AI Technical Summary
The existing mounting boxes require a special tool for assembling the lid and body, making the process time-consuming and inefficient.
The clamps are redesigned as latches with a through incomplete longitudinal cut, a protrusion, and a channel in the box body, allowing for quick assembly by visual alignment of the protrusion with the channel without the need for tools.
The redesign significantly reduces assembly time by enabling tool-free assembly and disassembly of the lid and housing through visual alignment and engagement of the protrusion with the channel.

Abstract
Description
[0001] MOUNTING BOX
[0002] The proposed technical solution relates to devices for laying electrical cables and wires indoors, specifically to surface-mounted junction boxes or soldered boxes. The box is designed for branching wires and cables, concealing and providing additional protection for wiring connections.
[0003] The prototype of the proposed technical solution is a mounting box (Russian Federation patent for utility model No. 212439 "MOUNTING BOX", published on July 21, 2022, Bulletin No. 21)
[0004] The device comprises a housing with a base and side walls with openings, a lid, and clamps. To assemble the lid and housing, place the lid against the housing and rotate each clamp around its axis using a special tool (a flat-blade screwdriver).
[0005] The disadvantage of the prototype is the long time required to assemble the cover and the body together.
[0006] The disadvantage of the prototype is that before connecting the cover to the body, it is necessary to use a special tool (a slotted screwdriver) to rotate the clamps, setting them to the “Open” position, and after installing the cover on the body, again use a special tool to turn each clamp around the axis “blindly” to set it to the “Closed” position.
[0007] The technical result of the proposed technical solution is a reduction in the time required to assemble the cover and the body together.
[0008] The essence of the proposed technical solution is that in a mounting box for surface mounting, comprising a housing having a base and side walls with openings, a cover equipped with clamps, the clamps are made in the form of a latch, which is a head with a rod, in which a through incomplete longitudinal cut is made, dividing the rod into two parts, and only one part of the rod is connected with the head, on the outer surface of the other part of the rod a protrusion is made in the form of a wedge, on one of the end sides of which a cut is made from the outer surface of the rod to the tip of the protrusion, in the body of the box for each of the rods of the clamps a channel is made with a radius, the value of which is greater than the value of the radius of the rod, but less than the value of the distance from the axis of the rod to the tip of the protrusion, and on the surface of each channel at a depth corresponding to the location of the protrusion on the rod in the assembled box an opening of a rectangular shape is made, the linear dimensions of which exceed the corresponding linear dimensions of the protrusion on the rod.,
[0009] The distinctive features of the proposed technical solution are:
[0010] 1. The production of fasteners in the form of a latch, which is a rod with a head, while a through, incomplete longitudinal cut is made in the rod, dividing the rod into two parts - feature 1.
[0011] 2. Only one part of the rod is connected to the head - feature 2.
[0012] 3. On the outer surface of the part of the rod not connected to the head, a protrusion in the form of a wedge is made - feature 3
[0013] 4. On one of the end faces of the projection, a cut is made from the outer surface of the rod to the tip of the projection - feature 4
[0014] 5. In the body of the box, for each of the clamp rods, a channel is made with a radius, the value of which is greater than the value of the radius of the rod, but less than the value of the distance from the axis of the rod to the tip of the protrusion - feature 5.
[0015] 6. On the surface of each channel, at a depth corresponding to the location of the protrusion on the rod in the assembled box, a rectangular hole is made, the linear dimensions of which exceed the corresponding linear dimensions of the protrusion on the rod - feature 6.
[0016] The essence of the proposed technical solution is as follows: The implementation of the locks in the form of a latch, which is a rod with a head, while in the rod there is a through incomplete longitudinal cut dividing the rod into two parts (feature 1) under the condition that only one part of the rod is connected with the head (feature 2), on the outer surface of the other part there is a projection in the form of a wedge (feature 3), on one of the end sides of the projection there is a cut from the outer surface of the rod to the tip of the projection (feature 4), and in the body of the box for each of the rods of the locks there is a channel with a radius, the value of which is greater than the value of the radius of the rod, but less than the value of the distance from the axis of the rod to the tip of the projection (feature 5), and on the surface of each channel at a depth corresponding to the location of the projection on the rod in the assembled box there is a hole of a rectangular shape,The linear dimensions of which exceed the corresponding linear dimensions of the protrusion on the rod (feature 6) allows for a reduction in the assembly time of the lid and the housing, since for assembly it is sufficient to attach the lid to the housing, visually orienting each fastener so that the protrusion on the fastener rod is on the side of the channel in the housing where the hole is located, and then place the fastener rods into the corresponding holes in the housing until the protrusions on the fastener rod enter the holes in the channel wall (until they click). The protrusions on the fastener rod enter the holes made in the channel wall and secure the lid relative to the housing. To separate the lid from the housing, it is necessary to rotate the fasteners around the axis. In this case, a cut on one of the end faces, due to the spring properties of the rod, allows the protrusion to be recessed into the channel and this protrusion to exit the hole. The lid can then be separated from the housing. The fasteners are made in the form of a latch,A rod with a head, wherein the rod has a partial longitudinal cut through it, dividing the rod into two parts. The head, however, only connects one part of the rod, imparting springy properties to the rod. These springy properties ensure that the protrusion fits within the opening when the rods are inserted into the housing channels and allow the rods to be removed when removing the cover and separating it from the housing.
[0017] The figures presented show the proposed mounting box assembled (Fig. 1 / 4), disassembled (Fig. 2 / 4), and in section (Fig. 3 / 4). Fig. 4 / 4 shows the clamp rod. The box includes a body (1) having a base and walls in which openings are made for laying the mounted wires, a cover (2) and clamps consisting of a head (3) and a rod (4). On the cover (2) there are openings for accommodating the heads (3) of the clamps. In each rod, on the side of the head, a through incomplete longitudinal cut (5) is made, dividing the rod into two parts. The rod is connected to the head by only one part. On the part of the rod not connected to the head, a protrusion (6) in the form of a wedge is made. On one of the sides of the protrusion a cut (7) is made. The cut is made from the outer surface of the rod to the tip of the protrusion. The box body has channels (8) for accommodating the retainer rods when assembling the cover with the body. The channels are formed with a radius greater than the radius of the clamp rod but less than the distance from the rod axis to the tip of the projection. A rectangular opening (9) is formed on the surface of each channel (8) with linear dimensions greater than the corresponding linear dimensions of the projection on the rod, i.e., longer than the width of the projection (6) on the rod and wider than the height of this projection.
[0018] The proposed mounting box is used as follows. The cables to be installed are fed into the box and connected to each other. To close the box, the lid is connected to the housing, aligning the openings in the lid with the channels in the housing. The clamps, visually oriented by the projections on the rods toward the opening in the corresponding channel, are inserted into the openings in the lid and into the channels until the projection on each rod engages the edge of the opening in the side wall of the channel, accompanied by a click. To separate the lid from the housing, rotate the clamps around their axis. When rotated, a cut on one side of the projection allows the projection on the rod to be recessed into the channel, and the clamp no longer holds the lid relative to the housing.
