Abstract

The invention relates to the consumer goods industry, and more particularly to packaging means, and even more particularly to containers for holding food products, and can be used for storing and transporting food products and ready-made meals in cafés, dining halls and restaurants, and in the home. The present food container comprises a receptacle and a lid, the receptacle having an octagonal base, wherein opposing sides of the base form pairs in which the sides have the same length and are parallel to one another, and the side surfaces of the receptacle are in the form of four pairs of isosceles trapezoids. The lid comprises a horizontal ledge which corresponds in shape to a horizontal ledge of the receptacle and has an outer lid edge which is bent downwards. The lid is provided with a lock in the form of depressions on a lateral side of the lid and on the bent edge of the lid for connecting the lid to the receptacle. The technical result is that of increasing the rigidity of the container closed with the lid, while at the same time reducing the possibility that liquid food products will leak if the container is overturned.

[0002] The invention relates to light industry, namely to packaging means, in particular to containers for placing food products, and can be used for storing and transporting food products, prepared meals in cafes, canteens, restaurants, and at home.

[0003] The use of octagonal food containers allows, on the one hand, the use of standard sheet blanks, which are cost-effectively converted into volumetric products from a production point of view, and also, unlike standard quadrangular food containers, these octagonal containers have greater rigidity due to the addition of four ribs to the container.

The octagonal food container comprises a container and a lid, wherein the container is made with an octagonal base, the opposite sides of which are pairwise equal and parallel, and the side surfaces are four pairs of isosceles trapezoids, the smaller bases of which are connected to the octagonal base of the container, while the larger bases of said trapezoids of the container are connected to a horizontal shelf of the container, the outer edge of which is bent downwards; the lid is made along the edges with a horizontal shelf, which repeats the said horizontal shelf of the container and has an outer edge that is bent downwards, the said lid on each side contains a lock in the form of recesses, one of which recesses rests against the inner surface of the side surface of the container, and the other is hooked onto the outer edge of the horizontal shelf of the container.

The lateral sides of the lid (8) transition into a horizontal shelf of the lid (9).
