Description
[0001] EAR PLUG GEOMETRY
[0002] TECHNICAL FIELD
[0003] The invention relates to an ear plug configured to provide isolation by sealing the entrance to the ear canal, comprising at least one longitudinal body extending into the ear canal and at least one outer layer outside the ear canal.
[0004] PRIOR ART
[0005] Ear plugs are part of personal protective equipment used in a variety of situations. They are often used to reduce noise, prevent water from entering the ear, or block out external sounds during sleep. Ear plugs, which are made of various materials, are small devices that can be easily inserted and removed from the ear canal. They are designed in different shapes, sizes, and materials according to the purpose of use and personal preferences. Ear plugs are particularly important for maintaining hearing health in noisy environments and are often used by workers on construction sites, at music concerts, and in factories.
[0006] The effectiveness of ear plugs is highly dependent on the material used, as well as their physical properties, such as shape and size. Materials such as silicone are preferred for providing sound insulation since they are both flexible and durable. Such plugs are produced in various geometric forms and sizes to adapt to the natural contour of the ear canal. Since people's ear structures are different from each other, efforts are made to reach the optimum sizing that can adapt to a wide range of users. However, the plugs known in the present art fall short of meeting the requirements in terms of insulation due to their geometric dimensions.
[0007] As a result, all the above-mentioned problems have made it imperative to make an innovation in the relevant technical field.

[0023] DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION In this detailed description, the subject of the invention is explained by way of example only for a better understanding of the subject, which shall not create any limiting effect.
[0024] Fig. 1 shows a representative isometric view of the inventive ear plug (10) and figs. 2 and 3 show a representative side view of said ear plug (10). The ear plug (10) is configured to provide sound or fluid isolation for the ear canal by at least partially closing the ear canal of the person. To achieve this, the ear plug (10) comprises at least one longitudinal body (20) extending into the ear canal and at least one outer layer (30) outside the ear canal. Said longitudinal body (20) fills the ear canal, said the outer layer (30) covers the entrance to the ear canal. Accordingly, the outer layer (30) is configured with a larger surface area than the longitudinal body (20). In a possible embodiment, there is a peak (24) provided on the part of the outer layer (30) facing in the opposite direction of the longitudinal body (20). Said (24) is a curved form formed in the opposite direction of the ear.
[0025] The longitudinal body (20) has a circular cross-section. In other words, the longitudinal body (20) is cylindrical in form. On the longitudinal body (20) there is a first step (21), a second step (22) and a third step (23), each protruding outward from the longitudinal body (20). In other words, said first step (21 ), said second step (22), and said third step (23) each have a larger diameter than the longitudinal body (20). The first step (21 ) is farthest step from the outer layer (30), while the third step (23) is closest step to the outer layer (30), i.e., closest to the entrance of the ear canal. The second step (22) is positioned between the first step (21) and the third step (23).
[0026] The first step (21), the second step (22), and the third step (23) are arranged on the longitudinal body (20) with predetermined distances in between. Accordingly, there is a first distance (a2) between the first step (21) and the second step (22). Said first distance (a2) is essentially the distance between the face of the first step (21 ) facing the second step (22) and the face of the second step (22) facing the first step (21).
[0027] There is a second distance (b2) between the second step (22) and the third step (23). Said second distance (b2) is the distance between the face of the second step (22) facing the third step (23) and the face of the third step (23) facing the second step (22). There is a third distance (c2) between the third step (23) and the outer layer (30). Said third distance (c2) is the distance between the face of the third step (23) facing the outer layer (30) and the face of the outer layer (30) facing the third step (23).
[0028] There is a radius form (R) each between each of the first step (21), second step (22), and third step (23) and the longitudinal body (20). A radius axis (I), assumed to pass through the farthest points of the radius forms (R) from the cylindrical longitudinal body (20), runs parallel to the longitudinal body (20).
[0029] Said first step (21) has a first length (a1) measurement. Said first length (a1) measurement is the vertical distance between the radius axis (I) and the farthest point of the first step (21) from the longitudinal body (20). The second step (22) has a second length (b1 ) measurement. Said second length (b1) measurement is the vertical distance between the radius axis (I) and the farthest point of the second step (22) from the longitudinal body (20). Said third step (23) has a third length (c1) measurement. Said third length (c1) measurement is the vertical distance between the radius axis (I) and the farthest point of the third step (23) from the longitudinal body (20).
[0030] The outer layer (30) is formed to have a short surface (31) and a long surface (32). Accordingly, the outer layer (30) has an approximately elliptical shape. The point where the longitudinal body (20) is located on the outer layer (30) is formed by said short surface (31) and said long surface (32). The short surface (31) has a fourth length (d1) measurement, while the long surface (32) has a fifth length (e1) measurement. The fourth length (d1) is the measurement of the length between the radius axis (I) and the farthest point of the short surface (31) from the longitudinal body (20). The fifth length (e1 ) is the measurement of the length between the radius axis (I) and the farthest point of the long surface (32) from the longitudinal body (20).
[0031] The inventive ear plugs (10) are configured to have certain proportions between said dimensions in order to provide an optimum level of insulation. Accordingly;
[0032] The first length (a1) is at least 1 .5 mm and at most 3 mm.
[0033] The first distance (a2) is at least 1.1 times and at most 1 .2 times the first length (a1 ).
[0034] The second distance (b2) is at least 1 .1 times and at most 1 .2 times the second length (b1 ). The third distance (c2) is at least 1.1 times and at most 1.2 times the third length (c1).
[0035] The fourth length (d1 ) is at least 1 .3 times and at most 1 .5 times the third length (c1 ).
[0036] The fifth length (e1) is at least 2 times and at most 2.2 times the third length (c1).
[0037] The third length (c1) is equal to at least 1.5 times and at most 1.7 times the first length (a1 ). Also, the third length (c1) is equal to at least 1.3 times and at most 1.5 times the second length (b1).
[0038] The ear plug (10) structure introduced with all these dimensions and proportions provides optimum sound and liquid insulation.
[0039] The scope of protection of the invention is specified in the appended claims and cannot be limited to what is described for illustrative purposes in this detailed description. It is clear that a person skilled in the art can produce similar embodiments in the light of what is explained above, without deviating from the main theme of the invention.
