Electronic unit and vehicle lighting fixture
[0001] The present invention relates to an electronic unit that controls the lighting of, for example, a vehicle lamp.
[0002] Conventionally, electronic units have been devised that include a circuit board mounted thereon for controlling various functions of an automobile, such as a circuit board on which electronic components are mounted, a connector provided at an end of the circuit board, and a housing that houses the circuit board (see Patent Document 1).

[0004] In the case of the electronic unit described above, twisting can occur when inserting or removing a mating external connector into a connector on the circuit board. If this twisting causes distortion of the circuit board via the connector, it can cause failure of the mounted electronic components.
[0005] The present invention has been made in consideration of these circumstances, and one of its exemplary purposes is to provide a new technology that reduces problems that may occur when connecting a mating external connector to a connector of an electronic unit.
[0006] In order to solve the above problems, one aspect of the present invention provides an electronic unit comprising: a substrate on which electronic components are mounted, a connector mounted on an edge of the substrate, a first housing for mounting the substrate, and a second housing that, when combined with the first housing, forms an opening through which the connector is exposed. The first housing has a first bent portion formed on the edge that forms the opening and that bends toward the connector.

The vehicle lamp 10 shown in Fig. 1 is a device for providing exterior illumination to a vehicle. The vehicle lamp 10 is, for example, a headlamp. The vehicle lamp 10 includes a housing 12, a light source unit 14, and an electronic unit 16.
[0019] The housing 12 is a component that forms the enclosure of the vehicle lamp 10. The housing 12 holds the light source unit 14 and the electronic unit 16. For example, the housing 12 has a lamp body 18 and a front cover 20, and the lamp body 18 forms a lamp chamber that houses the light source unit 14.
[0020] The light source unit 14 is a unit that emits light. The light source unit 14 has a light source 22 that emits light that illuminates the area ahead of the vehicle. The electronic unit 16 is electrically connected to the light source unit 14 via a lamp-side harness HA. The electronic unit 16 is also electrically connected to an external power source and a vehicle ECU via a vehicle-side harness HB.

Therefore, a waterproof structure for the electronic unit 16 can be achieved with a simple configuration. Specifically, the connector housing 36a according to this embodiment is a cylindrical component, and a waterproof gasket 42 serving as a cylindrical sealing member for sealing the opening 18a of the lamp body 18 is fixed to the outer periphery. As a result, a waterproof structure can be achieved by attaching the first connector 36 to the opening 18a of the lamp body 18. Furthermore, even if the electronic unit 16 is disposed inside the lamp body 18, by directly connecting the first connector 36 and the vehicle-side harness HB, a cord that is connected to the first connector 36, drawn to the outside of the lamp housing, and then connected to the vehicle-side harness HB is not required.

Claims
1. An electronic unit comprising: a substrate on which electronic components are mounted; a connector mounted on the edge of said substrate; a first housing for mounting said substrate; and a second housing which, when combined with said first housing, forms an opening through which said connector is exposed, wherein said first housing has a first bent portion formed on the edge that forms said opening, said first bent portion being bent towards said connector.
2. The electronic unit according to claim 1, wherein the first housing is made by bending a metal plate.
3. The electronic unit according to claim 2, wherein the second housing has a second bent portion formed on the edge that forms the opening, the second bent portion being bent toward the connector.
4. The electronic unit according to claim 3, wherein the first bent portion and the second bent portion face each other with the connector interposed therebetween.
5. A vehicle lamp comprising: a light source that illuminates the area ahead of the vehicle; a lamp body that forms a lamp chamber that houses the light source; and an electronic unit according to any one of claims 1 to 4 that is fixed inside the lamp body, wherein the connector is connected to a harness that connects to the light source.
