Abstract

The present invention relates to a device for protecting against stains for any type of food takeaway container, consisting of a laminar body with an inner opening having dimensions that are smaller than or equal to the dimensions of the container mouth, the inner opening of the protective device defining a space in which the container fits. Thus, the laminar body of the protective device creates a perimeter lip around the container mouth that protects against food splashes or spills during consumption of the product held in the container and, in turn, provides a visible base suitable for including advertising or the brand logo of the product being consumed.

[0003] The present invention relates to a device specifically designed to provide a protective element against spills of takeaway food, preventing the consumer of the food in the container from getting stained. It also provides a highly visible base suitable for displaying advertising or the brand image of the product being consumed.

[0004] The object of the invention is to provide a device that protects against possible splashes or spills of food, ice cream or liquids, and that is economical and easy to implement.

[0005] BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0006] In the practical application of the invention, there are numerous forms and types of takeaway food containers.

[0007] However, these types of meals are usually associated with eating in conditions where haste and / or comfort usually prevail, so their consumption takes place in conditions very favorable for the user to get dirty, since on many occasions they are not consumed on a table with its corresponding tablecloth, but outside a dining room, either standing, leaning on any place, or on a sofa, significantly increasing the chances of getting dirty with the food during its consumption due to not having adequate means and body position.

[0008] DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

[0009] The proposed stain-resistant device for takeaway food containers and similar items fully and satisfactorily resolves the aforementioned problem through a simple yet effective solution. Specifically, the device consists of a laminar body with an annular configuration and an internal opening. The dimensions of this opening are determined by the outer perimeter of the container's opening, and the laminar body is inserted by placing the container over it.

[0010] Thus, the invention is intended for any type of takeaway food container that has a stackable configuration, for which said container may have a progressively increasing section towards its opening, an opening that will fit with the internal opening of the protective device of the invention.

[0011] Consequently, and although the device will preferably have an internal opening of circular configuration, since most food containers of this type are truncated-conical, said opening could also be quadrangular or rectangular, according to stackable containers that have truncated-pyramidal configurations with a quadrangular or rectangular base, without this affecting the essence of the invention.

[0012] The sheet will preferably be made of paper or cardboard, and can be decorated or printed with the image of the brand or product being consumed, or with advertising information, which would make its implementation even more economical.

[0013] However, it has been optionally provided that the device can be made of another compostable material or even an edible product.

[0014] As for the profile or outer edge of the device, it does not have to copy the configuration of the internal hole, and can adopt whimsical trajectories according to different design lines, from the simplest, circular, to other configurations such as warped in the shape of a flower, star, etc.

[0015] This design creates a rim or perimeter lip around the opening of the takeaway food container, protecting it from splashes or spills during consumption. This component is recyclable, making it environmentally friendly. The rim also enhances the container's capacity by providing a surface for adding toppings to the food, ice cream, or liquid inside.

[0024] In view of the figures described, it can be observed how the device of the invention is constituted from a laminar body (1) of an annular configuration, in which an internal opening (2) is defined with dimensions in plan smaller or coinciding with the dimensions in plan of the mouth (4) of the container (3), the internal opening (2) defining a space in which the container (3) fits snugly by plugging, laminar body (1) which determines a perimeter flange around the mouth (4) of the container (3), for protection against splashes during the consumption of the product contained in the container (3).

[0025] Thus, in the embodiment example of figures 2, 3, 6 and 7, this container (3) has a truncated conical configuration, although said container (3) could have a conical configuration, as shown in figures 4 and 5, or other essentially stackable configurations, such as containers with a truncated pyramidal configuration with a square base or a rectangular base, without affecting the essence of the invention.

[0026] In this sense, the internal opening (2) of the laminar body (1) will have a geometry in accordance with the mouth (4) of the container (3), this geometry being circular, square or rectangular.

[0027] As for the outer edge (5) of the device, its configuration is not limited from a functional point of view, so it can adopt very diverse configurations according to different design lines, whether warped, as shown in the examples of figures 1 to 5, star-shaped, as shown in figures 6 and 7, or even circular, in its simplest variant, without this affecting the essence of the invention.

[0028] In any case and as previously stated, the sheet body (1) will preferably be made of paper or cardboard, and may be decorated or printed with advertising or brand information, although it could be made of other compostable or even edible materials, such as wafer or chocolate, and may be used as a complement to the product contained in the container, for example, when it is an ice cream.
