example of a non-proportional dimension drawing, will be described. Descriptions common to the case when the graphic data creation device 100 creates graphic data based on the drawing image 50 shown in Figure 4 will be omitted. The drawing image 80 includes a front view 61, a top view 62, and a side view 63 of a part 60. The part 60 has flanges 60a and 60b, the flange 60a has two circular holes 64a and 64b, and the flange 60b has circular holes 64c and 64d.
[0053] In the front view 61, extension lines 71a and 71d are drawn vertically from the lower left and lower right corners of the part 60, respectively, and extension lines 71b and 71c are drawn vertically from the centers of the circular holes 64a and 64b, respectively. Extension lines 71e and 71f are drawn horizontally from the lower right and upper right corners of the part 60, respectively, and extension line 71g is drawn extending to the right of center line 73a connecting the centers of the circular holes 64a and 64b. Dimension lines 72a to 72e, each consisting of a double-headed arrow, are drawn between extension lines 71a and 71b, between 71a and 71d, between 71c and 71d, between 71e and 71f, and between 71e and 71g.
[0054] In the top view 62, extension lines 71h and 71i are drawn vertically from the left and right ends of the part 60, respectively, and extension lines 71j and 71k are drawn vertically from the centers of the circular holes 64c and 64d, respectively. An extension line 71m is drawn extending to the right of the center line 73b connecting the centers of the circular holes 64c and 64d, and an extension line 71n is drawn extending right from the top end of the part 60. A dimension line 72f consisting of a double-headed arrow is drawn between the extension lines 71h and 71i. Dimension lines 72g to 72i consisting of double-headed arrows pointing inward are drawn between the extension lines 71h and 71j, between 71k and 71i, and between 71m and 71n, respectively.
[0055] In the side view 63, extension lines 71o and 71p are drawn horizontally from the upper and lower ends of the flange 60a, and extension lines 71q and 71r are drawn vertically from the left and right ends of the flange 60b. Dimension lines 72j and 72k, each consisting of a double-headed arrow, are drawn between the extension lines 71o and 71p, and between the extension lines 71q and 71r, respectively.
[0056] Numbers indicating dimensions are written near dimension lines 72a, 72c to 72e, and 72g to 72k. Dimensional information "30" is written near dimension lines 72a, 72c, and 72d. Dimensional information "15" is written near dimension line 72e. Dimensional information "8" is written near dimension lines 72g, 72h, and 72i. Dimensional information "33" and "25" are written near dimension lines 72j and 72k, respectively.
[0057] Variables indicating dimensions are written near the dimension lines 72b and 72f. Here, the letter a is written as a variable near the dimension line 72b, and the letter b is written as a variable near the dimension line 72f. The drawing image 80 includes a variable table 81. As written in the variable table 81, for a part 60 with a product name of PART0001, the distance between extension lines 71a and 71d, i.e., the width of the flange 60a, is 600 mm, and the distance between extension lines 71h and 71i, i.e., the width of the flange 60b, is 500 mm. For a part 60 with a product name of PART0002, the widths of the flanges 60a and 60b are 700 mm and 600 mm, respectively. For a part 60 with a product name of PART0003, the widths of the flanges 60a and 60b are 800 mm and 600 mm, respectively.
[0058] In this way, drawing image 80 is a parametric drawing in which some of the dimensions of part 60 are displayed as variables using symbols other than numbers, such as alphabets, rather than numerical values, and the part is drawn in a shape that does not resemble the actual shape of part 60. Front view 61 and top view 62 are non-proportional dimension drawings. Below, the operation of graphic data creation device 100 when creating graphic data based on drawing image 80 will be described using part 60 with a product name of PART0002 as an example.
[0059] The central processing unit 1 executing the graphic data creation program 20 reads the drawing image 80 shown in Fig. 15. Then, the arrow detection unit 11 detects arrows and their directions in the drawing image 80. The line detection unit 12 detects lines in the drawing image 80. The dimensional information detection unit 13 detects dimensional information written in the drawing image 80. The symbol detection unit 14 detects round holes 64a to 64d, etc. as symbols.
[0060] The editing unit 19 displays the read drawing image 80 on the display unit 4. Fig. 16 shows the drawing image 80 displayed on the display unit 4. The dimension line generating unit 15 generates additional dimension lines 720a to 720k based on the extension lines 71a to 71r. The editing unit 19 displays the additional dimension lines 720a to 720k near the dimension lines 72a to 72k.
[0061] The non-proportional dimension determination unit 16 determines that the dimension lines 72b and 72f are non-proportional dimensions because alphabetic variables a and b are written near the dimension lines 72b and 72f instead of numerical dimensional information. The alphabetic variables a and b are detected by the symbol detection unit 14. Note that even if non-numerical symbols are written near the dimension lines 72b and 72f, the drawing image 80 may be a proportional dimension drawing depending on the values of the variables a and b set in the variable table 81. Even if the drawing image 80 may be a proportional dimension drawing depending on the values of the variables a and b, the non-proportional dimension determination unit 16 considers it to be a non-proportional dimension drawing if non-numerical symbols are written.
[0062] The editing unit 19 displays the additional dimension lines 720b and 720f, which are non-proportional dimensions, in red, for example, and the additional dimension lines 720a, 720c to 720e, and 720g to 720k, which are proportional dimensions, in green, for example. A dashed double-arrowed line indicates red, and a solid double-arrowed line indicates green. In practice, the red double-arrowed line may be a solid line.
[0063] Assume that the plate thickness of the part 60 is 1 mm. Although not shown in the drawing, with the drawing image 80 shown in Fig. 16 displayed on the display unit 4, the operator operates the operation unit 3 to input 1 mm, which is the plate thickness of the part 60. In the drawing image 80, no dimension lines indicating the plate thickness are drawn in the side view 63, so there is no need to provide an input field for plate thickness in the side view 63 and input 1, which indicates that the plate thickness is 1 mm.
[0064] The editing unit 19 displays dimension information such as 30, 30, 30, 15, 8, 33, and 25 near the additional dimension lines 720a, 720c, 720d, 720e, 720g to 720i, 720j, and 720k, respectively. The editing unit 19 sets input fields near the additional dimension lines 720b and 720f and displays 0 as an initial value in the input fields. The operator can use the operation unit 3 to input other numerical values into the input fields displaying 0 near the additional dimension lines 720b and 720f. As shown in FIG. 17 , the operator inputs 700 and 600 into the input fields near the additional dimension lines 720b and 720f, respectively.
[0065] Then, the differential dimension calculation unit 17 calculates the differential dimension required to make the dimension between extension lines 71a and 71d, which is the width of flange 60a, a dimension equivalent to 700 mm. Here, the differential dimension calculation unit 17 calculates the differential dimension to be 100 mm. Also, the differential dimension calculation unit 17 calculates the differential dimension required to make the dimension between extension lines 71h and 71i, which is the width of flange 60b, a dimension equivalent to 600 mm. Here, the differential dimension calculation unit 17 calculates the differential dimension to be 100 mm. If the differential dimension between flanges 60a and 60b is 100 mm, then extending the left-right dimension of part 60 by an amount equivalent to 100 mm will result in the left-right dimension of part 60 being equivalent to 700 mm.
[0066] When a number is input as a dimension in the input field, the differential dimension calculation unit 17 calculates the differential dimension corresponding to the input number. The editing unit 19 adds (diff.=100) to the numbers 700 and 600 displayed in the input fields near the additional dimension lines 720b and 720f, indicating that the differential dimension is 100 mm.
[0067] In addition, the editing unit 19 displays check boxes 721b and 721f indicating non-proportional dimensions, for example, below the additional dimension lines 720b and 720f. When the operator operates the operation unit 3 to check the check boxes 721b and 721f, the editing unit 19 displays differential dimensions 100 corresponding to the 700 and 600 input by the operator, respectively. When the check boxes 721b and 721f are checked, the editing unit 19 changes the color of the additional dimension lines 720b and 720f from red to green. When the check boxes are checked, the editing unit 19 erases the check boxes 721b and 721f.
[0068] It should be noted that, if the selected values of variables a and b among those set in the variable table 81 result in the drawing image 80 being a proportional dimension drawing, the differential dimension calculated by the differential dimension calculation unit 17 will be 0. In such a case, there is no non-proportional dimension location, and therefore the enlargement or reduction process by the graphic transformation unit 22, which will be described later, is not required.
[0069] 18, the operator uses the front view instruction command to surround the front view 61 with a rectangular area 761. When the front view 61 is surrounded with the area 761, the editing unit 19 displays guide lines 750a to 750k and 750m to 750p, which are shown as dotted lines and generated by the guide line generating unit 18. In practice, the guide lines 750a to 750k and 750m to 750p may be solid lines. The guide lines 750a to 750k and 750m to 750p are lines that are perpendicular to the additional dimension lines 720a to 720k, pass through the tips of the arrows of the additional dimension lines 720a to 720k, and are perpendicular to the additional dimension lines 720a to 720k.
[0070] When the operator uses the front view instruction command to surround the front view 61 with a rectangular area 761, the guide line 750q passing through the lower end of the top view 62 is not displayed. This is because the top view 62 does not have a dimension line indicating the dimension between the lower end and the upper end, and therefore no additional dimension line is displayed.
[0071] Therefore, the operator continues by performing the following operations: Using the projection view instruction command, the operator selects the projection location with an L-shaped selection line 762 connecting a horizontal line and a vertical line. As shown in Figure 18, selecting the projection location means selecting the portion of the top view 62 and the side view 63 other than the front view 61 that forms the same edge in three-dimensional space. The selection line 762 selects the lower end of the top view 62 and the left end of the flange 60a in the side view 63 as portions that form the same edge in three-dimensional space.
[0072] As a result, the guide line generating unit 18 shares the dimension line 72k drawn in the side view 63 as a dimension line in the top view 62, and recognizes the additional dimension line 720k in the side view 63 as a dimension line indicating the dimension between the lower end and the upper end in the top view 62. The guide line generating unit 18 generates a guide line 750q by recognizing the additional dimension line 720k as a dimension line indicating the dimension between the lower end and the upper end in the top view 62. The editing unit 19 displays the guide line 750q.
[0073] As described above, the drafting support device 101 draws the additional dimension lines 720a to 720k, the numerical values indicating the dimensions, the numerical values indicating the differential dimensions, and the guide lines 750a to 750k and 750m to 750q on the second layer different from the first layer on which the drawing image 80 exists. When the operator executes a command to transfer the data of the first and second layers to the graphic editing device 102, the drafting support device 101 transfers the data of the first and second layers to the graphic editing device 102.
[0074] The editing unit 25 in the graphic editing device 102 displays the received first and second layer data on the display unit 4. FIG. 19 shows the first and second layer data displayed on the display unit 4. As shown in FIG. 19, the display unit 4 displays a drawing image 80, additional dimension lines 720a to 720k, numerical values indicating the dimensions, numerical values indicating the differential dimensions, and guide lines 750a to 750k and 750m to 750q. The editing unit 25 can also erase the drawing image 80 and display only the additional dimension lines 720a to 720k, numerical values indicating the dimensions, numerical values indicating the differential dimensions, and guide lines 750a to 750k and 750m to 750q on the display unit 4. The editing unit 25 can also erase the guide lines 750a to 750k and 750m to 750q.
[0075] When the operator uses a drawing command to perform an operation to draw the shapes of the flanges 60 a and 60 b, the drawing unit 21 draws the shapes of the flanges 60 a and 60 b in response to the operation by the operator. Specifically, the operator performs the operation to draw the shapes of the flanges 60 a and 60 b as follows.
[0076] The operator selects guide lines 750a, 750c, 750f, 750g, 750j, 750m, and 750n in any order. Then, as shown in FIG. 20 , the drawing unit 21 draws the outlines of the flanges 60a and 60b in the front view 61, indicated by a thick solid line surrounded by guide lines 750a, 750c, 750f, 750g, 750k, 750m, and 750n. Furthermore, the operator uses a round hole creation command to place round holes with a diameter of 5 mm at the positions of the round holes 64a and 64b. Then, as shown in FIG. 20 , the drawing unit 21 draws round holes 640a and 640b at the positions of the round holes 64a and 64b.
[0077] The operator also selects guide lines 750c, 750f, 750p, and 750q in any order. The drawing unit 21 then draws a rectangular shape surrounded by guide lines 750c, 750f, 750p, and 750q. The operator uses a corner R creation command to place arcs with a radius of 5 mm at the two upper left and right corners R62R. Furthermore, the operator uses a round hole creation command to place round holes with a diameter of 5 mm at the positions of round holes 64c and 64d.
[0078] As shown in FIG. 20, the drawing unit 21 draws the outline of the flanges 60a and 60b in a top view 620 shown by thick solid lines, which is surrounded by guide lines 750c, 750f, 750p, and 750q, has two corners R620R on the upper left and right, and has round holes 640c and 640d positioned at the positions of the round holes 64c and 64d.
[0079] In this way, the drawing unit 21 can draw the shape of the part 60 including the round holes 640a and 640b when the part 60 is viewed from the front, and the shape of the part 60 when the part 60 is viewed from above.
[0080] Since the differential dimension displayed in the input field near the additional dimension lines 720b and 720f is 100 mm, the front view 610 and top view 620 created by the drawing unit 21 are non-proportional dimension drawings. Therefore, the operator uses the zoom command to enclose, for example, the right end portions of the front view 610 and top view 620 with a rectangular area 770, as shown in FIG. 21 , and instructs enlargement to the right. The graphic transformation unit 22 then transforms the front view 610 and top view 620 so as to enlarge them by a dimension corresponding to the differential dimension of 100 mm, to generate the front view 611 and top view 621, as shown in FIG. 22 . The front view 611 and top view 621 are proportional dimension drawings of the flanges 60a and 60b, respectively.
[0081] The graphics transformer 22 may transform the part 60 into proportional dimension drawings by reducing non-proportional dimension portions of the outline of the part 60 in the front view 610 and the top view 620 by the differential dimensions.
[0082] In FIG. 22, the operator may use the dimension confirmation command to confirm whether the distances between the left and right ends of the flanges 60a and 60b are equivalent to 700 mm and 600 mm, respectively.
[0083] When the operator selects the front view 611 and the top view 621 using the surface synthesis command, the surface synthesis unit 23 creates a development 650 of the part 60 by surface-synthesizing the front view 611 and the top view 621, as shown in Fig. 23. The graphic data generation unit 24 generates drawing data made up of vector data that shows the development 650 of the part 60. The drawing data that shows the development 650 of the part 60 is used by a laser processing machine to cut a shape corresponding to the development 650 from a metal sheet, or by a press brake to bend a metal sheet having a shape corresponding to the development 650 to produce the part 60.
[0084] As described above, drawing data can be created based on non-proportional dimension drawings using the graphic data creation device 100, the graphic data creation method executed by the graphic data creation device 100 (computer equipment), and the graphic data creation program 20 stored in the non-transitory storage medium 2 and executed by the central processing unit 1. The graphic data creation device 100, the graphic data creation method, and the graphic data creation program 20 can create drawing data even if it is an abbreviated drawing in which break lines are inserted in parts of components, or even if it is a parametric drawing in which some of the dimensions of components are displayed as variables using symbols rather than numerical values indicating the dimensions.
[0085] The present invention is not limited to one or more of the above-described embodiments and can be modified in various ways without departing from the spirit and scope of the present invention. In one or more of the above-described embodiments, drawing image 50 including a front view 31, a top view 32, and a side view 33 of part 30 and drawing image 80 including a front view 61, a top view 62, and a side view 63 of part 60 are used as examples of drawing images. However, drawing images are not limited to drawing images including a front view, a top view, and a side view of a part. Drawing images may also include at least one projection view. Drawing images may also be drawing images of product commercial drawings, architectural floor plans or elevation drawings, foundation drawings, roof drawings, electrical drawings, and cutting drawings.
