Abstract
Description
[0001] DESCRIPTION
[0002] SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PUTTING ON BED SHEETS
[0003] DISSEMINATION AREA
[0004] This disclosure falls within the area of systems for efficiently facilitating the placement and stretching of bed sheets, whether with or without elastic, to ensure a firm and uniform fit on mattresses of various thicknesses and dimensions, and for different bed shapes.
[0005] STATE OF THE ART
[0006] Bed sheets, whether fitted or not, have a high propensity to become loose and ill-fitting due to their placement or after continuous use and multiple washes. Ill-fitting sheets can cause discomfort while sleeping and result in a messy appearance of the bed. On the other hand, it is laborious to hold the mattress while placing a sheet underneath it. Thus, the system and method of the present disclosure constitute an effective solution for easily placing stretched sheets on a bed and restoring their proper fit, thereby improving user comfort and the aesthetic appearance of the bed.
[0007] SUMMARY OF THE DISCLOSURE
[0008] The subject of this disclosure is a system for facilitating the placement of a bottom sheet on a bed, the system comprising controllable lifting means, the controllable lifting means being available between a bed frame and a mattress, being controllable in such a way that they are liftable between a resting position, in which the mattress is adjacent to the bed frame, and a raised position, in which the mattress is raised under the bed to one or more predefined heights, the controllable lifting means comprising at least two elongated portions individually liftable by inflation and available along the length of the bed frame.
[0009] Since the controllable lifting means are inflatable, the transition from the resting position to the raised position is achieved by inflating the controllable lifting means, and the transition from the raised position to the resting position is achieved by deflating the controllable lifting means. Each of the individually liftable elongated portions can form a substantially inflatable tubular portion.
[0010] The system may include a bed frame and a mattress.
[0011] The system may additionally include adjustment straps, each adjustment strap being available in width on the bed frame and being attached to each of the individually elevating elongated portions, such that adjusting the adjustment strap allows regulating the distance between elongated portions.
[0012] The various adjustment straps can be arranged along the length of the bed frame and the individually elevating elongated portions.
[0013] Each adjustment strap may have at least one elastic portion running along its length.
[0014] The system may additionally include sheet stretching elements, with a stretching element attached to each end of an adjustment strap, each sheet stretching element being removablely attachable to a portion of a sheet.
[0015] Each sheet stretching element may comprise a clip that can be removablely attached to a portion of a sheet.
[0016] The system may comprise one or more, preferably between 3-8, adjustment straps.
[0017] The system may additionally include inflation means configured to individually inflate each of the individually liftable elongated portions.
[0018] This disclosure further includes a method for facilitating the placement of a fitted sheet on a bed, the method comprising the steps of: placing a fitted sheet over a mattress which is in turn placed adjacently under a bed frame, raising the mattress under the bed frame to one or more predefined heights, the raising of the mattress being carried out by at least two individually liftable elongated portions available along the length of the bed frame, placing at least one portion of the fitted sheet between the mattress and the bed frame, bringing the mattress to the position adjacently under the bed frame.
[0019] The method may additionally include the following steps: after placing at least a portion of the bottom sheet between the mattress and the bed frame, attaching at least two diametrically opposite portions along the length of the sheet to sheet stretching elements that are in turn fixed.
[0020] DESCRIPTION OF THE FIGURES

[0022] Figure 2 - Schematic representation of a system (10) according to the present disclosure, showing a bed frame (20), two elongated (30) and substantially tubular portions, individually elevable and arranged along the length of the bed frame (20). The elongated portions (30) are in the elevated position and are fixed to the bed frame (20) by means of 5 adjustment straps (40). Each adjustment strap (40) is fixed (42) to each of the elongated portions (30) and to a central position of the bed frame (20), in relation to the elongated portions (30). Additionally, at each end of an elongated portion (30) are arranged sheet stretching elements (41) consisting of clips, these clips being configured to tighten a portion of a sheet. Additionally, the system (10) comprises inflation means (50) - an inflation pump - which is configured to inflate each of the elongated portions (30).

[0026] Bed sheets typically consist of pieces of fabric used to cover mattresses, which in turn are placed on bed frames, including fitted sheets and flat sheets. This disclosure applies to either type of sheet, although its advantages are more evident in flat sheets.
[0027] The sheet stretching elements (41) together with the adjustment straps (40) ensure that the sheets are held and tensioned evenly during the placement process, guaranteeing that they are properly placed.
[0028] The adjustment straps (40) allow the distance between elongated portions (30) to be adjusted according to the width of the bed frame (20) and corresponding mattress (15). This adjustment can be described as an adjustment of the length of each adjustment strap (40) between elongated portions (30).
[0029] The adjustment straps (40) do not need to be fixed to the bed frame, they can be left free. The elongated portions (30), being placed between the mattress (15) and the bed frame (20), are properly positioned in a fixed manner between the two.
[0030] The length adjustment means allow for adjustment of the tension applied to the sheets, particularly when associated with sheet stretching elements (41). This is therefore a solution that allows adjusting the force applied to the sheets to stretch them in a controlled manner to the corresponding width of the mattress (15) and / or bed.
[0031] This disclosure, comprising controllable lifting means, allows the mattress (15) to be raised to one or more predefined heights and operated at the user's request. Additionally, the fact that the controllable lifting means comprise at least two individually liftable elongated portions (30) available along the length of the bed frame (20) makes it possible for all the remaining space between the mattress (15) and the bed frame (20) to be free, thus facilitating the user's operation in putting on the sheets.
[0032] This disclosure includes controllable lifting means that can be implemented using inflatable elongated sections (30). The control operation for simultaneously inflating the inflatable elongated sections (30) may include, as mentioned, inflation means (50). The inflation means (50) are configured to coordinate the air intake into both inflatable elongated sections (30). Each inflatable elongated section (30) is connected to the inflation means (50), which may include the same compressed air source or multiple compressed air sources, one for each inflatable elongated section (30). The connection may be made via regulating valves. Inflation is ensured by a central controller that monitors and adjusts the pre-defined air pressure for each inflatable elongated section (30).
[0033] Furthermore, the system (10) may include safety mechanisms to prevent accidents. Maximum pressure limits are predefined in the controller for each inflatable elongated portion (30). If the pressure in either of the inflatable elongated portions (30) reaches this limit, the controller immediately interrupts the airflow to that inflatable elongated portion (30), while continuing to monitor the other. In situations where both inflatable elongated portions (30) reach maximum pressure simultaneously, the system (10) cuts off the air supply to both inflatable elongated portions (30) and alerts the user to the condition. This integrated control system (10) ensures that the simultaneous inflation of two inflatable elongated portions (30) is carried out efficiently, safely and in a balanced manner, avoiding risks and ensuring process uniformity.
[0034] As will be clear to an expert in the field, the present disclosure should not be limited to the embodiments described herein, and various alterations are possible which remain within the scope of this disclosure.
[0035] Naturally, the embodiments presented above can be combined in different possible ways, and the repetition of all these combinations is avoided here.
