The ITU-T produced H.261 and H.263, ISO / IEC produced Moving Picture Experts Group (MPEG)-1 and MPEG-4 Visual, and the two organizations jointly produced the H.262 / MPEG-2 Video and H.264 / MPEG-4 Advanced Video Coding (AVC) [2] and H.265 / HEVC [3] standards. Since H.262, the video coding standards are based on the hybrid video coding structure wherein temporal prediction plus transform coding are utilized. To explore the future video coding technologies beyond HEVC, the Joint Video Exploration Team (JVET) was founded by video coding experts group (VCEG) and MPEG jointly. A method for processing media data, comprising: performing a conversion between a visual media data and a bitstream of the visual media data based on coding- independent code points (CICP) according to a rule, wherein the rule specifies that a video or an image of the visual media data shall be in the 4:4:4 chroma format when luma chrominance green chrominance orange representation (YCgCo-R) even bit depth (YCgCo-Re) or YCgCo- R odd bit depth (YCgCo-Ro) is used in CICP.

The method of claim 1, wherein the rule further specifies that when YCgCo is used in CICP, either a) at least one of Cb and Cr components, or b) at least two of Y, Cb, and Cr components are calculated according to: Round’( x ) = Sign( x ) * Ceil( x ), wherein x is the component being calculated, wherein Sign( x ) is a sign of x, and wherein Ceil( x ) is a smallest integer greater than or equal to x.

The method of claim 1, wherein the rule further specifies that when YCgCo is used in CICP, either a) at least one of Cb and Cr components, or b) at least two of Y, Cb, and Cr components are calculated according to: Round’( x ) = Ceil( x – 0.5 ), wherein x is the component being calculated, and wherein Ceil( x – 0.5 ) is a smallest integer greater than or equal to x – 0.
