[0003] Japanese Patent Application Publication No. 7-105280
[0004] Not only are there salespeople who do not have the authority to decide the discount amount, but there are also salespeople who are not good at sales talk for customer service, and there are individual differences in customer service skills. Also, in price negotiations, there are times when it is not possible to get the discount to the amount the customer wants, so even in such cases, it is preferable to be able to use sales talk that leads to a purchase.
[0005] The information generating device of the present disclosure includes: a receiving means for receiving first text information, input to a salesperson communication device, indicating a desired product that a customer wishes to purchase and a discount requested; a generating means for identifying the desired product using the first text information, generating a discount amount for the desired product by referencing product information related to the identified desired product, and generating second text information indicating a sales pitch including the generated discount amount; and an output processing means for outputting information indicating the generated second text information to the salesperson communication device.
[0006] The store salesperson support system according to the present disclosure includes an information generating device and a salesperson communication device. The information generating device includes: a receiving unit that receives first text information input to the salesperson communication device, the first text information indicating a product desired by a customer and a discount requested by the customer; a generating unit that uses the first text information to identify the product desired by the customer, generates a discount amount for the product desired by the customer by referencing product information related to the identified product, and generates second text information indicating a sales pitch including the generated discount amount; and an output processing unit that causes the salesperson communication device to output information indicating the generated second text information.
[0007] The information generating method of the present disclosure includes one or more computers receiving first text information input to a salesperson communication device, the first text information indicating a product desired by a customer and a discount requested by the customer; identifying the product desired by the customer using the first text information; generating a discount amount for the product desired by the customer by referencing product information related to the identified product desired by the customer; generating second text information indicating a sales pitch including the generated discount amount; and outputting information indicating the generated second text information to the salesperson communication device.
[0008] The recording medium of the present disclosure is a computer-readable recording medium having recorded thereon a program for causing a computer to execute: a reception process for receiving first text information, which is input to a salesperson communication device and indicates a desired product that a customer wishes to purchase and a discount requested; a generation process for identifying the desired product using the first text information, generating a discount amount for the desired product by referencing product information related to the identified desired product, and generating second text information indicating a sales pitch including the generated discount amount; and an output process for outputting information indicating the generated second text information to the salesperson communication device.
[0009] According to the present disclosure, it is possible to obtain an information generating device, an information generating method, a recording medium, and a store salesperson support system that enable even salespersons who are inexperienced in customer service to provide appropriate customer service in price negotiations.
[0010] Fig. 1 is a functional block diagram showing an example configuration of an information generating device according to the present disclosure; Fig. 2 is a flowchart showing an example processing operation of an information generating device according to the present disclosure; Fig. 3 is a diagram conceptually showing an example system configuration of a store salesperson support system according to the present disclosure; Fig. 4 is a diagram showing an example configuration of a computer that realizes an information generating device according to the present disclosure; Fig. 5 is a diagram showing an example data configuration of store information; Fig. 6 is a diagram showing an example data configuration of product information.
[0011] Hereinafter, in this disclosure, the drawings relate to one or more embodiments. In all drawings, similar components are denoted by similar reference numerals, and descriptions thereof will be omitted as appropriate. In each of the following drawings, configurations of parts that are not related to the essence of this disclosure are omitted and are not shown.
[0012] In the present disclosure, "acquisition" includes at least one of the following: a device going to retrieve data or information stored in another device or storage medium (active acquisition); and a device inputting data or information output from another device (passive acquisition). Examples of active acquisition include making a request or inquiry to another device and receiving a response, and accessing and reading information from another device or storage medium. Examples of passive acquisition include receiving information that is distributed (or transmitted, push notification, etc.). Furthermore, "acquisition" may also mean selecting and acquiring data or information from received data or information, or selecting and receiving distributed data or information.
[0013] <Example of Functional Configuration> As shown in FIG. 1 , the information generating device 100 includes a receiving unit 102, a generating unit 104, and an output processing unit 106. The receiving unit 102 receives first text information input to the salesperson communication device, the first text information indicating a product desired by the customer and a discount requested by the customer. The generating unit 104 uses the first text information to identify the product desired by the customer, generates a discount amount for the product desired by the customer by referencing product information related to the identified product, and generates second text information indicating a sales pitch including the generated discount amount. The output processing unit 106 outputs information indicating the generated second text information to the salesperson communication device.
[0014] <Operation Example> The information generating device 100 operates as shown in the flowchart of FIG. 2. First, the receiving unit 102 receives first text information input to the salesperson communication device, the first text information indicating a product desired by the customer and a discount requested by the customer (step S101). The generating unit 104 identifies the product using the first text information (step S103). The generating unit 104 then generates a discount amount for the product by referencing product information related to the identified product (step S105). The generating unit 104 then generates second text information indicating a sales pitch including the generated discount amount (step S107). The output processing unit 106 causes the salesperson communication device to output information indicating the generated second text information (step S109).
[0015] According to this information generating device 100, information showing second text information indicating a sales pitch including a discount amount for the product that the customer wishes to purchase is output to the salesperson communication device, so that even a salesperson who is unfamiliar with customer service can provide appropriate customer service in price negotiations.
[0016] A detailed example of the information generating device 100 will be described below.
[0017] (First Embodiment) <System Overview> As shown in FIG. 3 , the store salesperson support system 1 includes an information generating device 100 and a communication device 200 used by the salesperson 10. The information generating device 100 and the communication device 200 are connected via a communication network 3. The store salesperson support system 1 supports the salesperson 10 in serving customers 20 in a store such as a retail store or a consumer electronics retailer. The salesperson 10 may be, for example, a part-time or casual employee. The store salesperson support system 1 supports the salesperson 10 in serving customers by suggesting sales pitches to customers 20 who are considering purchasing a certain product in order to lead them to purchase the product. This enables even salespersons 10 who are inexperienced in customer service to provide a certain level of customer service.
[0018] In particular, the information generating device 100 calculates the discount amount for the product 30 that the salesperson 10 wishes to purchase, generates a sales pitch including the discount amount, and outputs it to the output device (display, speaker, etc.) of the communication device 200 used by the salesperson 10 or the speaker of the headset 210.
[0019] The communication device 200 is a computer such as a personal computer, a smartphone, or a tablet terminal.
[0020] The headset 210 includes at least one of a microphone and a speaker. The headset 210 has the function of communicating with the communication device 200 wirelessly or via a wire. The communication device 200 inputs and outputs audio via the headset 210. However, the communication device 200 may input and output audio via its own speaker and microphone. The headset 210 is, for example, a headset in which a microphone and a speaker (e.g., headphones) are integrated and can be worn on the head of the salesperson 10. However, the headset 210 may also be a headset in which the microphone and the speaker (e.g., earphones) are separate, with the microphone being pinned to the salesperson 10's clothing or the like and the earphones being worn on the salesperson 10's ears.
[0021] The information generating device 100 includes a storage device 120. However, the storage device 120 may be a device separate from the information generating device 100, may be a device included inside the information generating device 100, or may be a combination of these.
[0022] The information generating device 100 is, for example, a computer such as a personal computer or a server computer (computer 1000 described below). The information generating device 100 may be a computer (standalone type) installed in a store. Alternatively, the information generating device 100 may be a server computer installed separately from the store and connected to the communication device 200 via a communication network 3.
[0023] For example, each function of the information generating device 100 may be realized by installing an application program on various computers and starting the program. Alternatively, each function of the information generating device 100 may be realized in a form provided to a user by accessing a server computer on a cloud from the communication device 200 via a communication network 3 such as the Internet (for example, SaaS (Software as a Service)).
[0024] <Hardware Configuration Example> The information generating device 100 according to the present disclosure is realized by a computer 1000 shown in Fig. 4. The communication device 200 shown in Fig. 3 is also realized by a computer 1000. Furthermore, the functions of the information generating device 100 may be shared and realized by the computer 1000 of the communication device 200 and the computer 1000 of the information generating device 100.
[0025] The computer 1000 has a bus 1010 , a processor 1020 , a memory 1030 , a storage device 1040 , an input / output interface 1050 , and a network interface 1060 .
[0026] The bus 1010 is a data transmission path for transmitting and receiving data among the processor 1020, memory 1030, storage device 1040, input / output interface 1050, and network interface 1060. However, the method of connecting the processor 1020 and the like to each other is not limited to bus connection.
[0027] The processor 1020 is implemented by a CPU (Central Processing Unit), a GPU (Graphics Processing Unit), or the like.
[0028] The memory 1030 is a main storage device realized by a RAM (Random Access Memory) or the like.
[0029] The storage device 1040 is an auxiliary storage device realized by a hard disk drive (HDD), a solid state drive (SSD), a memory card, a read only memory (ROM), or the like. The storage device 1040 stores program modules that realize each function of the information generating device 100 (e.g., the reception unit 102, the generation unit 104, and the output processing unit 106). The processor 1020 loads each of these program modules into the memory 1030 and executes them, thereby realizing each function corresponding to the program module. The storage device 1040 may also function as the storage device 120 of the information generating device 100.
[0030] The program module may be recorded on a recording medium. The recording medium on which the program module is recorded may include a non-transitory, tangible medium usable by the computer 1000, and the program code readable by the computer 1000 (processor 1020) may be embedded in the medium.
[0031] The input / output interface 1050 is an interface for connecting the computer 1000 to various input / output devices (e.g., the headset 210). The input / output interface 1050 also functions as a communication interface for performing short-range wireless communication such as Bluetooth (registered trademark) and NFC (Near Field Communication). The input / output interface 1050 also functions as a wired communication interface such as USB (Universal Serial Bus) and HDMI (High Definition Multimedia Interface) (registered trademark). The input / output interface 1050 also functions as a communication interface for performing mobile wireless communication via a mobile communication network or the like.
[0032] The network interface 1060 is an interface for connecting the computer 1000 to the communication network 3. This communication network 3 is, for example, a local area network (LAN) or a wide area network (WAN). The network interface 1060 may be connected to the communication network 3 wirelessly or by wire.
[0033] The computer 1000 then connects to necessary devices (e.g., a display, touch panel, operation buttons, touchpad, keyboard, mouse, speaker, microphone, camera, printer, etc. of the information generating device 100, and a display, touch panel, touchpad, operation buttons, keyboard, mouse, speaker, microphone, camera, headset 210, printer, etc. of the communication device 200) via the input / output interface 1050 or the network interface 1060.
[0034] Each component of the information generating device 100 according to the present disclosure is realized by any combination of hardware and software of the computer 1000 shown in Figure 4. Those skilled in the art will understand that there are many variations in the realization method and device. The functional block diagrams showing the information generating device 100 according to the present disclosure in each figure show blocks of logical functional units, rather than a configuration of hardware units.
[0035] <Example of Functional Configuration> The following will be described with reference to Fig. 1. As shown in Fig. 1, the information generating device 100 includes a receiving unit 102, a generating unit 104, and an output processing unit 106. The receiving unit 102 receives first text information input to the communication device 200 used by the salesperson 10, the first text information indicating the desired product 30 that the customer 20 wishes to purchase and the request for a discount.
[0036] For example, assume that in a conversation between salesperson 10 and customer 20, customer 20 wishes to purchase a model XYZ washing machine from company A. At this time, salesperson 10 utters, "(Please tell me) the discount amount for a model XYZ washing machine from company A." Reception unit 102 passes the spoken voice of salesperson 10 input via the microphone of headset 210 to a voice recognition unit (not shown), and receives first text information converted into text by the voice recognition unit.
[0037] In this way, the first text information is generated by converting the speech of salesperson 10 input into headset 210 into text using a speech recognition unit. Alternatively, the first text information may be input by accepting an operation by salesperson 10 using an operation screen displayed on the display of communication device 200. For example, the operation screen includes various user interfaces (UIs) for accepting input of information (e.g., product category, manufacturer name, model, etc.) that can identify product 30 that customer 20 wishes to purchase. Furthermore, the operation screen also includes a UI for accepting input of information indicating that a discount is requested.
[0038] The information included in the first text information and indicating that a discount is requested includes at least one of the following information: Information inquiring whether a discount is possible for the desired product 30; Information inquiring about the amount of discount that can be made for the desired product 30; Information indicating the discount amount that the customer 20 desires for the desired product 30 and information inquiring about whether a discount of that amount is possible.
[0039] The "discount amount" may be "amount of reduction (e.g., reduction to 2,000 yen)," "discount rate (e.g., 10% off)," or the like.
[0040] The generating unit 104 uses the first text information to identify the desired product 30. Furthermore, the generating unit 104 generates a discount amount for the desired product 30 by referring to product information related to the identified desired product 30. Then, the generating unit 104 generates second text information indicating a sales pitch including the generated discount amount.
[0041] As described above, the first text information includes information that can identify the desired product 30 that the customer 20 wishes to purchase and information indicating that a discount is being requested. The generation unit 104 identifies the desired product 30 using the information that can identify the desired product 30 included in the first text information.
[0042] Product information regarding the desired product 30 is stored in the storage device 120 as product information 140 shown in Fig. 6. The product information 140 includes, for each product, product identification information (product ID in the figure), information indicating the purchase price of the product, information indicating the displayed retail price in the store, and information regarding sales promotions (for example, information indicating whether the product is eligible for sales promotion, information indicating the sales promotion period, etc.), all of which are associated with the product's purchase price.
[0043] The information used by the generating unit 104 to generate the discount amount for the desired product 30 includes at least one of the purchase price of the desired product 30 and the store's gross profit. Furthermore, the information used to generate the discount amount for the desired product 30 may include the store's actual sales amount for a predetermined period (e.g., a sales recording period, e.g., one month) and a target sales amount. The information used to generate the discount amount for the desired product 30 may further include the number of days until the closing date of the sales recording period.
[0044] The information on store sales used by the generation unit 104 is stored in the storage device 120 as store information 130, as shown in Fig. 5, for example. The store information 130 includes, for each store, store identification information (store ID in the figure), information indicating the sales recording period (year and month in the figure), information indicating the closing date, information indicating the actual sales amount (performance in the figure), and target sales amount (target value in the figure), all associated with each other.
[0045] The information included in the store information 130 may be set, for example, for each product category or each manufacturer, or may be set for at least one of the promotion period, promotion target category, manufacturer, and product.
[0046] The generating unit 104 references the store information 130 and the product information 140 to generate the discount amount available at the store on that day.
[0047] The generation unit 104 may calculate the discount amount using a predetermined calculation formula (a predetermined function) using the above-mentioned information (information used to generate the discount amount for the desired product 30), or may use a machine learning model described below to input the above-mentioned information and obtain the discount amount as an output.
[0048] In the discount amount calculation formula, parameters may be set for each product category or manufacturer. For example, parameters may be set so that a larger discount amount is applied to products in a promotional category or manufacturer. As described above, the promotion information may be included in the product information 140, or information indicating the promotion period, the promotional product category, the manufacturer, the discount amount, or the discount rate may be stored separately in the storage device 120.
[0049] Furthermore, for example, a parameter that is reflected in the discount rate (or discount amount) may be set using the difference between the actual sales amount and the target sales amount. When the actual sales amount is below the target, the parameter is set so that the larger the difference, the smaller the discount rate (or discount amount). When the actual sales amount is above the target, the parameter is set so that the larger the difference, the larger the discount rate (or discount amount).
[0050] The generating unit 104 generates second text information indicating the sales pitch including the generated discount amount. The second text information includes information indicating the discount amount of the desired product 30 and information indicating the sales pitch to the customer 20.
[0051] The generation unit 104 uses the generated discount amount to modify other information included in the second text information other than the discount amount. For example, if the discount amount is large, the other information is information indicating a sales pitch that emphasizes the discount. For example, the generation unit 104 generates second text information including a sales pitch such as, "We can currently offer the desired product XYZ at a very low price, so we will give you a 5,000 yen discount." Alternatively, if the discount amount is small, the other information is information indicating a sales pitch that emphasizes the selling points of the desired product 30. For example, the generation unit 104 generates second text information including a sales pitch such as, "The discount amount for the desired product XYZ is a fractional amount of 1,980 yen, but this product is a popular product that is also a hot topic on social media."
[0052] The output processing unit 106 outputs information indicating the generated second text information to the communication device 200 used by the salesperson 10. Examples of methods for outputting information indicating the second text information are given below. (Output Example 1) The second text information is displayed on the display of the communication device 200. (Output Example 2) The sales talk indicated by the second text information is converted into audio and output as audio from the speaker of the headset 210 used by the salesperson 10, which is connected to the communication device 200. (Output Example 3) The sales talk indicated by the second text information is converted into audio and output as audio from the speaker of the communication device 200.
[0053] In the case of output example 1, the salesperson 10 looks at the second text information displayed on the display of the communication device 200 and makes a sales pitch to the customer 20. In the case of output example 2, the salesperson 10 listens to the audio output from the speaker of the headset 210 and makes a sales pitch to the customer 20. In the case of output example 3, the salesperson 10 points the communication device 200 toward the customer 20 so that the audio output from the speaker of the communication device 200 can be heard by the customer 20.
[0054] Furthermore, the receiving unit 102 may further receive attribute information of the customer 20. The generating unit 104 further uses the received attribute information of the customer 20 to generate second text information.
[0055] The attribute information of the customer 20 includes, for example, at least one of gender, age group, occupation (student, office worker, housewife, etc.), customer type (regular customer), etc. The attribute information of the customer 20 is input by the salesperson 10 using, for example, an operation screen displayed on the display of the communication device 200, and is accepted by the acceptance unit 102. The operation screen includes a UI for accepting the input of the attributes of the customer 20. The salesperson 10 can input the attribute information of the customer 20 while serving them using the operation screen.
[0056] Alternatively, the attribute information of the customer 20 may be input by voice by the salesperson 10 via the microphone of the headset 210. Alternatively, the attributes of the customer 20 may be identified and attribute information may be generated by performing image processing on an image of the customer 20 captured using the camera of the communication device 200 or an image captured using a surveillance camera in the store.
[0057] The generation unit 104 uses the attribute information of the customer 20 to generate a sales pitch suitable for the customer 20. For example, the generation unit 104 uses the gender of the customer 20 to generate a sales pitch for women for a woman, and a sales pitch for men for a man. Sales pitches for women include, for example, sales pitches that include the features of a product that are popular with women, or sales pitches that emphasize the performance of a product that is thought to be important to women.
[0058] The generation unit 104 may generate the second text information using a machine learning model. The machine learning model may include a language model such as Large Language Models (LLM) or Generative Pretrained Transformer (GPT). Furthermore, the machine learning model may be a chat-type machine learning model using these models.
[0059] The generating unit 104 may further generate a discount amount for the desired product 30 using a machine learning model.
[0060] When the second text information generated by the generation unit 104 is generated by a chat-based machine learning model, for example, the salesperson 10 may show the customer 20 the screen of the display of the communication device 200 or let the customer 20 listen to the audio output from a speaker. Furthermore, the first text information received by the reception unit 102 may be received as a speech in which the customer 20 directly inquires about the discount amount of the product 30 that the customer 20 wishes to purchase.
[0061] The machine learning model may be trained on, for example, online product review information and information contained in articles posted on social media. Furthermore, the machine learning model may be trained on the conversational voice of the salesperson 10 and the customer 20.
[0062] The sales pitches included in the second text information may be organized into a database for each product. The information stored in the database may include sales pitches generated by a machine learning model.
[0063] The sales pitch may include, for example, information showing positive comments about the product on social media as a selling point of the product. Alternatively, the sales pitch may include content that denies negative comments about the product on social media, along with reasons for such content, in the product description.
[0064] <Operation Example> The following will be described with reference to Fig. 2. First, in the information generating device 100, the receiving unit 102 receives first text information input to the communication device 200 used by the salesperson 10, the first text information indicating that the customer 20 wishes to purchase the desired product 30 and that a discount is being requested (step S101).
[0065] Specifically, when customer 20 tells salesperson 10 about product 30 that he or she wishes to purchase, salesperson 10 speaks into the microphone of headset 210 connected to communication device 200, as information that can identify product 30, such as "Tell me the discount amount for a washing machine of model XYZ from company A." Receiving unit 102 receives first text information obtained by performing speech recognition on the speech of salesperson 10.
[0066] Alternatively, the salesperson 10 uses the operation screen of the communication device 200 to input information inquiring about the discount amount for a model XYZ washing machine from company A. The reception unit 102 receives the information input by the operation of the salesperson 10 as first text information.
[0067] The generation unit 104 uses the received first text information to identify the desired product 30 (step S103). Specifically, the generation unit 104 extracts information indicating the product name (e.g., washing machine), manufacturer name (e.g., Company A), model (e.g., model XYZ), etc., included in the first text information, and identifies the desired product 30.
[0068] The generating unit 104 generates a discount amount for the identified desired product 30 by referencing the product information 140 for the desired product 30 (step S105). The generating unit 104 then generates second text information indicating a sales pitch including the generated discount amount (step S107). The output processing unit 106 then causes the communication device 200 of the salesperson 10 to output information indicating the generated second text information (step S109).
[0069] As described above, according to this embodiment, the information generating device 100 includes a receiving unit 102, a generating unit 104, and an output processing unit 106. The receiving unit 102 receives first text information input to the salesperson communication device, the first text information indicating a product desired by a customer and a discount requested by the customer.
[0070] Thus, according to this embodiment, information showing the second text information indicating the sales pitch including the discount amount for the desired product 30 that the customer 20 wishes to purchase is output to the communication device 200 of the salesperson 10, so that even a salesperson 10 who is unfamiliar with customer service can provide appropriate customer service in price negotiations.
