CLAIMS1 . A straw assembly for use with a drink bottle, the straw assembly comprising: a plurality of connectable segments, a straw comprising at least two connectable segments of the plurality of connectable segments, the at least two connectable segments being configured to be connected in series to adjust the length of the straw, wherein the straw has a first end and a second end, and at least one of the first end and the second end are configured to connect to an outlet of a lid or cap of a drink bottle; and wherein at least one of the connectable segments of the plurality of connectable segment comprises a filter housing for housing a filter element, the filter housing: having one or more openings formed therein; and being configured to releasably connect to the straw.
2. The straw assembly of claim 1 , further comprising an adaptor portion that is releasably connectable to the straw and configured to connect to an outlet of a lid or cap of a bottle.
3. The straw assembly of claim 1 or claim 2, further comprising a filter element located within the filter housing.
4. The straw assembly of any one of claims 1 to 3, wherein a passage extends through the straw between the first end and the second end.
5. The straw assembly of claim 3, wherein the filter housing comprises a seat for locating the filter within.
6. The straw assembly of claim 3 or claim 5, wherein the filter element is located between an opening of the first end of the straw and the one or more openings formed in the filter housing and the one or more openings in the filter housing allow water to pass through the filter element as it is drawn into the straw.
7. The straw assembly of any one of claims 1 to 6, wherein the filter housing is configured to be releasably connected between a first connectable segment of the at least two connectable segments and a second connectable segment of the at least two connectable segments.
8. The straw assembly of any one of claims 1 to 6, wherein the filter housing is configured to be releasably connected to the first end of the straw.
9. The straw assembly of any one of claims 1 to 8, wherein the plurality of connectable segments comprises one or more intermediate connectable segments and an end connectable segment.

A method for using a straw assembly in a drink bottle, the method comprising: providing a plurality of connectable segments; locating a filter element within a first connectable segment of the plurality of connectable segments comprising a filter housing, the filter housing having one or more openings formed therein; releasably connecting the filter housing to a straw, the straw being formed from at least two connectable segments of the plurality of connectable segments, the at least two connectable segments being configured to be connected in series to adjust the length of the straw, wherein the straw has the first end and a second end, and at least one of first end and the second end are configured to connect to an outlet of a lid or cap of a drink bottle; and connecting the straw to an outlet of a lid or cap of the drink bottle.
11. A kit for a straw assembly, the kit comprising: a straw comprising a first plurality of connectable segments, the connectable segments being configured to be connected in series to adjust the length of the straw, wherein the straw has a first end and a second end, and the second end is configured to connect to an outlet of a lid or cap of a drink bottle; at least one second connectable segment comprising a filter housing for housing a filter element, the filter housing: having one or more openings formed therein; and being configured to releasably connect to the first end of the straw; at least one third connectable segment comprising an adaptor portion that is releasably connectable to the straw and configured to connect to an outlet of a lid or cap of a drink bottle; and a filter element locatable within the filter housing.
12. A straw assembly for use with a drink bottle, comprising: a telescopic straw having a first end and a second end that is telescopically extendable relative to the first end, wherein the second end is configured to connect to an outlet of a lid or cap of a drink bottle; and a filter housing for housing a filter element, the filter housing having one or more openings formed therein and being releasably connected to the first end.
13. The straw assembly of claim 12, further comprising an adaptor portion that is releasably connectable to the second end of the telescopic straw and configured to connect to an outlet of a lid or cap of a bottle.
14. The straw assembly of claim 13, wherein the second end of the telescopic straw is received within an end of the adaptor portion.
15. The straw assembly of claim 12, further comprising a filter element located within the filter housing, wherein the filter element is located between an opening of the first end of the telescopic straw and the one or more openings formed in the filter housing.
16. The straw assembly of claim 12, wherein the filter housing is configured to be releasably connected to the first end of the telescopic straw via a screw-fit connection.
17. The straw assembly of claim 12, wherein the telescopic straw comprises multiple nested segments configured to be extended and retracted to adjust the length of the straw.
18. The straw assembly of claim 17, wherein the nested segments of the telescopic straw are graduated in diameter, with each successive segment being smaller in diameter than the preceding segment.
19. A straw assembly for use with a drink bottle, comprising: a unitary body including a straw portion having a first end and a second end, and a filter housing portion connected to the straw at the first end, the filter housing portion containing a filter element.
