[0006] Gable-roof packaging is used particularly for packaging liquid goods, such as liquid foodstuffs. Such gable-roof packaging is known, for example, from EP 3 145696 B1 and EP 2 155 566 B1.
[0007] Due to the widespread use of gable-top packaging for food products such as milk or juice, consumers generally associate such packaging with food. Therefore, if gable-top packaging contains non-food items like hand soap, mouthwash, shampoo, shower gel, laundry detergent, fabric softener, dish soap, or cleaning products, there is a risk that the non-food item will be inadvertently consumed. Against this backdrop, there is a fundamental need to differentiate gable-top packaging containing non-food items from that containing food products.

However, such covers can easily detach from the gable roof packaging and do not offer sufficient protection against unwanted access by children.

The cover comprises two locking elements designed to engage under the roof surfaces of the gable roof in such a way that the cover is secured to the gable roof and cannot fall off unintentionally. However, the cover can be easily removed from the gable-roof package. To do this, the cover can be pulled upwards off the gable roof. The packaging system 1 comprises a gable-roof package 2 with a gable roof 22 having two roof surfaces 23. The gable-roof package 2 is preferably made of cardboard or of a laminate containing cardboard. The roof surfaces 23 terminate at their upper surface in a sealing fin 26, which projects vertically upwards from the roof surfaces 23. An opening 38 is provided in at least one roof surface 23 of the gable-roof package 2, through which the contents of the gable-roof package can be removed, for example, a non-food item, in particular hand soap, mouthwash, shampoo, shower gel, laundry detergent, fabric softener, dishwashing liquid, or cleaning agent. Claims
PATENT CLAIMS 1. Hood (3) for placing on a gable roof (22) of a gable roof packaging (2), wherein the gable roof (22) has two roof surfaces (23), comprising at least one locking element (32), preferably two locking elements (32), wherein the at least one locking element (32) is configured to engage under the roof surfaces (23) of the gable roof (22) of the gable roof packaging (2) in a locking position (I) such that the hood (3) is secured to the gable roof (22) of the gable roof packaging (2), characterized in that the at least one locking element (32) is configured to be moved from the locking position (I) to a release position (II) in which the at least one locking element (32) does not engage under the roof surfaces (23) of the gable roof (22) of the gable roof packaging (2), so that the hood (3) is released from the gable roof (22) of the gable roof packaging (2). (2) can be removed.
2. Hood (3) according to claim 1, characterized in that an edge of the locking element (32) in the locking position (I) is in contact with an underside of the roof surfaces (23) and that the edge in the release position (II) is arranged laterally next to the roof surfaces (23), so that the edge is not in contact with the underside of the roof surfaces (23).
3. Hood (3) according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the hood (3) has a side wall (31) which defines an interior space (35) of the hood (3), wherein the at least one locking element (32) is designed as a tab which, in the locking position (I), extends from the side wall (31) towards the interior space (35).
4. Hood (3) according to claim 3, characterized in that the locking element (32) is pivotable about a pivot axis (S) which is arranged between a top (39) of the hood (3) and a bottom edge of the hood (3).
5. Hood (3) according to claim 3 or 4, characterized in that the locking element (32) is designed as a section of the side wall (31) which is folded towards the interior (35).
6. Hood (3) according to claim 4 or 5, characterized in that the locking element (32) has a first part (32.1) connected to the side wall (31) and a second part (32.1). part (32.2) has a second part (32.2) which is folded relative to the first part (32.1).
7. Hood (3) according to one of claims 3 to 6, characterized in that the side wall (31) and the locking element (32) are designed such that by pressing the side wall (31) towards the interior (35) of the hood (3), in particular by pressing the side wall (31) in the area of a folding edge (33) between the side wall (31) and the locking element (32), towards the interior (35) of the hood (3), the locking element (32) can be moved from the locking position (I) to the release position (II).
8. Hood (3) according to claim 7, characterized in that the side wall (31) or the locking element (32) has a pressure tab (36) which extends into an area below the folding edge (33) between the side wall (31) and the locking element (32).
9. Hood (3) according to claim 7 or 8, characterized in that the locking element (32) has a recess (37) which is limited by the folding edge (33) between the side wall (31) and the locking element (32).
10. Hood (3) according to one of claims 7 to 9, characterized in that it has one or more weakening lines, preferably one or more scoring lines or perforation lines.
11. Hood (3) according to one of claims 3 to 10, characterized in that the side wall (31) has an opening (38) arranged above the folding edge (33) between the side wall (31) and the locking element (32).
12. Hood (3) according to claim 11, characterized in that the opening (38) is designed such that a user can reach through the opening (38) with a finger and move the locking element (32) from the locking position (I) to the release position (II).
13. Hood (3) according to claim 12, characterized in that the locking element (32) has a gripping lever which, in the locking position (I), protrudes from the interior (35) of the hood (3) through the opening (38) and can be grasped by a user to move the locking element (32) from the locking position (I) to the release position (II) to transfer or that the locking element (32) has a finger hole into which a user's finger can be inserted to transfer the locking element (32) from the locking position (I) to the release position (II).
14. Hood (3) according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the hood (3) comprises cardboard or paperboard or paper, preferably is made of cardboard or paperboard or paper.
15. Hood (3) according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the side wall (31) is formed in two layers in an area around the locking element (32).
16. Hood (3) according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the hood has a receiving element for receiving a sealing fin (26) of a gable roof packaging (2).
17. Packaging system (1) comprising a gable roof packaging (2) with a gable roof (22) having two roof surfaces (23) and comprising a hood (3) for placing on the gable roof (22) of the gable roof packaging (2) according to one of the preceding claims.
18. Packaging system (1) according to claim 17, characterized in that the gable roof packaging (2) comprises two opposite side walls (21) which are each connected to a gable surface (24) of the gable roof (22), wherein the gable surface (24) is arranged obliquely opposite the side wall (21) and forms a gusset (25) below the roof surfaces (23).
19. Packaging system (1) according to claim 18, characterized in that the locking element (32) is pivotable about a pivot axis (S) which is arranged below a gable edge (28) between one of the side walls (21) and the respective gable surface (24) when the hood (3) is placed on the gable roof packaging (2).
20. Packaging system (1) according to one of claims 17 to 19, characterized in that the gable roof packaging (2) has a removal area (27) for removing the package contents, in particular with a closure, wherein the extraction area (27) is located in particular in a roof surface (23) of the gable roof (22).
21. Packaging system (1) according to one of claims 17 to 20, characterized in that the gable roof packaging (2) has a sealing fin (26) projecting upwards between the roof surfaces (23), wherein the hood (3) is designed such that there is a gap between the sealing fin (26) and a top surface (39) of the hood (3) when the hood (3) is placed on the gable roof packaging (2).
22. Consumer product comprising a packaging system (1) according to one of claims 17 to 21 and a non-food ingredient arranged in the gable roof packaging (2) of the packaging system, in particular hand soap, mouthwash, shampoo, shower gel, detergent, fabric softener, dishwashing liquid or cleaning agent.
