Abstract

The invention relates to a method for validating a signature (Sig) of at least one signing instance (SI) for a system (Sys) for which the signature (Sig) is intended, wherein the signing instance (SI) is furnished with an asymmetric key pair (SIPub, SIPriv) for creating the signature (Sig) of data (Dat) to be signed. The invention is characterized in that at least one checking instance (PI, BPI, FPI) is established and is furnished with all the necessary means needed to check signatures (Sig) generated by the at least one signing instance (SI), wherein, in order to carry out the check, the signature (Sig) to be checked is transmitted, together with the signed data (Dat), from the system (Sys) for which the signature (Sig) is intended to the checking instance (PI, BPI, FPI), following which the checking instance (PI, BPI, FPI) carries out the check of the signature (Sig), and following which the result (Erg) of the check is transmitted to the requesting system (Sys).
