Description

[0001] HYBRID CONTROL PANEL FOR AN OPERATING TABLE

[0002] TECHNICAL.. FIELD

[0003] The present invention relates to a hybrid control panel for an operating table, which comprises a microprocessor table control system in a controller for controlling the actuator control elements.

[0004] BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0005] In the literature, operating tables refer to tables designed to ensure patient comfort during surgical procedures and to support, surgical equipment enhancing the functionality of the surgeon as the user in an organized manner . Also in the literature, operating tables have various ergonomic features, allowing them to be adjusted to suit different surgical procedures, and generally include adjustable parts which can change the position of the patient. In addition, operating tables facilitate sterilization and can easily be positioned by the surgical team. For positioning the operating table, a hand or foot control is used. Here, in order to ensure patient safety and the operational safety of the operating table during positioning, the operating table is checked in various angular and bending conditions by a microprocessor unit and its movements are restricted, accordingly. In addition, since the movement of the operating table is performed by a microprocessor unit through an electro-hydraulic system, the table may lose its functionality in the event of an electronic board failure. If the operating table loses its functionality due to an electronic board failure during a surgical operation, it may threaten the patient’s safety. To avoid similar situations, emergency panels are placed on the column or chassis of operating tables, allowing movements to be performed even in the event of electronic board failures by directly opening and closing the solenoid valves via buttons on these panels. However, this must be carried out in a controlled manner. Because directly opening and closing the valves to provide movement may threaten the safety of both the patient and the operating table and cause collisions with the operating table’s parts and entrapment hazards for both the patient and the surgical team. The emergency control panel located at a point directly accessible to the user on the operating table may be used in scenarios outside of emergency situations, when the hand control is difficult to reach or the hand control is missing, or due to direct usage by the user. In this case, emergency use is carried out with the normal use scenario and accidents that could threaten patient safety may still occur.

[0006] It is known in the state of the art to control the operating table through a panel. In this regard, the invention numbered DE19929907 relates to a controller which enables better control of the movement of a couch, particularly an operating table. The said invention provides a controller for reclining support, of an operating table, which comprises control electronics with a microcontroller with at least one associated driver stage for controlling the drive, a control panel and a memory for storing programs and data. Here, table control is provided with the control panel on the operating table. The said invention also provides a recording unit for storing data. However, a dual sy stem control where both the normal use of the operating table and the use of the said table in the event of security vulnerability corresponding to the technical problem occurring on the operating table cannot be performed by providing a hybrid structure with control panel. Furthermore, a manually activated emergency switch for enabling manual use of the operating table in the event of a security vulnerability of the operating table and an emergency control system in the controller for enabling manual use of the operating table by being activated via the swatch are not provided. Here, an emergency active indicator, which operates according to the warning from the emergency system, and which indicates an emergency alert to inform the user about the security vulnerability of the operating table, is not provided. In conclusion, all the above-mentioned problems have made it necessary to make a novelty in the state of the art.

[0007] OBJECTIVE OF THE INVENTION

[0008] In order to eliminate the above-mentioned disadvantages and introduce new advantages to the technical field, the present invention relates to a hybrid control panel for an operating table.

[0009] An objective of the present invention relates to a hybrid control panel for an operating table, which allows the control elements to be directly controlled and the operating table to be given the desired positions through the same controller, allowing the operating table to be positioned as desired in case of emergency in the event of security vulnerability of the operating table, and which ensures patient, surgical team, and table security when emergency intervention is required.

[0010] Another objective of the present invention is to realize a hybrid control panel for an operating table which enables safe positioning of the operating table with the collision warnings and restrictions switched on by means of a. microprocessor table control system, when the control is missing or difficult to reach for normal use, or when controlling the operating table from the body due to user habits.

[0011] SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0012] In order to realize all the above-mentioned objectives which will be clear from the following detailed description, the present invention is a hybrid control panel for an operating table which comprises a microprocessor table control system in a controller, wherein a plurality of actuator control elements are controlled according to a movement command entered from the keypad in a first condition of an operating table. Accordingly, the novelty of the invention is that it comprises an emergency switch which is manually activated in a second condition with security vulnerability of the operating table, and an emergency control sy stem in the controller, which is switched on by the activation of the emergency switch to the closed position, electrically connected to the control elements, and consists of electro-mechanical components. Thus, in the second condition with security vulnerability of the operating table, the emergency control system ensures that the said control elements can be controlled manually. Here, security' vulnerability conditions refer to conditions corresponding to a technical problem occurring on the operating table or a failure to control the movement of the operating table.

[0013] A possible embodiment of the invention is characterized in that it comprises an emergency active indicator which is electrically connected to the hybrid control panel and set to provide audible or visual alert. Thus, in the second condition corresponding to the emergency of security vulnerability of the operating table, the emergency control system is activated and an audible or visual warning alert corresponding to the emergency is provided.

[0014] A possible embodiment of the invention is characterized in that the control elements are at least one group of actuator elements among valves, pistons, motors, and solenoids. Thus, the movements of the operating table for safe positioning are achieved. Here, the safe positioning refers to positioning of the operating table as desired by the healthcare professional in accordance with the emergency intervention.

[0015] A possible embodiment of the invention is characterized in that the emergency switch is in at least one form among a rotary, push / pull button, and key-operated lock type. Thus, in the event of a security vulnerability on the operating table with the emergency switch positioned in a remote location out of the patient’s reach, the healthcare professional can switch on the emergency control system by activating the emergency switch in at least one of the said forms. A possible embodiment of the invention is characterized in that it comprises a recording unit located in the controller. Thus, in the second condition, the emergency duration is logged, and the corresponding data is stored. The data stored therein is technical service data.

[0016] A possible embodiment of the invention is characterized in that the emergency switch is electrically connected to an AC or DC power supply. Thus, the necessary' electrical flow is provided for the emergency switch to be operable.

[0017] A possible embodiment of the invention is characterized in that the keypad is in the form of a keyboard on the hybrid control panel. Thus, in the first condition of the operating table in normal use without malfunction, safe positioning is ensured by manual entry from the operating table.

[0018] BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

[0020] Figure 2 is a schematic illustration of the hybrid control panel for an operating table of the present invention.

[0021] DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

[0022] In this detailed description, a hybrid control panel for an operating table of the present invention is described by way of example only for a better understanding of the subject matter and without any limiting effect.

[0023] Figure 1 schematically shows the panel connections related to the hybrid control panel for an operating table of the present invention and Figure 2 schematically shows the hybrid control panel for an operating table of the present invention. A hybrid control panel (10) for an operating table is equipped with a keypad (11) for safe positioning of the operating table by manual entry’, which is provided in the form of a keyboard visible through a free wall on the said panel. The hybrid control panel (10) for an operating table is also provided with a controller (16) as shown in Figure I and Figure 2 as a unit for controlling the movements of the table. A microprocessor table control system (18) is provided in the controller (16). Here, the table control system (18) refers to a system in which a plurality of actuator control elements (14) are controlled according to a movement command entered from the keypad (11) on the said panel by means of the safe positioning, in a first condition (12) corresponding to the normal use of the operating table without a technical problem (without malfunction), i.e., without safety' problems, when the control is missing or difficult to reach, or when it is desired to control the operating table from the body due to user habits. Here, the safe positioning refers to the positioning which is provided for the operating table by means of the microprocessor table control system with the collision warnings and restrictions switched on, in the first condition (12), i.e., when the control is missing or difficult to reach for normal use, or when controlling the operating table from the body due to user habits. In other words, the safe positioning refers to positioning of the operating table as desired by the healthcare professional in accordance with the emergency intervention. The adjustments, which correspond to the collision warnings and restrictions, associated with the safe positioning of the operating table for professional use to ensure patient safety are predefined in the table control system (18). Furthermore, the control elements (14) according to present invention are at least one group of actuating elements among valves, pistons, motors, and solenoids. In this way, the movements of the operating table are enabled for safe positioning.

[0024] A hybrid control panel (10) for an operating table of the present invention is provided with an emergency switch (24), which is electrically connected to the said table control system (18) to include a switching that is normally in the closed position in the first condition (12) and which is in an inactive state as it is not manually activated in the said first condition (12). The emergency switch (24) refers to the manually activated switch in a second condition (20) with security vulnerability of the operating table. The security vulnerability condition refers to the condition corresponding to a technical problem occurring on the operating table or a failure to control the movement of the operating table. The hybrid control panel (10) of the present invention is provided with an emergency control system (26) in the controller (16), which is switched on by the activation of the emergency switch (24) to the closed position. Here, when the switch (24) is switched to an active position, it switches from the normally closed position, in which electrical transmission is provided to the table control system (18) in the passive position, to the open position against the table control system (18) so that no electrical flow' is provided. The emergency control system (26) in the present invention is electrically connected to the control elements (14) and consists of electro-mechanic components. Here, the emergency control system (26) refers to the system, which is activated by the said switch (24), enabling the manual control of the control elements (14) in the second condition (20) with security vulnerability of the operating table. Thus, it is ensured that the operating table can be positioned as desired in emergency by direct control of the control elements (e.g. valves) through the same controller in the event of security vulnerability of the operating table and adjustment of the operating table to desired positions, and when emergency intervention is required, the patient, surgical team, and table security can be ensured. In the present invention, the said emergency switch (24), which enables the emergency control system (26) to be manually activated, is in at least one form among a rotary, push / pull button, and key-operated lock type. Here, the emergency switch (24) is positioned in a remote location out of the patient’s reach and the healthcare professional can switch on the emergency control system (26) in the second condition (20) by the activation of the emergency switch (24) in at least one of the said forms. In addition, emergency switch (24) is powered by an AC or DC power supply (22). As shown in Figure 1, the emergency control system (26) in the present invention is connected to table control system (18) in such a way as to provide mutual electrical signal transmission. In this way, when the emergency control system (26) is in the second condition (20), the information from the table control system (18) that it is in an inactive state is recorded in a recording unit (30) located in the controller. In other words, the recording unit (30) herein refers to a unit in which the emergency duration is logged in the second condition (20) and the corresponding data is stored. The logged data is also technical service data. Thus, in response to the security vulnerability problem of the operating table, data which can be accessed by the technical service to eliminate the malfunction is obtained. In the present invention, as shown in Figure 1, there is also an emergency active indicator (28), which is electrically connected to the hybrid control panel (10) and provided in a peripherally visible form. Here, the emergency active indicator (28) is set to provide audible or visual alert. Thus, when the emergency control system (26) is activated in the second condition (20), an audible or visual alert corresponding to the emergency is provided. Furthermore, the emergency active indicator (28) can be mounted on the hybrid control panel (10) and / or on the emergency switch (24) and / or on any other part of the operating table.
