Sail-type wind turbine

Abstract

The invention relates to a sail-type wind turbine for maximising wind power for electricity generation, which is formed by four sail-type gates connected to a support shaft, each gate comprising vents that open and close in an opposite manner when subjected to the wind. When the vents of the first gate (1) are closed, the vents of the opposite second gate (2) are open. The closed gate is therefore driven by the wind and rotates the support shaft, while the opposite second gate (2), with its vents open, does not resist the wind. When the first and second gates move, the third gate (3) closes under the effect of the wind and the fourth gate (4) opens, thereby moving the support shaft, which is connected to a gear of the generator, the generator moving at lower wind speed.
